Watermarking photos

Hi, Im trying to make a watermark in Indesign for photos. Something that can be placed on any photo for a friend who is starting a small photography business. I have used InDesign mostly for making business cards I am not very familiar with watermarks. Can anyone help me?

To keep all the work within InDesign, and still avoid the watermark text being manipulable in a PDF or ID, position the watermark frame over the graphic's frame, then export the ID document as JPEG. Then, place the JPEG file in an ID document.

  • Watermark Photos in Photoshop CS4??

Is there a way I can batch Watermark photos in Photoshop CS4?? I have around 50 pictures that I take for my new photography business. I will send the company most of the pictures, but I want them all watermarked so they can not steal them. They will buy the ones they like.
What is the best way to do this???? I am new to photoshop, so please be detailed. Thank you

I have made available a package  on crafting Photoshop Actions that package I include a sample action set.  In that action set there is a sample action that will add three watermarks to any size image and be sized appropriately for that images pixel size.
The action uses one Photoshop Scripts that can save and restore an images resolution so an action can use the script to save the images resolution it is then free to scale the images print size so that it can properly size thing like watermarks for the action can use the script again and the script will restore the image back to its original print resolution.  The sample action shows how to use a Custom shape layer a custom color logo layer and a text layer for watermarking images. Example
The package can be downloaded from  http://www.mouseprints.net/old/dpr/JJMacksCraftingActions.zip
    Contains:
    Action Actions Palette Tips.txt
    Action Creation Guidelines.txt
    Action Dealing with Image Size.txt
Action Enhanced via Scripted Photoshop Functions.txt
    CraftedActions.atn Sample Action set
Sample Actions.txt Photoshop CraftedActions set saved as a text file. This file has some additional comments I inserted describing how the actions work.
And a dozen of my Photoshop Scripts to be used with in Photoshop Actions.

  • Watermarked photo workflow?

i have a bit of a goofy workflow that i am trying to improve on. advance apologies as i have not done any editing whatsoever in aperture as i am only currently using it to organize a database of images.
anyway, i /currently/ select a number of images that i want to watermark, create an album for these images, then i export the images to a folder on my desktop. then i size these to some convenient we format in Preview (usually 10" wide or 10" tall at 72 DPI). then i /delete/ the original images in this "project X watermark" album and i IMPORT these sized images into a new PROJECT. at this point the images are sized correct and i go ahead and EXPORT the project images to the desktop folder (after having deleted the original sized images in the folder on the desktop) and i select the color and location of the watermark.i bulk select the photos that i want watermarked in the various locations so i only do three of four exports at this point.
at this point i go ahead and i delete the imported sized images from this album and i IMPORT again the images from the desktop folder with the watermark.
then i go through the images on the desktop in Quick Look and if there are any out of place watermarks i redo the individual images in the manner described above.
so at this point i have images in a folder on my desktop with a watermark and i have them in a new PROJECT in aperture.
i assume this is going to be seen as insane but is there a better way to accomplish this without so many steps?
    THANKS

Aperture is an Image organizer that stores raw material (digicam files of recorded light) and information (instructions on how to alter the recorded light files —  including {mentioned for its importance to you} adding a watermark).  Aperture should be thought of as an aggressively efficient way to _make_ share-able image-format files from the data you store in it.  It does not — when properly used — store the share-able image-format files you make.
That is, to me, the important conceptual distinction that, having missed, is sending you on circuitous routes of file-making and storing.  Aperture is like a factory that produces items from molds.  Keep the factory smoothly-running, and customize the molds to your needs, but don't clutter up the place with the items you make.  Remember that you can always — at very close to zero cost — make another — or another hundred thousand — items.
I found Aperture easier to understand and use once I insisted on specifying exactly what I meant by "image", "photo", and "file".
Aperture is a database of Images.  Those images are made — on the fly — by combining two files: the Original, and the text files of development instructions.  "Photo" should not (in spite of its use by the designers of Aperture) ever be used:  its definition is so indefinite its use leads to confusion and wasted time.
_If_ your overall work requires you to keep many share-able image-format files at hand, by all means do so.  But use a file-management program to store them.  Aperture is not a file-manager.  Finder is.  (I use Path Finder, which is more full-featured, but comes with some clumsiness.)
I recommend inShort for studying and refining process flow.  Refining process flow is not simple.  The issue you've posted about, nevertheless, is one of process flow.  (A word about inShort: brilliant, but almost completely opaque at first glance; persevere — it's intransigence is wise.)

  • Watermarking photos using Adobe Photoshop Elements 12

Brand new photoshop user. Trying to figure out how to watermark my photos using this program. Any insight?

    Three ways:
    1. Use the text tool to type the watermark
    2. Make a watermark brush. This can be used over and over again, applied with a click of the mouse.

    3. Batch process multiple files - watermark. File menu>Process multiple files.

  • How can I email a saved watermarked photo in my web gallery without the watermark disappearing?

    Check your Export dialog:
Do you have it configured like this?

    iWatermark
There are others. Search on Macupdate.

How do I add a watermark to my photo's?

iPhoto has no built-in feature to watermark photos.
You can do it in an external editor, that allows graphics compositing or install the very useful plugin "BorderFX" (donation ware).  You can download it here:   BorderFX - iBorderFX iPhoto
This plug-in will allow you to add a watermark and other annotaions to a photo, when you export the photo from iPhoto.

  • Photoshop Elements Help | Add a watermark to photos

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/getting-started/add-watermark-photos.html

Go to Image>resize>image size. You can ascertain the resolution in this dialog.
For web work, 72 px/in is ok. For printing, 240-300px/in is the recommended range, although I have printed below 240 with good result.
Try resampling  copies of a few of the picture files  to see how they look., then batch process the watermark.
Unless you have a very large number of files that are candidates for the watermark, a brush is the way to go in my opinion. You can apply the watermark with a simple left click, place it where you want, use the font color of choice, and enlarge or reduce the watermark size readilty with the bracket keys on the keyboard, as with any brush. And the brush is there to use again on subsequent sessions!

  • Trying to tag only 6 various placed photos in library grid with graphic watermark....???

I am a photographer shooting photo sets of cars and need to keep them in order of shooting upon uploading. I am trying to attach a graphic logo watermark to the first shot of each set while keeping them all in the same export order. But...
I understand in order to attach the logo, I must be in export mode. Upon completion of the first photo watermark attachment.....I need to complete the export before going on to the next first shot of the series in the same library grid.
Maybe I am missing something here but need to figure this out other than in the export mode. If I take the pic to edit in photoshop to apply and flatten I back into Lightroom it puts the watermarked photo at the end of the library grid of photos.
Do I need to apply to original instead of a copy to keep in right order?

Change your sort order in the tool bar at the bottom of your Grid View to Capture Time instead of Edit Time

  • How to add a watermark in new Photos app

Is there an easy way to add a watermark in the new Photos app?

In iPhoto you could install the plug-in Border-FX.  That will let you batch export watermarked photos from iPhoto with several styles of watermarks, annotations, and borders.
If you still have iPhoto, consider to install his plug-in and use iPhoto for water marking.  BorderFX - iBorderFX iPhoto

  • How do you put a watermark on a photo in Elements 12

I have been trying to add a watermark to my photos in Elements 12 for at least a week now. I have looked at different discussion boards and tried to follow those directions with no luck. I am truly hoping someone will see this and be able to give me the proper information I need to add a watermark to my photo's so I can add them to the internet and be able to give them out to friends and family.
I have had this program since January of this year and have had a hard time learning how to use it. I am not saying I do not like it, I am just saying it is frustrating when I am trying to do something on a photo, it either takes me a while to find what I am looking for or I can not do what I would like because I can not figure it out.
I did try to follow two different links I found in discussion boards about watermarks for elements 12 and neither one helped.
        http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/getting-started/add-watermark-photos.html
         http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/851/cpsid_85114.html
I do not know what else to do, Can someone please help me and give me the proper information I need to add the watermark to my photos? I will greatly appreaciate it

Which step of the first link you posted is giving you trouble?
    Open the photos in Editor.
    Click Expert.
Select File > Process Multiple Files.
From the Process Files From drop-down list, select Opened Files.
Browse and select the folder in which you want to save the photos after the watermark is added.   Note: The watermark that you add using this method is permanent. So specify a folder other the folder in which your original photos are stored.
Click the drop-down list in the Labels area and select Watermark.
Specify the text that you want to display as the watermark. For example, you can specify your name.
Select the position, for example, Bottom Right.
Select a font according to your preference.
    Specify the font size.
Note: The font size depends on the dimensions of the photo. Photos of larger dimensions require the watermark to be in a large font.
Adjust the opacity and choose a color of your choice.
    Click OK.
To view the changes, open the photos from the folder you specified.

  • How do I insert watermarks in photos

I recently downloaded CS2 for watermarking photo's. I have read the information, called support and was led here for answers. Please help me if you know because I need to watermark photos for my business. Thanks so much!

If you downloaded CS2 without having a prior Photoshop product, shame on you.
I had been wondering about that.  I haven't seen it shouted out in other forums, so assumed you had to sign on with your Adobe ID to get the download, but we all used to install from disk back then, so I doubt there'd be a record for everyone's purchase, and Adobe would take folk's word for being legitimate.  CS2 is still a pretty powerful bit shoftware, so I can well believe folk being tempted.
[EDIT]  As an addendum to my comment above, there would be a certain irony in a person using software they didn't properly own, to add watermarks to protect their pictures.
