Was Greek Autocorrect removed from iOS 8?!

Hi everybody,
I just updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 and noticed that the autocorrect for greek seems to be gone!
I have the option to enable "correction" but for English only.

Found it! It was not removed... Just wasn't enabled... Sorry about that...

• Was "Wi-fi Cellular" removed from iOS 6?

I read a lot about an iOS creature that would use cellular data if a wi-fi connection degraded (or the device had a strong wi-fi connection but lost Internet access, etc.). The setting was supposed to be found under Settings -> General -> Cellular. Tonight, however, after upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS 6, that setting is nowhere to be found. Was it removed from the iOS 6.0 release?

I was looking for the same thing and can't seem to find it either...

• Was nostrip option removed from makepkg?

I often run svn/cvs versions of software to help projects debug and stuff, so I like to leave the binaries for those apps unstripped. Historically I have done that by passing the --nostrip option to makepkg or versionpkg, but when I tried it today I got this error:
$ versionpkg -o="--nostrip"
==> using makepkg opts `--nostrip'

It's been awhile since I have done this, so I wonder if the nostrip option was removed from makepkg.

• Why was some music removed from store?

I saw the The Mighty Underdogs' CD's have been removed from the iTunes store. Anybody have any clue why? I was going to purchase yesterday and only two videos and a few singles were available. Weird.

I am not sure why you think it is weird. Retailers, including iTunes, have stuff going on and off sale all the time.
I haven't seen any news particularly about Underdogs, but it could possibly relate to licensing, distribtuion strategy, pricing issues, or many other reasons.

• How to keep photos in folders when removing from iOS?

I usually use Preview on Mac to import photos and delete them from the iPad. I've started putting photos in folders but this organization is not maintained on import. Is there a way to maintain this when importing? Or even better: is there a way to leave certain folders on the iPad and import/delete the rest?
Of the photos that have been imported, is the folder data maintained somewhere so I can reorganize them? Maybe I need to find a better method of importing & deleting.

arphaus wrote:

iPhoto, Image Capture, Aperture...but I have never heard of using Preview to import photos to the Mac.
Folders/albums that you create in the Photos App on the iPad are for local organization on the device itself and will not import to your Mac. These folders/albums do not contain copies of the photos, but merely use pointers to the photos to make the pictures appear in these local albums. If you create new albums in the photos app and try to remove the photos from the camera roll, they will be removed from the folders as well.

• Wireless N (802.11n) support removed from iOS 8.3?

Using an iPhone 6 plus here. My internet router is configured for two frequencies, 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz
After the ota update, my phone is no longer able to connect to the 5Ghz frequency.
Below are the wireless mode settings for each frequency (note : the settings below were working fine with iOS 8.2 and earlier)
When changing the mode to 802.11a for the 5ghz channel, I am able to connect. Did Apple disable wireless N mode on their devices?

My router (D-Link 825) works just fine with my iPads and my MacBook Pro both on the 5 GHz 802.11 band. Of course, if the router is working properly, there is nothing that one device can do to "kick other devices off." It is, after all, the router's job to manage communications between multiple devices.
So don't expect a fix from Apple. if your router doesn't work properly to manage communication between your iPad and other devices, get another router. Even wireless-N routers are pretty cheap these days. Also, many routers can be re-flashed with open source firmware freely available on the web.
I did encounter one odd problem when I first set up my iPad2, in that I was initially getting "unable to connect" alerts from the iPad2 when I tried to join my 5 GHz 802.11n network. I thought that maybe the iPad2 couldn't handle 5 GHz, so I turned on 2.4 GHz on the router and was then able to connect. But then I switched back to 5 GHz only mode, and the iPad2 re-connected just fine.

• HT5510 Why was app gifting removed from iOS6? It's almost Christmas and it's still not back...

I mean, Google Maps was a stupid thing to remove but I can see there may be some strategic importance to getting Google out of the system, removal of the Japanese to English dictionary was a stupifyingly pointless move but it's unlikely to stop any revenue ecxept from non-JP speakers trying to buy apps they probably can't use, but I mean, come on, what?
Why remove a one-click button that is simply a revenue stream from people's willingness to share? Have these people really lost the plot?

Fixed this with apple care. Had a unique situation. Will share by email if interested.

• Find out the group and time a user was added to deleted from specific AD group

have a project that I need to find anyone that has been added to or removed from an AD selected groups that begins in APP_RMS in the last three hours.
I need to product a file the has this information
group| sAMAccountName|<ADDED/DELETED>|date and time
I know very little about AD and just a little more about powershell. I know this should be written in powershell, do not want to use outside tools like repadmin.

Hi Cchart3,
In addition, this function written by Boe Prox is for your reference, which can look at an Active Directory group's metadata using repadmin to determine who was added or removed from a group and the time this modification occurred.
Find the time a user was add/removed from a group

No its not out yet, when I went in to settings it still says 8.0.1 and I just searched on google, it says IOS 8.0.2 will come out in a few days. I just want to get IOS 8, I don't care about IOS 8.0.1 or 8.0.2 .

Hi tinashah817,
Was this book downloaded using iBooks, or from another application? If it was from iBooks you will need to install that application to delete it.
See this article about managing your iBooks library on your iPhone -

Once the book has been deleted from the iPhone you can uninstall the iBooks application if you so desire.

• Heartbleed: Remove Certificate Authority from iOS device

Hi,
I am in the process of changing SSL certificates after the Heartbleed bug. As I wasn't able to find a reliable cross platform way to revoke my internal certificates (e.g. Chrome doesn't check CRLs), I'm planning to reissue new certificates based on a new internal certificate authority (CA) and to remove the old CA from all systems. This should render all previous certificates as untrusted.
This is easy for Linux, Windows and OS X, but how can I do this for iOS 7 devices? I believe the CA certificate was originally deployed to the iOS devices through a configuration profile. However, when I go to Settings > General > Profiles, there is no such profile listed. The iOS Safari shows my internal HTTPs pages without certificate warnings, thus the device must somehow have remembered that CA as trustworthy.
Here are my questions:
How can I view and/or modify the trust settings of CAs on iOS 7 devices?
Where did the configuration profile with the CA go (I know that's a little weird to ask here) and why is the CA still active?
Why are internal Https pages still trusted even if there is no configuration profile for that?
This absolutely puzzles me! I always thought that for a custom CA to be active on a iOS device a configuration profile was required to be present. But that does not seem to be the case.
Thanks for your help!

The workaround seems to be the following:
Go to the iPhone Configuration Utility
Install the profile (again)
Go to your iPhone and deinstall the profile that was just installed in Settings > General > Profiles
Certificates signed by that authority are not trusted anymore.
I consider this to be a major security problem in iOS if there is a way that profiles enable CAs and then get lost sometime later (maybe through an iOS upgrade?).
