Was Itunes written by a 12 year old?

Trying to transfer a single new album onto my daughters iphone and 45 minutes later Itunes is still "backing up" or "Transferring.Purchases..." or some other task which I don't want it to do.
I want it to copy one album, nothing more, nothing less. So why does it insist on doing everything else other than what I want it to do.  I've given up once and tried it again and its now doing everything it did before - surely its got the backup and purchases that it spent 25 minutes copying 10 minutes ago?
If this was a piece of Beta softwarre I would be disappointed but this is version 11.2 - Its utter garbage!
Is there a simple way I can transfer 1 new album without going through all these needless steps?  You know like I can do with any other phone manufacturer?

Hi, again, Ned! Thanks again for your prompt reply.
Here is a link to the 2001 animation; it's 26 seconds long. http://willsoper.net/HaikuCat2001.html
The animation's first movieclip is a 25-frame sequence of the hand stroking the cat's back. (See attachment.) The clip runs once, for 25 frames on the main timeline, and then the code makes it run twice more before allowing the main timeline to continue on.
I would like to know the AS3 equivalent code, so when I do similar animations now, I can get MCs on the main timeline to repeat a set number of times before allowing the main timeline to continue on. I'd prefer to avoid externals; but I was intrigued by refunk's TimeLineWatcher, which, alas, I could not get to work!
Thanks again!

I have a £15 itunes card (Fastcard) nearly 2 years old, I have not redeemed it yet, but the number has scratched off so I can't read it. The other numbers on the card are different to the ones on the help page for illegible codes, how do I redeem it?

    Hello Swara,
You'll need to contact iTunes Store Support for help. You'll need to provide the serial number from the back of your iTunes Gift Card.

    16 or 19 digits

    From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

  • My old itunes account is like 10 years old.

My old itunes account is like 10 years old. I have a new one now and the e-mail is not the same. The security questions say they're all wrong. What gives? how can I authorize my computer to play these old itune purchases.

Just what do you want to do?
In iTunes you can go to Store and sing out of existing account and sing into your account.
You can sync music and videos from the other computer if you sync by the manual method.

  • HT5622 How do I have an app (game) deleted from my iphone that was purchased accidently by  my 4 year old grandson for $32???

My 4 year old grandson was playing with my phone while on a long car trip and somehow purchased a game and I just received an email with a charge of $32.00
What do I need to do to have this game deleted and a refund on my VISA card?

All sales are final. That being said, contact iTunes and plead your case here:

You have gone into your settings for iTunes and changed it so your password
is now required for every purchase, haven't you?

  • Creating an itunes account for my 9 year old so he can facetime

My 9 year old just got an ipod touch and wants to do facetime. I realize I need to set up his own apple id. I tried to do this and it says he does not meet the minimum age. Is it best to just lie about his age in order to set up his facetime account or is there a better way?
Currently his ipod is set up under my account but I also have facetime and hew wants to chat with me. Please advise.

You do not need an Apple ID. You can use any valid email address. If it is not your Apple ID you will have to verify the email address by replying to an email they send you.

  • My macbook is 4 years old, i havent bought any upgrades but now i cant download the new itunes. Can i buy one upgrade and will it work or is there a way to get the new itunes?

My macbook is 4 years old, i havent bought any upgrades but now i cant download the new itunes. Can i buy one upgrade and will it work or is there a way to get the new itunes?

Even a four-year-old MacBook should have come with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Leopard can run the latest version of iTunes; it will download and install pretty much automatically if you run Software Update.
You might first have to be sure that you are running the latest version of Leopard, which is 10.5.8. This, too, will download and install for you if you run Software Update. Just keep running Software Update until there is nothing left to download and install (you might have to run it more than once because some updates require previous updates to be installed first).
If you have a version of Mac OS X earlier than 10.5, then you can't run the latest version of iTunes. You will need to buy a more recent version of Mac OS X. You must be running at least 10.4 Tiger, and you can upgrade directly to Snow Leopard from Tiger. Apple still sells Snow Leopard for about $30 and you might find it slightly less at a retailer or on eBay. After upgrading to Snow Leopard, you will be able to upgrade to Lion using the Mac App Store for another $30 or so if your MacBook meets the minimum system requirements.

  • Slow Macbook pro, ~1 year old;  Really HUGE Page Ins and Page Outs size, think 400 GB In vs 100 GB Out

Hi everyone, I have a macbook pro and it's so slow.  After scouring the internet a lot, and CCleaning my computer 359802 times and using Onyx, I finally realized why it's so s low.....my Page Ins and Page Outs are so big.  I have attached a screenshot that illustrates this.
I am not sure how my computer ballooned to this size, but it makes sense why it's like a turtle and is slower than my 4 year old Sony.
Can someone help me?? I am not sure what processes to get rid of and I feel like Google Chrome is taking up huge amounts of my Ram.  I mean yeah I open Google Chrome and run like 8 tabs and have Word and iTunes open, but my 4 years old Sony could run faster than this and I used to open like 12+ tabs on Chrome while running Word, Excel, Powerpoint, iTunes, and VLC on my Sony.  Which was nowhere near as powerful as this computer.  Supposedly.
    My computer Specs are:
    2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
    4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM
    Intel HD  Graphics 384 MB
    Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4
I would really appreciate any advice to get this down to normal.....since I hear most ppl have page ins and page outs in the MB or even KB.  Right now I'm running Google Chrome, Word, Ppowerpoint, iTunes, and Adobe PDF Reader.  I don't think this should be too unreasonable of work load.
    Thank you

The problem is not that your page ins are big, as that value resets when you reboot the system. However, your page outs are are almost 25% of your page ins, which means you can use more memory for the applications you run.  A page out is done when memory is full, and the system needs to add something else to memory, so it writes some memory to the hard drive to make room.  The guideline to add more memory is 10% to 15% page outs greater than page in's, and yours are more than that.
Your MacBook Pro can handle up to 16GB of memory. You might want to consider upgrading to 8GB, which would double what you have today. OWC and Crucial are two sources for quality memory. $42 for 8GB from Crucial, and you can usually find a % off coupon on retailmenot.com.

  • After upgrading to iOS 5, I lost my contacts, calendar entries, and Notes on my iPhone 3GS (3 years old). How do I retrieve them? My last backup/sync to iTunes acct was Sept 18 but yesterday's backup bombed due to lack of space on my C: drive.

Yikes! After upgrading my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5, I lost my Contacts, calendar entries, and Notes (100+) on my iPhone (3 years old). How do I retrieve them? My last backup/sync to iTunes acct was Sept 18 but yesterday's backup bombed due to lack of space on my C: drive.

This happened to me too but it was really all there.  Go to your calendar, click on calendar in the upper left hand corner, click on show all calendars, click done in the right upper corner.  Everything should show up!!!
I was super thrilled.  Hope this works for you!!

  • My 4 year old was on the computer & now my Itunes can't be found

My 4 year old was on my IMAC playing computer games. I left the room to do some things around the house & when I came back she had all my desk top items off of the desk top & all kinds of weird windows opened. What I was really concerned about was that NONE of my Iphoto pics & Itunes songs that were previously bought & downloaded were there anymore! In fact when I clicked on the Iphoto logo or Itunes logo to open them... I was directed to register & accept the user agreements again... just like the FIRST time I used them.
Does anyone have any idea if there is a way to retrieve the photos & songs on Itunes that were on there??? I have NO CLUE what she did. Actually my entire computer settings were set back to like my computer was new out of the box. My address book was empty, the bookmarks all gone, settings were changed. Luckily the isync was able to retrieve my Safari settings, bookmarks, & address book... but everything else is wiped out as far as I can tell. My husband is pretty upset about our complete Itunes library being completely wiped out!! Where the heck did everything go & what the heck did she click on to wipe everything out?? It's sad that my 4 year old is more computer savvy than I am!!
Anyway, I am just praying that some how there is a way to get this info back! I really want my pictures & my itunes back!!! If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks in advance, Lori
PS yes I already checked the trash bin on the computer & the only things in there were a few items that I had deleted throughout the day

Ok, in spotlight, search for 'itunes music' without the quotes. It should show a folder called iTunes music part way down the list.
Hover your mouse over the folder and it will tell you where the folder is. It SHOULD be in your users/yourusername/music/itunes

  • HT3702 I have almost $300 worth of charges on a game that I just downloaded from iTunes.  I have never had a problem with this, I do have a 5 year old using my Ipad, but $300. I was told that you need to authorize with a passcode again before additional p

I have so many charges that just came in this morning, I have tried multiple times to get in touch w/ Apple by chat, online and phone with absolutely NO LUCK.  I purchased a stupid game for my 5 year old, but somehow I have $300 in charges this morning..  Who can I get in touch with?  I thought that you needed additional authorization to charge anything else?  If I cannot get help, I will cancel all of our iTunes and everyone can buy a gift certificate with $10 on it for all future use.
Does anyone have a phone number where I can talk to a live person? or a chat that actually works?

You can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will refund or credit you : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption. The contact methods that are available vary by country (and possibly by time of day), but you might get options on that page.
You can turn off in-app purchases on your iPad via Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases 'off', and depending upon what version of iOS that you have on it you may have a Require Password option on the Restrictions screen that you can set to 'Immediately' (there is a default 15 minutes during which it doesn't need to be re-entered).

I have an ipod Classic 80G. It is a few years old and hasnt been used for  a while. I have just tried to sync it to my new Mac and it says theat thei ipod is synced with another itunes account!!!
It was orriganally managed through my old pc but as far as i am aware the itunes account is the same. If i sync with my mac it will remove all that is in the Classsic and replace it with current itunes!
How can i get round this ?

    Hi Becki ..
You need to "authorize" the Mac.
Launch iTunes on the Mac then from the iTunes menu bar top of your screen click Store > Authorize This Computer.
Now, using the same Apple ID as you used to purchased iTunes media originally, you should be able to sync all your content.
