WAV File Burned to CD as Audio Plays SLOW

Hello!
I recorded a set of mine (I'm a DJ) using Stanton Final Scratch. The file is a WAV. I copied it to iTunes, then burned it as an audio CD. When I play the CD, it's slow, as in a 45 playing at 33.
I can play the file in iTunes, but as soon as I burn it, it's slow. Same thing if I convert the file to say an MP3. I can convert to Apple Lossless, but then if I burn that, same problem.
HELP!!!

Those are quite some encoder settings! I'm actually surprised you can play the files at all in iTunes.
If I had such files, I would probably resort to using something like Audacity to export the files to "normal" WAVs, using the settings I mentioned in my previous post (no floating point, etc.).
Anyway, we're on the right track, as the problem is in the properties of your source files.
EDIT: I presume you used Traktor FS to create the WAV files, so why not see if it lets you export the same files directly to more compliant WAV files you can use in iTunes?

  • .wav file attachments in email no longer play

Up until yesterday, on my iPad mini, if I got a voice message .wav file as an attachment in my email, I could open it right from the message and listen to it. Now when I try to do so, the screen to play the message shows up for a second, then jumps back to the email message.  I tried to listen to the message from my Xfinity account in Safari and got a black screen with a speaker symbol crossed out.
Could it be that my phone provider Comcast changed the encoding so that the .wav files are no longer compatible with mu iPad? (They still work on my iMac.) I am not aware of my making changes to the device or software that could cause this.
Thanks for any assistance on this.

    Hey,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
To better assist you, what is the audio codec of the of the .wav file? And can you please provide the software version of the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone?
On a side note, I did some testing here with .wav voice mail email attachments and was able to play the file, so this may be an issue with the type of .wav file.
    Thanks.

  • After opened test wav file on my audition CS6, audio file looks strange.

    Hello,
Now I'm using Audition CS6 while other my colleges are using CS3.
Even I checked the audio test file is well opened and played on CS3 with 26s total length, but on my CS6 this test file is reduced to 13s(half) and sound is heared faster twice.
As for normal wav. file works well, but it's happened my test wav. file. I think there is automatically converted when opening the file. Converting has some problems on my CS6.
    Thanks,
    Alvin

This sounds like an incorrect setting somewhere in the system for the Sample Rate. Could be to do with some settings for your local computer's audio hardware. Alternatively problems opening files a correct sample rate can sometimes be down to problems with the information stored in the .wav file header telling the software what the sample rate should be. What format, bit depth and sample rate id the Test file stored as?

  • Wav files created in Logic won't play on I-tunes

I recently recorded some songs in Logic, bounced them to a wav file and tried to open & play it in I-tunes (I have the latest I-tunes)...when I click on the file to open it in i-tunes, the i-tunes main window appears, but nothing plays & the song is not on their. Also when I drag the files to the i-tunes window, nothing happens. Any suggestions?

No, these files are 16bit...I had this same problem 2 days ago, and after re-mixing several times, I finally got one to open in i-tunes, but I've never had this problem before.

  • How to determine time value of a .wav file in real time as it plays?

    Hi all.
I need to build a vi in which a .wav sound file is represented in a Waveform graph, and at the same time, I want to play that file, and have a vertical cursor line running along the Waveform graph, in order to have a visual representation of where the sound track is, in terms of time.
Making the .wav file to appear graphicaly on a Waveform graph was an easy task to do, but then, I was´nt able to extract the time information of that .wav file, at the same time that this file is being played.
This is a very common situation in music players, video players etc, where some kind of graphical artifact, represents in real time where the track is while it plays.

Hi, this is the first ActiveX control I have played with but its really cool.
    I read this first: -
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/wmplay10/mmp_sdk/iwmpcontrolsinterface.asp
Which covers "The IWMPControls interface provides a way to manipulate the playback of a media item."
    Then built the attached sample.
It should now be straight forward to attach the position information shown to a graph control cursor postion.
You will need to set a file of your own choosing in the VI first.
Let us all know if this is what you wanted.

  • My imported audio plays slower?

Hi. I downloaded some mp3 files or people singing without music. I wanted to just import the files in to LP8 and play music to it using my Komplete 5 samples. But when I import and it converts the new audio file playsback slower on the timeline? Is there a way to import audio files and have them ignore what ever Audio settings Logic Pro is set to and have them playback at normal speed?
    Thanks!
    -Lars

I am running LP8. I found the tool in the bin that allows me to convert the Sample Rate the higher SR I went the slower it played. 44.1K was the lowest it would go and the audio pulldown and it is still slightly slow. I almost think it was recorded at 32K. For the life of me I can not find the Project settings for LP8 to see what it project is set to? I looked in the prefs but nothing?
    Thanks,
    -Lars

  • How to send wav file to NI audio out

How do I send a wav file to the D/A Audio Out
    of a 6071E.
A futher requirement is to send it out differentially
    using channel 0 and 1
    - Make Software User Friendly -

I've attached an example to this posting. This example generates an analog output waveform on the board and channel specified. The waveform generated will be based on the WAV file selected. It is an example of the using a multifunction data acquisition board to play a WAV file on speakers.
    Instructions:
    1. Select the desired device and channel #.
    2. Enter the path to your 8 bit mono WAV file. ( a sample WAV file is included in attachment below)
    3. Enter the update rate for your Analog Output(AO) channel. This should equal the rate of your WAV file.
    4. Wire your speakers to the Analog Output channel
    5. Run it.
    6. The program will continue to loop the WAV file waveform on the AO channel until you clickthe stop button.
    How it works:
    An 8 bit mono WA
V file is read from disk. After the data and header of the WAV file are extracted, the data is scaled from 0 to 1 V and then the entire waveform is written to the Analog Output channel specified. The example is set form continuous generation (or playback) and will continue looping the WAV files waveform until the stop button is pressed.
    I hope this helps.

  • Wav file in email won't play

I got an email with a brief wav file ( telephone message) and they always play on iPhone, but wouldn't play on iPad. Why?

Are you sure you did download the entire message? The built-in media player (QucikTime) should play WAV files and no third-party apps should be required.
    See https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3652515?start=0&tstart=0
Nevertheless, if you in no way can make it work, let me know and I compile a full list of WAV-capable third-party players (there are a lot of them).

  • Email wav file attachments

I receive email from my work voicemail that sends wav audio attachments, but I can't seem to play them. they are adpcm codec files. is there an available player for these? (when I try to play them I get the message that they are corrupted files, but they aren't) I recently switched to the n95 from a Palm Treo where I had an app installed (mVoicemail) that allowed me to "view" the attachment in their player - is there anything like this out there?

These wav files are from my corporate exchange server...so I would thought they be typical wav files...my quicktime can play them on my MAC at home without adding any special codexes....and I tried a test by putting it in my itunes...and it plays in itunes on my iphone without any problem...so don't think that is it....I think they have it restricted somehow.

  • Importing .wav files

How do you import .wav and .wpl files into iTunes? The files are on my iMac, but the Import application in iTunes fails when .wav files are chosen for import.

depends on what type your .wav files they are.
is it audio .wav or movie file .wav ? what says your information ?
and how you got it your .wav file...
it should be able to play on your itune if its .wav file...
or just use your quicktime for playing...
    good luck

  • HI, I am having trouble when importing .wav files into logic.

Everytime I import this .wav file of a DJ set i recorded, it shows me the waveform but no sound comes out when its played. I have tried converting the bitrate to 16bit and the filetype to aiff as I saw it had helped people with similar problems but when i do this its boosts the gain massivly and the recrding becomes very distored? Really dont know what to try??
Also the reason I am trying to get the Wav in was bevause i need to normalise it as it had to be recorded very quitely to avoid distortion on the recording. I recorded it by using the imput on the back of my monitors as they are usb, and th programme i used to record it is "audio recorder tool" from the app store
    Thanks for your help, Joe

I think the problem is you're recorded 32-bit wav files which Logic doesn't support.
(don't convert to aiff, unless you have the right program, that understands converting little endian 32 bit wavs to big endian aiff format, you will get distortion)
I think your best bet is to download "Audacity" the free audio editor and convert to 24-bit WAV files. Re-save the audio file under a different name after converting. In Audacity this is done using the Export function, selecting other non-compressed formats.
    http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/mac
The reason you want 24-bit WAVs to work with is you're going to be raising the volume of the file, 24-bit files will suffer less damage when editing with plugins, normalizing...etc.

  • Can't associate wav files - help

    Hi All
I have some .wav files (podcasts from university) and every time I try to play one it opens in itunes unless I do 'open with... quicktime'.
I would like to associate the .wav files with quicktime (or other audio player than itunes) permanently, so that I don't have to do 'open with...' for every file.
I've tried changing the quicktime MIME settings but that doesn't work. Can someone help?????

MIME Settings are for browser based files.
Locate one of your .wav files and single click (Control click) to open the Get Info window.
Change the default "Open with:" app to QuickTime Player and then click the "Change All..." button and confirm your change.

  • How to open a "wav" file in Logic 7.2.1 and then remaster?

A fellow musician wants to see if I can improve audio tracks his band recorded in Cubase SX. He has a CD with the WAV files of each of 12 audio tracks. First question - Could someone tell me how to open his files and then import them into Logic Pro so that his tracks 1-12 correspond to my audio tracks 1-12 and be in sync?
Second question - assuming I can get his tracks going what are the key ways to boost volume or "master" his tracks so that the end result, a stereo mix, is loud vibrant and "radio ready"?
I'm familiar with the mastering plug ins on the output channels of Logic. I've used "Soft Maximizer" but it seems to be compression related. Are these "rooms", available on the output channels, the only way to increase volume and aliveness?
He's doing this because the studio he's at can't seem to make a mix that he's happy with. He says the mixes lack volume and vibrancy. Thanks in advance.

Use the Audio Editor window to import the tracks. Then drag them one at a time onto Audio tracks in the Arrange window so they all align to Bar 1 1 1 1.
The fun will start if they were not recorded simultaneously as you will need to align them manually to be in sync. Good luck with that it takes time but is not impossible. Use the moveable start point in the Audio Editor to adjust the start of each wav file until they are aligned.
To improve the levels, probably the quickest way is to Normalize each track first in the Audio Editor window before you start mixing and EQ'ing them in Arrange.
