Washed out pictures during night with LED lighting

Few nights back i was into a pub with my friend, we planned to capture memory with a picture. Then i set up my cam with flash light (on and auto-swapped for few times), when taking pictures got a washed out (a white, light coloured) image. Tried few times as this captured few good shots during day light (without LED), and in night with adequate lighting (flash kept off) but every time got the same poor image.
Finally had to use black burry 2.0 cam, which gave better image than this 5.0 cam.
Could someone help me to resolve this, do i need to contact the service centre to change any parts or change software. As of now i use all updated (OS and i-tunes), i just update what ever is updated.

PIjoe : has got answer for me, and feel it was my stupidity of protecting mobile.
"I had the same problem with occasional dark pictures... i noticed this only happens when I the flash is used... because when the flash is off pictures do come out ok...
and i discovered (embarrased on my stupidity), it seems i still havent removed the plastic protector at the back of the iPhone4. it appears the plastic diffuses the light from the flash and affects picture output drastically.
I hope this helps. "
The above was her answer to other forum, Thanks..

  • Washed out picture

    Hi all,
Since I upgraded to Quicktime 7.3 everything I try to watch looks really washed out. I played with the A/V ontrols but nothing helps. Also if I try to upgrade from the quicktime menu bar it brings up an error msg and shuts itself down so fast I can't even read the error msg.
Is there anything I can do?

With that one, try the "Disable Direct3D video acceleration in QuickTime" section from the following document. (iTunes uses QuickTime for video playback, so the same basic troubleshooting techniques apply.)

  • Aperture and mobileme = washed out picture after downloading?

    Hi,
Synced a few albums from Aperture to a few mobileme gallery's so a few friends could download the pictures very easy. One of them asked me why i screwed up the pictures because the all appeared to have a washed out look on his pc.
Tried it myself and it's true.
If i download a picture from the gallery and open in in Xee on my mac it appears to be washed out, in preview it looks ok. On a windows pc in the default picture viewer same result.
Opening the file in photoshop it appears to be ok.
Tried to talk to a mobileme support guy but he couldn't help me with it.

Don't fully understand what you are observing in Aperture. For me originals show Adobe RGB, as do the images seen in the MM gallery within Aperture, and as do Downloads from that MM gallery. (I primarily use SmugMug these days, and not MobileMe galleries).
Secondly, I don't correlate what William said with viewing of a Download -- but would perhaps with Online? Any download should view fine, unless the problem is with the viewing app? And as I said, everything I could view a download with displayed fine.
Third, another discussion, unrelated to Aperture discusses similar issues with profiles -- see:

  • Macbook Pro washed out picture on Projector

I have a Macbook Pro that I have tried hooking up to our projector in our church using the Mini Display Port to HDMI adaptor but it is completely washed out to the point that it can't be used.  It is only to this projector that I notice it.  Using the exact same hook up to other projectors and TVs the picture is perfect.  Also it is not the projector because a friend of mine hooked up their macbook pro the same way and the picture was fine.  I've tried adjusting the colour and display profile settings and nothing seems to work.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Check out the projector settings when your MBP is connected. Try connecting, the rebooting, try resting PRAM  after connecting.
Make sure that the adapter is "happy" with your OS X version/projector.
Reboot the whole "mess" while connected.
You have not shared your OS X with us, you may try adjusting the scaled setting.
The more info you share the more you may have someone be able to offer help.

  • 808 Pureview problems with led light/torch and nfc

    Hi guys,
I don`t know if any of you had these problems but sometimes nfc and torch won`t turn on...
When I turn phone off and start it again, everything is fine.
Did anyone had problems like this and what could be the reason?!
I also have battery drying problems(lasts about a day) but mine started since i bought the phone, not after the upgrade, so I found some suggestions here that will try on and see if its working?!

    Buddy,
I used the 808 with flashing lights and it seemed fine, just that it made me a little dizzy looking at it, but the framerate turned out fine and video absolutely smooth like 30 fps should be. It was in a DJ Party...
Do you want me to post the video as a sample to youtube? You can verify it yourself. Reply...?

  • Washed out video during playback in ie9

I've got win7-64bit, with ie9 installed.  Video playback using flashplayer 11 allows the audio portion to come through fine, however, the video is washed out almost completely!  It plays, but the contrast is way off!  It's almost completely white!  When I click over to full screen mode (when it allows) it is just fine.  Have had it occur on 2 different websites, that before were playing just fine.
Like I said, the video plays, but contrast is completely off!  When the video is stopped, it is clear as day.
Am at wits end trying to determine what has happened.
Yes, I have turned hardware acceleration on/off.  I have unstalled/installed repeatedly.  Have managed add ons.  Have read all the forums concerning video playback and have tried EVERYTHING that they suggested (except install ie8, then reinstall ie9; won't let me do that).
    Thanx for any comments/suggestions.

Nice to hear/see that this is working now.

  • Best lens for T4i for shooting at night with bright lights?

I am looking for a lens for my Canon Rebel T4i. I am a news photographer and I shoot fire, police, and ambulance scenes at night where there are flashing lights like this: https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3857/15157183675_9500a2f415_b.jpg. My current lens is coming out blurry at times and overall quality is not good. I'm willing to spend a few hundred dollars on it, but nothing really expensive.

    Hello sambo613,
The lens that you would want would be one with a larger aperture that will allow more light into the camera.  One of the more budget friendly lenses that you might want to look into would be the EF 85mm f/1.8 USM or the EF 50mm f/1.4 USM.  Either of these will feature a larger aperture value than what comes with the stock kit lens.
    EF 85mm f/1.8 USM
    EF 50mm f/1.4 USM

  • Camera isnt working properly in low light or during nights?

    Hi,
How to take the clarity pictures during nights or in low light. Facing this issue from a long time.

I have a brand new MAC BOOK PRO 17 inch as well and my camera just started doing the same exact thing.  Can't figure out what it is.  I've tried restarting, resetting SMU etc. nothing has worked.
My system profiler also shows FACETIME HD CAMERA (BUILT-IN).
I'm wandering if this might be an issue/bug due to a recent software update that has not been resolved.
Anyway I"m taking it into apple tomorrow to see what they have to say.

  • I have the Canon T5i and when I shoot videoat night with a good deal of light I get a lot of noise.

I shoot at night with a lot of source light, I get a lot of noise in the video. I have all the settings on automatic. What should I do to get rid of all the video image noise?

    Hi mrmyth!
    Thanks for posting.
When you shoot in lower light, even at night with artificial light sources, the camera may need to use a higher ISO speed.  Higher ISO speeds help with exposure, but they can produce higher noise levels.  Do you know what ISO speed your camera was using?

  • Photos are more washed out in FireFox than Safari

Hi. I've created photo pages in iweb, and when i view the pages in Firefox, the images look much less saturated/more washed out, than when i view them in safari. Any idea why this might be?
the site is www.coutroulis.com then go to 'shots'
    thx

Not all browsers support Color Management like Safari does. With FireFox, it can work, but is turned off in the default installation. Sites that look very nice on a Mac monitor with Safari can look very washed out on a PC with IE or FireFox (Safari for Windows does better).
Here is a page that explains the concept pretty well (these issues were not a problem for me in the past as I used GoLive and now Dreamweaver, with graphics prepared by Photoshop):
    http://www.gballard.net/psd/golive_pageprofile/embeddedJPEGprofiles.html#
I've found that having both browsers open to the same page makes it easier to see the examples properly.
Note the colors in the chart about half way down the page. The chart is built with graphics that have color management information that tells the browser how to deal with it. Safari shows the named colors perfectly (the box with RED text is actually Red in color), Firefox does not (the box with Red text is actually Blue in color). This is an extreme way to show that some browsers are using Color Management info from the pictures on the page. Your photos have information that Safari is using, but not FireFox.
The page has instructions on how to turn on Color Management in FireFox but you can't turn it on for everyone who comes to your site.
The page is in depth, with opinions on how to avoid the problems at all by using the sRGB Color Space which is the default option when using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and "Save For Web". "Save For Web" is also just about the easiest way to get great looking photo's at the smallest file size, for web page photo's.
So you get three things from the Photoshop programs - Graphics load faster because they are smaller than the less powerful iWeb optimization, they often look better than other programs that just let you save as a jpg with a variable % quality level, and the sRGB Color Space used in the photo's works well in all browsers and platforms.
Web Site Design has always been about compromise - quality, speed, and accuracy. If your site is only for you and some other Mac/Windows friends who are using Safari - No Problem, otherwise you might want to adapt as needed for better pages for a larger audience.

  • FCP Filter control brightness? - washed out - too bright?

We filmed a high school jazz choir presentation, 4 -HD canon HFS 20 cameras. We had the white balance set to incandescent. The video was edited using multiclip. It all looks very good, on all the close up cameras. The wider shots look a little washed out or too bright. The lighting on the stage was pretty bright, so if a student had a white shirt on and the lights were directed at his/her head, it kind of blended together slightly. In general it looks pretty good, but I was wondering if there was a way to cut that (overexposure?) down using FCP, or is there something I need to do when we film.

    Hello Jeff,
generally you should avoid overexposing your footage. Most cameras have a "Zebra" that will indicate areas over 100 IRE. Blown out video may not be fixable in post because the information in the overexposed areas may be lost. You can try the following:
    • 3-way color corrector; easiest approach but not very powerful
    • take the footage into Color for grading; this is much more sophisticated as you can work on selected areas.
    • if you don't want go through Color you could give this tool a shot: http://www.pistolerapost.com/pluginz/captains.zip
    hope this helps
