Was this the screen of death?
Tonight I was using Photoshop, I had a USB drive plugged in, I ejected it so I could plug in my iPod shuffle to charge. For some reason it wouldn't connect, so I took it off it's dock without ejecting it (didn't know how), and proceeded to plug it back into the dock. When I plugged it back in, I waited a sec and all of a sudden, my screen looked like it was having a shade pulled down, as a grey, transparent 'blind' covered the screen, and a message with a large power button symbol behind a message in 5 different languages telling me to restart my computer came up.
I did this. My computer seems to be fine at the moment. I'm currently doing some backing up, in case something bad has happened.... has it!? What does it mean, what should I do and what's going to happen?

What you experienced is called a kernel panic. Go here to Resolve Kernel Panics
Good idea to back up just in case. Usually just a restart takes care of a kernel panic, but if not, then go to the link I posted for more help.

To eject a mounted disk drive or iPod, simply drag that icon to the Trash or select the icon and press Command + E on your keyboard. That will help to avoid kernel panics in the future.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
I took a phone call, and the phone hang after tapping on "End Call" (for crying out loud, this was just the Phone application; I had even rebooted the phone in the morning, so I know that NOTHING was running on the phone otherwise...)
The only way to recover was to force a reboot, which resulted in the dreaded screen of death. I was ultimately able to reboot, however. In the hope that this may help somebody, here is what I did: Held Home and Power button until the screen went off, but let go immediately after that. The screen kind of slowly fades out, and the phone is off. Let the phone sit for ten minutes. Turn the phone back on, and it booted fine.

I was cleaning my screen and did not have it locked. the screen enlarged and and cannot get it to go back to the normal size. I tried shut down and restart but to no avail.

iPhone froze, as title stated, please help
You may well have to force the iPhone into recovery mode & restore as a new device. All data on the phone will be erased http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808, however, if you had previously/recently synced with iTunes on the computer you perform the restore as a new device, you can restore from a previous backup.

Looking for help with an app I purchased. It was on my iPad screen then gone. Shows as installed on the purchased screen.
go to your pc/mac, open itunes, and download the app from the store on your desktop (this will not cost you extra as you have already purchased it). Plug your iPad in to your computer, and navigate to the tab that lets you choose what to put on your iPad. In the Apps section, look for the app, if it is checked (to say it is installed) uncheck it, sync your iPad, then re-check it and re sync. If this doesn't work, try searching Google, or ringing Apple up: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

I have no idea what to do? I can't reset my Apple TV because I cant access settings. Mr remote is blinking three times indicating it's not paired, so I can't reset it that way!
1. Power on and Apple Logo aphears.
2. TV trys to find time and date ( not the new start up language, location etc)
3. Screen on TV is blank
4. Try remote and Apple TV just blinks three times.

Please helpObviously, your network isn't perfect.
Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV
You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Also try restarting the router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
If restoring from the Apple TV doesn't help, try restoring from iTunes using a USB cable.
If this is a new Apple TV, in addition to trying the above, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123. -
Panasonic HDC-TC900 - was this the right choice?
I know that this is a discussion forum for FCP, but hopefully someonce can answer my question. I lobbied hard for this camera because 1) I liked the idea of the hard drive 2) I wanted to upgrade to HH 3) it had 3 mos technology versas Sony 1. I had talked to someone who had the 700 version and was very happy with it. Unfortunately I did not ask about particulars. Now I find that it only records in HD (1920x1080) and iFrame which is 960x540; there is no inbetween, no 1280x720.
I am not a professional but I do a fishing trip each year (for which I am the documentarian) and I record or things such as my grandchildren's baseball games.
So, did I make the right decision?

The Panasonic HVX-200 records 720p24 that looks quite nice even on 42" or larger plasma TVs.
The key thing here is that the camera offers a crisp image. This has as much to do with the optics as the pixel depth.
If the output is headed to youtube and/or DVD, 720p offers a great alternative to 1080i.

System froze when I plugged in ethernet cable, was this the cause?
I had wifi on when using the net, and then I plugged the ethernet adaptor into the thunderbolt port and plugged the ethernet cable into the adaptor, the system froze, the mouse or pad wouldnt work, so I forced shutdown,
was plugging in ethernet the cause of the system freeze? Should I have turned off wifi prior to plugging in ethernet?
Or should I not plug in ethernet while the laptop is on?System.log -- I'm using Lion, not Mountain Lion, but for me, one opens the Console application (in the Utilities folder) and look along the left side panel for system.log.
Also in the Console application you can look at DIagnostic and Usage Messages and also at All Messages. You'll be looking for something that sounds like a problem at the exact time that your freeze occured.
I've been doing this "hot plugging and unplugging" of the ethernet cables for years with several Mac laptops going through 10.6 and 10.7 (probably have done this a few thousand times) and have never actually experienced any issues while doing it. The area where I have seen some issues is with the laptops sleeping and not waking up properly, once in a while this has happened, but that's not related to what you had happen. Again, I was using 10.6 and am now on Lion (10.7) [employer hasn't upgraded us all to Mountain Lion, although that will happen shortly], so 10.8 might be a little different. -

1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

Dock not appearing & system freeze
