I bought a brand new iPhone 4 less than a month ago but it had a problem with the camera so I sent it to the warranty. I am getting a refurbished one??? thanks

I spoke with an AT&T agent today and she provided the following information with regard to warranty info when choosing a refurb or a new iphone 4S.

Our standard 30-day return policy applies on both new and refurbished models. Does anyone how I can get a brand new iPhone 3GS as a warranty replacement for my iPhone 3GS? I already had the phone replaced once with a refurbished phone that has a problem with becoming frozen and unresponsive. This occurred ten times since I got the phone on 4/16/2011. I have tried doing a hard reset and have also restored the phone as a new device. I have an Apple Care plan. I am concerned that the refurbished phones will not be reliable due to my experience with the refurbished one that I got as a replacement.

Adding to KC7GNM's remark (with which I agree), the iPhone 5 you received is very likely refurbished. It is not brand new out-of-the-box, never before used.

If your phone is officially unlocked, you will get an officially unlocked iPhone if yours is replaced under warranty. Apple maintains a data base of officially unlocked iPhones & can verify whether your phone is officially unlocked or not. To be safe, point this out to the genius bar, if you go to an Apple store or whoever you talk to, if dealing with AppleCare.

as long as it comes from another EU country .Apple do not repair they exchange for a refurbished unit if a warranty issue or charge for an Out of Warranty exchange unit if you have damaged or caused the issue through misuse

I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version. I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again. I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again. My blue tooth doesn't work either. I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this. When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue. My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!! I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue. Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it. Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple.

I have a brand new iphone 4s unlocked version from singapore and I am experiencing constant network fluctuations on my iphone , no service, call failed, invalid sim, sim failure, bars fluctuating from 5 - 3 - 2 - 1, no signal/bars searching etc... Ifeel miserable after trying out all the options changed multiple sims, tried multiple carriers, restored the phone back and have set-up as new device but the problem does not get solved... its is so frustrating that after investing on a world's most expensive phone you cannot enjoy the calling features which the phone offers which is the main thing you own the phone for.. Rest of the things are working.. The funniest part I am not able to make calls or receive calls but can access the internet.. I have tried every possible thing and really very frustrated with this iphone of mine...I hope the problem gets solved.. would anyone have any solutions to this problem.. Does it mean one should never update software as I hear that after updating to IOS.5.1 the problem has started coming and same has been with there.... Apple says its a hardware failure which is very difficult to digest as sometimes I get 5 bars and able to make and receive calls but 95% of the time I am unable to. If anyone has any solution I will be very happy if he or share can share the same. Whenever I try to sync my 3gs to my laptop itunes only gives me two options: set up as new iphone or restore to a backup. I already mistakenly restored the phone to a previous back up and the options are still the same. I am using itunes 10.4.1.10.

Back in March my PC crashed while updating my Iphone 3Gs. Both froze and were rendered unusable. The Iphone had to be restored to factory settings in order to be used. The PC required more work and was delayed by warranty issues. In the meantime I bought a laptop and installed the newest version of Itunes. Itunes recognizes my phone but only comes up as "Set up your Iphone" with two subsequent options: set up as new iphone or restore from back up. I have mistakenly chosen the option to restore it back to July 2, 2011 when I last synced. No big deal, but it will not let me go beyond that screen and I cannot transfer my recovered apps or anything else. Any help on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You don't. Apple's warranty provides for replacing your device with an identical model (same model, carrier, capacity & color).
And you aren't getting a new iPhone. You'll be getting a remanufactured iPhone, which has gone through a more thorough inspection than any new iPhone ever does.
If you want a newer model, then trade-in or privately sell your current device and use the proceeds towards purchasing another device.

Apple does not offer an exchange program.
Physical damage (scratches) are not covered under the warranty.
If you desire a blemish free iPhone, buy a new one at full price then sell your current one to recoup some of the costs.
