Was using iTunes4 on WinXP, then upgrdd to iTunes5 and Boom
Hi all.
I was using iTunes 4 on my WinXP laptop synching with a 40gb iPod running v.2.2. A while back I upgraded to iTunes5 and continued to rip cd's I had purchased into my new iTunes5 Library.
Last night for the first time in weeks, I decided to synch my iPod to my new iTunes 5 Library with all of the newly ripped content and Boom! I get a message that said that my device was not being recognized by the USB. Then I got a message that there might be a software conflict. And iTunes 5 was not recognizing my iPod device.
So I uninstalled iTunes 5 and reinstalled iTunes5, with the same result, iTunes5 didn't recognize my iPod. Then I uninstalled iTunes 5 again and reinstalled iTunes4, but all of the newly ripped music was gone!
What's the problem? Do I upgrade the software running on my iPod and then upgrade iTunes 4 to 5? Will that solve the problem and restore all of my music? I see some postings with comments on iTunes 5 upgrades and problems thereafter with iTunes not recognizing the iPod, but I can't seem to make head or tails enough to know what steps to take to get all my Library back into iTunes5 so that it synchs successfully with my iPod.
Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes and such will never solve your problem. iTunes doesn't contain any drivers. iTunes has never contained any drivers. iTunes never will contain any drivers.
The only drivers used by the iPod are Windows drivers. Specifically, the mass storage device drivers.
So a "unable to recognize the device" or anything else along those lines is:
* A problem with the cable, or
* A problem with the connection, or
* A problem with your drivers, or
* A problem with Windows, or
* Some combination of the above
Messing with the Apple software is pointless. Figure out what's wrong with Windows first. When you can get the iPod to get recognized as a normal external hard drive, your problem will be solved.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

i was using iphone4 in england then in pakistan and now the same set in south korea.....but here the sim is not working.....shopkeepers said that it is not factory unlock. but this set is factory unlocked. kindly inform me what to do now to activate the korean sim here.
To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step. -

You need to use the credentials for the iCloud account that was used to turn on the Find my iPhone service.

If you've been walking around for 2 years with someone else's account set up for Find my iphone, then you'll have to get hold of that individual. If you can't, there is no way to bypass activation lock. -
I have just updated to iOS7, no icon for browser, was using Safari, how do I get it back and can I reverse the upgrade and go back to iOS6? Thanks to you from the UnTechie
The icon for Safari has probably moved to make room for new apps. Scroll the Home screen to look for it.
You cannot reverse the upgrade. -

Only the wireless carrier to which an iPhone is locked can unlock it. -

I am a medical transcriptionist. I was using Firefox 4 and without knowing that Firefox 5 does not support Google Toolbar I updated it. Searching in google is a integral part of my job and without the Toolbar I feel handicapped using Firefox 5. You can say that there is no need for toolbar in firefox 5 as the address bar doubles as toolbar, but I find it very difficult using it. I uninstalled Firefox 5 and try installing Firefox 4 version, but I am not able to. So, I have uninstalled Firefox 4 completely. So, pls advise if there is a way for me to get back my Firefox 4. My iphone became dead apple not verifying its serial no not the imei so should I throug in dustbinIf it was officially unlocked by the carrier it was originally locked to, then it should have been fine.
If it was hacked in any way to make it function as if it were unlocked, then upon restore the iOS firmware failed to re-install correctly and it is now a brick - so in that case, yup, might as well toss it in the trash.
