Hey,
I have an issue that i need to resolve now. I have downloaded a lot of movies on my pc and i wish to reproduce them on itunes so i can watch them on my tv with my apple tv. Ive already played music through home sharing but i want to play movies now. Any help?

Videos and movies purchased from the iTunes Store are by demand of the content owners copy protected and cannot be edited, regardless of what the software is you attempt to use. There is nothing anyone here can do to help you with that. If you need to be able to edit videos, you'll need to purchase and import the DVD - such importing is despite the content owners' efforts still legal for class use (as with any copyright issue, confirm fair use issues with your district's legal office) though we can't discuss methods here - which you'll then be able to edit.

I have bought an HDMI outlet for my MacBook Pro, My TV doesn't have HDMI so i bought an HDMI DVD player at big lots (GPX HDMI DVD Player) the mac to HDMI transfer outlet (Rocketfish) i got at best buy same goes for the HDMI outlet. I'm the type that doesn't want to buy more stuff that costs over $40 just to watch movies from iTunes to my TV. I don't want to have a complexed installment i just want to know how to get this going before i get frustrated and stressed out. So could you help me with this situation Please?

Problems watching movies on iTunes -- lagging video, distorted audio

Hello. I have a black MacBook running Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) and iTunes 9.0.2, and I'm having some problems. It's been going on for a few weeks now, and is worse some days than others, but the overall trend has been downward, so I wanted to try to get some help before it gets any worse.
The problem occurs when I try to watch movies on iTunes. I haven't had any problems with any other aspect of iTunes, although I don't really use any other aspects of iTunes at the moment besides the iTunes Store (I don't listen to music through iTunes or anything). Anyways, here's the problem:
Sometimes, when I'm watching a movie on iTunes, it will randomly (or seemingly randomly) glitch on me. I use the general term "glitch" here because the problem can manifest itself in one of a few different ways:
1.) The picture will freeze for a quick moment (less than a second usually) and skip forward real quick to catch up, and then sometimes, after it does this, it will go back to normal and keep playing the movie correctly. Other times after it does this, however, it will continue playing the movie, but with lagging video. When I say "lagging video", I mean that the video is slowed down, as if in slow motion. The audio remains normal. This only seems to happen in full screen mode (although I don't really watch movies any other way), so when it happens, I can generally hit escape to go back to regular viewing mode and it will fix itself, although sometimes I have to quit out of iTunes and reopen it.
2.) On rare occasions, instead of the video lagging problem, the picture will freeze all together, and if I recall correctly, the application always freezes with it.
3.) Less commonly than the video problem, the audio will become distorted. This usually occurs separately from the video issue, but can occur simultaneously as well. When this happens, the audio gets really scratchy and distorted, as if it was being filtered through a low quality children's boom box microphone. iek the video problem, this problem occurs randomly in the middle of watching the movie, but unlike the video problem, this problem persists after I quit out of iTunes. Quitting iTunes does not fix the problem in this case, unlike with the video lagging. When I quit iTunes, the distorted audio remains an issue an any application I use, and I have to wait awhile for it to go away on its own. So, unlike the video lagging, this audio issue seems to exist outside of iTunes, although it always starts with iTunes.
Can anyone help me figure out what is going on here? I've looked for patterns in other applications that are open during the times these problems occur, but haven't found any. I do have Norton AntiVirus installed on my computer, and I did notice awhile ago that any time I try to watch a movie on iTunes while I have a virus scan going on, I always get a glitch on iTunes, so I stopped running those two applications at the same time a long time ago, but I still have the problem. Should I try reinstalling iTunes? If I do this, will I lose any of the music or movies or apps that are in iTunes? I would assume not, but I just want to make sure I don't need to back anything up if I want to reinstall iTunes.

I'm having the same issue with the extremely distorted audio track on itunes video. It's worst on the speech, which is hard to hear, garbled, a lot of scratchy noise overtop of it; the music tracks are somewhat better (and much much louder). This started a bit ago and was intermittent at first, now very bad, can;t get rid of it.
I have a lot of itunes video, and since it is all protected, to my knowledge it is not playable through any other player... so this is a real problem. Reinstalling itunes (9.2.1) did not help. Sometimes VLC also distorts sound (on other video), more often that's fine but itunes is not.
I would love to have a solution to this-- my video library is not much use.

Solution found.
I am a Vodafone customer and installed the Vodafone app which asks you to turn off wifi connection on installation as it needs to communicate with their servers over 3G.
After restoring the iPad via iTunes this is the only app that I did nor re-install and seems to be too much of coincidence that while in full screen view watching films my wifi is switched off and 3G data connection is established 10 - 15 minutes into a fiilm and my data allowance gets eaten up!
I would also get push notifications from Vodafone saying "my daily data usage was almost used" with this app installed.
Have tested and on 3rd time watching sky go still wifi is on after 30 mins.
DO NOT INSTALL VODAFONE APP FROM THE APP STORE.

Movies rented on Apple TV aren't transferable to another device. If its taking awhile to load then its an issue with your network.
What is your speed via speedtest.net
1080p requires 8mbps
720p needs 6mbps
You can change to SD in settings
Interference can cause issues, verify via istumbler or netstumbler
Should be using ISPs DNS (settings - network - DNS should be automatic)

Watching movies from iTunes library on AppleTV

I have several movies in iTunes which have both English and French audio and can watch them either in English or in French on my computer no problem. But when I go to watch a movie from my iTunes library on my TV in the living room through the Apple TV which is hooked up to it I do not have the option of watching the movie in French or in English and cannot find a way on changing the language using the remote that came with the Apple TV.

Difficult to say not knowing what you already know or don't know about this device, which device you are using, or which update you are operating under. Basically, if you are running either device under the latest available firmware update, then pressing and holding the "Select" button will open a window which allows you to select a secondary audio track. Alternately, you can go to the "Settings > Audio & Video" menu and manually set the "Language" menu. In addition, if you are using the "Default" Language option, you can alter the active (i.e., the start-up "default") language externally with an application like QT 7 Pro.

TS3772 trying to watch movies on itunes

i downloaded a movie off itunes and i tried to watch it but it said i need to download quick time. i downloaded quicktime and tried to play the movie but the same thing still pops up telling me i cant watch it and that i need to download quick time. does anybody have an answer for this or can help me out? thanks

This display should have come with a power brick (150 watts). One of the display's plugs goes to the brick, which has an AC power cord to plug into the wall.

Why does watching movies using iTunes & Netflix judder on Apple TV?

I have connected my Apple TV to my network both wireless & ethernet but still get the same issue. The judder seems to happen more on sweeping camera shots. It doesn't cause a movie to be unwatchable but it is off putting and am disgruntled when I have bought some movies via iTunes. If this issue happened with a DVD, I could take it straight back to the shop as a faulty product but from what I've read this seems to be a known problem. Same judder happens on Netflix however if I play it via my PS3 then it's seamless. I have also swapped over HDMI cables with various low to high end but again makes no difference. I don't believe it's the way the iTunes & Netflix apps are written on the Apple TV as they both have this judder. As mentioned earlier, Netflix works fine on the PS3 so that also eliminates my internet connection (Virgin Media Optic 60MB). So it leads me to believe that it is either a configuration, hardware or firmware issue on the Apple TV itself. Details are Model MD199B/A, Serial C07KJABBFF54, Apple TV Software 5.3 (6105) & TV Resolution 1080p HD - 60Hz. All Audio & Video settings are set to Auto however I have tested with specific HDMI & TV resolution outputs with the same results. In case it helps, I have a Samsung Smart TV UE46D6500 and I turn off my Apple TV every night. I hope one of you has a solution to this. Many thanks.

if I purchased a movie from itunes store and then downloaded it to my HP will I still be able to download the movie to my MAC? If so how can I do this?
I use the HP as a desktop and my mac as my laptop.

I've tried and failed also with my MacBook - even though there's a tick in the multiple speakers setting. Shame really, as I'd like to pipe some of my movies into a home cinema room. I guess I could run a cable from the headphones outlet into the back of the AV amp but going via AirPort should be so much neater - if only it would work. Maybe Apple will deliver in next release of Leopard...

Watching Movies on iTunes Stutters and Locks Up

Hey all,
I have a new Laptop, Windows XP installed. I watched a TV show tonight, 1 hour, (Farscape, woo hoooo), and perhaps every min or perhaps 4 min's, the screen freezes. At 2 points, the voice mis-matched, and I closed out iTunes and reopened it to restart the show at the drop point.
Any idea's what this could be?
I tried full screen mode, regular screen size.
This computer is Alienware and has dual SLI cross fire Graphics Cards. Could that be a possiblity that iTunes isnt capable of playing movies in SLI mode?

Why can I no longer watch movies in itunes?

Downloaded a movie and had no problem watching it. Today I try to watch it again and no luck. What's going on? I purchased the movie from the Apple Store

I do not think it is a problem to play videos in the full screen mode using the video app. It should work just fine, it does work ok for me on iphone 5. The original question was to play music videos in the music app. Music videos and videos are two different things - I am not sure why but they are.
The problem here is that the music app supports lists and the video app does not. I just looked at the ios7 video app and while my few test videos are shown in it, the lists they were in (in iTunes) are nowhere to be found. There is no lists in the video app - period - which is as it was before.
The video app plays videos and music videos in the full screen mode no problem but if you have a few hundreds or more of such videos you will have hard time finding the one you want to play. There is simply no way to categorize or group videos. The old good folders/directories are, I guess, too simple for Apple. It is just too bad that for years on end the world's leader in S/W development did not offer anything to categorize videos.
You have lists, albums, etc., for music, you have albums for pictures but you have absolutely nothing for videos. And this is and has been the Apple's state-of-the art solution for this problem - simply insist that the problem does not exist. Actually it is getting worse. Not only there is nothing to categorize or group videos but now the only way it could be done (by marking videos as music videos and using the music app) results in a mini playback area.
Soon this OS will be able to cook dinner for your but grouping videos... no way.
What is happening here???
