Video errors for 30g ipod video

Can someone help me? I have a video file i converted to the proper format for my ipod and I was able to transfer it to the ipod, but when I try to play it on the ipod all I get is a black screen and no sound and after about 30 seconds it goes back to the menu.

I think it might need to be converted again...
If you used iTunes's option to "Convert to iPod" it might not have worked properly (iTunes is limited in the types of files it can work with). You might want to try Googling iPod Video Converter, downloading and installing a third party program, running the file through that, and then trying it on the iPod again.
I've used Videora in the past and have had some decent results with it.

Solar chargers for 30G iPod Video

Has anyone had any experience using any of the small solar chargers on the market that state they work with iPods. Most of them state that they are useable with iPods but I think they all are tested with the Nano or Mini only, and I'm wondering if they may be a little substandard when used with the larger iPods. Also if anyone has electronic knowledge, can you tell me how to decipher the electronic specs that are listed for them, and which one may be the best one to get. They all list specs differently, and I don't know which ones are important.

What is the best case for 30GB iPod Video?

I recently purchased a 30GB iPod Video and I am wondering which hard shell case is best? I only use my iPod for casual use (carrying around) NOT for the gym, sports, water or things like that. I just want to ensure the best protection for the color screen.

Carry Case for 80G iPod Video

I've looked everywhere for a carry case for my iPod 80g video but can't find anything to suit. I mostly use it in the car, shut away in the glove box, and wanted something that allows me to plug in the stereo lead with the iPod still in case. I was hoping to get something with room to store the headphones and a extra lead etc.
Any suggestions?

Van hello. You should never keep your iPod in your glove compartment as one day you'll find that it will stop working because of excess heat, cold or humidity. Try to take it with you (if possible). Software update for refurbished iPod touch

We just bought (last week) and received (today) a refurbished 2G touch from the Apple Store. It is running version 2.2.1; do we really have to pay for the update to version 3.0?

In a word yes (legally that is - and if you go down the other route you could end up with a brick for an iPod). Not totally sure it is worth it though as i've done it and i'm now wondering why. Check what you get before you just decide to do it as most of the features aren't that great and i can understand you wanting the upgrade for an iPhone - mms, cut and paste, searching, voice recorder...I thought it would enable bluetooth so i could put stuff on it without iTunes, but the bluetooth that is enabled only allows synching with headphones i think so not great (that's the only reason i would think you might want it unless i've missed something).

How can I reset the settings for my Ipod Video on the Ipod source list.

I accidentally choose the 3rd option (do not update video) on the Ipod option button >>> video <<< and for that reason I can't download or play video. How can I reset the setting in order for me to enable to update my Ipod for the videos manualy.
I open itunes and select the Ipod in the source list, then click on the option button and click video. But from there, I can't select the options... please advice ASAP, Thanks...<br>
