Watching BT Sport on TV via Laptop App and S-Video...
I am trying to help my 82 year old father and I posted a question on what was required to watch BT Sport on the Box in the other forum and I now understand that as well as signing up to BT Broadband we also need BT TV and a Youview box.
Or do we?
Could we not just use the S-video out socket on the lap top to connect to the scart on the TV ( he has an old but excellent Sony Trinitron TV). One of these would be required:-
MHP 15m PC / Laptop to TV Video Kit 3 Piece - SCART Adapter / S-Video Cable / 3.5mm Jack to 2 x RCA Phono Cable
Has anyone tried this combination? Will the picture quality be less good then connection via Youview+, ethernet cable and BT HomeHub?
Full programmes are available to watch via the 'Video' sections of the app and website.
However, not all programmes are available for on demand catch up. Please see the guidance here

Hi I have a hp hdx 16t laptop, hooked it up to philips 52 inch LED tv via an hdmi cable and get video on tv but no audio. Only sound from laptop, My tv is set to computer hdmi 1 and all drivers up tp date. I have goolged numerous solutions and none have worked. If anybody has the time, a solution would be just great.. jd.If you have the the video drivers installed for your notebook's chipset and the discrete video module then you should see something similar to the folowing image. This is on my loaner HP Pavilion dv7-4180ea. When I connect the notebook to my Philips HDTV the operating system switches to HDMI audio after I direct the video to the TV with the function keys on the notebook.

Problems with opening apps and playing videos
This may seem long but I'm only trying to state all the facts so I don't miss anything that someone can help me with
PLEASE HELP ME!!
About a month ago I got a new ipod touch, with the 2.1.1 or whatever software. I haven't upgraded it.
I first spent hours putting music on, then added applications.
Both music and applications worked.
Then I put on a movie and 5 music videos.
The videos/movie all worked but the apps wouldn't open.
I checked online for app upgrades, none available.
I tried deleting the apps from both the ipod and my itunes, then rebought them and replaced them on my ipod. Didn't work.
Music still worked. Then the videos stopped working. No videos/no apps.
Then I tried restoring, all that jazz that these forums recommended. I restored to factory settings, nothing seemed to work until I erased everything (somewhere in settings on the ipod it says you can erase the drive and it takes about an hour) and after that, started over.
Put the music on, worked.
Put the apps on first, they worked.
Put the videos on, they worked.
Didn't turn the ipod off for three weeks in fear that if I had to restart it, nothing would work again.
Tried to add another app AFTER the movies were the last thing I added, and when the app wouldn't work, I deleted it from both the ipod and my itunes.
Then I tried to start the other apps, they work.
PROBLEM is that my movies/videos don't work now! It says "Cannot play this video."
What the ****. I read before something about the mpeg4 format of movies not allowing apps to open up, but this time I tried to add an app and it wouldn't play the movie. I guess a lot of people are having this problem? Anyone have any new suggestions before I have to erase EVERYTHING, AGAIN from my ipod??

Okay, update from my end.
I did a restore of my Touch. When I restored, I had the choice of "set up as new iPod" or restore from my old iPod Touch. When I clicked on my old iPod name, and hit the scroll arrow to the side, it opened and there were 4 options; previous back ups. I chose my iPod name from August 8, 2009 and restored using that.
After the restore, sync, etc., all music videos & apps are reloaded, working, and my software is 3.1.2.
So, I can't say why the apps & videos wouldn't open after working for several months, but as others have suggested, try restore. However, when given the choice to "set up as new iPod" in iTunes or restore to your previous, click on the scroll where your old iPod is listed, see how many you may have in the history, and pick one a couple months back.
Hopefully this will help some of you out there. -
IPad mini retina "unable to download app" and play videos

Just got an iPad mini with retina display,but can't download any app,not even upgrade iOS,it says "unable to download app".
Video streaming it's not working either on safari....for example won't play any music videos on You tube.
Anyone knows how can I make it work?Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing, Wall Paper, Sound etc will be reset -

We’re aware that a number of you are having problems accessing the BT Sport app. We’re looking into the specific scenarios some of you have described but we thought it would be useful to post up this general guidance as well.
Check you’re ready to watch on the app
If you have ordered BT Sport to watch on BT TV, YouView or Sky you should be set up to use the app as well. All you need to do is download it. You can do that by going to the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
If you want to watch on the app or online only, not on TV
If you are a BT Broadband customer and you just want to watch BT Sport online or via the app (not via TV) you need to activate it first. To activate, just log in to My BT, scroll down and click on BT Sport and follow the steps. If you have more than one account number in your My BT profile, remember to switch onto the one your BT Broadband is billed to.

i use the photon app to access live training i have been asked to do some training and need to know if i can use the camera on my ipad 2 as a web cam and also how can i set up a microphone within the app
i cant seem to find an external device for ipad nor can i get the photon app to regognise the camera or microphone on my ipad2

When I stream videos from my laptop onto my Apple TV via my iPad 2 using the Air Video app/server the video plays great however when I pause the video the Apple TV reverts back to the home screen within a few seconds and then when I want to restart watching the video I have to re-buffer the video. Is there any way I can stop the Apple TV from reverting back to the home screen when I pause the video I’m watching?

Just connect the new iPod to your computer and setup the iPod via iTunes (instead of via wifi).

When can I watch BT Sport via the Sky Platform
I have just sent the following message via the BT 'email us' form, but then I received an email back saying that it could take up to 10 days to respond . Given that I only have another 3 days to cancel my order (if necessary) I thought I'd try and find an answer on here, so here's the message. Thanks in advance...
Please inform me of the DEFINITIVE date on which I'll be able to activate BT Sport through my Sky HD box.
It is (in theory) already active for viewing online or via the app, but I am so far unable to link my Sky viewing card because of an "outstanding order" on my account.
I have spoken to various members of your staff (both on the 'phone and via LiveChat, for which I have the transcript) and I am being given contradictory answers. These answers have varied as follows.
1. I will be able to activate it as soon as I place the order for BT Broadband (so I placed the order without delay on 17/08/2012).
2. I was then told this would be 24 hours after placing said order, so I waited.
3. Thirdly I was told that I could activate it as soon as I give you my MAC key (so I did this on 19/08/2012 as a direct result of this advice, even though I could be charged by my previous Broadband provider for using the key within 7 days).
4. When that didn't work I was told to wait 24 hours after using the MAC key.
5. Finally I was told that I would have to wait until after my BT Broadband goes live on 10th September.
Answers 1-4 have turned out to be false, and as I am now starting to lose faith in the answers provided by BT, I don't hold out much hope for answer 5.
Considering that my reason for ordering BT Broadband was so that I could get BT Sport via the Sky platform, I am increasingly under the impression that I have been mis-sold the product.
Could you therefore please tell me EXACTLY WHEN I'll be able to activate BT Sport via the Sky platform.

I subscribed with Al Jazeera sport channel via their app in the App Store ..but I faced a problem in activating the subscribed channel, I did contact them and they requested me to contact you in order to refund the payment .. How can I refund my money ???

I have Foxtel sports pack for London 2012 App so I can watch on iPad overseas in Netherlands. But my wifes iPad in NL says "unauthorised region" and will not show Videos on Foxtel London Olympics App.? I have changed region and reinstalled App?

I have power cycled the router several times it is a Surfboard sbg6580. still no luck with seeing the airplay symbol on itunes, but Isee it on my phone and can stream music via the airport with my phone. Any APP available yet for watching BT Sport of SMA...
Been a long while since I last checked, can watch BT sports on PC ... but obvious place to watch it is on SMARTTV ... have BT got around to prodcuing an app yet ?

It is frustrating having the BT sports channel in the channel list but not being able to access them, and as PC is in different part of house ... that is not an option.
I know I could use a phone but don't want to tie another device to the TV.I don't see how it is a Logistical nightmare my SMART TV has Apps for many viewers .. BBC, ITV, 4oD, Ch5, Netflix, BBC Sport, Amazon, BlinkBox, TED, GOLD, Youtube, Vimeo etc. These companies seem to keepo up to date with no isssues.
If BT Sports wish to be taken serioulsy then provision of a player would be an obvious direction ... it is frustrating when BT tell me I get this free as a customer but cannot view it on TV without buying seperate h/w.
The whole premise of SMART TV apps is that you can watch without seperate h/w

I have purchased the "Sky Sports TV" app but since my satellite subscription have been cancelled I cant view the channels anymore. I am unsure why I am paying a monthly fee of £4.99 if this does not entitle me to watch Sky Sports, as there is no other functionality in the app other than watching tv channels ( which I cant do currently)

When can I watch BT Sport after ordering broadband...
I'm confused. I ordered BT Broadband on Sunday and am sure that somewhere I saw that I could have BT Sport on my SKY digital platform within 24 hours? Two days on it hasn't happened. The helpful people on the BT phone lines have told me after taking my SKY card details that it will happen in 30 minutes, it didn't . And in a marathon hour long call this evening ended up with me being told that I would only be able to watchbBT Sport on my TV when my broadband is activated on 17th Feb. However in an email exchange with BT just now says I should be able to watch BT Sport within 24 hours of placing an order! Who is right? Help me out here, I'm losing the will to live!
