Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Delete the email. The zip file will have no effect on your iPhone.

Difference between WAS and Netweaver

Hi Experts,
In Web Application Server (WAS) we have ABAP+JAVA combindly. But in Netweaver Why JAVA and ABAP stacks are separated. What is the difference between WAS and Netweaver?

I am a newbie to UPK..
Just tried installing UPK Developer Server + Client on my local machine, and hit upon the following error that I have no idea of !!
Service status check
Setup cannot determine if Windows Process Activation Service (WAS) and World Wide Web Publishing are installed on the computer.
Confirm that Windows Process Activation Service (WAS) and World Wide Web Publishing are installed and running on the computer.
Please select another configuration.

I am using Win 7 Ultimate.. 32 bit.. ran the Installer with Administrator privileges already !!
Any help from you, in case you have the solution, would be highly appreciated.. :)

Hi Sahil,
Couple of things here - The server component on UPK can only be installed on Windows Server 2003 or 2008 - so it seems as if you are choosing the incorrect installation option when running the setup. There are normally a few options when you run the setup for UPK - these include the following:
1. Developer Client
2. Developer Server
3. Developer Server and Client
4. Developer Single User
5. Knowledge Center
You should be selecting option 4 - Developer Single user. This will install all binaries required (including the database) to your local machine. This option is not used as a multi-user environment, but rather for sole use on your PC/laptop. If you intend on installing on a multi-user environment, you will need to review the Tech Specs for UPK to ensure that you meet the Hardware and Software requirements.
The errors you are receiving about WAS is related to IIS. You need to ensure that the role for IIS is installed on your machine - The webserver component of UPK utilises IIS.

WAS is an incorrect shortform for SAP WebAS. If you refer to any official documentation, SAP always mentions it as SAP WebAS only. WAS is used more for websphere application server

WebAS form the application platform for almost all NW components and comes in different flavors as ABAP Only / ABAP + Java / Java Only.
ABAP + Java flavor is the one which forms the base of SAP XI and XI basically uses all the services offered by this application platform. refer help link for more details..

There are still two types of server:
The WebAS, part of the Netweaver product. Currenttly it's 6.4 withing NW2004, but eraly next year it's called WebAs 7 within NW2004S.
The R/3 server, now called mySAP ERP (2005).
Since R/3 4.7EE, the base/core for R/3 and WebAs are the same. For 4.7 it's 6.2.
Purpose of SAP XI with SAP WebAS

All the adapters written in JAVA(EJBs) and deployed into J2EE Engine .They are JCA (Java Connector Architecture) complaint.
Goto Communication channel > Module and check Module Name.....
That module has written in EJBs and depolyed into J2EE Egine. You can see this module in Visual Administrator > Service > Deploy.
This means the WebAS is supporting this J2EE Egine.
SAP Netweaver is platform indepent means it both OS + DB independent. How it is achieving this platform indepent. That is because of WebAS.
Earlier R2 use to run on IBM Mainframs
R3 is running on Basis
Now SAP Netweaver is running on WAS. WAS in nothing but basis.
SAP Netweaver WebAS is just an extenstion of R3 BASIS
ccBPM
CCBPM is a solution providing to a kind of function and to signify little wider sense where integration extend across enterprise and application boundaries.
BPM is used to implement work-flow spanning across multiple application system against embedding the parts of work-flow in application system. REG: ESS WAS AND ITS properties for EHP4

Dear All,
We are using Business Package ESS SP6 with EHP4.
My question is which type of Applications are used in this EHP4. (ie., BSP or ABAPwebdynpro or JavaWebDynPro )
If the application types are of JAVA WEBDYNPRO how should we assign the WAS and ITS parameters for SystemObjects like
SAP_BSP_EREC
SAP_R3
SAP_R3_Financials
SAP_ITS_XSS
SAP_WebDynpro_XSS(mainly regarding this system object WAS and ITS properties.)
Please suggest on this.

I started downloading an update without knowing how big the file was and when I found out how big it was decided I didn't want it because I probably won't use it. how do I stop, not pause, the download and remove the file?

Configure WAS and ITS

Can somebody take me through the configuration of SAP Web AS Connection and ITS connection values when defining a connector to an SAP CRM system. The connector is working fine but not the WAS and ITS. Also how can enable logging onto the CRM using Web logon not the windows GUI.

yes, that is my case. I configured the connection to ABAP Part of SAP XI Base, what could be OK. The fields are:
ITS Description: XID
ITS Description: http://swcz0024:8000
ITS Path: sap/bc/gui/sap/its/
ITS Protocol: http
The result from Test Connection is:
Results
1. The system ID is valid
2. Retrieval of the system was successful
3. Retrieval of the default alias was successful
4. The system object represents an SAP system
5. The following parameters are valid: ITS Protocol (http) ITS Host Name (http://swcz0024:8000)
6. User mapping is valid
7. HTTP/S connection failed
For more information, the WAS connection (configured in similar way) does not work as well. I checked SMICM - service on port 8000 is fine.
The connection should be OK since I've made a iView in Visual Composer calling BAPI function in same WAS system (XID) and the iView works properly.
(I mean the hardware connection, I already know the BAPI functions are called/handled over SAP Connector)

WAS and JMS Message Server

Does WAS provide a JMS messaging server (as distinct to just the JMS J2EE interface)? If I want to use WAS and JMS do I need to provide my own server or is it part of WAS?

Yes, SAP Web AS comes with a JMS messaging server (called JMS provider). All it takes is for one computer to be infected by a virus (obviously a PC) that sends all its contacts to the hacker's server, and then all these contacts are used as recipients to scam emails. Hackers even post stolen contacts on the web for others to use.

Problems with RoboHelp 8 HTM and JavaHelp

I was working with RoboHelp 7 and created help. Now I import
my files in RoboHelp 8 and have some problems:
1. In design view files look just fine, but when I generate
javaHelp i have some unwanted characters. At the begining of all
pages and after all images in page I have ">" symbol. What
should I do to lose this unwanted characters.
2. When I generate JavaHelp in Output view I get exception :

I'm still having the same problem I was hoping to find some solution, because it is really annoying.
I've noticed that this exception occurs after some minor modification in topic text (e.g. correcting a grammar mistake). Also, after generating JAVA help and viewing the results, the topics which have "?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ? at the beginning, won’t be displayed correctly and won’t be found in the search results.
So, I was not able to find the problem, although my colleague can modify the same help projects, and won’t get the same exception. So, my PC was changed, Robo Help installed freshly, but this problem still remains .
Well, any clues?

Multiple certificates and JavaHelp - A solution

I have been trying to find a good solution to the problem of using JavaHelp, which is signed by Sun, with my JWS application, which is signed by my company. Given it is Friday afternoon, I have decided to share my solution with the rest of the forum.
My initial thought was to simply pull everything out of the jh.jar, create a new jar and then sign it with the rest of the jars. This is "A bad thing" and after a lot of investigation, I came across the following solution.
I had added an extension tag to the resources section of my JNLP file that refers to a second JNLP file <extension href="javaHelp.jnlp"/>. This second file, shown below, is then able to reference the real jh.jar file and I am now able to deploy all of the jars in the correct fashion.

If, and only if, the motor stage has a fixed interval you can forget the cluster stuff and put everything in a 3D array.
Rows & Cols are XY data for each motor position, pages are the different motor positions.
