Was Crack Free For Almost 60 Days...

Hello Everyone,
I know this is _NOT a new topic_, but I have not read any posts recently. I do apologize in advance if I missed a recent post!
My daughters White 16GB iPhone that we bought a week after the launch -- has cracked. Never dropped, she is very careful with her phone (she really babies it). So we went to the Apple store (Arden Mall - Sacramento) and made an appointment upon arriving. We actually only waited about 45 minutes. Not to bad. While waiting we looked at the new iPod Nano's and iPod Touches -- very, very cool! The iPod Touch is so thin... amazing!
The Apple Genius was very polite, energetic and helpful. He looked at the cracks (near the Headphone Jack, the Ring/Silent switch and near the Doc Connector). Which is where the majority of the cracks are happening. A few questions, no hassles... and he said no problem. We did get the famous "white" box replacement. I asked if this was a refurbished phone, he replied he did not know. We looked over the phone very closely and at this point even if it was a refurbished phone... its better than a cracked one!
When I asked if Apple has fixed this problem with the phones being manufactured now... he replied "what problem?", I was like... are you joking? He claims this is only the 4th one that has been returned for cracks since the launch? Maybe so? No worries, I understand the corporate "line".
Anyhow, is anyone else seeing cracks? Is this a problem only with the original 3G's, or is this still happening on ones recently purchased? Also I'm curious if it cracks again will Apple replace the phone as long as its in the one year warranty period??
My wife wants a white one, but is waiting to see if Apple is really going to introduce "colored" versions as it gets closer to the holidays.

I bought mine about 2 weeks after launch and I've been perusing all of the problems here ever since, thinking: "Hmm, these people are just angry. There is just no way that there are all of these cracked phones out there." Then last night I pop off the Contour Flickr case that usually remains on 99% of the time to find a crack so thin that I only noticed it after rubing some oil from my finger into it. Now you all are talking about cracks around the head phone jacks...etc. This crack extends from the right edge of the "16GB" on the back of the phone to the top of the leaf on the apple.
That being said, I baby my phone. The case remains on unless in the cradle when it occasionally comes off. I have never dropped my phone, not even onto a table or anything greater than a distance of a couple of millimeters. I have never laid on or sat on my phone. Heck, I take the phone out of my pocket when I get in my car to enure that I wont lean up against the door with it in my pocket. Yet, there is this massive "hairline" split. Now I have to take this thing back to some "genius" who is most likely going to assume I played soccer with the thing.
So I wish you good luck with the replacement phone. I hope that they grant me the same course of action tonight....especially since I blew the 70 or so bucks to get the apple care plan.

We are all just phone users here, and no-one can hope to provide any advice with so little information to go on as to what exactly has happened. You need to provide some detail.

I am trying to download Mountain Lion for almost 3 days now and the download gets stuck at 53.25mb. Apple support staff is giving me same block answer that it's because of heavy traffic and I don't buy that. Does anyone know how I can download it ?

I have been trying to download my copy of Mountain Lion for last 3 days and the download is stuck at 53.25mb. I tried all of the restart/ Cookies deletion that apple support staff recommended to no avail. Download starts from begining and once it's 53.25mb downloaded, the remaining time goes upto and beyond 650 days and counting.
Is there any guru, who can help me download Mountain Lion this year? Preferably in a days time !

Doesn't strike me as a "high traffic" issue, if you pause the download can you open the /Applications/ folder on your Mac and see if the installer already present? If you can stop the download and delete the installer (because it is not finished), the try again?
If you've already done the above have you tried using Disk Utility First Aid from your Recovery HD?
Try to verify/repair the disk and see if that takes care of it. (Of course make sure you have a good, recent backup before trying this.)
If you're still having issues: re-install OS X from the Recovery HD, install all available software updates, try again.

Phone was off for almost four days, haven't received texts from when it was shut off

I read that Verizon continues to send messages for five days if the phone doesn't receive them. it was just under four days my phone was off, and when turned back on, I only got messages from that day. I know for a fact I was sent messages in this time, important messages, but I haven't gotten them. Is there anything to do about this? Pretty pathetic that the only way to get any type of customer assistance is to post on a forum.

Call *611 to get to Customer Service. Better yet call 800-922-0204 from another phone and choose option 3 from the menu tree.
As for the issue, try calling *228 and choose option 1 from the phone to reset the 1's and 0's on the phone.

Hi, my iPhone 3GS wall charger stoped working, and I went to Orange shop with my warranty and L.I.G. insurance.They said I should also give them the phone for almost 10 days, isn't there a faster way, is it possible the Apple Store replaces my wall charge

My 5YO daughter owns her very own IPhone 3GS, she got it for her 5YO birthday on the 24th of june. its allready upgraded to iOS5, and works like a charm.
Last evening, while it was charging, a flame appeared and the charger stopped working.The USB still works.
It was plugged in a Belkin 3700 joule along with my 47 Inch Full HD TV .
No storm or something like that, and there was nothing wrong with my TV, as in was still running.
Problem.
I went today to an Orange store here in Romania, with the charger, invoice,warranty, and L.I.G. (London Insurrace Group ((I think))) insurrance, and they said I MUST also bring the iPhone, and thet it will take just about 10 working days for them to give me back the Iphone, and a new charger.
Is there a faster way I can get the wall charger replaced?
Should I try going to the Apple Store with the warranty from Orange.

Permission repair been running for almost 2 days now? What happens if i stop it? What to do? Please help. Thanks in advance.

My imac wont start up after it asked me to restart the system. Prior to that, a message showed saying i dont have enough space on my start up disk. Now after i restart, it wont go pass the gray screen at start up with the apple logo. I restarted it several times, unplugged power from wall and still wont go pass the gray screen. I am now start up with the installation disk that came with imac and running permission repair( read it from other posts). Permission repair says 8 min till completion and its been running for 2 days now. What else can i do? What happens if i end permission repair and do repair disk? Will disk help solve my start up problem? Please help :( Thanks in advance...

You shouldn't be running Permissions repair booted from the install disc, in the first place. Stop it, shut down and Safe Boot. Hold Shift key down at startup chime. Give it longer to boot than usual. If you can get it to boot up, you must delete some things to make room. Likely candidates are in your home folder, music, movies, documents, pictures. The Safe Boot will, if possible, repair your drive.
If you don't want to lose them completely, you need to move them to an external drive. You should maintain at least 15-20% free of drive capacity.
You will likely have introduced real errors by repairing Permissions booted from the install DVD. You can fix them by running Permissions repair if and when you are in Safe Boot.

Lion has been installing for almost 3 days...HELP.. This in junk

Can someone help me also. I have been downloading lion for two days not and it will not stop. I get the blue bar on the bottom and it says installing. I turn the computer on and off and it comes back and still says installing. Also I cannot get to any icons or anything else. I did control R on start up and then it says error during instal. Then it goes back to saying installing with the blue bar. How in the **** can abort this crap and install SL back on the computer?

It sounds like it is installed? Try clicking on the OSX!
The Recovery HD will download a copy of the installer and install it automatically. It will take a long time for the downloading. You should then have 10.7.2.
By the way it also includes a Disk Utility to check out and repair the disk first...
I would recommend doing this because as things are, you are likely to lose your data, trying to get back to SL. Anyway millions of people are using Lion and enjoying it, so don't be put off.
If you really want to go back to 10.6.0 then you'll need to boot from an external and run Disk Utility to remove the partioning, then do an erase / install. You will need to get your data off the computer first, including Bootcamp if that's what you mean by "Windows". Is it readable just now?

If you can't get this to work despite someone actually giving the exact code you should probably ask some developer to help you.

Did you try sending yourself a message from GMail and from another non gmail address to the gmail address. If the gmail gets returned look in the headers for problems. If you have both in your GMail inbox you are probably okay and no one is tricking you.

As when there is a problem with a 3rd party app on your computer, contact the Apple developer. The developer likely has a website for troubleshooting and to report problems.
