Yes the best phone for you depends greatly on what you value the most in a phone.
Clearly the best device for Music may the totally inadecuate if what you want is great pictures.
Conversely if you want a phone just to make phone calls then any N or E series devices is not what you are looking for.

This much can be understood:
You have an iPhone (model unknown)
You have some sort of battery issue (exact kind unknown)
You went to the Apple Store in Sydney (presumably, Australia)
You did not achieve satisfaction on said visit.

So annoyed with this new itunes, spent over 2 hrs to get one ringtone on iphone,why apple has to make it so complicated, on samsung just a push of button ringtone or music is on ur phone... i think its time to say good bye to ihpne... Not a user friendly.

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

I've also spent 30$ at the apple store on screen protectors for nothing! I really don't have 220$ nor 50$ I am on a strict budget. I believe I have to pay 220 not 50 ford a phone replacement for accidental damage. I don't know what category this falls under. I really need a new phone or battery. HELP! Will I have to pay? Also my screen lighting is all topsy-tervy every I put my screen on highest it won't work I have to wait about a minute? So, have you tried a reset? Restore from backup? Restore as new? You seem to have a few problems but do not mention any action taken to resolve them. What have screen protectors to do with anything?

I suffer same. AppleCare can't seem to solve the problem. I did a restore from backup. Then I did a restore as new phone (virgin). Then I did a restore as a new device and then backed up from a stored backup (which does not replace media). To no avail. Some days it works fine, and on others it's extremely bothersome. The major symptoms:
1. It can take 5+ seconds to delete a photo.
2. It can take 10+ seconds for the camera app to activate. In many instances, the moment is long gone.
3. Switching from camera to video can take 5+ seconds.
4. Saving a photo that's been optimized in iOS 5 can take 30 seconds. Absurd.
Note that Photos and Camera aren't the only affected applications. What'sApp can have the same issues on occasion. Voice Memos don't respond like they should, either. I suspect that there's some behind-the-scenes operations with network feed to which iOS gives its full attention (contrary to the UX getting full attention is is historically the case). This makes the user interface painfully slow at times — and, as most of us here would agree — painfully annoying. This might have to do with changes designed around iCloud, but I'm not even (yet) using it.
The bottom line is that what used to be a quick, pretty good phone camera is now totally lackluster and unreliable for fast shots. Sometimes I think Apple spends too much time worrying about form and not enough about function.

Within my main timeline, I have a bunch of buttons that scale up on mouseOver and scale down on MouseOut. With your help, I have gotten these all set up exactly how I need them to be.... so thanks for that.
My next question is a bit trickier, I think I have a few options to achieve it, but curious what you think is the best way to do such a thing:
So, if you rollover a button, you get the scale up, now, what needs to happen, is when you click that button, the button scales to full screen with bleeds, check out the AS2 version here: www.straightlinenyc.com/introduction/launch.html (go to explore, and click any of the circles).
Right now, I am thinking that when you click a bubble, within its movieclip I will build the transition – so if you click, it will go to the btnHit label and there the button will scale up and set the stage for me to load in the case study work. My thinking is at the end of the scale up to full screen, I could put an enterFrame function, saying once you hit this frame, gotoAndPlay the case study frame that I will place on the main timeline.
Obviously, my problem right now, is that if you mouse off the buttons hit state while this is occurring, everything goes away – so thinking on hit I should remove the hit state child.
The other option that may make more sense, is to addChild the hit state, so when you click it, that just loads on top of the button then runs, is this the simpler way?
Anyway, just would be good to get "some" direction, and take it from there. Thanks!

Depending on the specs of your computer, time taken to convert DVD's to an iPod-playable format can vary. On my computer (see below), it takes about 10 hours to convert a 2-hour DVD to the iPod format, using Videora.
So, due to the extremely large size of the DVD rip, it'll take a while to convert it, regardless of how fast or slow your system is.

I'm sorry to hear that your iPhone 4s was lost, and glad that you were able to upgrade.
If your iPhone 4s was backed up to iCloud or using iTunes, you can restore the backed up data to your new phone.

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I THINK ITS TOTALLY BROKEN!!!!

I left it to charge for 5 friggen hours and i wake up and i see that like ink exploded in the interior. . . i dun know what to do, i think its permanently broken and i dont have a warranty . . . any ideas? I see like a stray of ink or something in the interior of the screen. Lately, its been going away, but thats not doing me any good, as i can hear the click wheel but cant see the screen and occasionally the backlight shows up. I have no idea what to do, i'm very ****** right now. Any ideas at all?

I have changed several screens, it is not that hard if you have some mech ability. You can get screens on ebay for under 20 dollars. there are several tutortials that will walk you through it. Instructions and a tutortial site are included as well as the take apart tools. You will need a small mangnetic (it will work best) phillips and a small flat blade screwdriver and a little patience. Just go slow and follow the instructions and in a hour or so you will have a new screen.

Yes, Once the iPhone 4S was released, Apple re-released the 4 in 8gig. They've just done the same thing with the 4S.
If the problem is SMS, he should contact his carrier. If it's iMessage, does he have a data connection? I'd really need more information, though.
What is the problem, iMessage, SMS or both? Is there an active data connection? Has he contacted his carrier to confirm his account is still set up properly? What error messages is he getting? Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?

Like others have said the other people may be using mobile data as opposed to wi-fi. If you're not shy you could ask one or more of those people if they're connecting to wi-fi or mobile data. You could also ask subway employees if there is free wi-fi. If there is they may be able to tell you more about it (ex: if its open, or if there is a password). You could also install an app like wi-fi analyzer that shows you all the networks your phone detects in range, whether they are open or not, and what their signal strength is so you know what connection options you have.

I have seen lots of old posts which go on about converting files but am wondering wherher at the current time with the latest versions of itunes and apple tv whether this should by now be a virtual play out of the box solution.
I have tried connecting my atv to the amp by optical cable but that didnt produce anything better and am assuming that a hdmi cable should be able to reproduce everything an optical cable does.
Is this something I should be able to achieve without having to recode the files?
Tracks are imported to itunes as apple lossless, have tried setting the atv audio settings to auto and 16 bit, neither works yet I was told some time ago by an apple rep that the atv shoud be able to handle any type of audio as it just passes it to the amp to decode. I am not stupid but not that technical when it comes to audio and bitrates etc so any explaination would be appreciated.

Willy, the procdedure you describe works perfectly for AppleTV G1. In fact, I frequently play DTS music discs ripped to my iTunes library as Apple Lossless (ALAC) and synched to the ATV. What happens is that, as far as iTunes and the ATV are concerned, a conventional stereo 16/44 audio file is being played; however my reciever detects the DTS data stream, and instead of outputting static, it decodes the 5.1 channels correctly. This process parallels the way DTS discs were designed to be played back: a conventional CD player is connceted, via digital out, to a DTS-aware reciever/pre-amp and the two channels of static are recognized as 6 channels of DTS-encoded audio.
However this process will only work if the player (CD, ATV, PC, etc.) sends a "bit-perfect" 16 bit/44.1 khz data stream to the decoding device. In the case of ATV G2 and G3, as has been discussed elsewhere, the unit resmaples all audio - including 16/44 PCM (Redbook CD) - to 16/48. While this is not a big deal for conventional audio CDs, MP3s, and AAC files, it mangles the fragile DTS datastream and renders it undecodable. The resulting static that you hear is just like the static you would hear if you played a DTS CD on a non-DTS capable system.
Sadly, I'm not aware of any easy way around this. You could use a program like Foobar (and the DTS plugin) to convert your DTS CDs to 6-ch .wav or .flac file. From there you could transcode the file to AC-3 and then mux it into a video container that ATV supports. You may need add a dummy video track, for iTunes/AppleTV to be ok with the file, though I'm not sure. This may be a lot of work.
Sorry for the bad news. I wish that the iTunes/ATV ecosystem had better multi-channel audio support.
