Washing machine + Ipod = Bad

ok i kno it was a bit stupid bit i washed my ipod shuffle the other day.
now when plug it in the computer raeds it like a normal flashdrive, is there somewhere i can download the driver software for the device or do i have to send it back to apple.
any help much apreciated

Yh was considering tht but just seems alot easyer if i could download the driver and slam it on the shuffle, if not ill have to send it i spose

Leave it in the rice for at least a day and change the rice every other day or so. The rice and iPod should be in a sealed container.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $149. They do not fix yours.

You might want to check your household contents insurance as well, as this might cover accidental damage, even if the credit cards don't.
Also, if there were purchased items on the iPod, many policies now cover downloaded content as well (up to a limit of course).

What breaks the device is if either it was on when it was emersed in water, or if you turn it on before all the water can evaporate. If so, the water will conduct the electricity between the wires and short circuit the device. If you weren't thick enough to try and turn your device on immediately after you took it out of the washing machine, then it should be fine if you just let the water evaporate. Another technique (to make the water evaporate faster and, on rare occassions, to save a device if you've turned if on while there was still water in it) is to put the device in rice and let it sit overnight. Put it in a baggie with raw rice or new silica gel packets, put the baggie in a cool, dry place and wait 4 - 5 days.

About a week ago, I left my almost new ipod nano 7 in one of my jeans pockets. My sister thought the jeans were dirty and did not hesitate or check the pockets before throwing them in the washing machine. I later got a call from her that she had found my new ipod in the washer (DUH) and it would not turn on. I tried everything and finally realized it was not salvageable. I was wondering if the one-year warranty cover accidents such as this. Please help!

The limited warranty doesn't. AppleCare+ does but must have been bought prior to the accident.

I only had my ipod nano for 1 month and I forgot to take it out of my pocket yesterday....I did a washing machine with my nano inside and when I took it out I tried to turn it on...it did a final light and then no answer........I placed it on a cloth on a heater overnight but my nano is still out of function.........What can I do?
How much does it cost to repair it........

leave it on the heater for a few more days, if that doesnt work your nano is probably messed...you probably gotta go buy another one.

IPod put through the Washing Machine

Well, I put my month old 60 GB iPod through the washing machine this past sunday and as one would assume, I'm having problems with it. As far as it stands right now, when I plug it into my computer it will occosionally alternate between a sign that it's charging or a battery with an exclamation mark. The majority of the time, however, it shows nothing. Also, there was one instance that I connected it to my computer and the apple emblem came up... and stayed up, even after I disconnected it for a few hours. Given all of that information, does anybody have any suggestions or have anything to say to offer me a glimmer of hope that my mistake may be reversed? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

My uncle has had his phone fall in a coffee mug and he managed to revive it but that was becuse he has had this happen befor. I think that you might have already screwed it up forever but it is still worth giving this a shot.
Let the iPod completely dry out. Dont touch if for like a week or somthing and then it should be ready. Plug it in and if it doesent work its never going to work again. If you get a connection with you computer then you can restore it and it might save it.

Forgetting ipod in the washing-machine =__=!

I forgot my ipod nano in the washing-machine.
At first it couldn't be turned on.
After i had plugged it with the charger , it was active.
But when i unplugged it , the light & words slowly disappeard & the nano turned off .

Leave your iPod to dry out naturally for a week or so. Don't plug it in to any power sources (computer, charger etc.) in the meantime. After that charge it up and with a bit of luck it may come back to life again.

How long did you let it dry before you tried to turn it on/charge it?
If you have restored it and it still will not hold a charge you will probably need to have the battery replaced. You can send it to a 3rd party, such as http://www.iresq.com, or buy a battery from a site such as http://www.ipodjuice.com and do it yourself, or Google for more similar businesses.
