Watching my Blueray/DVD movies on my iPad Air

I want to watch my Blueray/DVD movies on my iPad Air. I have a PC with a Blueray optical drive.
How do I do that?

If your DVDs and Blurays come with a digital copy, follow the instructions provided with the disk to transfer the movie to your iPad.

How do I upload my dvd movies to my IPad 2?

This would have to be one of the bug bears of iTunes: you can put a music CD in your Mac's optical drive and iTunes asks if you want to import it, but will not do the same for a movie you already own and want to watch on your Mac using iTunes!
I haven't bought a DVD for years, and happily buy movies, or rather, when at home rent them from the iTunes Store.
The only way to get movies onto your iPad is to buy movies from iTunes and sync the iPad (make sure you have ticked the sync movies option in the iTunes device settings AND tick only the movies you want in the movies list) or buy movies via the iTunes app on your iPad, or do stuff that is illegal.

  • How To Get DVD Movie On To iPad?

    Hi..
I'm trying to figure out how to get a DVD movie onto the iPad. I know you can convert certain formats using the Handbrake software. But has any one attempted this yet?
Also, I've tried a few times to download Handbrake from versiontracker.com and didn't have any luck... I'm essentially stuck in a loop and the download never starts (I'm not sure if any one else has had the same problem).

Yes, I've done it successfully. The iPad seems happy with the apple TV format without any additional conversion. I don't know why you're having issues with the download, I downloaded mine ages ago.

  • HT201272 Can't get movie rental from iPad air to show up on iPhone 4S?

How do you get a movie rental on iPad air to show up on iPhone 4S so we can watch??

You can't, rentals are one-time only downloads, and from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657 :
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

  • How can play one of my DVD movies on my ipad?

How can I play DVD  moviesv on my iPad 2-16 GB WI-FI ??? I  Am not too computer savvy:(

The easiest way would be to buy iTunes copies. Or subscribe to Netflix or other streaming service.
Converting commercial DVDs to the MP4's that the iPad will play requires a person to crack the copy protection encoding. And since that act is illegal in many parts of the world, no one here can tell you how to do it.
Now if you have a homemade dvd, something not protected, you can look into a program like Handbrake to convert the formats

  • How can i delete an incomplete movie download on ipad air?

I used the app "12 presents" that gives the user everyday a new present that is only downloadable on this very day. One of these presents was a movie track I started to download. But unfortunately my internet broke down and so the download kept incomplete. Since you cannot download the present on the next day, there is no way to complete it now.
Thus I can see the incomplete movie in the movie folder but I cannot open and watch it. Therfore I want to delete it - which is also not possible. There is no delete or change button whatsoever.
    I use ipad air.
I would be thankful for any ideas. Maybe I'm not the first one to have this problem.
    Thanks!

Unfortunately the Mail app on the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch does have the option to clear previous recipients. If you don't want to live with it, the only way to remove these cached email addresses from the Mail application is by restoring the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch as a new iPad/iPhone/iPod.  If you restore from backup, the cache is also restored.
This article shows you the screens you will see during the restore:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

  • ITunes fails to copy movies to new iPad Air

    Hello,
I got myself this new iPad air to replace my 3rd gen iPad. I naturally wanted to transfer everything from one device to the other so I did a backup on my local PC (Windows 7 x64, iTunes 11.1.3.8), connected the new device and instructed iTunes to restore the backup from my previous iPad (I then reset and cleared the iPad so I could gift it)
It took some time, but it worked for pretty much everything. The exception being my music and vidoes. I could see them as being on the ipad from iTunes on my computer but the iPad itself reported empty libraries.
For music, I just enabled the iTunes match service on the ipad (for some reason, it wasn't activated) but I have to manually delete all movies in the device from iTunes and sync them again.
That worked but not very well and only once.
It didn't work very well because, while I had the movies on the iPad, could see the details when I tapped one and play it just fine, none of the movies had a title displayed in the library (on in the detail when i tapped on it).
I tried to fix it by re-setting the meta tags in iTunes, delete the movies again from the iPad and then re-upload them but now, no movie will upload at all: iTunes would state that it it synching the first one, spend a lot of time and then finally time out. On the iPad, I can see a generic movie icon apearing suring the transfert and then an error apear in the notification center asking me to check iTunes and no movie any more.
All these movies are ripped from DVDs so none contains any DRM.
Of course, everything worked just fine with my previous iPad.
Any suggestion on how I can solve this ?
    Thank you

Same exact thing happened to me today.  I opened up iTunes and it isn't recognizing my iPad as one that I already set up and is saying "Welcome to Your New iPad" and making me either set it up as new or to restore from a backup.  I don't want to do either and it won't let me get past this screen; I am being forced to pick one or the other and unable to sync anything!  What the heck!

I know the movie formats is correct.
I just cant find out why it wont accept my movies.

hi dylan, and welcome to the discussion area !
i don't have FCE but, isn't there an export or share option (like in QT pro) that will convert those files to a iTunes friendly format ?

  • Watch instead of download movies on the iPad

    Hello,
with some movies in the itunes store, I get a watch button instead of download. These are movies I've allready purchased. Why does this happen and, how can I get my other movies to be set to watch as well?
    thanks,
    josh

If I do a search for one of my movies in the iTunes app, find the movie and then tap on the movie icon - I also get a Watch Button in the description window of the movie. If I tap on Watch - the movie starts in the Videos app.
You should see the Movies in the purchased section of the iTunes app and when you tap on any movies that are not on the iPad, a description window should popup with the cloud icon on it so that you can download the movie.
Go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Show all>Videos>On. Then go back to the videos app. That setting should make the Moives that are in iCloud appear in the app and you can watch or download them from there.
The only reason that I can think of that you wouldn't be able to download the movies is if you had restrictions set up for content that would prevent the movie from downloading. Settings>General>Restrictions>Allowed Content>Movies.

  • HT1657 How do I watch my iTunes rented movie on my iPad I downloaded it over night and now I can't find it

I have downloaded a movie through iTunes onto my iPad over night and now I can't find it its not under iTunes purchases like my music is and I don't know where else to look for it and I don't know how to play it. Help?

It should be in the Videos app - iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store, so videos and tv shows should be in the Videos app and music and audiobooks in the Music app

  • Loading DVD movies into iTunes 10.6.3 over OS10.6.8 stream to iPad

    Hi,
I am on holidays and want to watch a DVD (No Code of Conduct, always been a Martin Sheen fan) I bought at a Yard Sale. My van is set up to port the iPad audio through the van stereo and has a mounting bracket for the iPad that makes it handy to watch while in the bed. Fortunately, I brought my MacBook along for the DVD player. I want to watch the movie on the iPad while it is playing in the MacBook. I tried to load the DVD into iTunes for Home Sharing , but no luck there.
How do I stream a DVD movie to my iPad from my MacBook?
    Ken

Sorry Winston, but I can and have done it.
Not the way I wanted to but it works none the less.
First, convert the DVD to a format usable by iTunes
Second, import the converted movie to iTunes and turn on home sharing for the MacBook AND the iPad, log in both machines
Third, make sure both devices are connected to the same network. I also tried turning on web sharing on the MacBook but for some reason we sharing wouldn't run so I connected to an another available network.
Last, run Video on the iPad, select the movie and badda bing, it works.
NOTE, try this with a better movie next time. Although I like Martin Sheen, not the best choice.
    Ken
PS. I'll report back when I get websharing working to see if it runs without an outside network.
PPS. Since the movie was loaded into iTunes it was easy to sync the movie into the iPad for watching without the help of the MacBook.

  • HT3209 Can I watch a rented movie on an Ipad if I am not hooked up to wi-fi at the time I watch it but previously downloaded it to my ipad?

Can I watch an Itunes rental movie on an Ipad if I am not hooked up to wi fi
at the time I watch it.  (but previously downloaded it to the ipad.)?

You should be able to watch a rental while you are not connected to WiFi. However, the movie has to be fully downloaded to the iPad and must be stored on the iPad in order to watch it.

  • How can I watch previously purchased movies on my ipad?

How can I watch my previously purchased movies on my ipad?

You cannot stream them to your iPad unfortunately... You can download them however. Go to the iTunes Store app -> tap the purchased button at the bottom right -> tap the view: Music in the top left and select Movies. From there you can download the one you want...
