Watching Movies downloaded on Classic 80GB

How can I watch movies I have downloaded on my IPod classic 80GB to my HDTV.? Is there a special cable I need to attache to the Blue ray player or receiver? Please help me with the steps. Thanks

Thanks. The artile was very helpful. Funny when I called Apple they told me I have a 5th generation IPod not a classic and I cannot download and watch movies on it. This article says differently.
Is there any atricle that you can shear that have the instructions. I would live to be able to download and watch moves on my HDTV.  Thanks again

  • Am I able to watch movies downloaded on my iPhone thru my iPad

I have movies downloaded on my IPhone, am I able to stream them somehow thru my IPad so I can watch them on a larger screen? I have no more space on my IPad to put any more movies on it. I was wondering if there is a cable to connect the two devices together. thanks for any advice.

No. You can't do that. You could delete some content on the iPad and download the movies onto the device to watch them. Most paid content can be downloaded again at no cost as long as you use the same Apple ID you used to make the purchases and as long as the content is still available for download.

  • With intel (2009) mac mini networked to macbook, can i use the mini to watch movie downloads on mh hdmi tv, with right cables of course

I have an Intel Mac mini. Main computer is Macbook on ethernet cable. Can I, with the right cables, use the mini to watch downloaded movies on my HDMI tv?

Use your MacBook Pro because it has FireWire. Use Target Disk Mode on your Mac mini so that the Mac mini will display on the MacBook Pro like a external HDD. You'll need a FireWire 400 cable. You can get one for around $10 if you don't have one. And I recommend getting that sooner than later because you can use that for many things if your computer has issues. Anyway, to put your Mac mini is target disk mode, connect the two computers with the wire. Turn on the Mac mini with the "T" key down after your MacBook Pro has started and ready. You'll see the FireWire logo on your Mac mini. And on your MacBook Pro, you'll see the Mac mini's HDD as an external HDD. Do whatever you need. When you finish, drag the Mac mini drive to the trash to eject it. Few seconds later, turn off your Mac mini to complete the whole process.

  • Can not watch movie downloaded to Ipod touch from Itunes

    Hi,
I am very frustrated; have talked to Apple 3 times now. I have purchased movies from Itunes and synced them to my Ipod. When I look at the movie photo in the display it reads "Invalid" and when I tap the movie picture the message says Movie can not be viewed. I loaded a SD movie. I have the updated Itunes 9 and I recently installed Itunes again. Can anyone help me??? I purchased the unit in July of 09 (16G). I have "Erased all content and settings" hoping that would help. I am able to purchase and sync Apps and music from Itunes to the unit but can not do movies. I am not able to play the purchased movie on my computer either...just a blank, black screen. Can anyone help? thanks,

i've had to download an App called 'air play it' just to listen to my mp3s while im in the living room because i can't send mp3s to my iPod Touch.
'air play it' only acts as a streamer though so i can't copy songs from my Mac to the iPod Touch.
    thanks

  • I cannot watch movies downloaded through the store or from Digital Copies

I have several movies in my iTunes which used to play without issue.  Now, I am able to open the files, but get only a black screen regardless of where I move the slider to, or whether it is paused or playing.

  • How long to wait before watching movie download on apple tv?

Just purchased a tv season, then tried to play the pilot episode. It stopped 2 minuted in... Just froze. Eventually it returned To the apple scrolling pictures.
So I then proceeded back to the episode, pressed start at the beginning (instead of resuming) worked great... Until about 5 minutes in. Freeze Again!
So... How long should I need to wait to start playing the video so that it WON'T freeze?

If it isn't in the Rentals category in the Movie menu, check the purchases history in your iTunes account and see if it's there. If it isn't, you might try one more time and see if it works.
If not, you might want to contact iTunes store support. I had a problem a few months ago with my purchases not completing because of database corruption in the iTunes store that was affecting my account.

  • Issue playing movies downloaded from iTunes on TV when linked to computer via HDMI cable.

Recently I purchased the advance digital copy of "Star Trek Into Darkness" as it was it was released just in time for  moving some people into another state; we planned to watch it when we rested for the day.  After hooking my windows 7 laptop up to a Samsung flatscreen TV using an HDMI cable, iTunes refused to play the movie.  It would play when the computer was disconnected from the TV, and the same error would appear when reconnected.  The error stated that I had to be connected to an "HDCP compatible device."
Is this some way of iTunes forbidding me from watching movies downloaded from their service when connected to an exterior device?  My computer has no issues playing other content, such as netflix, when connected to a TV.
For me it's pointless to buy movies now from iTunes; I feel like I've wasted $20.  Why on earth would I want to sit in front of a computer to watch it when there's a TV five times the size available?

    Hello happylilvampyr,
Unfortunately, this is due to a lack of HDCP support provided by the TV in use. More information regarding HDCP can be found in the following article.
iTunes for Windows: Unable to view or play HD video content that requires HDCP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3354
As an alternative, you can always download the movie in standard definition, which will allow for viewing on non-HDCP devices.
When you purchase an HD video on a supported device or computer, only HD video will be downloaded. To download the SD version, you need to download the video again from your Purchased page. Conversely, if you purchase an HD video on an unsupported device, the SD version will be downloaded. Then, you will need to download the HD version from your Purchased page. • Watch movie on Ipad on tv

I bought the adapter for the Lightening Plug to HDMI plug so we could watch movies downloaded onto my Ipad on my TV.  Got a message that says I can not do so.  What is happening here.  The movie was downloaded from Itunes and I bought it rather then rented it.

no confusion but heres the definition
High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP; commonly, though incorrectly, referred to as High-Definition Copy(right) Protection) is a form of digital copy protection developed by Intel Corporation[1] to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across connections. Types of connections include such as DisplayPort (DP), Digital Visual Interface (DVI), and High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), as well as less popular, or now defunct, protocols like Gigabit Video Interface (GVIF), and Unified Display Interface (UDI).
The system is meant to stop HDCP-encrypted content from being played on unauthorized devices or devices which have been modified to copy HDCP content.[2][3] Before sending data, a transmitting device checks that the receiver is authorized to receive it. If so, the transmitter encrypts the data to prevent eavesdropping as it flows to the receiver.[4]

  • TS1463 I downloaded 3 movies to watch on my IPOD Classic.  One movie went to the IPOD but the other 2 said they couldn't load.  Why would this happen?  I am wanting to watch the movie when I travel and not on my computer at home.

Why can't I download a movie onto my IPOD Classic?  One movie downloaded by 2 only went to my computer.  Can I get a refund?

An iPod classic can generally play video files up to 640 by 480 pixels.  The iPod's screen is actually 320x240 pixels, but it will play 640x480 videos (that are in a compatible format).
However, "HD" (high def) videos are at a higher resolution than 640x480.  Apple often provides both the HD and SD (standard def) versions of the video, when you download it.  The SD version should work with iPod classic.  If a video is in HD only, it won't play on iPod so you can't sync it to iPod.
There is a command in iTunes to convert the video.  Select video on the iTunes library list.  Go up to Menu Bar.  Under Advanced, select Create iPod or iPhone Version.  After converting completes (which can take some time), try syncing that version to your iPod.  NOTE: Some videos in iTunes may not allow conversion due to copy protection (DRM).

  • Can't find my movies on my iPod Classic 80GB

I downloaded some free comedy podcasts that are in movie format.  At first they wouldn't copy to my iPod Classic 80GB.  I then figured out that I needed to create a new version using the menu option in iTunes.  I did that and sucessfully copied the 8 podcasts to my iPod.  With my iPod connected to my computer, I can see the "Movies" category on my iPod and the 8 podcast videos that I placed there.  However, when I disconnect my iPod and search for them, I cannot find them on the iPod.  There is no "Movie" category on my iPod and looking for each one via the "search" feature comes up with no results.  What gives?
If it matters, I'm using a MacBook running 10.6.8 and using iTunes v. 11.0.1
Thanks in advance for any ideas/help you can provide.

Ah! But iTunes and iPods have so many options, it's sometimes difficult to know them all.
I just happen to know that one.
and that's what this forum is for!

  • Can I download to Apple TV in my office next to my iMac and latter move the Apple TV to the room with my HD TV and watch a downloaded movie?

Can I download the movies in my office into a Apple TV unit and where I have my 27 iMac and latter move the Apple unit to my bedroom and watch the downloaded movie in my HD TV?
I am presently watching movies in my 27 iMac downloded from itunes but would love to see them in my hd tv.
Another question would be if i can connect the Apple Tv via the HDMI into my Onkyo hometheater and so i would get the full sound? Or do I have to connect to the hd tv directly?
    Best regards

If it's a first-gen Apple TV (white box), content is stored locally, on its internal HD.  You sync it with iTunes just like an iPod or iPhone, and the files go where the unit goes.
If it's an ATV 2 (black box), content is streamed over the network from any connected computers' iTunes libraries.  In that case, it shouldn't matter where in the house it is, as long as it and the target iTunes library are on the same network and set up for Home Sharing.
As for connecting it to your HDTV or Home Theater, either should work fine, though I believe the HDMI only outputs video, in which case you'll also want to use the Optical output for the audio as well.
    Good luck!

  • I had downloaded a movie from itunes to my ipad prior to getting Apple TV. Connected Apple TV and set up home sharing. Can I now watch movie that I previously rented on Itunes on Apple TV?

I had rented and downloaded movie from Itunes previous to purchasing and installing Apple TV. I set up home sharing with all computers and Ipad.
Can I now watch movie on Apple TV which I had previously downloaded? I tried to access on Apple TV but videos show as empty.

You cannot access the movie from the Apple TV screen. You would need to use airplay on the iPad to stream the video to the Apple TV.

  • I have new IPad ...can't watch rented downloaded movie on my tv..error message is " The connected display is not authorized to play protected movies"... What is up with that???

I have new IPad ...can't watch rented downloaded movie on my tv..error message is " The connected display is not authorized to play protected movies"... What is up with that???

I had exact same problem and I have found a way to get round out!!!! Easy!
So the reason it doesn't allow it to play is for security to stop piracy etc.
Plug in the cable and VGA and aux cable and get everything set up so you are looking at the home screen.
    1) select Videos
    2) selected the film you want to watch
    3) click the little play button
    4) it will then come up with the message saying it can't play protected films blah blah blah
    5) WITHOUT clicking ok double tap the home button to bring up the multitasking bar and swipe left to reveal the control panel
    6) hold fast forward for a second or two and the movie with continue to play!
Stay in the multi tasking bar with the control panel, The message will stay there but don't worry. Kick back and enjoy your iPad movie on the big screen:)
I'm sure your saying thanks:) it was my pleasure realising I've outsmarted apples little security protection thing lol
