[waterfox] Using default profile. No reset button in Troubleshooting info page.

SIDE QUESTION:
Would having a thousand bookmarks affect firefox performance?
Would an addon prevent the reset button from appearing? (tried disabling(the blocking, not the addon) the most likely culprit, adblock edge, nothing) safe mode seems to "disable" the troubleshooting page for some reason so couldn't really use that to test it.
I would have posted these at the bottom but i noticed secondary questions tend to get ignored. or at least the way i say them gets them ignored, so here they are.
As the title says.
I'm using only one profile and it's the default(not just its name, it's also set as default according to the profile.ini ).
according to
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Troubleshooting_Information_page#Reset_Firefox_to_its_default_state
The only factor the would prevent it from appearing is if I'm not using the default profile, which Is what I am currently using, and it's the only profile I have.
So... what could be preventing it from appearing?

o_o
that... doesn't actually answer the question... but you have a point. I guess that'll do as a solution. I'll mark this as resolved as soon as I try it out. Thanks.
though i'd like to report this missing button thing to the waterfox guys, i'm kinda reluctant to sign up to a forum(overclock.net as their website says) i'd use like, once-- and never look back into again, which is why I asked here. I don't remember where, but I heard Waterfox is the "de facto" 64 bit firefox.
unless i'm misunderstanding it as "official" and Nightly instead, is the "official" build with here as it's main support area?
EDIT: OK. it worked. also, the button STILL doesn't appear. not that i'm pushing that issue at this point.
So one final question before closing this: would lots of bookmarks impact firefox performance in any way? or is it addons alone that will slow firefox? I don't want to "reset" often(not that it's hard to do, just can't imagine anyone wanting to reset their browser every month or so regardless of method.)

  • Firefox freezes when opened on secondary monitor using default profile. Other profile okay.

    Windows 7. Firefox 28.0. Hardware acceleration is off in both profiles.
    Default profile behaves normally in the primary monitor (I have two monitors). When I open the default in the secondary monitor, it appears to be at maximize size but only the top bar of the screen is visible. If I shrink it, it locks up, but I can slide it over to the primary monitor where it then works normally.
    If I open it in the primary monitor then move it to the secondary, it shows in a less than full screen. When I maximize it, a duplicate screen partially opens and both freeze, and menus freeze when I open them. I can slide it back to the primary where it works normally.
    My other profile is an old one with all the bookmarks, settings and history. It works fine on both monitors.

  • Weirdness when trying to use javascript to submit a button on a jsf page

    code in question:
    document.forms['logoutForm'].elements['logoutForm:_id7'].click();
    alert("button clicked");
    This works fine as is, the form gets submitted. I have to use this because there are multiple submits in this form for different things. Edit: What I mean is that I am submitting if the user presses the enter key from a text input and since I have multiple submits, I have to choose a particular one, I can't just use the form.submit() function.
    The problem arises if I take out the alert. No alert box, it stops working - no submit. Alert popup included, I get the popup, but the page submits correctly AFTER I close the popup, even though the alert is after the submit in the code.
    Anyone know what gives and how I can get the submit to work without the alert?

    It appears that this might be an IE issue as it works in Firefox. Any thoughts?

    This reply skirts around your actual question, but perhaps it may be useful for your situation. This link describes a JSF component that allows you to define the default action for your page, that is, the one that gets submitted when the Enter key is pressed:
    http://www.jsftutorials.net/defaultActionTag.html
    Note that you will see some warnings flash across the console when this component loads on the page (if you're monitoring that). As I understand it, this is because no renderer is specifically assigned for this component. Your default renderer will kindly do the job, but you'll still see the warning in development. It's nothing to worry about.

  • The "Reset Firefox" button is missing from the Troubleshooting Information page in Waterfox v. 26.0.

    Upon opening Waterfox I see a message at the bottom of the screen indicating that Waterfox is slow in opening. When I follow the link to find a fix for it, I get the page instructing me on how to reset the programme via the Troubleshooting Information page. However, the "Reset Firefox" button shown in the example is missing from the page in Waterfox.

    You only see the reset button on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page if you use the profile that is marked as Default=1 in the profiles.ini file.
    If you do not have the "Reset" button then either use the Profile Manager to create a new profile or use the Profile Manager to start with the current default profile to get the reset button in Firefox.

  • Reset Button - How to change the defaults?

    Is there any way to change the Lightroom defaults for the Reset Button?
    I already know about Custom Presets. I just think it would be faster if the defaults for the Reset Button could be changed.

    Unless we are talking about a different reset button the reset button should
    return the picture to the way it was shot by the camera with not editing of
    any kind. If a user could go in and change this so that it reset the image
    to something other than the original image as it was shot by the camera then
    it would not be a reset button any longer. It would be a quick apply preset
    button and NOT what it was designed and placed in the program for.
    If you want one button access to set defaults of your choice that is called
    a preset. That is what they are for.

  • Using ADF resetButton to reset a selectOneChoice

    Hi all,
    I have an issue resetting the content of a page. Here's a simplified example:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/EA13/html" prefix="ah"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/EA13" prefix="af"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" prefix="f" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h" %>
    <f:view>
    <ah:html>
    <ah:head/>
    <ah:body>
    <af:form id="form">
         <af:messages/>
    <af:selectOneChoice id="city" label="City" value="#{controller.city}" autoSubmit="true"               valueChangeListener="#{controller.synchToCity}" immediate="true">
    <f:selectItems value="#{controller.list1}"/>
    </af:selectOneChoice>
    <af:selectOneChoice id="street" label="Street" value="#{controller.street}" partialTriggers="city">
    <f:selectItems value="#{controller.list2}"/>
    </af:selectOneChoice>
    <af:inputText id="firstName" value="#{controller.firstName}" binding="#{controller.first}"/>
    <af:inputText id="lastName" value="#{controller.lastName}" binding="#{controller.last}"/>
    <af:resetButton text="Reset" />
    </af:form>
    </ah:body>
    </ah:html>
    </f:view>
    initial Context: the city dropdown contain a list of cities and street dropdown doesn't contain anything.
    Other information:Once you choose a city, it populate the street dropdown with the proper set of streets. To create that synchronization, I use:
    * autoSubmit=true + valueChangeListener + immediate=true on the city dropdown
    * partialTriggers=cityDropDownId
    Expected behavior: I want to be able to reset the whole page to the initial context.
    Obtained results: The input fields are reset properly (because I use a context.renderResponse in the method that handle the valueChangeEvent) but the lists are not reset to their original values (city = the first item in its list and an empty collection for street).
    Note:This work pretty well when there's no autoSubmit...
    is it possible to produce such a reset? does it have something to do with the state of the component (is it possible that the State is saved when we skip the rest of the lifecycle using immediate=true + context.renderResponse?)
    thanks in advance for any help!

    Let's rephrase the problem:
    I have did some more investigation and I found that when I don't use autoSubmit=true, the reset button works just fine.
    But when I use an autoSubmit=true, the component that change it's value won't be reset to it's prior state even if I'm using immediate=true and skip the "Update Model Values" phase.
    My guess is that the State of the component is updated and I'm looking for a way to avoid or bypass that.
    Thanks!

  • Mapping Default Profiles of PT groups and folders for automating subportal experience

    I need to automate the subportal experience by adding the users to the folders. These folders will correspond to the Plumtree groups that we create.
    We are already planning on automating the maintainence of these PT groups by authentication source by applying custom business logic in Java program. I believe I can do the folder maintainence in the same program as well. However to make iot more effeicient and maintainable, I have the following questions.
    Is there a way to map the PT groups to the folders by using Default profiles(by auth source?)? I think this would help me avoid hard coding which users belonging to certain groups go in which folders. Is there another better approach? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Thanks a lot for you reply Mark. I tried to add the Plumtree only groups to the Auth source and I am not allowed. It seems like this works only for the Auth Sorce(NTLM, AD etc.) groups not Plumtree only groups. Is there a way to do this kind of mapping for Plumtree only groups (to avoid doing this programmatically)?
    Regards

    ------- Mark Dimas wrote on 1/28/05 10:41 AM -------
    You can have users placed directly in folders based off of group membership by using the Partial Users Synchronization mode.
    On the auth source select Partial Users Synchronization and run a synch job. This will import all the groups. Then go back to the auth source, on the first page under Default Profiles add the groups, and for each group you can select the destination folder for members of that group. Then, on the Fully Sychronized Groups page you can add all the groups you want to import members from. Run the job again and all the users that are members of the selected groups will be imported and placed in the correct folder.

  • Only the default profile and still cannot reset browser

    I am running the new Windows 8.1 and just re-installed Waterfox 27. The browser keeps informing me that it is running slowly. The links send me to nowhere because my profile apparently doesn't show the reset button in Help / troubleshooting. The only profile I can locate indicates it is the default profile. This profile only has an alpha-numeric name that was self generated at some point.
    I was using Waterfox on a previous Laptop using Win7x64 Ultimate I owned, it has sense died. This new Lenovo unit was installed with Windows 8, I allowed the upgrade to 8.1.Operates with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4200U CPU @ 1600GHz 2.30GHz, 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor.
    Waterfox has installed itself in the "C:\Program Files\Waterfox\waterfox.exe" folders. I have done an un-install, a reinstall, of your browser.

    Try to use the Profile Manager to start Firefox/Waterfox with this default profile.<br />
    You only see the Reset button if Firefox is started with the profile that is marked as Default=1 in the profiles.ini file.

  • Cursor becomes invisible in JTextField after using default button

    In my application there is an update screen (JPanel). I am using default button in that panel. The input field is a normal JTextField. When the update is over the cursor goes back to the input JTextField.
         Now my problem is that when I carry out update with mouse, the cursor is correctly placed into the input JTextField and is visible after the update is over. On the other hand, if I carry out the same update operation using default button (using keyboard), the cursor gets placed correctly in the input JTextfield column, but becomes invisible. If I minimize and then again maximize the window, the cursor appears back. What am I missing ? Note that I am using component.requestFocusInWindow() to get focus back to the input JTextField.

  • Windows 2012 RDP "resets" user settings while using Roaming Profiles

    Last month we installed a RDP environment running a Windows 2012 DC and 2 Windows 2012 RDP servers. The RDP servers are running in a pool.
    For the rest it's nothing fancy.
    The problem is that user-settings are reset, most likely during logon. This only occurs when we use Roaming Profiles.
    - We create a new user, in a container with no GPO's attached.
    - This user gets a RP while logging on, no errors, at logoff the RP is written to it's correct folder.
    - Logging on again. Now for example I make Chrome standard browser and change the program which opens JPG files.
    - Logging off
    - I check the NTUSER.DAT in the RP folder and the changes I made can be found in the file. So it has been saved to the NTUSER.DAT.
    - Now I login again and check the settings I made. IE is standard browser again and the JPG setting is also back to standard.
    - Logging off
    - Checking the NTUSER.DAT in the RP folder and yes, everything is back to default.
    Now the funny part is, when I create a user with a local profile, everything is working properly. Settings been saved.
    It doesn't make a different what kind of user it is. Domain User, Domain Admin. They all have the same problems when using RP's.
    No error messages in the Event Viewer.
    I'm clearly unable to solve this problem. Hoping someone can help me on this one.
    What makes the settings reset at logon while using Roaming Profiles?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    Have you enable Cache copies option of roaming profiles?
    This issue might occurs because the User Profile service does not load the terminal server roaming profile correctly after the user account password is reset.
    When the Delete cache copies of roaming profiles Group Policy setting is enabled, and when a user is prompted to change the user account password, the User Profile service loads a local temporary user profile. The User Profile service loads this user profile
    to perform the password reset operation. However, the profile changes to a combination of the local temporary profile and of the roaming profile after the user password is reset. Therefore, the terminal server roaming profile is not loaded correctly.
    In addition, please try to delete the SID of the user from registry key and check the result. You can follow the below path.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
    More information:
    You receive a "The User Profile Service failed the logon” error message

    Also check “User Profiles on Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services” article.
    Hope it helps!

  • Server 2012 R2 VDI with profile disks not using domain default profile

    I'm testing a VDI environment running on Windows Server 2012 R2. The VMs in the pool are running Windows 7.
    I've enabled profile disks for my test pool. I also have a domain default profile (stored under netlogon) that is used when creating profiles for new users.
    I've found that when a new user logs into the VDI pool, the domain default user profile is not being used to create the new profile. Can this be changed?

    Hi,
    I also have a domain default profile (stored under netlogon) that is used when creating profiles for new users.
    Place default profile under netlogon share doesn’t enable users to use it as their default user profiles, which only shares the profile contents to users who have access permissions.
    If you want to customize default user profile, please refer to this article below:

  • Default Keyboard input change in using roaming Profile on different Win 7

    We found a strange problem on default Keyboard setting.
    We are using roaming profiles for all users.
    One of our users is using two Windows 7. One Windows 7 is VDI for working out of office and another Win 7 is her local PC.
    She is only using Two keyboard input: Chinese Traditional English and Chinese Traditional Pinyin.
    Whenever she had used the Windows 7 VDI, when she comes back to office and use her local PC, the default Keyboard input will automatically change to Chinese Traditional Pinyin.
