Was hot and now it's not. ?

Just got myself the white Macbook a couple weeks ago. I've been using it constantly. (my 1st Mac, and I'm never getting a PC again!)
Initially, it was always pretty hot. Uncomfortably so. (I had to put it on top of a couple hardcover books when using it on my lap).
It's plugged in nearly all the time except when I go to bed - then I turn it off and unplug the power adapter. I close it when I'm not using it.
Last night the fan just suddenly quieted down, so much so that I can't hear it - and now it's nowhere near as hot. I've got it on my lap right now (without the books) and it's only a little bit warm.
Does this mean anything? Should I be concerned?
Possibly relevant: The weather has dropped at least a couple degrees in the past day and it's noticeably cooler - another summer is on it's way out.
By the way, the specs are:
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB MHz DDR2 SDRAM
250 Gig hard drive
OS X 10.5.4
Any feedback would be appreciated.

call apple support and tell them.. its a safty issue because the device get really hot..
