Was I hacked? Got this msg out of nowhere: "The system extension “//System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update." I was on my home wifi, watching hulu, not plugged in to anything. I don't know what this is in reference to. Everything kept running as usual... any help would be appreciated!
No you were not hacked.

When i got on itunes after i was told my iphone4 is unlocked. I got this MSG that this sim is not supported then I can't do anything. I don't have any icons on my phone and I can't restore thru iTunes. Anyone has similar experience? What do u do? AT&T told me my phone is unlocked but I can't do anything need help. My sim is with TMobile.
You'll need to either a) insert your AT&T SIM card and then restore the phone, or b) force your iPhone into recovery mode. If you re-insert the AT&T SIM card, make sure you swap it with your new T-Mobile one before you start the setup assistant. If you force the phone into recovery mode then just leave the T-Mobile SIM card in it.
You must restore your iPhone to complete the setup assistant so that your phone can be activated with T-Mobile.

i cant update my icon . msg " acount not in this store" im in Montreal canada i got this msg today
Sounds like a message you'd get when trying to use an App Store outside of your registered country - ie device registered to U.K. App Store but trying to download while in the U.S.

lately seems ive been experiencing a high volume of technical issues from typing cursor jumping all over page to error messages like this one 403. That’s an error.
We're sorry, but you do not have access to this page. That’s all we know. from google and all i wanted to do was enter my profile . ive found unknown users that i cant delete and seems my avast premium is worthless found two programs that i didnt download. smart pc care and advanced system optimizer and now mcaffe dose anyone know whats going on every tech support i have talked to trys to sell me 4 and 5 hundred dollar cleaan ups ??????????Sounds like malware, and taking advice from scamming sites. You will need to do scans with multiple and up to date tools.
Incidentally I would not suggest you try any manual hacks or edits of the Windows registry. (Once rogue files are removed any residual registry entry will not normally do any harm.)
If you need to find the profile you do not need Firefox open, and probably would normally not try to navigate to the profile with Firefox (although that may be done).
* [[Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data#w_finding-your-profile-without-opening-firefox]]_finding-your-profile-without-opening-firefox
Please post back with how you get on.
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
* [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx Microsoft Safety Scanner]
* [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware]
* [http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363 TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility]
* [http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro/ Hitman Pro]
* [http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/ ESET Online Scanner]
* [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ AdwCleaner: (for adware)]
* [http://www.kaspersky.com/security-scan Kaspersky Free security scan]
You need to use multiple and up-to-date tools as they will not all pick up the same things.
[http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good FREE permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

I have used FF for about a year on my Dell Inspiron 15 and now every time I open it the resolution changes on me. If I close FF everything goes back to normal resolution. No problems with other browsers just FF. I went into the properties and tried to fix the compatibility but nothing was checked. I checked for any new updates that happened automatically but there haven't been any for days before this started. I have all my Grad school bookmarks on FF and I don't want to uninstall.
This can be a problem with the localstore.rdf file.

Use Restore or Maximize in the right-click context menu of the Taskbar icon to set focus to the Firefox application if you do not see the Firefox window.<br />
Open the system menu of that Firefox window via Alt+Space and see if you can move and resize that window.
If that works then close Firefox (File > Exit/Quit) to save that setting.

Just received a receipt from itunes for omething I did not purchase- was itunes hacked?
Was itunes hacked? This morning I had a receipt from itunes for a magazine subscription I did not purchase. Anyone else have this problem?
Is it a valid email from Apple, not a phishing attempt ? You can check the purchase history on your account via you Mac's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option - there should be a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it, click on that and you should then see a list of your account's purchases (the most recent purchase is above the list).
You can check to see if you have any auto-renewing subscriptions : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098 -

Lots of iTunes issues cropping up out of nowhere!
Lately when I plug my iPod in, my iTunes freezes and I have to force quit. Today that happened again, so I force quit, waited a little while, and then tried to open again. I repeatedly got a popup that said "The iTunes Library file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file." That makes no sense, because no one has access to my computer but me. Finally it opened, and I went ahead transferring some new music that I downloaded last night. About a third of it now won't play and has the exclamation mark next to it, and when I try to delete it from the iPod, I can't. When I try again to transfer it from iTunes to the iPod, it won't go. What is going on, and why has this happened out of nowhere? Help!
I have checked for updates and I always install whenever my software manager comes up, so there is nothing I'm missing in my iTunes, as far as I can tell.I wanted to pull up this post, because it keeps getting worse over time. Now the bigger issue isn't the music files having the exclamation point, but the fact that iTunes freezes EVERY SINGLE TIME I PLUG MY IPOD IN. Multiple times. Repeatedly. More every time I try to plug it i, which, since I use my iPod a lot and download lots of podcasts, is quite often. At least every other week. Why does it freeze every time I try to open it with the ipod plugged in, and why does Apple not give a **** about the problem even though I have to force quit repeatedly and I always "report" the problem? Help, please!

Very Low Sound, occured out of nowhere.
Out of nowhere, the sound on my computer will only go to about 1/4 of the actual maximum volume, even when everything is turned up to max in alsamixer, and on my main module. This occured out of nowhere one day, and i can't seem to find a solution to it anywhere. Any advice?

I have the same soundcard (or at least the same modules loaded) and I'm getting good volume.
Things to check:
If you have the pcm and main volume all the way up in alsa mixer that should be it. You may have to adjust the volume separately if you use esd, arts, pulse, or jack (I don't use them).
Another thing to test is to make sure your using alsa not oss, and you may want to raise the oss level and see what happens.
The final thing is you want to check to see which sound device the audio programs are using (usually found in the preferences).
If none of that works, then you're out of luck. It would help if you post what sound programs you are using and what sound daemons you are using.
Here is my Daemons line from /etc/rc.conf
DAEMONS=(@syslog-ng @network @netfs @crond @alsa @hal @fam)
So i would think im using alsa not oss. but how would i go about raising the oss to make sure? there is no "oss" option in alsamixer. I have tried just abuot every audio progream there is and even firefox, all of them produce about half of the maximum volume level. -
