Warranty: global coverage?

Hello everyone!
Tell me please, is warranty real outside US? I checked warranty by this link and it showed that warranty has global coverage. Problem is that my new touchpad don't turn on, I trying suggestions on this site and other forums, but they didn't help. I live in Russia and bought touchpad on ebay. Can I pass off my touchpad in regional HP service center?

I just called Apple and they confirmed that it is ok to buy the plan from the U.S. store. If you have a U.S. shipping and billing address that's all that matters. The coverage still applies to your iMac purchased in and being used in Japan.
This is a savings of about $100 this way.

Has anybody heard if the Droid X will be upgraded to a true global phone with 4 bands of coverage? I blelive that it is only a 3 band phone currently.

Haven't heard this information but unless this can be done through a software upgrade I don't see it happening, you can not receive a signal the device receiver isn't designed to work with unless the signal is on a similar bandwidth wave signal.

Does the year 1 warranty include coverage for a shattered screen?

My MacBook Pro was shatteresd in my checked luggage on a recent trip. Does the year 1 warranty cover this? If not, does anyone know approx how much it is to fix?

The above answers are correct and AppleCare doesn't cover it either.
Here are some options to consider:
Look online for a replacement display (±$800 depending lon the size) DIY consider buying a tools kit
There are places that will do the repair and return it within 24 hours
Bring it to the Apple Store and ask them if they can send it to the "Depot." But I don't understand their policy for this. For example, I had the motherboard die on a 2006 MacBook. They quoted $435 to repair it in-house but $280 if they send it out to the Depot. They quote a flat rate for "repair" and then fix everything they find. The Apple Store sent it to the Depot. They replaced the Motherboard, top case, bottom case, battery, internal cables, screen bezel and a the SuperDrive for $280 TOTAL!

Guys, I'll be receiving a MacBook Pro bought in the US as a gift. I'm from UK, will the voltage difference (110v to 220v) and warranty/insurance coverage be an issue? Any other issues to face?

Normally the voltage difference is not a problem because the charger can handle both.
I am not sure about the adapter plug: the wall sockets in UK and USA may be different, use a simple (earthed!) adapter for that if necessary.
The rest should be the same, although two keys on the keyboard might be different (@ is shift-2, try to find the other...).

I went to few apple reseller to ask about the new iPad gen 4th's warranty service coverage. They all told me that it is worldwide warranty. Is that right?

Global Warranty and some UK/US Spec differences??

I'm in the UK and there are a number of well rated sellers on various websites selling new unopened US imported playbooks.
I have a few questions...
Is the warranty global, no problems if I have a warranty issue in the UK?
Are there any disadvantages to buying a non-uk playbook?
Will there be any issues, e.g. the App Store in dollars, connectivity issues, wrong keyboard layout etc. etc.?
Any help guidance is appreciated, just want to find the best deal.

MacBook Pro's warranty outside USA

Hello guys,
I am going to visit USA and buy a MacBook Pro 15 " Retina. My question is when I come back to Bulgaria ( where I live ) will my MacBook still got a warranty and if it brеак or something like that can I bring it to the local apple reseller to fix it ?

I am not sure about the standard warranty but this page states that with Apple Care (extra cost) it will have global coverage.

Regarding international warranty.!

I have serious issue regarding my laptop. Ireally expect a good support from HP. HP provides Global Warranty in 180 countries. I bought an Hp Envy 15z-j100 earlier in March 2014. After August my Display got a black dot and it just started increasing. I was shocked because it kept increasing to the whole screen even if my laptop was just on the desk.
Here's a picture of it.
This is how it looks. I asked HP to provide with warranty to me in India. Originally i have bought this laptop from US.
They disagree beacuase they say the same product should be available in my country India. When i checked out there are no products with the same name available in any country. Infact i checked out other products too.. There are no Envy series product that are common in any country. Then why do they use the word "Global Coverage" in their warranty terms? If there is anything i could do then do suggest. Thank you.!

There are restriction to international warranty and unless you can send it back to the US to have repairs done to it if the warranty doesn't have it then chances are you will not get it repaired. Not all products would be covered under international warranty just because they say that on their website if that unit when you bought it doesn't give that option then it most likely doesn't come with that option. Also when you bought it did you ask them then if this unit come with internatinal warranty as well? Asking after the facts might be why you can't also get the warranty or since that isn't a Business model or high enough level laptop that everyday consumer laptop don't get International warranty since it was limited to US model thus leaving it out of International warranty. But this is something one should be asking if they do alot of travel or come and go aboard to ask such warranty questions. So as it seems now unless you can send it back to have it fixed in the US your laptop is as is now can't be fixed in India since they don't honor US warranty.

i was at the stanford apple store and asked them the same question. they advised me to buy the applecare where i purchased the laptop and then take it overseas.

I think you should call the store closest to the place you'll be living to ask what the right thing to do is?

We live in USA and wish to purchase a Macbook Pro computer for our foreign exchange daughter, who has returned to Guatemala. is it better to buy it here and hand carry or wait and buy it there? we want to get her warranty and repair benefits

we live in Californina and will be travelling to Guatemala City next month to attend our Foreign Exchange Daughters graduation. We want to buy her a Macbook Pro as a gift and purchase the warranty/protection coverage for her. We are concerned she will not be entitled to any Apple Support/warranty by it being purchased in USA but using it and living in Guatemala.
It is better to wait and buy it from a retailer there in Guatemala?

Another question. If I'm travelling and the phone suddenly breaksdown near a Nokia service center, can I then take it in regardless of where I bought it?

If the seller was not Amazon but a reseller using the Amazon Marketplace then it would normally remain the responsibility of that seller, not Amazon. Hopefully product arrived with some form of paperwork with their contact details; you would have to hope that they would treat their customers in an honourablle mannerin such circumstances.

Equipment warranty

Iam creating assets as Equipment(in Pm Module).i maintained Vendor warranty for equipments.
but i wnat to get notifications if the wannarty expires .
how can i get it. any configuartion required.

There are two ways that I can think of:
1. Create a single call maintenance plan for just the warranty. It's actually tied to the equipment, but has when the warranty expires as its call date.
2. Write a program that selects the warranties about to expire and generate notices from the program.
I'd use option 1 because it doesn't require any coding. A task list can be established for what needs to happen upon expiration. It can also be multiple counter based too (e.g. mileage and/or time). If it is a non-renewable warranty (e.g. 50,000 miles), this would be a single cycle plan. The problem is making sure that the maintenance plan matches the warranty's coverage.

Can anyone tell me how I can get my IPad 3G verizon (cracked glass from display) repaired from Belgium. They denied service twice ?

I have purchased on the 29th of April 2011 in Florida US an Ipad WI-FI 3G 64GB Verizon. Now I have a serious issue in getting this repaired. When I purchased the device I was told by the salesman of the store that I had global coverage in repairs and even going through the Apple support website this is confirmed but in practice this does not seem to be the case.
I have offered my Ipad 2 for repair now twice in my Home coutnry Belgium and on both occasions was denied repair as I purchased the device in the US. I have contacted Apple support in Belgium, first time they confirmed I could get the repair the second time they told me that the device could not be repaired as it is a Verizon device and that I should contact Verizon instead. I contacted them in Europe but they refered me back to Apple.
Now I do not know what to do anymore? I will gladly pay for the repair and will gladly send it by insured postal service to anywhere but since I do not live in the US I cannot stop by the store for repair.
I hope anyone can help me with this issue?

I'd love to know how Apple can expect a phone company to replace broken glass on their own product.
Threaten them with media coverage on the issue, they'll realise you mean business. If you get the same run around from the support person (who is most likely in a call centre in some Asian country) ask to speak to a Supervisor.
The way I read the warranty it is supposed to be World-wide.
