Watching a TV Show I rented on my PC on my ATV

I thought the sync process would pick up this TV show so we could watch it on ATV. No dice. It picks up all music and movies so why not TV shows that are rented?
A related issue is that we cannot pick up Glee on ATV to rent; but I can rent it on my PC....

First or second generation model.
Only first gen models transfer rentals.
Never tried it but will airplay send rentals from iTunes on second gen model.

The ATV2 or ATV3 (small black boxes) don't show up as devices in iTunes. If iTunes and the ATV's have Home sharing turned on for the same account - and are on the same network, the ATV should show up as an AirPlay target device in iTunes.
The rented movie - was this rented on the ATV or in iTunes?
The TV series - where are you trying to play this from? Is it in iTunes or via the 'TV Shows' menu in ATV... i.e streaming from iCloud?

  • If I download a tv show to my iPad can I watch it when I am on an airplane?  Is there a time limit on how long I have to watch the tv shows if I down load a complete season?

If I download a tv show to my iPad can I watch it when I am on an airplane?  Is there a time limit on how long I have to watch the tv shows if I down load a complete season?

If you download a purchased TV Show or movie to the iPad, you can watch them anywhere. I have downloaded several movies to watch on flights.
I don't one know much about TV shows, but as far as I know, you can't rent them, you have to purchase them and there is no time limit because you bought it.

  • How can i watch a netflix show on an airplane, how can i watch a netflix show on an airplane

How can i watch a netflix show on an airplane. Can't stream

If the airline doesn't offer WiFi (or doesn't allow streaming over the WiFi they offer), then you can't. You'll need to rent or purchase a movie from another source so that you can download it onto your device ahead of time.
    Best of luck.

  • HT1551 when we try to watch a purchased show like The Good Wife - the program freezes and the little circle goes around and around - the only way to get the program going is to rewind or fast forward to jump start the movie again. Help!

When we rent a show like The Good Wife while watching the show it freezes and the little circle goes around and around. The only way to get the program going again is to use the remote and go forward or backward. This happens throughout the whole show and it is impossible to watch. Can anyone help? We cannot watch movies or shows this way.

  • Apple TV, Do I have to have an internet connection to the PC or MAC to watch purchased tv shows on my Apple TV ?

Yesterday my internet went down . I thought OK I will watch a couple shows while I wait.  When I brought up my apple TV it failled to start the show. The message came up that the PC needed to be authorized.  Well no internet no authorization and NO TV SHOW. I was ******.  Is there a way around this ? Is this normal behavior ?
Once the internet provider restored service everything worked as normal.

internet connection is not required to watch movie rentals. but you should be sure that the movie rental was fully downloaded. I suggest it would be better to rent on a computer, download on a computer and after this you can transfer the rental to iPad mini. For transferring movie rentals internet connect is required.
Here are the steps described, how to transfer movie rentals from computer to iOS device: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1390

  • Using a family members iPad with my apple ID to watch a tv show I have purchased on my brothers device - get 90 day download warning - why?

I live in Texas and am visiting my family in Georgia.  I didn't travel with my iPad as there are 4 at home I can use.  I sign my brothers Apple ID out in the iTunes Store sign in as myself and attempt  to watch a tv show I have purchased  and get the for 90 days you can't download anything form iTunes to this device with a different  apple ID warning.  Why can't I just stream this tv show on my brothers device since I have purchased it on my device and am logged into iTunes on my brothers device with my apple ID? What a pain in the as?.

First of all would not be streaming the show on his iPad, you would be downloading a purchased item on his iPad for free. And it is something that was not purchased with his ID. It was purchased with your ID. I believe that Apple does that to prevent users from giving each other purchased content without buying it on their own. That's my take anyway.
You can read about associating a device with another iTunes account here.
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID.

  • I have an ipad that I purchased in Australia and my iTunes account is Australian, but when I try and watch Australian TV shows on Australian websites it says that the content is not available because I am not in Australia.

Please help! I have an ipad that I purchased in Australia and my iTunes account is Australian, but when I try and watch Australian TV shows on Australian websites it says that the content is not available because I am not in Australia. How can I fix this?

Are you using a proxy server to access the net?
Or another cause could be that your router thinks it's in its home country (probably china)
I just don't know how to fix it. There's a way but I don't know enough to advise.
You could try googling your router model and 'wrong country' or keywords like that and see if something comes up.

See if your sources have an app and use that.
Or look for a browser that supports flash and use that.

  • Mac OS 10.5.6 Crashed while watching Online TV Shows (Al MacBook)

I am not sure this is the right place for these discussion...But I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
I usually watch TV shows on my Aluminum MacBook, it has worked pretty well thus far; however, after 10.5.6 update, the OS keeps randomly freezing when I watch in full-screen mode. It happened with Heroes and The Colbert Report using both Safari and Firefox. A window popped up saying that I had to press the Power button until the machine restarts.
I have no idea if this is an issue with 3rd a third party plug-in or not. But it worked flawlessly before the latest mac update.
    Anyone experiencing the same problem?
    Thanks!
    Mariano

Sorry I can't help you with that, I watch those same shows and I never have any problems. I would call AppleCare since you still have phone support. They should be able to resolve your problem (1-800-MY-APPLE).

  • How can I watch purchased TV shows on my analog TV?

Is there any practical way to watch the TV shows I have purchased from the iTunes store on my analog TV?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe AppleTV is an option for me because it outputs to digital TVs, only, right?
I am willing to go either wired or wireless, given the following restraints:
My analog TV has the following inputs (only):
    F connection - coaxial
Composite video - yellow RCA plug
My desktop G4 and my TV are about 35-40 ft apart by air (two walls in between), or 50 ft by wire.
    *Wireless options:*
My Mac presently has no wireless capability, but I could add either an original AirPort card (11b) or a PCI wireless card (11g).
*Does anyone know of a wireless box that will connect to my analog TV and receive wirelessly transmitted iTunes content?*
I also have a digital-to-analog converter for digital broadcast TV - any way to use that to convert AppleTV output to analog?
    *Wired options:*
My video card (ATI 9200 flashed for Mac) has S-video out, and I have an S-video-to-RCA adaptor.
The cheapest and simplest option looks like 50 ft of RCA cable.
*Does anyone know if 50 ft run of RCA cable is doable for video and audio?*
My G4 also has an ethernet port, presently in use for my DSL modem, but I believe I could free up that connection if there is an ethernet solution that will connect to my TV.
    Thanks,
    -gw
Wouldn't it be great if I could just burn a DVD and pop it into the DVD player connected to my TV? I know, I know ... but wouldn't it be great?

I failed to mention it - but yes, my TV does have the red and white RCA plugs for audio in addition to the yellow one for video.
The video-capable iPod is a good idea, but I just got a Shuffle (gift), and would be reluctant to buy a second iPod at this time. In addition to the initial cost of the iPod, I have read the cable needed for video-out can be expensive for some models.
I may have found an easy solution, though not as cheap and reliable as I had hoped. While looking for 50 ft of composite video/audio cable (not in stock at Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, or Best Buy), I made an impulse purchase: the Terk "TV Anywhere" model LF-30S - a wireless solution.
Unfortunately, it's a 2.4 GH device, the same as my cordless phone, which causes serious interference - a common complaint about this product. With my phone unplugged, the video looks OK on my TV. I haven't yet heard the audio, because I needed another adaptor to go from 1/8" headphone jack to red/white RCA.
Pending the results of further testing, I haven't decided if I will keep the TV Anywhere or return it. A hard wire would be half the price, but would require drilling holes in my hardwood floors for basement cable routing - but if I get any audio hiss or pops from the wireless, that's what I'll do.
