The device may need to be unlocked for use on a carrier to one other than to which it is branded. EVEN if the device appears unbranded on the surface, it very well is branded internally to one carrier.

IF the device has been used, make sure the device PIN is still not associated with a prior account. If it is , it will need to be "released" from the previous carrier account.
These two items (Unlocked device and PIN release) are not related to each other and are separate items to check.
To answer your direct question.. Yes, it should be no problem using the Duty Free purchased BlackBerry in the UK.

What I asked about is the same thing ahmedsamiul707 asked about. I just wanted to know something more about the same thing. When you read the forum, you can see many threads which are exactly the same. Why add another thread if you have the same question? Only wanted an explanation. Was that so hard?

It will work in the UK, though you will need a plug adapter for the charger (you don't need a convertor for the charger).
If you get a 3G version then get the AT&T version as they use micro-sim cards, so you can swap in a UK micro-sim card. The Verizon iPad is CDMA based and doesn't use micro-sim cards, so from a built-in 3G point of view isn't much use in the UK (I'm not aware of any CDMA carriers in Europe). -

I'm visiting new York(USA) for work on Sunday, just wanted to know if i can buy an un locked iphone from the apple store or not, since i'm not a resident, to the record we don't have an apple store at my country.
You can buy an unlocked iPhone at any of the 5 Apple stores in NYC. All are open on Sunday. Note a couple of things, however:
US iPhone 5's will work on 3G in the rest of the world, but not on LTE because the US phones use different channels than other countries
Be sure you say "unlocked", not "no contract"
If it breaks it must be returned to a US store for repair, and if shipped to Apple it must be from and to a US address -

Like any other world phone, it will work on any carrier with a supported network. The iPhone must be unlocked, if it is carrier locked, there will be problems.

yes. it will work in the UK.
be sure to buy the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, and buy it an apple store in Japan (do NOT buy it at a network service provider), and when you buy it be sure to tell the salesperson that you want the SIM free version.
