I boutght it the USA. I hope it is still under warranty....i hate to ask, but i cant figure out where the rma page is. can someone help me out please?
Oh, BTW, i looked around for some contact info for MSI, but all i could find was a link to their web site.....From INSIDE the site itself!!!!  The page listed all kinds of other companies, and thire addresses and phone numbers, but not MSI's. Anyone have any helpfull tips or hints?
Not to worry.  I think I can be of some assistance here.
You might want to print these directions out because its a little confusing and you won't have to switch back and forth between windows to follow all the complicated steps:
1. Go to MSI USA Website
2. On navigation bar, click where it says "Customer Service/RMA"
3. See all the information you need right in front of you!

"...the other memory ive been using is  memorymaxx 512mb ddr 3200..." If I understood right, your'e actually using both memories at same time so, your'e lucky if it works. We have said thousand times that mixing dif. brand/make/speed memories is a bad idea, most with this Mobo that is very picky about ram. If you want to avoid slowdown problems, stay with only one stick ( the better one ) until you can buy at same time in same store, 2 identical memories to replace the old one.

  • Warranty Length for K7N2 Delta-ILSR

What is the mfg's warranty length on the K7N2 Delta-ILSR?
I filled out the online support form earlier today but no response as of yet, and me being the impatient rascal I am, I didn't want to wonder all weekend. I bought it October, 2003 and the floppy drive controller seems to have gone out.
    Thanks!
    HH

    Thank you, Glenn!
Looks like mine is 2 yrs. & 4 months old. Kind of stinks that I lost 5 months on the warranty by going by the mfg. date instead of date of purchase. Its not worth the hassle & would even cost more to RMA it for the controller. Ahh, but this is IT, the "World of Workarounds". I'll live!
    Thanks for your time, Glenn!

  • Recommended CPU coolers for K7N2 Delta?

Hi guys, is there a FAQ or something with recommended CPU coolers that will mount properly on the K7N2 Delta series of motherboards?
Reason I'm asking is that I want to get a really nice cooler, but don't want to get stuck like I did with the ThermalTake Silent Tower (which won't mount on the motherboard due to no retention holes for the screws it needs).
    Thanks for any advice!

    Thats a nice looking cooler.

    I like Coolermaster.
The Aero7 lite is better than the Aero7+.
Unfortunately I bought the Aero7+ and noticed that my Xdream heatsink is better.

When problems occur go back to basics.  You stated D: is unreadable but C: partition is readable (if I understood right).
As sharp said use only one stick of ram.  Remove any additional PCI cards installed other than Video.  Do not plug in anything but the hard drive set to master.
Check to see if system will detect.
If at this point it properly detects your drive, check for a boot to windows.  If it boots then remove the hard drive and try just the CD-ROM for detection purposes.  If this detects try them together again, if they fail to detect you most likely have a power supply issue.  And yes, PSU issues can crop up very suddenly.
If this fails take the Hard Drive to a friend and have them test it along with the CD-RW/ROM drives.  If they work there and your issue still persists when you have eliminated all other possible points of failure you probably have a bad motherboard.
Sorry i forgot to tell that the harddisk that the D: cannot unreadable is i check it on other system as a slave.
Okay i will try your suggestion.
    Thanks for your comment

    Hello,
Does anyone know of with Linux distro is compatible with the K7N2 Delta Series?
    Sincerely, Deft

Knoppix worked too, even my TvTuner worked.
Not that I would recommend Knoppix as a solution, I was just playing.
There is a lot more support for the nvidia kit now.

  • Cannot install LAN driver for my "KT6 Delta Series" motherboard

I've got this motherboard (KT6 Delta Series). Bought it second hand recently and I haven't got the original MSI driver CD. I downloaded all the drivers from the MSI website (http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_detail.php?UID=474&kind=1) but I'm not able to install the driver for my onboard LAN.
I just get a yellow dot on the ethernet controller under unknown devices in my device manager. When I try to update driver from device manager by searching the folder where I unzipped the driver, I just get a message saying something like "no driver could be found for this device in the selected folder... will you connect to Windows Update to search for a driver...?". I've also tried to install it the hard way by selecting "from floppy disc" and browse for the "b44win.inf" file inside the "WinXP" folder in the unzipped driver folder... but I stilll get an error message... saying something like "can't find any information of the hardware in the selected folder"... it's a bit difficult for me to describe the messages correctley because not English Windows version.
I've downloaded both LAN drivers for this card from MSI download site (http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_detail.php?UID=474&kind=1). Both "Broadcom 5788 LAN Drivers" and "Broadcom 4401 LAN Drivers" and non of them will install on my system. I've also tried downloading from the Broadcom website (http://www.broadcom.com/drivers/downloaddrivers.php). NON of them will install (
I've just formated my harddrive with fresh Windows XP install... The only software already installed is drivers for my motherboard and AGP card. No other software that can make any conflicts. When I connect a network cable to the onboard LAN the yellow light goes on so it seems the card itself is working.... but where can I get a driver that will install???
I've also tried connecting another network card (realtek 10/100) and connected my ADSL internett through it... and used the MSI Live Update utility... but still no luck... the only network driver it gets is the one for my reltek card :-(
    Any suggestions???
I use Windows XP Professional SP2. How do I install the drivers for my onboard LAN???
    Best regard.

"...so my onboard Broadcom 4401/5788 controller thinks it is a 3COM controller instead of a broadcom controller..." Think it shouldn't be possible since basic data should be written in a kind of ROM.  Now, if that could happen, it should be possible to reverse it the same way you did to overwrite that data.
I belive you are right... but I can't reverse it the same way I did when overwrite the data... because I'm not able to install the driver :( I cannot install the driver at all in Windows XP. In Windows ME it's possible to force the installation of the driver... but it does not work. It moves from unknown devices to network controllers... but it gets a yellow dot... and is not working. Every time I boot Windows ME I get a message reporting that something is wrong with the broadcom ethernet controller :(
I belive the only way I can reverse it is to replace my harddrive with another... with Windows XP and drivers for my card is already installed on the harddrive... the same way as I did when overwriting the rom file(s) with data from my Asus board... but I can't make such a harddrive when the drivers won't install on my card :(
I maybe think this also has happend to the onboard Audio controller... and maybe the chipsett also :( The audio controller works perfectley eith the MSI C-Media drivers... but when I run MSI live update... I get drivers for the C-Media device... but also drivers for "VIA AC97" audio controller can be downloaded from the MSI Live Update Utility... The "VIA AC97" is the audio controller on my Asus board... so I belive it has happened here also... and maybe also to the "VIA 4in1" chipset... but this is the same "VIA KT600" chipset as on my Asus board. When updating my Via 4in1 driver, I just get an option to update the inf file. But normaly on "Via 4in1" drivers on other boards I know, there shold be installed drivers for PCI, IDE and AGP. Is it the same way for you guys with this motherboard? Is it only the "Inf file" to update for you guys also?
What I think is most frustrating here is that things like this cab happen. This can happen to everybody. Many times I've switched harddrive from one computer to another... and I've never experienced anything like this before. This time I was not planing to boot the harddrive at all... just format it... but forgot to set the right boot order... so the harddrive booten... and that's all it takes to "destroy" my board. Shouldn't these ROM files be a littlebit more difficult to overwrite, you think? Why doesn't MSI writeprotect their ROM files or anything... to make them a littlebit more difficult to destroy...?
Well... I'm still interested in advices on how to "restore" my motherboard data to the original values... and remember... clear CMOS and update BIOS is not enough :(

  • Another help request for K7N2-delta

I was trying to overclock my memory and when my system rebooted after saving my settings in the bios, I just get a black screen. On the D-bracket, the top two are red and hangs there, which, according to the manual, means that either my processor is damaged or not installed properly.
I tried rebooting in safe mode by changing my J10 jumper and clearing the cmos but to no avail. Could I have damaged my CPU just by changing a setting?

Guys, the Insert key reset was for the K7N2-Delta2 series, which didn't have the safemode FSB jumper, it does not apply to the K7N2 Delta
You're asking for trouble by a) using cheap value-branded RAM, and b) mixing sticks of different sizes
Also you always get best results by running memory clock at same speed as CPU FSB clock.
Take out all the sticks of RAM and have just one installed, then see if it will start up again
I read a review of how well this memory overclocks, so I thought I'd give it a shot.  Also, the value-brand for Corsair is rated just under their XMS series; it's solid as far as I can tell.
Anywho, I've always had the 256mb one in the slot ever since the incident anyways. Thanks for the warning, I never knew mixing different sizes had negative effects.

I own this board... it's not the insert key, but rather the delete key... so yes, as soon as your pc boots up, hit the delete key repeatedly (or hold it down) and then it will let you go into the BIOS.
I'll try that once I get home. Thanks for the info!

"I was trying to overclock my memory..."
There is a miss-print in your manual for the CPU D-LED, I had the same in my K7N2G-ILSR manual.
So it's stuck at the hard drive or at the system power on? I'm assuming the latter since my hard drive shouldn't be having any problems.
Yea, I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to try this. This is what I get for it, I guess.

  • Kingston HyperX Memory for K7N2 Delta-ILSR

Hey will my K7N2 Delta-ILSR support the Kingston HyperX serises DDR400-512MB Ram?
Im looking to buy 2 maybe 3 of these and really want to be sure theyll work.
    http://www.ec.kingston.com/shop/partsinfo.asp?ktcpartno=KHX3200A/256&promo=hx2shp
I checked the supported ram list for the K7N2 Delta-ILSR  and they wernt on there so i just figured it may be out of date?
So thanx in Advance for info!
    p.s. It will support 3x 512MB right?

Has anyone noticed how the Hyper X went from the poor-man's Corsair to being priced equal to OCZ, and usually higher then Geil, as well as usually being very close to Corsair, if not the same? I think only Mushkin beats it out now price-wise...

What's that? You already asked for that in another thread (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=123557.msg932826#msg932826). Please don't open various threads for the same issue.
I already said in the other thread you can't set 16 manually. Set it to auto.
