Watching video on iPad 2 needs the computer on?

Hi,
One of the reasons I bought the iPad2 is to be able to watch home music videos that I do. At first I was able to do this till the upgrade to iOS5 when I can no longer watch on my iPad2 with the computer off. Is there a way around this?

Thanks for responding so quickly. Yes, I synced the videos to my iPad just like the first time when I got my iPad the first time. I'm playing them as I played them before just by going to videos and choosing whichever video I wanted to watch. Now I have to use home sharing to be able to watch on my iPad. Again, I was able to sync these videos before upgrading to iOS5 and had no problems.

There are some Apps you can use, but be careful they will only download these videos inside the App, so you won't ba able to play them in your video app or share them.
Most popular is the app called "Video Download" but there are a lot of alternatives for free and even with more quality which you can pay for.

I have Snow Leopard on two computers and IOS5 on IPad 2. Videos will not run without stopping. I am talking about videos like on Yahoo and YouTube etc.

Slow Internet download speeds are typically responsbile, if you have 5 Mb/s or slower it's really bad. 10 Mb/s or higher is preferred and 20 Mb/s or better is ideal.
If you use a alternate DNS service like GoolgeDND or OpenDNS which has to fetch Akami hosted content from overseas instead of using your much closer ISP servers.
If your router is the old G model, upgrade to N.
If your wifi is open, you could have leechers. The more on the network, even a fast one, the slower it gets.

What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?
What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the PC?

What do I need the Computer certificate for in an Active Directory domain? Theoretical Inquiry

So we are trying to clean up the thousands of certificate we have deployed. We are on a 2008 R2 Active Directory and have been using certs for about a decade. With all of our machines auto enrolling in Computer certificates and renewing every
year we have maybe 50,000 certificates, yes some are expired already but its a nightmare to manage. So what do we need the Computer certificate on all the Windows machines for anyway, some are XP most are Windows 7.
Is the Computer certificate required for Kerberos authentication?
If we don't need it I rather stop publishing the Computer template and simplify our lives.
Please explain (I am not new to PKI, though this question may make me seem like a novice) I get the Web Certs, EFS, etc.

Computer certificates are not needed for Kerberos authentication.
They are typically used for 802.1x WLAN or wired authentication, or they might be used for VPN logon. Then you might used them for IPsec / "domain isolation" or perhaps DirectAccess or related solutions by other vendors.
So they are needed for some sort of "network isolation" but they are not required for default AD operations. With some the mentioned scenarios (e.g. 802.1x / IPsec) you have the choice to pick either certificates or other credentials.

Have ylu tried the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

I had a similar/same problem - when I deleted the video locally, it did not appear as a Cloud video.
To solve this, I deleted it locally, signed out of iCloud, powered of the iPad, powered back on, opened videos (empty), signed back into iCloud.
Now all my videos are present in the cloud, and none locally.
Not a great UX though

After upgrading to 8.0 everytime I start my computer a window pops up saying Firefox needs the computer to be restarted. I've done it - it still pops up.

I have Win Vista. After I upgraded Firefox to 8.0 a window is popping up and continually saying Firefox needs the computer to restart to finalize installation. I've done the restart when prompted - the next time I start up the computer it does it again, same message.

Just went down this road. Bought two new iPhones last week, one is having this same problem. No help from the store, no help from apple. Re-setting, re-booting, updating, all did nothing. Time to move away from apple. When you have to go through as much as we did to try to solve such a very simple issue, after paying so much money, it's definitely time to try a different product. Apple charges a fortune, yet they provide the same ridiculous service as everyone else. Why get hosed?
