Watched part of movie last night, and now trying to watch the rest and it's telling me I have to wait an hour and 40 minutes..... What the
I want to watch the movie now not in another hour or so. If I have to wait the following day to see the rest of a movie, I should get another day of rental.
Unfortunately even if it's all downloaded, doing relatively simple things can flush the whole download and require it to load/buffer again as you have found.
AppleTv 2 has been programmed with an assumptiuon everyone has fast unlimited broadband which is untrue - they could easily code the unit to keep the download until you deleted it even if that limited some other activities on the unit until you selected to delete the film. You should at least have a choice andf not have to redownload.

You may find renting in itunes gets around this but some things will only be SD and will need to download fully to itunes before it'ss play in AppleTV under Computer>iTunes>Rentals.

Sooo basically i bought this imac on craiglist it was a 2009 and well the owner of it...didnt give me the passwords of the accounts, so i asked her by txt if she knew them and well i got no answe..go figure right? anyways i had to look up online how to factory reset it and well i found a very helpful video on youtube, and well it worked all the way up to the reinstall mac os lion which i had not purchased prev..so i called apple and they helped me buy and today i got the code and redeemed it and well i was really excited because that was the last step...until i turned on my imac..hit reinstall mac os lion, signed it, and worked and then!!! It said i would have to wait 335 hours and 53 minutes which i was like OMG how big is this file...i looked it up and well its not THAT big and well even though i left it for awhile...it didnt change...it was not downloading anything, ugh im so fustrated i dont know what to do anymore =(

How is your computer connected to the internet? Wireless? Wired?
What kind of internet service do you have where you are (cable/DSL/dialup)? If you're not sure, run a speedtest from another computer (preferably wired to your router). I use http://speedtest.net. Don't click any of the ads that claim to "Speed up your Mac". Write down and post the download and upload speeds.
Do you have an Apple Store near you? If so, you could go there to download the OS. Or find a location (an office? school?) that has faster internet.

Iphone 4s touchscreen stops responding after a minute or so, I then have to wait at least a minute before the touchscreen works again but soon after it stops responding. I have tried hard reset, turning it off over night, etc

I had that problem as well and the apple support suggested to turn off the LTE-mode to have a running system and try to exchange the micro-sim by my provider.
THAT was not an option!
BUT it seems to solve my problem in the following way after trying a lot of possibilties:
In the menue properties/help (don't know the exact english word, because I run my phone in german)
I switched on the nice feature 'flash LED' by incomming calls, msgs, and push infos.
Today the flash feature was responding to different push notes very slowly.
By switching this feature off the LTE-mode-tochscreen-not-responding-problem disappeared.
We tried this on a other iphone, not having the metioned problem, and switched the LED-flash:
the problem appeared. Switching the LED-flash off: problem disappeared!
It seems to be a bug that the LED will hint Calls and MSGs in combination with the LTE mode!
treated my phone very hard today to double check, but its still ok.
@Apple:
Please fix that issue in the next update.

I'm very disappointed in Apple TV.
I found myself with a couple of free hours this evening and thought I'd watch a movie.
I selected the movie, sat back in my favorite chair, thinking it might be a minute or two to load (all of the other movies have started within a minute).
I'm waiting and waiting....
I click on the movie to check the status and it says ready to play in 9 hours and 46 minutes
So much for spontaneity.

'the other movies' - do you mean other rentals from this AppleTV?
You need to establish what sort of broadband connection speed you're getting which is not necessarily what your provider tells you you might get!

If you've suddenly got slow downloads, then main possibilities boil down to:
- your internet connection has slowed or is being throttled by your ISP (check the small print to see if they throttle at certain times or after so much usage each day)
- Apple's servers have slowed - not usually the case
- your local network has an issue - the internet connection is ok, but the bottleneck is in your local network. Reboot the router and all devices. It might help. -

I downloaded a movie last night from iTunes and it downloaded to my laptop and my phone but for some reason it now won't play on my laptop. The album artwork on my laptop has gone and it exists perfectly on my phone. What do I do?
I paid for it so I'd really like to avoid paying again just to see this movie. Is it because it's on my iPhone? when you rent a movie it gives you 30 days until you start watching it
once you start watching it, you have 24 hours to watch it so idealy your movie expired... -

You can also Report a Problem via the link in your Purchase Invoice e-mail or from your iTunes account Purhcase History by logging into your Account Settings in iTunes on a computer. -
I know its an issue with the computer because when I messed with Appearance settings in System Preferences, the tv picture changed.

So, this is an iMac, and you have an HDTV attached to it as its second screen... Is that correct?
Typically, if the HDTV is acting as the iMac's second screen, it is extending the Desktop. I'm thinking that when you had "no problem" last night, it was set so that the second screen was mirroring what was on the iMac's screen (NOT extending the Desktop). In other words, if you had the movie playing at full screen on the iMac's screen, the same thing appeared on the HDTV screen.
You may have changed that setting so that it is not mirroring anymore. The second screen would then be extending the Desktop. In that case, you would see the "default Apple background" on it until you moved something onto that part of the Desktop (like an open window).
Open System Preferences Displays pane. Go to the Arrangement tab. If the diagram there shows representations of two screen (the iMac's screen and the HDTV screen), the HDTV is set to extend the Desktop. The setting (checkbox) for mirroring should be there, toward the bottom.
However, mirroring is probably NOT the best setting for your setup. If what I wrote so far has been relevant for your original question, you can post back for additional info... -

Please uninstall AI CC 17.0.1 & re-install again. You will be back on to the 17.0.0 version. This is MAC only change.

Hello! I just logged on and plugged my ipad to get the update and it pulled iphoto up like normally, and it said i needed to choose like a place where i wanted my pictures to be stored and then i just did like in my pictures albulm or spot and then i got finally to my normal iphoto and ALL my pics were gone. I had a lot too like 5,000. So, i dont know what to do! And last night i was trying to turn my laptop off, and it kept saying you need to cloe iphoto cause its still in progress, but i had never touched or did anything really with it so i had to force quit iphoto. And then it finally turned out but im not sure what i did.
thanks! All help will be greatly appreciatedHe's asking you if when you launch iPhoto with the option key held down you have the option of opening more than one library. If not then you current library may be damaged and you can try to fix it by applying the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I rented a movie last night on my Apple TV through the iTunes Store. I received a notice asking me to enter my security code from my debit card. I did that, however I never received any confirmation regarding the movie. It charged my iTunes account, and 15 hours later, the movie is still nowhere to be found on my Apple TV. Any suggestions, or thoughts?
