Watch Folder not working in PSE 8

My understanding is that My Pictures folder is automatically under Watch Folder list. However, whenever I create a subfolder within My Pictures in the Explorer and put picures in it, my media browser in PSE 8 does not show me those pictures in that folder. Why? It seems I have to manually add every subfolder within My Pictures to Watch list. Is that true or what am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

Hello,
Does anyone have any suggestions to my question? I did not get any responses.
Everytime I add pictures to any sub folder in the My Pictures, I do not see that in photoshop (PSE 8). I have to import each one o f them manually. Why is my Watch Folder not working?
Thanks

  • LiveCycle Watched Folder not working

We are in the process of converting our Adobe Central documents over to LiveCycle. We are working on the processes for Fax, Email, and Print and are having issues getting the Watched Folder setup. We've followed the directions online but when we place a file in the watched folder it is never picked up. When we invoke the process using the default start-point it works fine so the process itself appears to be working. Any thoughts on what we could be missing?

If you want to use that xml in your process, your process must have an xml type of "input" variable which also appears in your Watched Folder properties, Input/Output section.
    Check this out : http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/workbenchHelp/help.htm?content=001464.html

  • Watch Folders Not Working

I have recently upgraded to PSE 9 and like it a lot.  I managed to import my catalogues and things look fine.  However, the watch folder feature that worked so well in PSE 8 is not working at all in 9.  I have it set to the correct folders, but none of them are watching.  What can I do?
    Melanie

I would like to bump this because I too cannot get Wacth folders to watch.
I am using a network share, and unless I am doing something wrong, it doesnt work.
I have a RAW image I open in Camera Raw. I modify it, then convert it to a jpg and have it saved into the same place the RAW file is located. I would expect the orginizer to see the added file and auto add it to the orginizer because this is what the feature claims to do, but nothing happens.

  • Watched folder stops working in cluster

    Hi.
Have you ever seen this, when an XML file is picked up in the watched folder??

    Two machines in a cluster.
Works fine in a non-clustered dev environment.  Ported the app to the cluster, changed the watch folder to one shared by both machines, and got this.
    Here is the watched folder:
    \\xxxfile01a-906\as_shared\livecycle.xxxx.com\shared\documents\LCLetters\
And I know this file was written:
    \\xxxfile01a-906\as_shared\livecycle.xxxx.com\shared\documents\LCLetters\input\RAMMLetter. xml
When the file is written, the above quoted errors are posted in server.log.
After those errors appear, the "input" folder mentioned above becomes empty.
In the test environment the watched folder was not a shared folder via UNC, but a local folder in C:  In the new clustered environment, where a shared folder must be used, I have not yet ever seen the watched folder work.  This is the first time I was able to get a file into that watched folder to try.  (In other words, it's not that watched folders were working in the cluster before, and have now stopped.  It's not that other watched folders are working in the cluster.  This is the first and only watched folder being used in the cluster.)
    Any ideas?

  • Files in watch folder not moving to "Sources" after being processed

Files are not moving from the root of the watch folder into the "Sources" folder after being processed, which results in the files getting re-processed everytime AME is re-opened.
I just upgraded to Creative Cloud from the Production Bundle 5.5 with no changes in hardware/software config, so it's not that, however since I'm new I'll walk through the checklist:
    Version: 6.0.3.1
Other applications installed: Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom, AME, After Effects
    Recent updates installed? Yes.
OS: Windows 7 64-bit, all updates applied.
Using AME through Creative Cloud? Yes.
Source footage: Avid DNxHD exports from timeline in .MOV container
    Error message(s): None.
Error present in specific output format/encoding preset? No. It's a global issue.
What were you doing when the problem occured? Relaunching AME.
Has this ever worked before? Yes, in CS5.5 Production Bundle's AME.
What other sofware are you running? At the time, nothing.
Third party codecs? Nope, other than the ones that Avid installs during it's own application installation.
Computer hardware: *sighs* i7 3770k, 32gb ram, asus motherboard, gtx 570 graphics card, a bunch of hard drives, no third-party hardware.
MPE Acceleration in Premiere: Not really relevant in this issue, but yes, when I use Premiere I use MPE.
Is anyone else running into this issue?

    siva,
can you check the url in SLD for the related business system. It should be 8000 also and not 50000(i had a similar error and it was resolved by changing the URL in SLD.

  • Digial Filing, Scan to Network Folder not working on new Asus Windows 8.1 laptop

I've having difficulty setting up Digital Filing, Scan to Network Folder on my new Asus Windows 8.1 laptop. I'm using a HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g Series.
It seems to setup correctly with no errors. However, all scans end up with a zero file size PDF. Trying to open them gives the error: “Adobe reader could not open 'scan.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
I've previously had no problem setting up network folders to scan to on three other computers, all of which were running Windows 7, not 8.1. Digital Filling continues to work correctly on each of these older computers, but try as I might, I'm unable to get this feature to work with my new Windows 8.1 laptop. I've tried with both the “Solution Center” software and the embedded web access.
I've compared all the setting I could think of to the previous Network Folders that work and cannot find any differences.
The workaround, scanning from my laptop using the Solution Center software (rather from the printer console using digital filing, scan to network folder) works perfectly. As far as I can tell, all other features are working.

The STUDIO is an older laptop running Windows 7. Scanning to network folders works perfectly as long as the folder chosen is in the \Users\Public folder.
I do not know nor have not needed the Windows password on this laptop. It's been years since I set up this laptop; I don't know if it even has a password.
The ASUS is a new laptop running Windows 8.1. So far, I have been unable to scan to a network folder; all the resulting PDFs are zero bytes.
The network folders are all in Network Path: \\ASUS\Users\Public; if I try to create them outside this folder, I'm unable to even finish setting up the network scan.
I DO know the Windows username and password for this new laptop.
    Username: [email protected]
    Password: Gpaork3edrecnlau
I've compared the properties on the folders involved on the two laptops by right-clicking them. So far as I can tell, everything is set exactly the same on both computers.
Below are my experiments – the first three on my older Windows 7 laptop all work perfectly. All the rest on my new Windows 8.1 computer do not work.

  • Watch ESPN not working correctly

I have had Apple TV for about 9 months and it has beeen great.  I have just recently run into an issue with Watch ESPN.  It works well for a short period of time but then will start jumping around to parts of the broadcast I have already viewed.  Has anyone else had issues with this? I have thought it might be my wifi connection but I don't have the same problem with the Sky NEWS app and I plugged in an ethernet cord and the ESPN app was having the same issues.  The watch ESPN app works fine on my tablet so it is leading me to think it's not my wifi but the app itself.  Can anyone help me?
    Thanks

I am experiencing the same issue when viewing live college football broadcasts.  Apple TV Watch ESPN app skips around to random points in the game every few seconds while the iPhone version of the app works fine on the same wifi network.

  • Media Folder not working

k, i'm at a loss on this one.
from what i have read the media folder that you designate is where itunes will store and catalog all your music/video etc. c:\...\media folder\ then it will have music and video and podcast etc.
i want it to be C:\docs\ to my music/video/podcasts etc.. if i set my docs folder to be my media folder it just starts cataloging my artists, no \music\artists.
if i make my media folder c:\docs\music, when i import a cd it starts cataloging all my music in c:\doc\music\music\ artists... from what i gather itunes is cataloging correctly here. but when i try to eliminate the music\music by making my media folder just docs, it is not working correctly.
sorry if this is kinda long winded and confusing, but i am really frustrated at such a simple thing not working correctly.

finally after 3 hours of mucking around i found it. although i had itunes set to organize my music automatically. the fix was telling it to re-organize it... stupid itunes...

  • Distiller Watched Folders not working Acrobat 9.5.2, Mountain Lion.

I have just installed Acrobat 9.5.2 on a new Mac running Mountain Lion 10.8.2. Watched Folders don't work. When a .ps file is placed in the IN folder, it get processed by Distiller, but no PDF file is produced. The Distiller log window claims the PDF has been produced and placed in the Out folder, but it's not there. The .ps file is moved or deleted, depending on the setting.
PS files can be dropped onto Distiller in the normal way and PDF files are produced correctly, so it's not a problem with permissions. The problem persists in a new user account, so it's not a User pref issue.
Another Mac with the same setup works fine, so it's not a compatibility bug. I have seen only one other forum page with a similar issue, relating to Distiller 6, but it's not clear what the solution was.

Thanks for the thought. No, it's not permissions. As I say, Distiller can distill a file that is drag 'n' dropped on it from that location and it will save a PDF file to that folder.
The problem occurs even when the folders are within the user domain, where permissions should not be an issue. It also happens on folders that have full rwxrwxrwx attributes.
Watched folders work fine on another computer with the same setup, so it isn't any annoying sandboxing that is stopping everyone from doing anything -- as you say!

  • Picture import not working in PSE 7/8 and windows 7

    Hello
I just updated to win 7 (64 bit) and now I can't get the picture import from my camera working correctly with PSE7. When I plug it in windows ask me how I like to import them and I chose elements but nothing happens. I had no problem with this in Vista before. I have tried the trial version of PSE 8 but I have the same problem with that. The only way I can import my pictures is by starting organizer and select import from there.
    Thanks for any help!

On 64-bit Vista and XP, you can't use the Adobe Photo Downloader with Windows Autoplay:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402507.html
It's likely that 64-bit Windows 7 has the same restrictions.  A workaround is to download Windows Live Photo Gallery and use its downloader, which is pretty good.  Then in PSE, use File > Watch Folders to automatically import photos from the folder hierarchy where you're downloading the photos.

    Hi,
Have you made any progress ?
May I ask what application is it that you are running ? You mentioned that it works locally but not when deploying to Azure. Have you checked the connections strings?
If you are still having any difficulty in understanding the code, perhaps you could post it on the below blog.

  • Smart folder not working correctly

    Hi @all,
I've created a search back when I was using Mountain Lion to copy my Photostream Pictures in specific folder. So I navigated to ~/library/application support/iLifeassetmanagement/assets/sub created and saved a search which will find all files from type "images". For easier access to the folder/search I've put it into my sidebar.
Unfortunately the search isn't working since I've upgraded to Mavericks. First I thought it is a Photostream issue, so I've deactivated and reactivated Photostream in system preferences. And wow, search is working just fine...I thought. The pictures I've taken for testing are present in the search folder. But then once again, no more additional pictures were updatet in he search folder.
So I recreated the search. But nothing changed. Search doesn't find anything, but all pictures taken with my iPhone are copied automatically into a subfolder of ~library/application support/iLifeassetmanagement/assets/sub over photostream. I've double-checked that by clicking through all subfolders and compare the included pictures with the pictures on my iPhone. Once again I've deactivated Photostream in system preferences and reactivated it. Once again it only worked once for the existing pictures. No additional pictures are added to the search.
I did some Internet research an someone mentioned that it could be a spotlight issue. So I've deactivated spotlight in the system preferences for Macintosh HD and reactivated it to force spotlight to build a new index. Then the search is working again once, but any new pictures will not be added although the pictures are within a subfolder of ...assests/sub
With Apperture I can also access all pictures, but no chance over the search I've defined.
Any suggestions or solutions for the above behaviour? I'm running out of ideas...
    Thank you in advance.
    DFault

C, sorry…I read your posts out of order. I see that you have links to your smart groups after all. My apologies.
It's as you say, the course pages load up, but I don't see anything in the smart groups. Just thinking out loud here…maybe the search criteria don't genuinely match anything on your site? Perhaps there are actual matches, but you've hidden content with a new credential?…I accessed both pages using the "Unauthenticated" and "All" credentials. My last/craziest guess is that it has something to do with localization…français versus anglais?

  • Synchronize folder not working in Lightroom 5.7

When I synchronize a folder in Lightroom 5.7 it shows 'Task completed', but nothing happens and Lightroom does not respond anymore. Any advice? Running on Windows 8.1..

I found the issue: From the event viewer I found that there was a problem with a Wifi Scale that my pc was trying to connect to. After removing all references to that device in the registry and restarting windows, Lighroom was working again. Seems perhaps far fetched, but I tested after every small step I tried, and it sounds somewhat similar to the connected phone issues mentioned on the forum..
