Washer and Dryer

I managed to wash my new Ipod Nano after only using it about three times. I'm not looking for a pity party, just wondering what the chances are of it ever working again... I can see water in the lcd screen, and in fact the screen indicated it was actually playing when I discovered the stupid mistake I made. The headphones were all mangled and no sound was coming thru.
Do you think it will work again after it 'dries out' or should I just go get a new one?

You can take it apart to help it dry out:

My wife bought me a new one.  It shows up on  my computer (windows vista), but Itunes doesn't recognize it.
How do I get Itunes to recognize it.  I spent a lot of time recording my old cassetes and don't want to start all over again.  I just want to get back to where I was.

  • 3X points for LG washer and dryer is false advertisement-- 5 months later I am still waiting

I have tried multiple attempts (at least 3 calls) to Best Buy service and have yet to get my issue resolved.   I made anLG purchase of a washer and dryer on Octobe 6th 2014.  The add said get 3x points so that made my final decision to purchase from Best Buy.  5 months later I have yet to get my 3X points.  This is false advertisement. In all three of my calls the representative has apologized and opens up a case.  I never hear anything back.  I keep being told I got my 20% incremental points but that is not what I am disputing. The last time the represenatative gave me some points for my frustration but said someone would get back to me and that was back in December.  Its frustrating as I really like shoping at Best Buy but am becoming very annoyed and really do not want to purcahse here anymore if Best Buy does not follow through with their advertisements.  I do not have a copy of the ad (wish I would of kept one) but Best Buy should be able to verify all their ads.  I certainly am not making this up.  As a matter of fact, the salesperson at the store looked at the ad and confirmed that I should be getting 3X points for the purchase.   Since I have tried multiple attempts on the phone with no success then perhaps this message might work better.   I would discourage anyone right now in believing any of there reward ads.  My time is worth more than trying to chase Best Buy down for points I am owed and will begin to make my purschases elsewhere.  BEWARE customers as I am a very dissatisified customer at the moment.

    Hi analydia,
Thank you for taking the time to sign up for the forum and connect with us.  I can understand why it is you would feel frustrated, and I 100% agree that you should not have to chase down any points that you may have qualified for.  To hear that you have potentially been waiting 5 months for points to post to your My Best Buy account, it is just really disappointing.
It will generally take 20 to 35 days for points to post to a member's account for a Magnolia or Pacific Sales purchase, which will start after any scheduled deliveries are completed.  I looked over your account using the email address you registered with the forum and I do see that the base points for your Pacific Sales purchase have already posted.  With that being said, it should just be a matter of confirming 3X points was being offered and whether or not your purchase qualified.  It appears that your LG washer and dryer may have been eligible for 5X points, but it depends on which models you purchased.
I am very sorry for any inconvenience you have experienced up until now, and I would like to see what I can possibly do to further assist.  To gather some additional information and go over your My Best Buy account with you, I will be sending you a private message.  You can check your private messages by logging into the forum and clicking on the little yellow envelope located at the top of the page.
I hope you have a wonderful day!

  • IPod nano 6th gen went through washer and dryer

HELP!!  iPod nano 6th generation made the trip through the washer and dryer. I put it in a bowl of rice for several days, and it appears not to work. But when I plug it into iTunes it recognizes it, but the screen is blank.
    What can I do???
It was a replacement for my 2nd gen nano that experienced battery issues, so it's not under warranty at all. Is it possible to replace the screen or is it cashed out??

    Update!
When I plug it into iTunes it's recgonized by iTunes. However the tough screen is totally black.
Is there a way to get that replaced or is it totally hosed.

  • My iPod shuffle went through the washer and dryer. The little light turns on but no music comes through any headphones. ???

    What to do??
Okay so I found my iPod had gone through the washer and dryer. It was perfectly dry. I tried to turn it on, and nothing. But I thought maybe it's just dead. So I plugged it in, let it charge...when I tried to turn it on, the little light went green. I thought hurray!! But I put in the earbuds and heard nothing except some random "Battery level 75 percent." On my sister's earbuds. On my earbuds, which went through the washer too, nothing.
    What to do???

It's likely that your iPod is toast.  It does not play well with water and soap.

  • Purchase of New Washer And Dryer Comes to Positive End

This is an update on my washer and dryer.  Coming to this forum was the best thing I could have done.  Once I joined and communicated my problems, my case was transferred to Justin, a Best Buy connector.  Once Justin took my case, he stayed with it until it turned into a positive experience.  With his help, I now have a washer and dryer I absolutely love.  This is definitely the place to come for working out solutions to major problems.  I would like to thank Justin for his efforts in making the delivery of my new washer and dryer happen.  I also want to thank him for recognizing the legwork that I had put into getting this resolved and recognizing that it should never have gone so far.   A GREAT BIG THANKS TO JUSTIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, I can't finish without thanking Best Buy for having this forum in order to help their customers with the problems they are having.
    Thankful For Clean Clothes,
    Dixie

    Dixie,
That is awesome to hear!  I let Justin know how thankful you are for his service.
    Have a great day!

  • My ipod shuffle went though the washer and dryer, Can I fix It?

My ipod shuffle went though the washer and dryer, the music works when I put my earbuds in but none of the buttons work on the ipod, I can still hear my music good but is my ipod pretty much done or there is a way I can fix it?

It's likely that the iPod's contact with moisture and soap has short circuited some of its internal components. Water and soap don't mix well with small electronics.
At this point, there really isn't much you can do other than start saving for a new one.

  • IPod takes a trip through the washer and dryer

My 14 year old son left his iPod nano (3rd Gen.) in his jeans pocket and it ended going through the washer and dryer. It now doesn't work. I think it's a definate goner, but he insists I find out whether it is fixable.
Anyone want to take a shot at this one?

Most likely the battery is shot from that cycle. It MIGHT be fixable with a new battery, but it may not be worth it.
http://www.iresq.com/ipod/ will evaluate iPods for only $9 and let you know what it will cost to repair...
    http://www.iresq.com/ipod/detail.php?prodID=P010935
basically you ship it on your dime. They check it out and contact you with the repair estimate. If you decline, they ship the iPod back and you owe nothing more. They keep the $9 of course.
No first hand experience with these guys, but it might be worth the $9 to determine what the repair will cost.
    Good luck,
    Patrick

  • My iPod Touch 4G went through the washer and dryer. What should I do?

My iPod Touch went through the washer and dryer. The battery was working, so I turned it on, and surprisingly, the Apple logo showed up, but there were bubbles in the screen. Upon seeing this, I immediately turned it off, and placed it in a bowl of rice. What are some other ways that I can fix the device, either by by taking it to Apple, or another repair specialist?
    Help needed ASAP!!!

Put rice and your iPod in a zipline bag (no air). Change the rice daily. Leave it there for about a week. Try opening your iPod. If it doesn't work, take it in for replacement.

  • Washer and dryer set. Is it available or not?

I've been looking at a washing machine for the past week that's listed as clearance at a local store.  I wanted the matching dryer as well but no one sells it any more.  Anyways the dryer shows up online about two days ago online at the same store the washing machine is at.  I now want both but I've called the store multiple times but no one can seem to find either item which is strange as they are listed as being available at the store.  Are they available or not?  I assume they are until their taken off the website.
I really would like this set.  Can anyone here with BestBuy help me and see if the store has both items?  If their not avaible they should be taken down immediately instead of wasting peoples time calling or visiting the store.  I've been on hold as long as 30 minutes for the store to tell me they can't find either item.
    Solved!

    Hello cmf21,
Thank you for being a loyal Best Buy Elite Plus customer! It's always a smart idea to check out the clearance section for major appliances. But I too would be a little frustrated not knowing whether a particular model listed as in stock is really available, and I sincerely apologize if no one at the store has been able to give you a definitive answer every time you've called.
As AWBrown mentioned, those models might no longer be in stock, and the website has not been updated, but I would be happy to look into this further. To better assist you, I will need the SKU numbers and store location. Once I have this information, I'll follow up with you as soon as I have more details.
Thank you for your patience, and I look forward to continuing to work with you.
    Sincerely,

  • My brother's iPod nano went through the washer and dryer!

My brother was looking for his nano for like a week. Yesterday my mom cleaned his room and put his clothes in the laundry. Today when we were folding the clothes we found it in his pants and it was really hot. Will it survive?

Maybe.  Put it in a bag of uncooked rice, let it sit for a week.
    Good luck.

  • I think I washed and dried my iPod nano?

I won't know for sure until I get home later today, but I'm afraid I may have left my iPod in my pants pocket when I washed and dried them last night. Is all hope lost? Am I going to need to replace my iPod?

It's possible. Dryers can get pretty hot, depending on the setting you had it on.
Always check your pockets before putting clothes in the wash.

  • IPod mini went through wash and displays folder with exclamation point HELP

My friend has an ipod mini and i guess it went through the wash and now it will turn on but it displays the folder and exclamation point. I tried resetting it with menu and select but it goes right back to the folder after reset. I have already read apples document so please don't post it. My question is do you think it is the logic board or hard drive that needs to be replaced? It seems if it were the logic board then it wouldn't turn on at all. I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth fixing or not. Is there any way i can tell for sure which component is bad? Thanks

  • My first gen Ipod went in the wash and now I cannot get wifi on it.

Well my first generation ipod touch accidently went in the wash, and now when its working again I cannot get any wifi on it. I have tried reset the network settings and the ipod my still no luck.

    Maybe:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
    Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
    Otherwise:
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
I would say it is not worth getting it fixed
