you can't turn backlight off during watching video. it's factory setting on hardware. even you can't alter that setting from dignostic mode, too.

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

If this does not fix the issue, you may need to reinstall Adobe Flash Player on your computer.

  • Still can't watch videos with flash

I am a firefox user. In some sites, the videos require flash and windows media. I have both installed . but, there are still some videos I can't view and  when I ask the site to test what software is missing, it says that I do NOT have the flash installed...
Last time it did work, I enabled/disabled some plugins, and then it suddenly did work - I just don't rememeber what exactly I did ... and it doesn't seem to work now.
    HELP!!! thanks.

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox 13 are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.
In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:
[[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems]]
    [[Flash 11.3 crashes]]

If you've already tried all this, I'd suggest the following:
    Install Firefox 14.0.1.
Update your graphics driver and Windows. [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
    Then test again.

  • Youtube html5 video stops loading at one point when watching video with 720p

when i change 360p to 720p its pretty often when Dube stops loading video, in the middle or near the end, its random, but i notice it when video stops playing like when u pause it & sometimes i need to reload page 2-4times before i can finish watching, & sometimes the 3th or 4th time is not reloading its closing Dube & reopening it & then from history selecting that video again
    1. do a lot of people have that issue?
    2. do i half to W8 until HTM5 creators fix the issue?
    3. or can it be fixed by user who is not advanced user?
    4. if yes then how it can be fixed?
    5. or is it Firefox Problem or bug?

  • Watching Video with Safari

Safari seems to stall after I've watched a couple videos from the same site (e.g., www.TED.com).  Reloading Safari works for a few more viewings.  Any suggestions?

    Updating the software may help.
Click Safari menu in the menubar and from the dropdown select Empty Cache.
Wait cursor  may or may not appear for for few seconds.
    Best.

  • Help watching videos with Orb.

I have Orb running on my PC and streaming video to my iPhone wirelessly.
It cannot keep up with the stream. Anybody know of a good way to let it stream while you do something else, surf other sites, etc.

Unfortunately, the current version of Windows Media Player isn't fully support for Tiger 10.4.6 (or, Intel Macs). The actual player works fine, but the plugin doesn't work. You can get the plugin to work (slowly, yet effectively) if you open your web browser with the "Open using Rosetta" checked found under "Get Info" of the web browser.
    Hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Flash player won't load,ergo can't watch videos with Firefox.Any suggestions?

  • Watching video with lid closed

Is it possible to close the lid and have the DVD playing continue when theto the mini DVI port is connected to an external display device??
    Thanks
    Lewis

Short answer is no, the reason is that the iBook vents out the kerboard and if you run it with the top closed it will overheat.
long answer is yes, you can run it with the lid closed, it would probably void warranty, but its possible. I run linux in my iBook and it lets me run with the lid closed, and there is some hack for mac that lets you do the same, I don't remember what it is called, but being a long answer you can probably find it on google.

  • Why when I watch videos with my ipad mini it is blur?

Pls help, I did compare it with a another's ipad mini . I will give you points if u help me solve this   .

if you both sharing the same iphone hotspot then I am 99.9% sure that your issue was bandwidth your friends one may have streamed  better cause he was probably taking up most of what bandwidth there was and also on mobile phone bandwidth is affected by signal, I know when streaming on my iphone5 (as a hotspot) if I have 4G LTE streaming is mucher smoother than if I have 1 bar of 3G.

  • I can't watch videos on Youtube in HD ever since that mess with HTML5 last month.

So in February there was a brief stint where Youtube decided to force everyone to watch videos only with the HTML5 player, which forced many Firefox users to watch videos with only 360p and 720p as resolution options, and even at 720p the video was blurry and playback was choppy. I tried using a couple different add-ons people made to force Youtube to use Flash Player again, but the video quality was even worse than on the HTML5 player so I removed them. And now, even after Youtube allowed Flash Player to be used again, ever since that mess happened it's affected the videos I watch. Now I can't watch videos in any real high definition, because on any resolution option the videos become "fuzzy." The edges of people, text, and objects are pixelated and either blurry or jagged and not crisp and sharp as they should be. I also have problems with "rippling," where it seems as if thin, vertical lines are moving on the screen and subtly distorting the video. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flash Player, Firefox is on the current version, and everything else on my system that I know of is up to date. I have also tried watching videos in safe mode. Nothing changes. I can't get the videos to look normal again. For almost the past month I've had to start using Chrome specifically just for Youtube because nothing I do will get it to work properly again on Firefox.

    Hello,

  • Hiss with 5G when using SoundDock or similar ONLY when Backlight OFF

I've found this problem on two 30gig 5G iPods and I think it may be present on all.
    -If battery is full (completely)
    -If backlight is OFF
-iPod connected to a set of speakers via dock connecter AND the speakers control the volume, not the wheel on the iPod
Then, in quiet sections of music there is a noticable hiss from the speakers. This disappears as soon as the backlight goes on. Also not present if the iPod is charging (rather than charged already).
It happens on my Bose SoundDock and Belkin Auto Kit.
Also tried it on Kensington SX 2000 in an Apple Store - Same problem.
As a consequence the Apple store replaced my iPod. Now I've worked out about the battery, I think it is prenent on all 5G iPods, as it started on the replacement iPod as soon as it was fully charged.
    Thoughts.....
    AMD-PC   Windows XP Pro

    Hmmm, interesting thought Jon,
In my case it would be 50Hz Hum as I'm on the other side on the Atlantic.
Would you get such interference in a car though? I get the same problem with my Belkin Auto kit. This is basically a cig power adaptor with a small preamp in it. It connects to the dock connector and takes the line level audio, and preamps it and sends it to a 3.5mm jack that you connect your audio tape adaptor to. Same issue - hum/hiss with backlight OFF only when unit fully charged.
I've just taken to leaving my iPod not to turn off the screen, as I most use it powered.
Submitted the feedback as you suggested.
