Watching purchases ITunes movies on a TV

I bought the AV cable and connected my IPOD to my TV according to these instructions. I am receiving audio, yet no video, any idea what's wrong?
Method 1 setup (Composite video)
This method can be used when the supported iPod is either in or out of the dock. Additionally, you would need a television or other video device that has RCA inputs.
Connect the AV cable into the iPod (where the earbuds would normally connect) or to the line out port on the dock.
Connect the red RCA connection into the right audio input of the television.
Connect the white RCA connection into the left audio input of the television.
Connect the yellow RCA connection into the video input of the television.

From the users manual - > http://support.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/ACSerialReceiver.woa/wa/manualsList? config=WEK-V9K-V9V-W9G
Choose Photos > Slideshow Settings, and Set TV Out to Ask or On.
To view a slideshow on a TV:
1 Connect iPod to a TV (see above).
2 Turn on your TV and set it to display from the input ports connected to your iPod. See
the documentation that came with your TV for more information.
3 On iPod, select any photo or album and press Play. Or select any full-screen photo and press the Center button.
To pause the music and the slideshow, press the Play/Pause button. To skip to the next or previous photo manually, press the Next/Fast-forward or Previous/Rewind button.
If you selected a playlist in Photos > Slideshow Settings > Music, the playlist plays automatically when you start the slideshow. The photos display on your TV and advance automatically according to settings in the Slideshow Settings menu.

  • HT204370 Watching purchased iTunes movies from iPad on iMac?

I purchased a movie through iTunes on my iPad (4th generation). Can I watch the movie on my iMac (OS X 10.9.4) too? If so How?

Depending upon what country that you are in (and if the film is still in the store) then you might be able to redownload it on your Mac's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage. If not then connect your iPad to your Mac's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy it over.

  • Watching  purchased iTune movies with no internet

I bought a Lacinema external HD because they said you could watch MP4 movies with it. I purchased 3 seasons of TV shows and several movies only to find that it won't play movies from iTunes.
Please help me. I have spent soooo much money at iTunes, and I just want to take my shows for a long weekend with the girls. We are in a remote cabin with no internet. I have purchased these can't I watch them from my personal external HD in some way?
    I leave in 48 hours!!!
    Tracy

No error. It just won't play. Could it be because I already moved the shows to external HD and deleted them from iTunes.
In the past, I have been able to pull these off the external HD, and still watch them. I just tried that and nothing happens.
My yearly subscription is due so I took care of that just in case that was the problem. I deauthorized all computers because it said I have 5 authorized, and only have two (unless ATV counts as a 3rd). Went I went to authorize laptop it says "a required iTunes component is not installed (error 42403).

  • Delete Purchased iTunes Movies and TV programs

I have purchased itunes movies and TV programs that I want to delete from itunes permanently.  They were deleted until I purchased Apple TV.

    Hello filburt,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. The 2nd and 3rd generations of Apple TV do not have traditional storage. What you are seeing is the purchase history and it will stream from iTunes when you want to watch. It isn’t taking up space on your Apple TV

  • HOw do I watch my itunes moves from myMacbook air through HDMI connection

I purchased the HDMI cables for my Macbook Air and connected to the TV to watch my purchased itunes movies. The TV screen went black. Am I missing a step?

iTunes does not have provision for automatically storing one kind of media on a separate drive, so you have some basic decisions to make first.  Do you want these movies to still appear in your iTunes library, or are you content with browsing filenames on a drive in Finder when you want to look for one?  The second's the easiest thing because then you don't have to have an external drive permanently turned on and attached to your computer (wired or wireless).  To do that you literelly only need to drag your movies folder to an archive drive and delete movies from iTunes.  To watch them again you can add it back to iTunes while holding down the option key so the movie is used from its location on the external drive.
There's ways to move the movies to an external drive while keeping them in iTunes but the external drive iwll always have to be turned on and connected to the computer or you will see a bunch of broken link exclamation marks.
Realize what you are talking about is not "backup".  Backup (which you should do) is putting a second or more copy of items on external drives for the day when your internal drive fails and everything on it is lost, inclduing all your home photos and perhaps things that have been pulled from the iTunes Store and can no longer be re-downloaded.

  • How can I put my recently purchased iTunes movies on to my thumb drive and WD My Passport external hard drive. My Mac keeps saying "can't be copy because it is too large for the volumes format

How can I put my recently purchased iTunes movies onto my thumb drive and WD my passport external hard drive. My Mac is saying that can't be copied because it is too large for volumes format

[file] is too large for the volumes format
That is usually an indication that the Volume was never Erased or Partitioned for GUID partition table and Mac OS, and is still in a Windows format.
Mac OS X Extended (journaled) has no such file-size limitations

  • Can I watch an iTunes movie rental on a TV connected via mini displayport?

I'm not sure if there's been any headway with this, but I've got a mini displayport to HDMI adaptor on the way that I'm going to use to connect my MacBook Pro to my HDTV, effectively using the TV as an external monitor.
And of course, I want to watch some iTunes movie rentals on the TV instead of my laptop, but digging around the internet has shown that I might be facing an issue relating to the HDCP standard that would prevent me from being able to use my TV in this manner.
Is this still an issue? I have a fall 2009 MacBook Pro, which may be important, as I've read that Apple modified the mini displayport on the MacBooks in 2010.
Other than renting a movie as a sort of guinea pig with the possibility of being shot down and wasting my money, is there any way to know if this is going to work? Or is it simply a fact that any monitor/TV connected to my MacBook through the mini displayport is incompatible with HDCP, and I'm totally out of luck?
(Which, FYI Apple, is utter horse **** and is absolutely counter-productive to the notion of encouraging me to pay for digital entertainment.)
    What are your thoughts, folks?

If your HDTV is HDCP compliant, you probably will have no problems. But you might want to read this information which while written a while back still, to the best of my knowledge, applies:
    http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/16488
HDCP compliance is, from what I've read, rather a "rubber ruler" so even if your TV lists as being HDCP, it might or might not work correctly with your Mac. Testing with one movie first might avoid an expensive surprise.
As to your complaint to Apple, it probably wasn't up to Apple but instead was forced on them as part of the conditions by the content owners for licensing movies and shows to the iTunes Store. But feel free to comment to Apple via their feedback pages:

While watching an iTunes movie from my Apple TV, why does my movie stop playing at the 1 hour mark?  I'm assuming I have a setting causing this to happen, but I have no idea what setting needs to be changed.  Can someone help me?

It's right at an hour (consistently), but the computer goes to sleep prior to that. It's as if iTunes goes to sleep. Also, it wasn't always this way. Originally, the movies played through without interruption. At some point, I guess a setting was changed, and now I only get an hour. Also. My energy settings are set to go to sleep at 10 minutes.

  • Is there a way for me to watch my itunes movies that are on my iphone 4S on my Nook color tablet? Could I attatch them to do this?hone 4S

    Hi,
I have an iphone 4S with movies from itunes that I have bought on it. I also have a nook color tablet 16gb. I have the nook app on my iphone also. My question is can I connect my iphone to my nook tablet to watch the itunes movies on a bigger screen, for example when I'm on a plane?  Hula and Netflix don't work without wireless or regular internet connection.
Thanks for any ideas that might be out there!

    - You have had to have turned on the FindMyiPod feature (Settings>iCloud), wifi on and Location Services on.
    - By now the battery would be fully drained.
    - The SN will only allow you to identify the iPod as your if it is recovered.
    - Apple will not help
Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
    - Report to police and change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod.

  • IPhone restarting when watching Rented iTunes movies!

As the title of the thread says, my iPhone restarts whenever I try and watch Rented iTunes movies on it.
And it is just rented movies that cause the issue, if I rip a DVD and convert to iPhone friendly it plays all the way through quite happily. But with the rented ones, they play for about 7 mins before the iphone restarts.
Has anyone else had this problem?

have you taken any troubleshooting steps? (reset, restore, resync....etc).
mine was restarting itself randomly in ANY application. even after a restore (as a new phone), it did it as i was redoing all my settings. long story short, my phone was ultimately replaced by apple.

  • Is it safe to just store my purchased iTunes movies in the iTunes cloud rather than filling up my Macbook Pros hard drive?

Is it safe to just store my purchased Itunes movies in the Itunes cloud rather than filling up the Macbook Pro's hard drive with HD content?

Not safe, no. The movie's owner can remove a movie at any time, which does happen from time to time, making it impossible to re-download later. You should always keep a backup copy of any app or content that you care about.
    Regards.

  • Purchased iTunes movies stop after 10 to 15 minutes.

Purchased iTune movies stop playing after 10 minutes and have to be restarted.

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • Purchased itunes movie stops midway through operating

I purchased a movie from the itunes store and when i play it, it will stop half way through the movie. It says its playing, not paused. I have tried to start it from different points but if i start it in the later half it forces me back to the middle and won't play any further. i have restarted and it still does not work. I bought the **** thing for $14 and can't watch it or return it. Any help?

I can transfer and see rented movies when I sync my iphone, but purchased movies don't give the option of transferring at all, even efter sync-ing multiple times. It is in the itunes library, and it's viewable through my computer, but right-clicking on the purchased movie or trying to drag and drop onto the iphone is futile =/. There doesn't appear to be anything in the user guide that mentions purchased movies specifically, but rented movies are mentioned multiple times. Do I have to assume that purchased movies are not transferrable to the iphone? If so, that would pretty much stink.
