Watching Video From Handycam Through 2010 MBP?

Just a quick one... Just wondering if I am able to watch video from HD video camera (80GB hard drive) with HDMI port through my Mac. If 'yes' do I need any additional cables, etc?, If 'no', bugger

You can connect it to a HDTV using the HDMI port but the mini display port on your MBP is an output only socket so the answer is "bugger" ...
You could Import the AVCHD file from the HandyCam into iMovie and then watch it however (usually with the USB cable they provide with the cam)
On the very latest Mac's that mini display port is now a Thunderbolt port and does support data flow in both directions.

No Wi-Fi after using Apple TV to watch video from iTunes?

After watching video from iTunes library on ATV2 , when trying to use mac afterwards wi-fi slow or stopped. I Have to unplug router to get it working again. Don't think its always being like this?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

Does anyone know how to fix this. I have tried unplugging it waiting 30secs and then plugging it back in. I have tried restarting, updating and reseting but nothing is working. It's quite frustrating!!!! Any suggestions????

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

I can only watch videos from youtube, but certain websites such as dailymotion.com , videos.sapo.pt, etc, the flash video does not load up. I´ve tried updating my video drivers, installing older versions of Adobe flash, but nothing has worked so far. Has anyone has this problem? IShould I be messing with the flash global settings?

Hi, You may want to check the system requirements for the other sites. If you can watch videos on Youtube, then you must have Flash Player Installed properly.
Sometimes certain websites don't support or are late in supporting the latest version of Flash Player (10.1.102.64), so you might want to contact the websites on that.
You can use this link for setting and see if that makes a difference. Normally you would get a popup from the website to ask for this, but that would depend on how you have the Global Settings Panels set up.

You click on the USB icon in a Finder window, and double-click the video....
Where the video is (hard drive, DVD drive, USB, network) makes no difference to OS X.
If you are having trouble making QuickTime play a particular video, it's probably because QuickTime doesn't support a lot of formats. Save yourself a lot of hassle and download the free VLC videoplayer and use that for playing your videos (whatever the format, VLC will probably play it):

Is there any way to download and watch videos from websites or email on the iPhone? When I click the link it says Safari cannot download the file. Just wondering if there is an update or application I can download.

Not currently, the videos you're trying to watch are most likely flash and the safari browser for the iPhone just doesn't support it.... Its possible that its not flash and the video just happens to be a codec that the phone doesn't recognize. But so far, the only video from websites that ever worked on the iPhone we're quicktime videos. Lol no surprise there.

i can not watch videos while at home and connected to wi-fi. when i touch the video i want to watch a screen comes up with a play symbol with a line through it. i can disconnect from the wi-fi and go to 3g and the video will play. this is happening when i go to safari and try to watch a online video.

I've got a similar (but different!) problem: I have a MacBookPro3,1 running Mac OS X 10.6.8. I want to connect to my HD TV using a HDMI to DVI cable but the MBP cannot detect the TV display. The lead apparently works with all ipod touch and iPhone 4, and all software updated, but I can not change my video settings to play through the tv as I don't have the option to change to tv out.

Every where I look for info it says I need to change my options to video out on my iPod settings, but it's not an option available. All I get on my tv is a plain screen as if nothing is connected.

Mirroring (Mac Pro to TV) Watching videos from websites looks terrible

Hello! We are trying to use Apple TV to cut out cable, which is easier said than done at this point! One thing we are trying to do is watch content from CBS.com or Hulu.com (show that can only be streamed on a computer) on our TV through mirroring. For one thing the image looks terrible. It was very pixilated, delayed, and stuttery. We are hitting about a 15 Mbps download speed. We are considering returning the system if this doesn't work. Does anyone know any way to make it look better?
