Watermark Lightroom 5.2

I'm unable to select the water mark on export even thought I have three watermarks set up.

I just updated to LR 5.2 and am having the same issue when trying to export using watermarks to my JPEG's.  Some will apply, others won't.  Tried deleting all my watermarks and rebuilding them, also toggling to original and then back to JPEG to see if that would reset whatever was gunked up.  Looks like a bug to me.

  • When adding a watermark, Lightroom crashes

Anytime I try to export a file and add a watermark, Lightroom crashes.  I can export without adding a watermark just fine.  Lightroom also crashes when I try to edit a current watermark - as soon as I click the drop down menu to choose which watermark to edit, down goes Lightroom.  I have both text watermarks and a small jpeg as a watermark (same thing happens with both) and I am running Lightroom 4.3.

It does sleep eventually, but not while I'm using the watermark feature? And it's not like I move the file around, it stays put. At any rate, I've moved it over to my internal hard drive to test that theory and it seems to be working thus far
As a side note, I'm wondering if it's ok that my raw files are on my internal hard drive but the catalog is on my external? When I import new images, they go to my "Pictures" folder by default but the catalog itself is located on my external. So when I back it up, it backs up to my external, which is the whole point...but since I wasn't sure if you're supposed to be referencing the files from the same place and THEN backing them up somewhere separate? Sorry if that's confusing!

  • Every time I try to upload an image to watermarks lightroom crashes

I have been trying to load an image for my watermark.  It seems any image I try to load, regardless of the type png/jpeg/, it crashes my lightroom.  I am running lightroom 5 for PC and have had all the recent updates.  Would anyone have any ideas why?

With that type of description of the problem, get set for some really funny responses.

  • Photoshop Lightroom 4.3 Watermark Error

Hi, i happen to have an issue deleting a watermark preset. Here's what happened.
I created a watermark and deleted the source file of the watermark. Sad thing is, i forgot the filename and i deleted the items in my recyclebin, giving me the disability to restore the said watermark in my folders. I even forgot where i placed the watermark (too bad of me).
After deleting the original file, everytime i try to select the said watermark, lightroom crashes. I could not even get to the point where I could click on the dropdown to delete the said watermark. I though found a work-around and created a new watermark. But if you are a person like me, I really hate seeing "unusable" things inside my computer.
Do you guys have a work-around how to delete manually the graphical watermark preset either through an easy way, or the manual way? I badly need it.
Note: I already tried installing and uninstalling Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.3 and still unable to delete the said watermark. (I bet my only option is to reformat my computer, which is something I honestly do not want to do.)
Thanks a bunch for the big help in advance!

    If this doesn't work:
In your OS (Win Explorer / Mac Finder) go into the folder where your watermarks are stored.
Create a copy of one of the watermark prests that is working and rename it with the name of the deleted watermark. The name has to be exact as shown in Lr Watermarks Editor.
The contents of this watermark preset is not right. But that doesn't matter. All that matters is that Lr "thinks" the watermark preset still exists.
Then in the watermark editor delete this preset as described above.
    A word to the wise:
I think you have learned already that it is not very wise to just delete files for the sake of a "clean computer".
If you continue this practice you will one day delete a file that your OS needs to start up. You won't notice it until you close down and want to start up again. Then when you see the message that your OS cannot start you'll know that your idea of a "clean computer" led you into a major catastrophe.
    Been there, done that!

  • Lightroom watermarks not showing up in Windows explorer.

Quick question for everybody. I imagine there's an easy solution for it, I just haven't been able to figure it out.
The company I work for needs to manage and watermark many different types of photos (perfect for Lightroom.)  The only problem is, when Im uploading photos to our website, the Lightroom watermarks dont show up in the thumbnail preview of Windows Explorer. When I right click the image thumbnail and select "preview" the full size image preview pops up with the watermark. I guess my question is, is there any way to get the Lightroom watermarks to show up when viewing files in Explorer in large thumbnail view? It would save my a lot of time and frustration.
    Thanks ahead of time!

Im including this image in case I did a terrible job of explaining my problem.

  • How to remove watermarks from images which have been inadvertently applied via the Lightroom Export function? [was: Help!]

I put a watermark on a photo in Lightroom 5  and exported it to a file. I then had another group of images which I exported and they all had the watermark on them and I can't get rid of the watermark

Export the photos again, but in the Lightroom Export dialog box, remove the check next to Watermark

  • Lightroom 5.6 won't apply watermarks to my images when I export; Nikon D610 RAW files exporting in .jpg

I am working with .NEF files from a Nikon D610 in Lightroom 5.6.  When I go to export and choose add text watermark, the files are exported but the text watermark is not added.  Occasionally some of the images from the batch will have the watermark, but it will only be some, not all.  Anyone else run into this problem?

What is the file format you choose to export as? If it is ORIGINAL or DNG, you will not get watermarks.

  • Unable to watermark images in Lightroom CC gallery share

The Gallery share in Lightroom CC could be amazing....but it's not quite useable.
The first downside is you cannot watermark the images like you can in a lightroom website.
In gallery share the images are un watermarked. Any photographer that is selling images to clients wants the proofs to be watermarked.
Without this feature the galleries are not fit for pro use.
The second downside is the fact that when you share the gallery the client has to register with adobe to gain access and grade/make comment on the images.
Clients really want a simple username and password protected page and don't wont to register to a company.
These two simple amendments would make the software incredible rather than a damp squib.

It's difficult because neither Nokia nor third-part app producers make these things obvious to the casual observer.
There is a way to get around this, but it's long-winded:
    (1) Delete the first folder in Private
    (2) Check if the gallery is OK.
    (3) If not, restore 'user files' from your backup then delete the next folder and try again.
This will allow you to find the relevant file that is causing the issue but leave everything else intact.

  • Watermarks in Lightroom 4

Hi. I have Lightroom 4 and was able to get my text watermark to export on my photos until I changed the resolution. Now, even after changing the resolution back, it still won't export the watermark. I've tried deleting and recreating the watermark and it still won't work. I'm getting really frustrated. Can you help me? I've looked at all the settings and have marked the watermark checkbox...I really don't know what else to do.
    Thanks!
    Stephanie

You probably have to edit the watermark, and then re-export the photo.
You can edit the watermark in the Export dialog box, scroll down to Watermarking, check Watermark and then in the dropdown menu, select Edit Watermarks

  • Watermark disappears in Lightroom 5.2

I use Lightroom 5.2 to edit photos and store them in my Flickr gallery. In LR5 I use a Watermark for copyright purposes. However, the photo in Flickr shows the photo without the watermark. Flickr has a standard "Copyright" and "All Rights Reserved" policy in their website for photos that is only apparent when reading their Discussions. The watermark does appear in LR5.2 thumbnail image in the Export module, but not on the saved photo in the Mac's Pictures folder. Is this a Mac problem or Flickr problem?
Flickr seems to change their website quite frequently of late.

Have you set the copyright information in:   Library Module > Metadata before exporting from Lightroom
The copyright watermark is created far too small in Lightoom.
I burn in a text panel using annotate in Preview, which is quicker and easier.

  • I am having trouble exporting photos with a watermark in lightroom 5 with windows 8

I click export, then edit watermarks, make my adjustments, click create, then export...photo gets exported without the watermark....what am I doing wrong?

Just a couple of observations that may not be of any help to you. After you click on the export button, you won't see any activity on the Lightroom interface unless you are exploring several images in which case you will see a progress bar in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. I noticed on your export settings that you have checked the option to add the exported image to the catalog, so it isn't going to automatically show up in Lightroom. You might try right clicking on the folder you are working with and choose to synchronize it and see if that will bring in those newly exported images.

  • Digimarc watermarking as part of Lightroom Export

I would *love* to see Lightroom and Digimarc get together to create an "embed Digimarc watermark" in the Export dialog box. It would be incredibly powerful and would allow photographers to batch resize and embed the digimarc watermark in one step to a group of photographs. Even better if it could read the year of the photograph from the metadata and add that to the digimarc watermark automatically.
I know all this can be done with Photoshop actions, but going into Photoshop just to embed a watermark is murder on an efficient workflow.
    Thanks.

I think you'd have to call Exiftool in the post-processing section of the Export settings. Exiftool is an excellent third-party utility, which you can download here.
I'm on Windows, and the following procedure seems to work OK.
[That's when exporting to local disk - whereby after the export, the separate utility can be called, and is able to modify the just-saved file. I don't know for sure - but I would not expect this to work when exporting directly to a web hosted destination such as Flickr:]
Make a copy of the Exiftool.exe program file.
Rename the copy as follows: exiftool (-Keywords+=specialtag -overwrite_original).exe  - replacing "specialtag" with your desired keyword. (I didn't test for spaces in the keyword).
In the Export settings, Post-processing section, select "Open in Other Application" and click Choose.. to browse to the above renamed Exiftool executable (program) file.
Save (or update) your Export preset to include this extra step.
As each file is exported, the Exiftool command window opens, executes and closes.

  • How to remove a watermark from exported pictures in lightroom.

Hi everyone.  I accidentally deleted a collection I was working on from lightroom 4 and the files were NOT backed up. All of the photos were edited and had my watermark on them.  I exported all pictures into an album on my computer.  I thought I could import them back in and lightroom would recognize the history and I would be able to remove my watermark.  I need to create a disc for a customer and I NEED to get the watermark off.  Is there a way to some-how retrieve the deleted collection from lightroom, or remove the watermark from the re-imported pictures??

What do you mean by "deleted a collection"??
If you mean that the collection is no longer present in the Collection Panel on the left, but the photos remain cataloged in Lightroom, then you ought to be able to find these photos in the Grid View, or via any of Lightroom's search tools, and export them without a watermark.
If you mean that the collection is no longer present in the Collection Panel on the left AND the photos no longer are present in Lightroom ... then ... ooops ... your best hope is a recent backup of the catalog file. If you don't have a recent backup (why not?), then: Alternative solution: if you had written the metadata to the files (which does not happen by default), then you could re-import the photos and your edits will appear; just export them without the watermark. If you have niether a recent backup nor saved metadata to the files, then I think you would need to start from scratch, import the photos again, edit them again, and export without watermark.
Philosophical aside: if the case is that the photos are not present in Lightroom anymore, then you might want to change your workflow to always leave photos in Lightroom. But please, don't plan on re-importing photos, this is not a good practice.

  • Why doesn't Lightroom 5 always watermark exported images?

I haven't changed the settings, but last time I tried to export images with a watermark the images appeared in the output folder without watermarks.
The problem has occured before, but corrected itself when I re-exported the images. This time Lightroom is steadfastly ignoring the instruction to add a watermark.
    Any clues, why this happens?
Some of my jpegs are zero length when exported, is there a fix for this, other than to export them again?
I can fix the problem by using LR4.4, but why isn't LR5 working properly?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

Most likely you simply ise an unsupported operating system. We really can't know. You have not provided any relevant info.
