Watermark on display

My son has had his Ipod for about 3 weeks. He swears he did not get it wet but it has a watermark covering 1/3 of the screen. Kind of like an oil goo behind the display. Anybody else experience or hear of this?

No, the only time of heard of anything similar is when somebody dropped theirs in a river. :/
And Apple does not repair 'mistreated' iPods. They only repair manufacturer issues. You could try checking ipodresq.com for repair costs, if you're interested...

1. What are you opening that has the Adobe Watermark
a. a project file (project.prel file) created in the Premiere Elements 12 tryout
or
b. a file representing your Timeline exported to a file in Premiere Elements 12 tryout
2. When you open your Premiere Elements 12 from the desktop icon, are you greeting by a
Premiere Elements 12 tryout dialog that ask License this Project or Continue the Trail?
3. If you open a tryout project in the purchased Premiere Elements 12, does that Adobe Watermark ever
disappear
a. Timeline Menu/Delete Rendered Files
and/or
b. Going to the Adobe Premiere Elements Previews File Folder, looking for rendered (preview files), and
deleting them at that level
SD project DV AVI
HD project MPEG2.mpeg with a companion .xmp file
4. When you are in the opened project, if you go to Help Menu/, does it give a category for Sign In or Sign Out?

Acrobat Watermark not displaying correctly

I have had a problem that started with Acrobat 8 Professional and it is continuing in Acrobat 9 Pro, this problem did not exist for me in Acrobat 7 Professional.
I have a customer who creates documents in InDesign on a PC and converts them to PDFs with bookmarks. They send over the PDF files and we place watermarks on the appropriate pages (have tried this on both Mac and PC with the same results). The watermarks are set to only show when a page is printed, they are in the background with a 10% opacity and scaled to 75% of the page. The watermark file is a greyscale jpeg, there is no text in the watermark.
Security is also applied to the document, allowing printing, but preventing changes to the document.
The files look fine on the computers here in our building, both PC and Mac. When my client views them, the watermark is showing on all pages on screen and when they print. It should only show when printed.
The client is working in Acrobat 8. I have tried placing the watermark in their Acrobat 8 PDF using Acrobat 7, 8, and 9. I get the same results.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Any ideas where to start?

More troubleshooting information:
I tried removing the watermark in Acrobat 8, then taking the PDF into Acrobat 7 and re-applying the watermark.
The same problems were encountered.
I then removed the watermark in Acrobat 8, then in Acrobat 9 applied a Background (since in Acrobat 7 the watermark & background were one dialog, I grasped at a straw and tried this). Except for the background showing up on the thumbnails, it appears to be working correctly.
I reviewed an Acrobat 7 PDF done in 2008 to compare. In this PDF the background/watermark did not show up on the thumbnails.
I will be calling Adobe Technical Support, I will post what we find.

PDF Watermark - logo image is not displayed in ibr converted pdf

I have enabled pdf watermark administration and configured image watermark with rule, if the content type is document then the image watermark is to be applied but it is not displayed to the converted word document to pdf by IBR.
If i change image watermark layer to "over", then image watermark is displayed, but word are displayed under the logo image watermark, so it is difficult to study the document.
If the native file is pdf, then its image watermark is working fine.

I think this could be caused by the following :
Check the factor set for Transparency and if it is completely opaque (Transparency =0%) then the converted PDF's will not show watermarks which has Layer set to UNDER.
To get the watermarks displayed PPT's will need to be set to Transparency = 100% .
The intention of the UNDER watermarking layer is that it should appear"behind" whatever is in the content layer.If the content layer completely covers the page and is opaque, then nothing behind it will be visible,including watermarks.The only reasonable solution is to check the above mentioned value before submitting the PPT's for conversion so that users are aware of this behavior for PPT's
The above description if for PPT's where in this was found to be caused by the transparency factor of native PPT . If it is a word document then check for the same setting and set to 100% , then test .

Injecting a watermark on images as they are viewed

We have over 60k .tif images on a Unix server. These images are
engineering drawings from A to J size. When an image is selected via IE or
Netscape our current proprietary viewer displays the image. We need to
watermark each image when displayed or when printed. These are legacy
images and it is unrealistic to go back and tag the images in their native
format.
The use of our proprietary viewer is not mandatory, but due to our
diverse user community and the detail needed by the engineers it is a very
low cost solution, actually free at this point.
We need a viewer that, when a user requests an image, a watermark
automatically displays on the image in a predefined location, and if
printed the watermark prints also. The viewer would be on the client and
launched when the server image is requested via a web browser. We would
like the viewer to be activated by the host verses the image file type
defined by the browser. This would eliminate the watermark displaying on
other images if the client viewer was used to view other images on another
server.
Are there any COTS products that will satisfy this requirement, or can
you recommend a custom code solution?

Watermarking over a non-static 3D image? (using javascript?)

I am trying to resolve the issue I have of not being able to create a watermark to sit permanetly over the top of a non-static 3D image.
I am aware that I cannot use the normal watermarking method so I have been looking at Javascript methods...
Im not familair with Javascrpit at all but so far I have a simple script inserted in my console window but am not sure what to do next to get this to activate and work.
p.s the watermark to be used is a simple jpg. file.

What I mean is... its a 3D CAD model which I have converted in acrobat 9 Pro from Pro Engineer (straight foward 3d pdf). The problem is when I add a watermark using the built in tools....the watermark is displayed correctly but the 3D veiwing of the model is lost and it effectively becomes a flat 2d image.
My predecessor in this job has told me that originally he had some form of script in place so he could batch the watermarking action to various files, which Is what I need to be able to do.
Also he said that it was important to set the background to transparent in the 'properties' menu. That is all he can remember.

Premiere Elements 9 with Panasonic GH1 & G13

The title is to help Google!
First hiccup, the Adobe ID entry box won't work unless your Adobe ID is an email address. Mine isn't. Fortunately you can skip that stage.
Choose "New Project" and the program crashes... ah, I see it's trying to read my VST's. Bad design - that should be enabled if the user wants to later on. Fortunately most of mine are where PE9 won't find them.
There's a promising set of presets (though as before, the PE requirement to choose precise presets is not found in other such programs, but that's probably buried too deep in the software to change).
Drag a Panasonic GH1 1080i clip onto the timeline, and it wants to change the preset I chose, so I click "yes". And it plays, which is something. Now I drag a 720p clip onto the timeline, and it displays a red line above the clip on the timescale, and only shows the watermark (which oddly does not appear in the 1080i clip playback). When I hit "enter" to render that portion, it still just displays the watermark. Ah, click on the window and the video is displayed under the watermark. But the video will not play without going back to the watermark only display.
Going from earlier posts, I have now to decide whether to ignore the claim that this is a fully functional demo and pay to make it fully functional, or wonder forever how well it might have worked if I'd bought it.
Aha again - I delete everything so far, and drag the 720p clip on its own onto the timeline. The project preset is automatically changed again (after confirmation), and it plays fine with no watermark. Good! Put the 1080i clip afterwards, and that gets the watermark treatment.
Let's try rendering the present state of the timeline to H264 1080i - off it goes, at a render speed a bit less than half speed (2 minutes of material in 4 minutes on the Q6300 quad core PC) which in comparison with programs seems slow, especially with all cores going flat out. Does this program support Cuda? No sign of it at a glance.
Completed render plays back fine and (apart from the watermark) looks perfectly OK in picture quality and resolution terms.
A minor annoyance which might not apply to anyone else - here I have two PCs using a shared keyboard and mouse using "Maxivista" to swap the mouse and keyboard to whichever screen the mouse is on. When I go to the PC not running PE9, playback stops.
Well, if only to make my earlier investment in PE8 worthwhile, I'll go for it and I'll add more detailed comments once the program is really fully functional... then I'll test whether G13 footage (Panasonic GH1 footage using non-standard firmware, giving much higher than standard bitrates) works or not.

Well, before plonking down my money I've tried a couple of "GH13" 1080i clips, which have bitrates outside the official AVCHD spec (eg around 35mbps in this case) and they play fine too.
I notice that when I click on "full screen" at the top of the interface that the playback then has artifacts which are caused by the timeline refreshing under the full screen playback - a bar across the screen which comes from elsewhere in the picture being played. Anyone else see that? That's with standard AVCHD or mpeg footage. Just possibly the kind of thing which checking for current NVIDIA drivers might fix?
As soon as I try to put a picture in picture with AVCHD material, the playback framerate drops drastically - that part of the timeline has to be rendered. In other recent software that's not required - off the top of my head I'd get four tracks to play at once. I'd say PE9 is well behind the game in terms of the efficiency of the timeline playback engine. Even rendering that part of the timeline is painfully slow. Still, maybe there are quality tradeoffs - one program I use doesn't attempt to give full definition playback from the timeline, leading to a slighly blurred look in the playback monitoring window, but that does mean it can show more complex timelines unrendered.

Text getting overwritten in first page of SAP Script

My Requirement:
1. I have a SAP Script which has a main window which prints the internal table data
2. I have created a instance of Mainwindow to display watermark.
3. Now, everything seems to be fine while displaying the watermark/foreground text.
Problem is:
4. If the data exceeds 15 records(i.e, end of the main page), 16th record starts printing from the top of the main window again.
5. This continues till the end of the 30th record(i.e., it is Overwriting all the first 15 records) and the 31st records is getting printed in the 2nd page.
6. FYI, I have maintained the header in such a way that 2nd Page should be triggered after the first.
7. Also, I have called the windows in the correct order
What could be the problem? Is it because, I have created an instance of main window to display the text. If that is the case, how to resolve this ??? Any thoughts on this would be highly appreciated

Importing MS Word docs with embedded images

When displaying imported documents with images directly embedded in the header as a watermark, SO8 displays only the frame but no image.
Saving the document (.doc) without changes & re-opening with word, the same effect is seen in word.
I understand I could delete the empty image frames & replace with a page background image, however this would prevent us migrating to SO, as our company has too many documents for this to be practical.
Does anyone know of a workaround to correctly import / convert the documents ?

import the diagrams, but if not then you could recapture the
existing diagrams (i.e. as screen-grabs of the Word document) using
something like SnagIt.

SSRS - A Subreport background image is overridden by background image of parent report

Hello. I have a background image on my parent report and a different background image for my sub reports. The background image of my sub reports are instead inheriting the background image of the parent report. I've researched and found nobody talking about
this. All my images are embedded.
Is there away around this?

For both the parent report and the sub report, I right clicked the Images folder in the Report Data section and embedded the images in the rdl. The parent report has an embedded image called watermark. The child report has an embedded image called subreportwatermark.
In the parent report, I added the following to the report properties:

Yes, I use an expression to determine whether to use the watermark or nothing based on a field of a dataset as you see above in both Value properties of both the report properties of the parent report and the body properties of the child sub report.
If I run the sub report only in the BIDS solution for a child row that has Y for watermark value, the sub report's subreportwatermark does show.
If I run the sub report only in the BIDS solution for a child row that has N for watermark value, the watermark does not show.
So far so good.
If I run the parent report in the BIDS solution for a parent row that has Y for watermark value, I don't get what I
expect. Here is the scenario. Five pages are produced. One for the parent, and one each for the sub report.

Both the print layout and view layout is wrong. What matters is what prints or is saved to a pdf. What prints and gets saved to a PDF is the Print Layout view.

Adobe Premiere Trial version "banner"

How do you remove the banner from a completed video product?
I downloaded the 30-day trial version and the "banner" runs right through the video I edited.

is so "liberally" written that a "supposed to" is hard to discern, let alone for what the Adobe watermark may be removed from as well as how you do it.
A while back when another user and myself reported the "automatic removal of the Adobe watermark" after the program was purchased, we were looked on as "unusual".
Fortunately, there is enough written in Premiere Elements forums here and elsewhere to clarify the situation for liberally written documents.
I think that we agree in principle on this.

Don't allow rights managed documents convert into PDF?

Hi,
Is there a way or solution to restrict right managed documents convert to PDF via pdf converter such as PrimoPDF, cutePDF & etc..
1 obvious solution is not granting the permission to print, but by doing this the user will not able to print the hardcopy.. just want to prevent document being distributed out as softcopy (in pdf format) but able to print hardcopy.

I am not aware of anyway to allow "hard copy" printing while preventing "sofy copy" printing to PDF as the same "print" permission is used for both.
I would recommend that if possible you take advantage of the dynamic watermark feature in Rights Management. You could set the watermark to display the users name, athough it is no guarantee, it would discourage ht euser from distributing a PDF with his or her name on it.
Also, even if we could prevent the "soft-copy" print to PDF, there is no way to prevent a user from taking the paper copy (that they were allowed to print) and then scanning it with a copier to convert it to PDF or some other soft copy format. The dynamic watermark feature could be used in this case as well to discourage users from converting and distributing the document.

Hi All,
a) We have generated a PDF output using BI Publisher and it is PASSWORD protected.
On a custom screen we are providing a button to open this PDF with WATERMARK applied and NO user intervention required ( i.e user needn't provide the password after pressing the button). We are able to apply the WATERMARK but PDF is asking for the password .
IS there a BI Publisher API available to remove the password from the PDF during the merging or applying WATERMARK and display it without user intervention ?

don't think there is a way to remove after the PDF is generated.
I'm assuming your regenerating the content after adding the water mark. I would just remove the property in the api call to make the pdf password secured.

Loading an external SWF in and displaying it behind overlay/watermark

I am building a SWF and the goal is to load in an external SWF file and then display that within my container. They are totally unrelated items and I do not want to modify the functionality of the item I am loading in. My SWF will briefly display a watermark overlay, but then disappear. Can anyone guide me into this best way of doing this?
Also, is there anyway to get the properties from the SWF I loaded in (namely height and width) so I might be able to easily adjust the size of my SWF to match?

just load your external swf using the loader class. what you described doing is standard stuff and nothing special needs to be done.
however, you must wait until loading is complete before you can access the loaded object's width and height.
