Washed

Well, my iPod was accidently washed in the washing machine this morning. I can see there is water in the LCD screen. I have not turned the iPod on, in fear of making things worse. I think I have a protection plan, but I recall, they don't cover water damage. I have been told before that It should be blown out and let sit upright for at least a week. I'm not sure if these instructions are completely accurate or not, but are there any other precautions or steps I can use to dry my iPod out and use it again? I just got this last year as a gift and it was probably the best thing I've ever gotten from my friend. Can anybody help me please? It would be really awesome if somebody could. Thank you!

Sorry to jump into this topic w/ my own problem, but it seems like "deggie" for one, knows what he/she's talking about... so here it goes. haha
I was at a party a few months ago and I got shmammered(hammered) with my ipod in my pocket. Later in the night, after I passed out, I accidentily ****** my pants (may I remind you that I was really, really drunk. haha) and the next day I checked my ipod and it wouldn't turn on. I plugged it into to my iDock though and it worked fine, all it did was display the apple logo/restart and then took me to the main menu. However, when I take my iPod off from the iDock, it immediately shuts off. The first time that I put it on the iDock it showed that the battery was charging, so I thought that I'd leave it on there for a while and let it fully charge, but when I took it off, it just turned off again. I've tried to restart my ipod, leave it out to dry for a couple days, I've tried to plug it up to my xbox, computer, and laptop but all it does is show a quick glimpse of the apple logo as if it were trying to boot-up like it does when it's on my iDock, but NOTHING seems to work besides the iDock. To this day, it still sits on the iDock w/ a fully charged battery displayed in the upper-right hand corner where the battery indicator is. I would just get a new ipod, but I have over 2,100 songs on it and my itunes has been deleted, so there's no way of getting those songs back unless I restore my ipod. I believe that the problem is the battery, but I'm not all-to familiar w/ the ipod's anatomy so I couldn't tell you exactly. haha
I appreciate any help in advance.

    Hi ,
    I have understood the problem.
In your ABAP code replace all the occurrrences of wa_data  with the structurename.
Use the TABLES keyword to declare the structure .That structure will be same as
reference table of the table control .
    Here the structure is SPFLI.
Check the bellow code , it will resolve the issue.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8100 - Washed out blacks in images / Dark blacks in text prints???

Here is my system: iMac Maverics OS, HP Officejet Pro 8100, Photoshop, Pages & Genuine inks.
I print a text page (Black and various colours) from Pages/Text Edit or any other text program and the colours are deeply saturated, blacks are black and I'm totally happy.
I print the exact same text, recreated in Photoshop, everything is washed out. Blacks are greyish, colours are pastel & it looks like it's been printed at 50% opacity.
I saved my Photoshop text mock up as a .Jpg .TIF .BMP and tried printing them in Pages & Mac Preview - same washed out results as when I print direct from inside Photoshop.
All my software is genuine, drivers are up to date. It's like HP use one process to print text and a whole other process to print images, **bleep** is going on???
Please advise on how to fix, if anyone else is having or has had similar issues.....

Hello @pA8100 , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you're experiencing Photoshop colour issues.  I would like to help.
It is possible you need to adjust the colour settings in Photoshop from RGB to CKMY.
I would recommend utilizing this article on How to Convert RGB to CMYK in Photoshop.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Washed out background image on Treo Pro

    Hi:
When I set my background image on my today screen (check the box in settings, browse to image - use 320x320 resolution) I get a "washed out" version of the image regardless of its original color, tone or intensity. Images from the preinstalled themes are fine - vibrant and clear - but the user set images are very light (almost like a 50 percent transparency in Photoshop for example). I have tried both .jpg format and .png. Backlight settings do not cure this either.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Hi Again:
Upon further investigation, I have discovered that the options for setting background and transparency levels is found through the pictures and videos explorer not the file explorer.
As suggested I have set the transparency to 0 and the image (Crab Nebula through the Hubble space telescope) is as bright and vibrant as it should be.
Thanks again for the direction - it's much appreciated.

  • Monitor suddenly appears washed out

We've got a Dual Processor PowerMac G4 (Mirrored Drive Doors) with both ADC and DVI ports, and recently the color has shifted dramatically such that all screen images appear washed out. We've run the hardware test, which completed succesfully. We swapped this Sony 17" CRT monitor with a Sony 15" CRT, with the same result. We even switched it from using the ADC adaptor to the DVI port using an adapter from a Mac Mini.
When completing the onscreen calibration, the computer asks to increase the contrast to its maximum and then put the brightness to a level such that a circle/square combination is barely distinguishable. With the contrast up fully, the brightness won't go high enough to distinguish the circle/square... additionally, there are two light horizontal lines present onscreen, even when the display is inverted to white on black.
Any help or insight into what components could be causing this would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like the video card in your machine might be going if it effects more than one monitor. If it were just one then it would be case of a bad monitor or since you swapped connecters, it could have been that. Your tests seem to point to a bad video card, or one that has been unseated. Check to make sure the video card is firmly inplace in the AGP or PCI slot. If that is not the problem then it may be as I suggested at the beginning of my comments.

  • I have an old ipod that got put through the washer. I want to restore it but i already have a new ipod. How can i restore my old ipod without losing all of my new itunes songs?

I accidently put my old 2nd generation Ipod nano through the washer a few years ago. Well after that it would no longer work do to water damage. After a while i got a new Ipod (the same type) and was able to get new songs to put on it and what not. Well i was playing around with the one i washed opne day and found that i could still restore it on iTunes. However, it wont let me restore it without losing all of my music and what not that i got for the new one. I would like to continue to use the old one, but I am afraid of losing all of my current stuff. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can restore the old and keep the new? I am in desperate need.

    Well, two thoughts.
The battery has completely discharged and will take overnight to recharge, so don't expect much in an hour.
The battery has deep discharged and is now dead. It will never recharge and should be replaced.

Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:

There are third-party firms that do repairs on iDevices, and there are places where you can order parts to DIY if you feel up to the task. Start with Google to search for these.

Leave it in the rice for at least a day and change the rice every other day or so. The rice and iPod should be in a sealed container.

  • Washed Out Color on One User Account But Not The Other

    Heyo,
I'm on my second Macbook Pro. Apple had to replace the first one. But that's behind us.
Anyway, I have a bit of a predicament. I've noticed that the colors on my main user account are washed out and dull. I created a new user account to see if the problem was a hardware or software issue.
The thing is, the account with washed out colors has Adobe Photoshop, and the rest of the Design Premium CS3 suite - as well as Final Cut Studio 2 - but these are not on the other.
So, I'm guessing that this issue is connected with CS3 and FCS 2.
This issue appears regardless of what color profile I use. But I normally use the Adobe RGB profile - which is what I used to test the other account.
Any ideas what I could do to get my color back? Is there a setting I can change for this?
    Thanks for any help,
    Michael

I'd try to isolate a corrupted user preference file.
Apparently, Diskwarrior now claims to fix those. Or you can just look through the preferences folder in your user folder and start pulling some of those out to the disktop, log out and then log back in and see if that does anything.
When something is affecting one account but no others, I think the clear majority of the time it is a user preference file that is responsible.

  • I accidentally washed my 6th generation iPod nano. It will turn on still but now it has a computer screen setup on the screen, is there a way I can get it back to normal?

I can plug it into my computer and it works and I've click the restore button that comes under the nano's summary when it's plugged in. Any type of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • ICal 5.0 - washed out dates unreadable

The text in Lion iCal 5.0, mainly 'Month' and 'Year' views is so washed-out grey that I can't read it. As a partially sighted Mac user I usually find a little Zoom is all that is necessary, but this text is just too weak-washedout-gray for that to help.
How do I make the date text black - or at least bold? I know I could use Universal Access to set things system wide, but it is just the ugly new-and-improved iCal that is causing me difficulties.
Getting rid of the dirty brown top to the window would also improve the look of the app.

Our office is experiencing the same symptoms. ICAL is useless  on our imac I5s due to background lines delineating days and weeks along with the labels being virtually unreadable. User input for events and to-dos are redable but useless since they simply appear on a white background. We have attempted to calibrate our displays without success. Universal access is equally without benefit. Becasue of the importance of calendaring, we are considering moving all of it to MS Office for MAC Outlook. Apple needs to either change the screen templates to black and white or provide contrast control within ical itself and/or allow the user to change the background color so that the template will be readable.
I should note that the same problem occurs on our older IMacs as well as our MacBook Pros, but not to the same degree. On these machines the ical grey lines and labels are barely readable, but still not useful.
Does anyone have any other thoughts about curing the problem. I would prefer to use ICAL but without resolution of the problem I will move to Outlook.

  • QT video washed out when uncomposited on MB Air (over-contrasty when not?)

Sorry about the funny title, but this is quite odd. I've noticed it with a couple of videos in QT player now -- both from Apple, one a HD trailer and one the video of the iPhone SDK event.
It happens on my MacBook Air, but not my 1.5Ghz PowerBook G4.
When I watch the video and nothing is over it (so it's full screen or in a frontmost window), it's washed out. The contrast is poor and the blacks are grey. But when anything overlaps it -- I move another window partially over the QT player one, or a drop-down menu overlaps it, or the dock overlaps the full-screen view -- the image gets a lot darker (it looks better to me but maybe you see less detail -- maybe the washy greys are right this is too much contrast?)
Anyway, it's odd. Can anyone explain? Thanks

what color is the render bar above these problem clips?
it may be that with these graphic overlays applied then you are seeing only a proxy or preview of the final effect and not a full render
if so, check your Sequence > Render settings and make sure to check the Preview and/or Proxy options
    cheers

  • Is there any hope for a Nano 6th gen that went through the washing machine?

Is there any hope for a Nano 6th Gen that went through the washing machine?  All of the devices contents are showing up in iTunes when connected but the device itself is not working.

    Hello kpratta,
There is some hope. I have heard of someone putting the ipod in a bag of dry rice and putting the bag in a dark place for a 4-5 days. After that they used this:
    www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
This has the best chance. The rice absorbs any liquid in the ipod.
    Hope this helps.

Thats it.All your error will vanish.

  • Ipod nano got washed now battery won't work

My ipod got washed about awhile ago and I let it dry out for a few days and then connected it to my system with no visible problems. Except when I disconnected it the battery was very low and only lasted for a few minutes. Now I can't get any battery life at all eventhough the ipod works perfect when connected to the computer. Anybody have any ideas?

Well I'd leave it charging for a few hours and if it
still doesn't work then I hate to say this but it
will just be a very expensive paper weight. You'll
have to get another one if you want a new one if
charging it for a few hours doesn't work.
Before buying a new one, Google: ipod+repair

also, online Apple Store has refurb 2G 2GB nanos for $109.
