they same issue has happened with me too. while using camera of my z1,the phone got hot and restarted. so i let it under tap water. next thing i knew screen backlight started flickering. the front screen panel got buldged out. clearly showing that it was not properly sealed. this is my refubrished set that i recieved 2 months ago. camera lens started showing water vapours on it.the backlight of phone not working now.
i contacted sony care and told everything. but they showed me that water has logged inside as red indicators under flap were triggered.
i told them that i know and admitting that water has logged inside my z1.i told them water may have entered from front panel of phone not from flaps, as i am carefull.
they told me that its past 6 months and now they can't help me. if i want to get phone replaced i have to pay 50%-80% of MRP.
i told them that this is not fair.
now plz help me guys and tell me what should i do . should i take legal actions against them?
tnx sachin

  • !help!water got in clickwheel stoped working!help!

my friend was using my ipod and some soda got spilled on it so i wiped it down with a wet cloth and now my clickwheel wont work someone help

Sorry to say, but your iPod is probably not going to survive.
If soda got inside, if/when it dries out there will probably be some pretty messy deposits of sugar and residue left on components of the iPod. Not good.
If you're lucky, and only water got inside, you might have a little more hope.
Leave the iPod alone... turned off... for a while. At least a week.
DON'T TOUCH IT OR CONNECT IT TO A COMPUTER.
Leave it alone and let it dry out by itself.
If, after a week or so, you think it's fully dried out, then try turning it on. Hopefully you'll get lucky.
If the battery is dead.. try charging it with an AC adapter. I wouldn't risk charging it with the computer after this. Something might short out and possibly damage your USB port on the computer.
I realize that my advice leans more towards the overly cautious side.

Place the iPod in a sealed container with a desiccant for a week. Uncooked rice works. Change the desiccant every day or so for a week.
Do not charge or turn on the iPod until dry. Then try:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

What you should have done is immediately turn the phone off, then put it in a ziploc bag of dried rice after you wiped all visible moisture off the phone. Leave it in the ziploc bag for 3 ~ 4 days, then turn it on & hope things work OK. It may be too late to try the dry rice trick now, but you can give it a shot if you like.
Apple does have an out of warranty replacement program, cost in the US is $199 for the 4S & $149 for other models.

  • My phone won't turn on. I have tried the Power button   home button several times and even held it for over 3 minutes.. When I plug it in it still won't respond to itunes PLEASE HELP!! A little water got in it but it was like a drop or two..

My Iphone 4g, won't turn on, I have tried the power button + home button several times and held them for over 3 minutes. It won't even respond to Itunes and I can't restore it because of that. A little water got into it before it completely shut off but it was like little drops.. Please HELPP.
I also have tried  to put it in rice and left it there for 9 hours and it still doesn't work

A drop or two of water may have been enough to cook it. If it was bad enough to prompt you to put it in a bag of rice, then I'd venture to guess it was more than a drop or two.
Try putting it back in the bag of rice and leave it there for several days.
If that doesn't fix it, then you're more than likely looking at paying for an out of warranty replacement.

  • I dropped my iphone and when i picked it up it was working but as soon i got inside the house and turned it on, the screens lights up black then it goes completely white

he;lpp!! i dropped my iphone and face down on the screen andwhen i picked it up it was working and everything , when i got inside the house and checked it the screen goes black then it goes white and stays then shuts off and the same thing happens when you push the home button, plus im still able to recieve and get text messages i just cant see cause the screen.... help me like NOW !!!!!!!! haha i really dont wanna take it to a shop and pay money !!

You can try resetting it: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). If you are able to see the Apple, then the reset is in progress, and the Home screen will display shortly.
If you are not able to see the Apple, then you are going to need to make a trip to the Apple Store.

  • Some water got into my iPhone4 and now the home button is having issues. Is there a fix for this?

As the title says, my home button is having issues that started after some water got into my iPhone4. It takes about twenty attempts before it will register that I hit the home button. It is not under warranty anymore. Any help or suggestions on how to fix the problem would be appreciated. Thanks

Take to Apple and have then check.
If it is damage you will be charged for the replacement since the warranty does not cover damage.

  • Water got on screen, now ipad won't even turn on, is this fixable and at approximately what cost?

Water got onto screen of ipad, now won't even turn on. Is this fixable and at approximately what cost?

Apple does not repair iPads, but will replace the entire iPad for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/service/faq/
There are independent iPad repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipad repair".

If it's that important to you, then you should take better care of it and not allow water to get inside of it.
    Just sayin'.

  • I think an insect got inside my Mac...

I need some assistance with the following issue. Just moments ago a flying insect got close to my Mac and I tried to scare it away by swinging my hands near to it and blowing it. The insect went away however, I think that he may have gone inside my MacBook Pro through the ventilation entrances in the hinge of the monitor. I know it's a low posibility, but what are the chances of this particular insect creating problems on my Mac by it being able to enter the computer and creating problems by messing the components?
Thanks for any assistance on this matter (serious answers please).

That will make this more difficult, I'll post back.
    I'll be serious now
I don't think that an insect that may have penetrated your Mac should be a great concern, the environment in there is hostile, he'll probably leave, or he will die first. and leave a small mess somewhere inside. You chance causing damage trying to get him out. Don't lose sleep over it. Probably not in there anyhow.

  • Water got into screen!

I have a White 13" Macbook and I cleaned my screen with a damp paper towel and wiped it off. When I turned it on, there was a big blotch of water inside the bottom left part of the screen. I now have it turned off with the screen open to see if it will go away. If it doesn't go away, how much will it cost to send it to Apple to repair it?

I called an Apple retail store, and they told me to turn the power off, leave the screen open, and dry it for a couple of days. Most of the water dried out, and now its just a couple of small dots instead of a big blotch.
