I try to import flac files in Wave Editor 1.4.4
When I do that here it works fine. I think there is a problem with your flac files. If you would like post one somewhere, I'll take a look at it and see how it behaves with my copy of Wave Editor.
Batchconverting it in some b-grade software
The program mentioned in the link cited by Bee Jay is xACT. There's nothing b-grade about it. It works well. A similar program that I use constantly is the excellent freeware Max.
If you try converting your flacs with these programs, it might help you figure out if your flacs are damaged.
Its 2010, this stuff should work flawlessly by now.
This stuff works a lot better than it ever did before. But as long as software is created by humans, "flawlessly" is not going to be a reasonable expectation.

  • How to import Flac files into itunes

    Hi there,
    the title say it all. How can I import Flac files into Itunes?
    I have a lot of them. I click onto add to library select the flac file, click on open and nothing happen.
    Many thanks for your help.
    regards

    Hello CESNET the best bet is to try http://blowintopieces.com/fluke/ I myself don't use Flac files but to any audiophile it's important to hear sound at it's best. Also WAV or AIFF & ALAC you will need to use http://tmkk.hp.infoseek.co.jp/xld/index_e.html to convert into ALAC.
    P.S. their is also a simple FLAC player but can't remember it one more thing converting FLAC to WAV will not give you full TAGs. Best bet is to try just one file you've copied ether straight into iTunes or convert & see what's best for you.

    Zillenwater said: You can export a FLIP video clip using Picasa 3, and then bring it into Premiere Elements. The video and audio will successfully come in.
    Thanks much - this worked very well and was so easy. After spending hours looking at a lot of different converters and getting nowhere, I spotted this solution.
    I used Flip avi files directly from the camera, copied them into a folder that Picasa 3 could find, and then exported them. They showed up in my /My Documents/My Pictures/Picasa/Exported Videos folder as Windows Media Files (.wmv). I brought my test files into Premiere Pro 1.5, previewed them, placed them in the timeline and rendered them. they looked good here, so I exported my movie and the video looks pretty good, considering it was from the Flip.
    Picasa did something that a dozen other conversion programs couldn't get right (or at least I couldn't find the right combination of codecs and settings). It's a relief, alright, and information I'm happy to share.

    click here for information.
    however, you could also convert the FLACs to Apple Lossless files.  either of these free apps can do that for you.

  • I am having problems importing some CDs into iTunes on a laptop with Windows 8. Most CDs import without problem. The ones I can't import can be imported into iTunes with Windows 7. Does anybody know why this problem is occurring?

    I am having problems importing some CDs into iTunes on a laptop with Windows 8. Most CDs import without problem. The ones I can't import can be imported into iTunes with Windows 7. Does anybody know why this problem is occurring?

    First-off, this seems to be a general problem with 10.4 (across all the operating systems of which I am aware).  Unfortunately, I cannot provide a permanent solution but, if you need a quick fix, this will (hopefully) work for you.
    For some inexplicable reason, iTunes no longer recognises standard Windows paths.  For example:
    Y:\Music\Buddy Holly\Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
    The end result is that it will import a playlist with no content.
    It will, however, recognise the equivalent Apple paths which look like this:
    file://localhost/Y:/Buddy Holly/Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
    It is possible to convert your existing playlists using a few basic replace commands in something like Notepad.  In my case, I made some code changes in my music manager and now generate two sets of playslists (one standard and one to accommodate iTunes).
    Forgive me foir stating the obvious but please remember to make sure that the disk / path containing your music is accessible when doing the import otherwise you will probably get a blank result.  Note that you can do a bulk import by selecting all the (revised) playlists and dragging them onto the iTunes sidebar.
    I am sorry that this is not a "clean" solution but it will work if you are in a bind.  The only alternative of which I am aware is to wait for Apple to fix the problem.

  • Importing tga problem

    I have several targa image sequences from a client. FCP (6.0.5) will import some but not others. The only difference I can find is that under "kind" in the get info window some are "tga image" and the others are "adobe photoshop targa file". The latter imports no problem, while the former give an error: "File Error 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown."
    Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or have run into this issue?
    FWIW, I checked the fils in photoshop and they all have the same modes. They also all have the same file sequence naming structure.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Actually forgot to explain that the error I mentioned above occurs when I try to import just 1 of the targa files individually. If I try to import a sequence the number of errors changes to match the number of targas in the sequence. Sorry about the miscommunication. For the record, there are no other files inside the sequence folder(s) - just the targas.
    Still haven't figured this out yet. Shake, Nuke, After Effects, Photoshop all open/import the files, but FCP will not.

  • Logic 8 wave editor

    How do you delete an apple audio loop from the wave editor?

    Hi Ted,
    You don't. It's an editor. You cannot delete MIDI regions via the piano roll either. Same thing.
    I have the feeling you want something else - try rephrasing your question, describe what it is you are doing and what you want to achieve.
    Do you want to delete a loop from your arrangement, or delete it from disk? Or you want the wave editor display to display something else?

  • BUG: JDeveloper code editor shows valid static import call as error

    I've noticed what appears to be a bug in the JDeveloper code validator when dealing with static imports.
    The following classes demonstrate the problem:
    package test;
    public class Parent {
      public static void parentMethod() {
        System.out.println("called parentMethod.");
    package test;
    public class Child extends Parent {
      public static void childMethod() {
        System.out.println("called childMethod.");
    package test;
    import static test.Child.*;
    public class StaticInheritanceTest {
      public static void main(String[] args) {
        Child.childMethod();
        Child.parentMethod();
        childMethod();
        parentMethod();  //<-- this line is highlighted as an error
    }Notice how on lines 7 and 8 of StaticInheritanceTest, the code validator does recognise that both parentMethod and childMethod are static methods of the Child class.
    Since 'Child' has been statically imported, then parentMethod should be available. Although parentMethod is presented as an 'auto-suggest' at line 11 in StaticInheritanceTest, when you try to call it the code editor shows the call as an error and the Ctrl-Click (to drill down into the method) doesn't work.
    When I run the class, it compiles successfully and runs with the following output:
    called childMethod.
    called parentMethod.
    called childMethod.
    called parentMethod.This might seem like an obscure and theoretical problem, but I've hit this whilst using Mockito, which uses exactly this kind of inherited static method to provide matchers.

    Hi,
    thanks. Will file a bug. This seems to be a designtime only issue that does not present a show stopper.

  • Importing song problem.

    Hi, and just know, this is my first post.
    My problem is kind of weird. I have a song that was in a WMV format, I believe, when I was first going to save it, but I changed it to WAV and MP3. I tried to import both into iTunes, but to no avail. What I mean is that I've tried to drag both songs, impoprt the songs song by song, and import the folder. I get through the bar at the top, but I don't find the song. What's happening? Please, I beg of you, help me! Thank you.

    One quick question: Are you able to see the song files in explorer view in My Computer?

  • How to import flac files as assets

    Using Encore CS4:
    When I create an audio DVD, I can add mp3 files as assets, but when I browse to a folder containing flac files, none are displayed as selectable.
    Also there is not a choice in the filetype drop-down to filter flac files.
    I've successfully added a flac filter to Audition 3.0, and am wondering if the same can be done for Encore.

  • [CS2] Importing XML problem

    Hi All,
    I am trying to import a XML file that used system id with the pointed DTD in another directory where the DTD contains relative paths to other DTDs and entity files.
    For example:
    <!ENTITY % common.ent
    PUBLIC "-//ES//ELEMENTS common element pool version 1.1.3//EN//XML"
    "common113.ent">
    %common.ent;
    When I use other XML editor to write the XML file, it works find. However, when I import the XML to InDesign, it shows an error saying that the public id is not supported and the external file cannot be found.
    I would like to ask why this is happening and how can I fix the problem?
    Any help is appreciate. Thank you.
    Ikki Cheng

    Hi All,
    Just found out that, it seems when importing XML file, if the DTD has relative path in the definition, it is relative to where the current InDesign document resides. I would like to ask if it is possible to change it to be relative where the DTD resides without changing all the relative path to absolute path?
    Any help is appreciate. Thank you.
    Regards,

  • FCP X and Importing Media problems

    I currently have the Macbook Pro Retina (running Mountain Lion), A Sony HDR-PJ10e Camcorder and Final Cut Pro X and am having increasing problems trying to import the video shot on the camcorder.
    Prior to installing ML, the camcorder would be recognised within FCP, but refused to recognise any of the footage, indeed if I tried to import the MTS files direct, they are greyed out which I have previously read is a known issue of sorts and that only import from camera can be used (but is not working in this case)
    I have tried encoding the MTS files using Adobe Media Encoder, i have tried various formats but the only only that FCP will recognise is quicktime MOV files.
    What can possibly be causing this problem?
    I should add that the footage is shot in 1080p, but even down converted to an MPEG2 file (be that .mpg or the split .m2v and wav files) FCP still refuses to recognize these as a valid format as they are greyed out when trying to "import files"
    Any help would be appreciated but I have to confess to being a relative novice to all things mac.

    Prior to upgrading to ML, the camcorder was recognised but refused to import anything using the method you describe (I already tried that).  I was able to make an archive from the camcorder but it will not even open that archive to iport anything.
    Unfortunately, since the upgrade to ML when the camcorder connects to the computer, the PMB software crashes.  The camcorder is still available in Finder after pmb has crashed, but it is no longer recognised in FCP as it was prior to the upgrade to ML.
    The camcorder has internal memory and the ability to use a card, but everything is currently stored on the internal memory, everything is in the exact same format, frame rates etc...

  • Import purchase - problem with delivery costs

    Hi guys,
    In case of import purchase, we are normally giving 3 to 4 types of delivery costs (like freight,agency charges etc).  If there is no transaction done against the PO, we are able to either change or add new delivery cost to the Purchase Order.  But if we try to make changes or add one more condition type (related to delivery cost), after preparing inbound delivery/goods receipt against the PO, it is not allowing.  Do we need to make any configuratin changes for this to happen.
    Please suggest us the way out for this problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chintu
