Watching movies stored in iPod on TV

Hi,
I will like to know how can I watch the movies stored on my Video iPod on TV. Also what about the resolution, the resolution of the movies on iPod will be less than that of TV, so when I play the movie on the TV, will the resolution be small or it can be automatically adjusted by iPod.

Avinash, if you want to put any video on your iPod, you will need to ,encode it at a resolution of 320 by 240 (h.264) or 480 by 480 (MPEG4) pixels, so the iPod will not adjust the res. automatically because the maximum res. is limited to 480 by 480 (it still is bigger than the iPod's maximum of 320 x 240).
I've found that watching 480 by 270 pixels widescreen movies on my 17" LCD monitor is OK. Also, keep in mind that although a DVD has a res. of 720 by 480, 480 by 270 will certainly be of a lesser quality than a DVD, but could match the res. of a VHS (I don't know what's it's resolution but it is less than a DVD).

  • How Do I Watch Movies (Stored On iPod) On My TV?

I have a movie on my iPod that I want to watch on my TV.
What do I need to do? Do I need a special wire? If so, where do I plug it into the iPod and where do I plug it into my TV?

  • Can I watch movies stored on tc through wi-fi on my mac

can I watch movies stored on tc through wi-fi on my mac?

Streaming over wireless.. Hmmm if I say it works well and it doesn't I will get the blame.. if I say it doesn't work and he tries it and finds out it does.. he will think I'm a dupe or a dope..
There is no single right answer. On paper yes, wireless can do it.. in practice.. it depends on a huge number of variables. My experience.. and not with this equipment.. is that wireless can happily stream a show for an hour.. and then suddenly start to judder and flutter and pause and cause angst and misery. I don't trust it. Try it and see.. it might work good for you. It might work sometimes.. it might not work at all. Or it could just be snail like slow. Use the experimental method.. suck and see.
On more general note.. what files are you going to play from the TC.. I use WD Live as it plays everything.. Apple make the ATV to link to itunes.

  • I am trying to watch movies stored on a WD Elements hard drive but how do I play them through my macbook pro? Thank you

Please can anyone help me - I want to watch movies stored on an WD Elements external hard drive through my macbook pro.How do I do this as it seems to keep asking for an application to open it?

What format are the movies in? At the end of the file name you should see something like .mp4, .avi, etc. You probably need a program like this one:

  • TV Out display shows when I try to watch movies on my iPod?

I used an 80GB classic, brand new. Though I'm not connected to any output device aside from my earbuds, whenever I try to play a movie, any movie, on my iPod it displays "TV Out Enabled -- Please Connect Video Accessory." Obviously I don't want to go out and buy a tool to watch videos on an iPod that should be able to play them; what exactly is going on and how do I DISABLE TV Out?

how do I DISABLE TV Out?

  • FINALLY i can watch movies on my ipod

I have been fighting for two days to get my movies to transfer to my ipod and finally got it to work. for all you you fighting as well this is what I did. I tried everything. handshake, viderora, p2p, mac ripper. and qucktime did the trick. this is what I did. I had all my mpeg4 hanging around from the failed attempts. oh by the way handshake rips the best. videroa is ok but the best for pc. then I opened the mpeg4 file in quick time and went to file export. in the save box where it asks you what type of file you want select export for ipod. then let it go. it takes a while and looks like it freezes but just let it go. then drag it to itunes. make a movie playlist and go to ipod option. select movies and do automatic sync and check folder. the walla it works. hope it works for yall as well. just thought someone could finally give everyone an answer sense I couldn't find one. good luck.

Hmmm, the video should work with all of these programs without needing to buy Quicktime...
Are you sure you weren't using the H.264 profiles in these free programs... it is widely accepted that only Quicktime gets this working. The only format that is guaranteed with the others is the MPEG-4 files — they are slightly larger in size, but at higher bitrates they perform as well as H.264 until we get bug fixes in.
    Just my thoughts...

  • Can not watch movie downloaded to Ipod touch from Itunes

    Hi,
I am very frustrated; have talked to Apple 3 times now. I have purchased movies from Itunes and synced them to my Ipod. When I look at the movie photo in the display it reads "Invalid" and when I tap the movie picture the message says Movie can not be viewed. I loaded a SD movie. I have the updated Itunes 9 and I recently installed Itunes again. Can anyone help me??? I purchased the unit in July of 09 (16G). I have "Erased all content and settings" hoping that would help. I am able to purchase and sync Apps and music from Itunes to the unit but can not do movies. I am not able to play the purchased movie on my computer either...just a blank, black screen. Can anyone help? thanks,

i've had to download an App called 'air play it' just to listen to my mp3s while im in the living room because i can't send mp3s to my iPod Touch.
'air play it' only acts as a streamer though so i can't copy songs from my Mac to the iPod Touch.
    thanks

  • Can I watch movies without wifi on my iPod touch.

Why can't I watch movies on my iPod touch?

I remeber some otherusers have the same problem but do not remember the solution. I would try start watching it with wifi on and then see if you can play the whole movie again without wifi.

  • Can you watch movies on the new iPod nano?

I know you can watch movies on the iPod video, but i wasnt sure if i'd be wasting my money on buying a movie from the itunes store and not being able to watch it.
      Windows XP

The iPod nano does not support video. The processor is not strong enough, along with other things.
Also, do not try iPod Linux, even though you might hear that its awesome.
    1. Even iPod Linux does not support iPod nano downloads.
    2. Voids any Warranty you have on yoru iPod.
    3. Not unusual for it to leave your iPod as a large domino, and with no warranty, you're out of luck.
    I hope this helps!

  • I can't transfer any movies to my iPod touch

I rented one movie and bought another one. I read all the FAQ's and how-to's on how to move them to your iPod, however when i try to do that, i get an error message. When i go into my iPod and click the 'movies' tab, and then click the 'move' button for the movie i rented..it says that it cannot be copied because it can't be played. Okay...so i went and found an article about that saying to go to 'advanced' and click 'convert to use with ipod/iphone' and that is not an option for the rented movie or any of the other movies. Then i bought a movie, and when i went to go to advanced, and then and instead of it saying 'convert for use with iphone/ipod' it says 'convert to mp3.' so i tried that and it gave me another error message saying that protected files cannot be converted to another format. I dont know what i'm doing wrong and how to fix it. I would really like to be able to watch movies on my ipod touch. After all, that is one of the big features about it

yes. i updated itunes and quicktime to the newest versions last night and i just bought my ipod last night, so it came with the newest firmware update.

  • Playback movies stored on PC / NAS through DVR?

The only reason we've kept out TiVO is to be able to watch movies stored on our computer and NAS.  I want to get rid of the TiVO and get a 2nd Verizon DVR but I'm not seeing an easy way to make our home media library available through the DVR?  It looks like Media Manager would have done it, but for whatever reason VZ has discontinued it (and removed the download links for it) and won't be replacing it.
Looked into Chromecast and that seems to be no longer an option as well.  There has to be a better way to do this than hooking up a PC via HDMI (it's an older Panasonic plasma and can't access the NAS directly like newer TVs)

You would have to point the media to iTunes, and have it running in order for the ATV to see it.
The only ways around that would be if it was a wireless drive that provided an app for streaming through an IOS device, or by connecting to the router and searching for a 3rd party app (on IOS).

  • Minor color issues while watching videos on my iPod

Hey, I have a minor issue, but still an annoying one. When I watch movies on my iPod, I have to hold the iPod tipped towards me at about a 15 to 20 degree angle in order for the colors to be right. If I hold it at a comfortable angle to my eyes, the dark colors turn kind of funky, which makes dark scenes difficult to see sometimes.
Resetting the brightness doesn't seem to help. Are there any other settings somewhere that could help rectify this problem?

plug in your headphones. LOl jk, maybe your videos got corrupt because of a error. A few videos on my ipod got corrupt because of videora, and i still dont know why. Like sound would trail of drastically.

  • Watch a movie on my iPod classic?

I have a movie on a DVD, and want to load it onto my iPod (classic) so that I can watch it on my iPod. Can I import this movie into iTunes and then synch it to my iPod, or load it in some/any other manner onto my iPod??? THANKS!

Just in case you're talking about a DVD of home movies or other video disks that have no licensing restrictions on them I'd like to point you to some software possibilities.
You could use DVD Fab which is a fully functional product and does full reading/conversion for you. If you go and buy it ensure you get the "mobile" option.
A free software product that is very good too is Handbrake. It will read the disk and convert it to any number of formats.
Both products have profiles you can use to have the media properly formatted for the screen size you'll be viewing them on.

I rented a movie on my ipod touch and want to watch it on my computer because my ipod is having trouble downloading over wifi. How do you find your rental purchases to download on a computer?

    You cannot.
iTunes Store: Movie rental frequently asked questions (FAQ)
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer."

  • I purched a movie on my ipod touch and connected to my toshiba and i cant find it or watch it?

i purched a movie on my ipod touch and conected it to my laptop and i cant find it or watch it ?

Have you tried transfering the movie by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
Does it play on the iPod?
It is a purchased move and not a rental right?  If you rent a movie on the 4G iPod you can't transfer it to a computer.
