Watching video shot on an iphone on computer

Is there any way to watch a video that was shot on an iphone 3gs on your computer? If so, how is it done and is there any way to watch it in slow motion? The reason Im asking is Im wanting to tape a golf swing and was wondering if there was a way to watch it in slow motion. Thanks in advance for your help.

download the video into iphoto just like you would your photos. then open imovie, import the video clip and you should be able to slow it down in that.

I don't know if there is an app, but you can take a snapshot of the video.  I do this all the time.   You just need to hold down the power and home key once and it will take a snapshot.

  • Compare: video shot with an iPhone to that shot with an iPad?

Has anyone compared video shot with an iPhone to that shot with an iPad Touch, and edited on an iPad with iMovie?
What was the results?  Is the iPhones camera significantly better than an iPod Touch for video?
    Thanks,
    Hal

Yes. The iPhone camera is superior.

what is the best FC Pro Easy Set up for video shot with an iPhone 4?

There isn't one. You have to convert the media to one of the ProRes codecs, probably ProRes LT would work best. You need to do this in Compressor.
Easy setup isn't relevant as it's options are for tape based media, which this isn't.

  • Trouble watching videos shot with iPhone 4s

I'm having trouble watching videos I have made with my iPhone 4S. I have the newest Apple TV and when I try to watch  a video it takes forever to get started. a 25 second video buffers for almost  one minute before playing, a video that is 1 min. 30 sec. takes a very long time to play. I can stream you tube and other videos with minimal buffering before play.
    anyone else having this problem?

I don't have the 4s , but I believe you can shoot in 720p which will allow it to play much quicker on the Apple TV, but will be of lower quality on higher spec devices such as your computer. The other alternative is to transfer it to a computer and convert it and put the export into iTunes (keep 2 copies, so to speak)

If it wasn't backed up, it's gone.

How do u watch videos on your windows7 computer from your apple iPhone 4??

  • How do I transfer video shot on my iPhone 5s to iMac

    Hi all,
Yes, I can see this was asked and answered but I cannot get there. For some reason, the support site is so slow and the linked to that question asked last year will not appear.
So -- I just bought an iphone 5s. Just shot a quick video and wanted to move it off the phone to my imac. (Would like to keep space freed up since I bought the 16GB version.)
Will need to move photos off as well.
I did USB the phone to my iMac. Then I opened iTunes manually (it isn't opening automatically). I believe what I'm supposed to be able to do is drag stuff off my phone into iTunes--then onto Mac???
But cannot see any photos or the video I shot on the iPhone.
Any help is greatly appreciated. This is frustrating.

Photos and videos are not improted into iTunes - they go to iPhoto:  See this:

  • Videos shot on my iPhone 3GS aren't getting imported into iPhoto

Videos I've shot on my iPhone 3GS aren't importing into iPhoto - but the photos are. Noticed this a few weeks ago, believe it occurred as a result of my migration from my old MBP to my new one in mid Jan of this year. Did a rebuild of iPhoto, killed the iPod Photo Cache, to no avail. I had been noticing an issue during the sync process, toward the end, I'd get some message that the "iPhone file 'iPhone' can't be found. Googled and saw that I should kill the iPod Photo cache and turn off "manually manage music and videos." This fixed the "file iPhone not found" issue. I killed all the photos and videos in my camera roll (none show up when I select iPhone in the iPhoto window - so a remaining corrupted photo isn't the issue) and then took a photo and video. The photo imports but not the video. Ideas?
Also, another question, If I go back to manually managing music and videos, then go back to the iPhoto tab in iTunes and select which albums from iPhoto to sync back to my iPhone, is it possible to sync videos (originally shot on my iPhone) back to my iPhone? I want to create an album in iPhoto titled "iPhone Videos."

Thanks for your reply, Graham. I actually solved it last night after 3 hours of fiddling with it. Cleared the photos out of my iPhone, cleaned up and reorganized my photos in iPhoto (deleted & recreated albums), deselected and reselected "manually manage music and videos" in iTunes, deleted iPod Photo Cache (again), rebuilt my iPhoto database and something out of this mix worked.
Something interesting happened when I opened iTunes (w/ iPhone docked) - it asked me to select my photo library (or something to that effect). When I selected "iPhoto Library" it gave me a dialog box saying this isn't the the library that was being synced (not the exact words, but close). I went ahead with it. The weird thing is that the library I selected is my only one - the one I've always used, so not sure what's up with that. Anyway, something worked. Photos and videos are all in the right place. Videos are also now syncing to iPhoto from my iPhone.

  • Video shot on my iPhone 5S produces error -2048 indicating that .MOV is not recognized by Quicktime

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 4 (16G) to an iPhone 5S (16G); my wife from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5C - videos from either phone will not play in QuickTime v7.7.4 (running Windows7). I have downgraded to an earlier QT version 7.6 to no avail. I have reinstalled QT 7.7.4 and continue to get the message 2048 from Quicktime it is not a file that QuickTime understands; I can play the videos previously shot on the iPhone 4 units. I've also tried to open with other video players (Windows Media Play, VLC) with no luck.  Anyone else out there overcome this challenge?
    Thanks!

    Hi!
I got a video share on my mail. It was an .mov attachment. Video shot on iPhone 5. when i try to play that video using quick time i get a pop up message saying
The document “IMG_0110.MOV” could not be opened. The movie's file format isn't recognized.
If i opt for "tell me more" i get to see a screen showing what all formats are supported by quick time player. It says quick time supports .mov formats.
    Please help.
Try downloading the free VCL Player from here
    http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html
And see if that will play it. It plays a lot of formats that Quicktime will not recognize.

  • How can I burn a video shot with an iPhone 4 to a CD so a Windows user can watch it?

I shot a short video with my AT&T iPhone 4 and it's stored in iPhoto 9.1.5 on my iMac running OS X 10.6.8. What do I need to do in order to burn it to a CD so I can give it to a Windows user so he can view the video on his PC running Vista? I'm not sure about the video file format needed for Windows to play the video. Thanks for any help you can provide. I know this is likely a very basic question, but nothing I've tried seems to work. Any suggestions or links to resources that can answer this question will be deeply appreciated.

You should be able to connect to their computer via your USB cable, copy the video over using Windows Explorer and the PC should be able to view it without any conversion.
When you do this, make sure they don't have iTunes set to automatically open and automatically sync when an iOS device is connected.

  • Watching video on iPad 2 needs the computer on?

    Hi,
One of the reasons I bought the iPad2 is to be able to watch home music videos that I do. At first I was able to do this till the upgrade to iOS5 when I can no longer watch on my iPad2 with the computer off. Is there a way around this?
    Thanks,
    Atyclk5

Thanks for responding so quickly. Yes, I synced the videos to my iPad just like the first time when I got my iPad the first time. I'm playing them as I played them before just by going to videos and choosing whichever video I wanted to watch. Now I have to use home sharing to be able to watch on my iPad.  Again, I was able to sync these videos before upgrading to iOS5 and had no problems.

  • IMovie doesn't import video shot on my iPhone 4s

I shot some video clips of my daughter's volleyball match today and now I want to edit and share it with iMovie 11. However, I cannot import it into imovie at all. I imported all the clips into iPhoto with a sync as usual, and there they sit. I can view them in iPhoto, but When I open iMovie they don't show up in the iphoto library for selection to import. I need to be able to put all the clips together into one "movie" and I assumed that iMovie would be the way to do that. I am getting the impression that the iPhone is not compatible with iMovie. Seriously??? Can someone please help me get these clips into iMovie so I can share them with the rest of the team? Not very seamless if you ask me. This is all with iLife 11 on my Macbook Pro running Lion with all the latest.

Are your movies still on your iPhone, or did you erase them? If they are still on your phone, you can attach your phone, and in iMovie use FILE/IMPORT FROM CAMERA.
If they are in iPhoto, there should be an Event in your iMovie Event Library called iPhoto Movies. They should be in there. If they are not, you might try trashing preferences (com.Apple.iApps.plist) as mentioned here. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4061
Also, you can always make a copy of the movie in iPhoto. Right click on the movie in iPhoto and select "Revel in Finder". Copy the clip and then paste it in a folder temporarily where you can find it. Then use FILE/IMPORT MOVIE to import it to iMovie.

  • HT3775 video shot in my iphone not uploading like other video s are from iphone , to iphoto, to drop box

a few of my iphone videos not uploading into drop box, but others did??

Everything you've mentioned points to an issue with the home Wi-Fi.
Try forgetting the connection in Settings > Wi-Fi.
Restart the device and then connect to the Wi-Fi.

  • HT3775 I can not open video shot from my Iphone on my MacBook Pro?

What download would I need to open video from Iphone?

Connect your iPhone to your Mac with the supplied cable and either import it to iPhoto or Image Capture. You can play it from there.
