Warp stabilizer crops clip off screen - help!

Adobe Premiere Pro CC - most current update.
When I apply the Warp Stabilizer effect, it crops/moves the clip almost completely off screen in the preview window. It also remains this way when I export.
I am uploading dslr footage with these properties:
File Path: /Users/Braedin/Desktop/Banff trip/Friday/MVI_9850.MOV
Type: MPEG Movie
File Size: 52.5 MB
Image Size: 1280 x 720
Frame Rate: 59.94
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 16 bit - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
Total Duration: 00:00:10:03
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0
I then slow down footage to 40% to a 24fps look (orginally 60fps)
I then "Nest" the footage to be able to apply the Warp Stabilizer effect.
This is what it looks like without applying warp stabilizer:
This is what is looks like after applying warp stabilizer and rendering the clip:
These are the properties of the "Nested" clip with Warp Stabilizer:
Nested Sequence 03
1280 x 720
00;00;04;22, 59.94 fps
48000 Hz - Stereo
Finally, here are my current Sequence Settings in which I am having the issue:
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I suspect its an issue with sequence setting.
Thanks,
Braedin

If you have a Retina Macbook Pro you can download the latest NVIDIA drivers from their website, which will enable you to use CUDA GPU acceleration in Premiere Pro, which fixed the problem for me, and is faster to render etc than Software Only.

  • Warp stabilizer crops bottom of video!

When I try to stabilize some footage shot with my GoPro Hero 3 Black, warp stabilizer crops off the bottom of the video and greatly reduces the res of the video.
    The steps I am following:
Import video using GoPro Cineform software (This leaves me with an .mp4 file)
Create new sequence from clip in CS6
Apply warp stabilizer to section of the clip
    Render
Watch - and the clip has the bottom 1/3rd cut off and the video looks out of focus.
I cant for the life in me figure out what is going on! Please help!
    Thanks

So, the first image is jsut before it gets to the stabilized section....
Then, as soon as it reaches the selected area that has had the warp stabilizer applied the bottom is cut off!
Am I missing something stupid here?
    Thanks

  • When trying to use warp stablizer in premiere warp stabilizer required clip dimensions

    this is the full error.
warp stabilizer required clip dimensions to match sequence
i dont know how to make it know the dimensions
i know in after effects i would jjust drag it and cick analize

Thanks. I am not sure that the sequence did not match the footage, as they are all the same, and match what the file into says as compared to what the camera they were shot with shows, but I seem to have apparently not properly 'imported' the file into my project in the first place. I watched a video and saw the 'scrub' function working on clips that were drug into the project, so I thought you could just drag clips into the project pane, and that is how I got clips into the project. I can scrub them, place them in a sequence, and even make a DVD or BRay disc. However even though this technique seemed to work, as noted I could not apply the warp stabilizer. So, I played around a bit more since my posting, and found a particular discussion and essentially tried the idea you suggest, to 'import a clip into a new sequence'. Sure enough, when the clip was imported, it opened in its own new sequence, and when I tried Warp stabilizer, it actually started working! Finished up ok. The clip was nicely stabilized, very nice. So essentially it seems that the act of officially importing the clip caused the proper sequence settings have been accepted, as opposed to simply being readable by the user when looking at the clip sequence data (via the pull down menu).
So now I wanted to put that stabilized sequence into my project. I could not 'copy and paste' it as it was from the sequence it which I had imported it, but I saw a new 'stabilized version of the file' in the project files area that did not have any direct video associated with it. And this was the repaired video! So, I place it in my project, it shows up with a green tint, and plays fine. However, I cannot get it to 'render' when I click on the red 'line' above and hit the return key. This same action worked when the original file was warp stabilized, and I could get the red line to turn green after the render. However, I can not get it to render in my project. What am I missing? And thanks in advance for the help. I am getting there.....

  • Warp Stabilizer crops bottom of video if videos layers are beneath it for no reason.  Why???

Warp Stabilizer crops bottom of video if videos layers are beneath it for no reason.  Why???
remove the layers beneath and it's fine.  Hopefully adobe addresses this issue asap to save all of us a good amount of time.

I have noticed similar: apply crop to a layer and with all settings at 0 a line of underlying video can be seen at the bottom.

  • Warp stabilizer cropping/position issue?

So I don't think I've ever had this issue and I'm wondering if has to do with using it on a 13" macbook, since i've never had this issue on my iMac, but when I place the warp stabilizer effect the clip turns into a small cropped corner like so in the photo. This happens with any clip even if I try to adjust the stabilizer settings. Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi mlhidalgo,
Please go to File > Project settings > General and change the GPU Acceleration to Mercury Playback Engine software only. After you will click ok, it will ask you to delete previews or keep previews. Choose Delete previews and see if it helps.
Also, please report if you have Intel Iris graphics.
    Thanks!

  • Warp Stabilization crops to letterbox?

I cant quite put my finger on just what is going on here,
but I think Warp Stabilisation is pulling a bit of a weird crop job on my footage.
The letterboxing effect seems to increase as I decrease the maximum scale slider.
What im doing is replacing a clip with an after effects composition in premiere pro,
and then simply dragging the warp stabilizer ontop of the footage to let it do its thing.
Any advice or ideas on whats going on?
Running windows 7 64bit, AE version 10.5.0.253, PP version 5.5.0.233

Youre indeed right about there being lots of movement, this is the start of a video with a small airplane darting off.
Your arguement that maximum scaling is too small doesnt seem to hold up to my problem though.
If I increase the maximum, the letterboxing gets even worse.
My goal is to get a steady shot of an aircraft in the air.
Tracking points dont seem to take hold of them, and warp stabilize also seems to get confused.
The only program that can do it flawlessly is deshaker in virtualdub.
How I wish I had that plugin for Premiere Pro.

  • Smart playlist long list of criteria extends off screen - help!

I subscribe to a lot of podcasts and use several smart playlists to group and organize them. When creating criteria for the smart playlist, sometimes the list extends off the bottom of the screen, and unlike the usual Mac interface, no scroll bar appears on the window. This isn't really a problem (I'm able to keep adding to the playlist using the + button near the top of the window) but makes going back and editing or removing items that can't be seen on screen impossible.
Can anyone suggest a solution to "scroll up" on these long lists of smart playlist criteria that disappear off screen?
I thought it might help make sense of my ramblings if I included a link to a screenshot showing what I'm asking about:

I have found the only solution right now is to create sub-smart playlists and then group those in the main playlist.
For example, say for music you have...
    Any of the following:
    Band is Devo
    Band is B-52s
    . [more rules]
    Band is ELO
    Band is Heart
    . [more rules]
    Band is Bad Religion
    Band is NoFX
    . [more rules]
that you can take groups of them and put them into their own Smart Playlists like New Wave, Classic Rock, and Punk then your HUGE playlist you can remove those bands and put in to include the New Wave, Classic Rock, and Punk playlists, then add what ever extra rules you have.

  • Warp stabilizer requires clip dimensions to match sequence ( fix by nesting) HOW

I have a sequence with HDV files and MOV flles. when using warp stabilizer it  comes up with  ( clip dimensions to match sequence ) ( fix by nesting)   HOW

After nesting the clip. Set the dimensions and frame rate of the nested clip to match the clip dimensions and frame rate. The nesting command can probably be found the sequence or clip menu.

  • Warp Stabilizer Constantly Crashing Premiere Pro CC 2014

I have never had an issue applying warp stabilizer to clips, now it constantly crashes my system during the analyze phase. Does not seem to be an issue with any other effects. Have the most current version of premiere CC 2014. Running Windows 8.1 Plenty of memory, etc. Has never been an issue, now it happens every time! Help!!

I am having similar issue - without the crashing. Any clips I use warp stabilizer on do not retain their render after I close the project.
What version of Premiere Pro? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Pro CS5.5 with the 5.5.2 update).   v8.0.1 (21) build  2014.0.1 release
Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.) Cloud says i'm up to date
What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".  Windows 8.1
What kind(s) of source footage? When telling about your source footage, tell us about the codecs, not just the container types. For example, "H.264 in a .mov container", not just "QuickTime".    mp4 from a gopro
If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)? no error
What were you doing when the problem occurred?
Has this ever worked before? no
What other software are you running? Chrome
Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed? No
Tell us about your computer hardware. Be especially certain to tell us about third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU).  Dell latitude e7440 8gb ram, ssd
Are you using Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration? i dont think so
Does the problem only happen with your final output, with previews, or both?  clips do not stay rendered in timeline after saving/close a project and reopen

  • Black Magic and Warp Stabilizer

I am working with 6.0, Footage is P2, Sequence is Black Magic Progressive @ 29.97 / 1920x1080. Black Magic board is Decklink 3d Extreme.
Black Magic Drop Down in "New Sequence Setting Box" shows no 1280x1080 option which is P2.  All Black Magic options are 1920x1080, progressive or interlaced.
When I drop the Warp Stabilizer onto a clip (P2) I get the message:
"Warp Stabilizer requires clip dimensions to match sequence"
How do I get around this, using the Black Magic Sequence and P2 footage?

With CS6, you shouldn't.  Any sequence should output via the hardware just fine.  Though I've never used that hardware, so I can't comment specifically on how to get that going.  See if this helps.

  • Warp stabilizer - change of directories

I'm having trouble with warp stabilizer and hope someone can help.  I need to mention I'm brand new to using NLEs and am following along with tutorials for about 2 weeks to learn, so I am a very basic user.
I created my sequence by selecting multiple clip in my bin and dragging them onto the "New Item" icon at the bottom of the bin, allowing Premiere Pro to auto choose all the settings based on the footage by canceling when it popped up the window with all the many many choices about your footage format. The footage is just something I found online for the tutorial.  I used "Warp Stabilizer" on a clip that was jumpy and it worked fine.  I did not save, or I thought it autosaved but did not.   I then installed a program called "Post Haste" which creates an organized series of folders for your projects.  I did this because I am trying to learn good practices and being organized seems to be very important.
I then went to "Finder (I'm on a Mac) and moved all my files for this project into the folders that "Post Haste" created.  When I restarted PPcs6 it asked me where all the files were and I went and found them all and it appeared initially that everything was  working fine(or at least it looked the same), until I tried to do the Warp Stabilizer again on exactly the same clip I had before (as I mentioned I did not save).  This time I got the message "Warp Stabilizer requires clip dimensions to match sequence"  I should also say that my fps seems to be 24 which I'm not sure they were before.  I should note that I'm in the US so I'd rather be working in NTSC and not PAL.  So naturally I'm a bit frustrated and more over baffled as to what happened.  I am assuming that moving the files to new folders somehow broke the settings.  I did find an article on Premiere Pro Project Manager which initially makes me believe that I should have somehow set up settings before moving my files but the article was very brief and I did not really get that much from it.
So  I guess my questions are:  What happened? How do I fix it?  Did I break/change my settings by moving my files?   Did the clips change from my sequence settings to their individual clip settings?  I 'm not sure what format the footage I am using was shot with/in, but since it is civil war reenactment footage I'd say it was NOT shot for PAL.   So how did it move to 24fps?  (isn't this PAL and should I not want 30fps?)
Is there a way for me to fix the entire timeline settings to all match the sequence or should I start again?
Any help including best practices going forward would be greatly appreciated.

If your timeline consists of different dimensions and the clip you want to stabilize does not match the sequence, just nest the clip and the add the Warp Stabilizer.

  • Getting an error when trying to use warp stabilizer

I made a picture slideshow with some videos and I am trying to stabilize my videos. When I click on "Analyze" a red bar comes up saying: "Warp Stabilizer requires clip dimensions to match sequence". Is there an easy was to transfer everything over to a new sequence that matches the dimensions? Also I am using Premiere Pro CS6.

Try nesting the clips and then adding the warp stabiliser to the nest.

  • Steps to send a clip to AE to utilize Warp Stabilizer VFX then back to Premiere Pro CC

So I use Warp Stabilizer for about 200 clips per project. It's effectiveness has shaped how I shoot. It's awesome. Now there's VFX in AE...Can someone layout the steps involved in the following:
    a) Taking a clip from Premiere Pro CC and sending it to After Effects CC (I'm not that versed in using AE having not used it in quite a while)
    b) Then how to apply the new Warp Stabilizer VFX (I assume just go to effects>distort>WarpStabilizerVFX ???) ... (if there are tutorials on how exactly to use it, especially detailing exactly how to utilize the new feature of isolating what in the frame is to be stabilized that would be great too)
    c) Then how to send it back to Premiere Pro CC. (I'm guessing I just save it and let dynamic link take care of the rest?)
I've tried right-clicking on a clip and selecting "replace with AE composition" (is that what I should do?), then applying the effect but I get a "warp stabilizer VFX analysis doesn't work with Collapse Transformations" message so I stopped. If it makes any difference, the majority of my footage is shot at 60p and then interpreted and edited at 23.976fps. Thanks!
NOTE TO STAFF: I've said it before and I'll say it again as someone who uses warp stabilizer several hundred times per week, I still think the default "method" in the settings should be "Position, Scale, Rotation" instead of Subspace Warp because it works FAR better (less wobble and less scaling about 90% of the time). Can't help myself I had to bring that up again here.

    a) Select a clip in PrPro timeline, right-click and choose 'Replace With After Effects Composition'. Take care of handles if you might need them (that's rather general tip).
Warning about Collapse Transformation switch indicates that you have 'Scale to Frame Size' option enabled for your clips in PrPro timeline. If that was done intentionally, you can simply toggle the Collapse Transformation switch (small sun icon) off. If not, rather disable 'Scale to Frame Size' for your clips in PrPro timeline.
    b) Quite a boring but covering almost all necessary details tutorial on basic work with Warp Stabilizer in AE CC from Adobe TV:
    Some advanced techniques from Lynda.com
    and Mathias Möhl:
    c) When you're happy with your work in AE and going to lock it, render a digital intermediate out of AE, import it into PrPro and replace your dynamically linked composition in the timeline with that DI (see this good old thread on Dynamic Link workflow, pay attention to Todd's comments).
If you leave the 'Include Project Link' checkbox in the Output Module Settings dialog enabled while rendering your DI, you can easily get back to appropriate AE project so as to maybe tweak some settings: just select your DI in PrPro timeline, right-click and choose 'Edit Original'.
Mind the bloating issue, keep the amount of applied Warp Stabilizer instances in a single AE project reasonable.
