Waveforms not high/big enough

I'm editing a feature film that has been professionally sound recorded and transferred. I like to have my waveforms displayed when editing, but my problem is that the waveforms are so shallow that they are next to useless. I am using the second biggest track height setting, but most of my waveforms only go one or two pixels higher than the central line - yet my levels seem fine. Importing a CD shows more robust waveforms, but I am used to CDs coming in much louder.
So my question is - does this sound normal (Yes - I've trashed prefs) - or is there anyway I can exaggerate the height of the waveforms?

the only way to enlarge the size of the waveform is to resize the track height (as it seems you have already done) ... one thing, if you zoom right in on the timeline then you'll only see very gradual changes, if you zoom back out you will see a more obvious waveform

Numerator in Unit of Measure not big enough

Hi,
The numerator, field UMREZ, of the unit of measure has a maximun lenght of 5 digits ( maximum of 99999 ). But for certain conversion I need (in MM02-> aditional data->tab units of measure):
120000 EA = 1 ROL
How can I do this without entering something bigger than 99999?
I have thought in three alternatives:
1.- Modification of that data domain, so that it can be stored up to 999999.
2.- Use decimals in the denominator , so that I have something like 12000 EA = 0,1 ROL.
3.- With an auxiliar unit of measure EA2 ( created via CUNI, linked to EA): 10 EA2 = 1 EA :::::and then::::: 120000 EA2 = 1 ROL.
I havent been able to complete the 2nd and the 3rd. ANd I want to avoid the first...
Do you know if something like this can be done? if so, how????
I have found post UOM conversion not big enough but I could not find any usefull answer in there ...

Yes, I had already read this note, thanks for the info anyways.
They describe exactly my case:
Example 3: Too large numerators and denominators
                       When 120000 CM3 = 0,2 tons (TO), you can no longer save numerator and denominator of conversion ratio 600000 CM3 = 1 TO as numerator and denominator may have maximally five digits.
                       Here, you must either select a larger volume unit or a smaller unit of weight: With DM3 the conversion ratio would be 600 DM3 = 1 TO, with KG the conversion ratio would be 600 CM3 = 1 KG.
                       Generally, the alternative units of measure and the base unit of measure should result in quantities that are in the same dimension since the conversion factors may not be larger than 99999/1 and not smaller than 1/99999.
But I can not change the Basic Unit of Measure, because the Material has already movements, and I dont know how to create another unit of measure (let say EA2) linked to EA with a the value 1 EA2 = 10 EA. In this case I could use EA2 in the material with the conversion 12000 EA2 = 1 ROLL.
Is this possible? How can I create this unit? in CUNI I can create a new UOM but I dont see how to link it with an existing one ( create a conversion between them ) .

First time user of Mac(Book Air) and mouse sensitivity not high enough

First time user of Mac(Book Air) and one thing that has bothered me is when I use a generic USB mouse and I've set the tracking speed/sensitivity to the max and it's still not high enough and it just irritates me to no ends. Am I not doing something properly being a first time mac user? Thanks in advance for any response.

Depends on the mouse. "Laser" with shorter wavelengths are far too sensitive for me and need to be dialed down. IR is worthless in my opinion because they cannot move properly across a black/white checkerboard.
I actually (to my great surprise) love using the trackpad and hate to use the mouse because trackpad keeps my thumbs directly between my hands while typing. But that is just me.

I use high contrast mode (am visually impaired); just upgraded to 8.0. When I open a new tab, the background does not high contrast, showing white until the page loads. Is there a setting that can be adjusted to fix this, or is this permanent?

I use Windows Vista, and I use the default Alt+Shift+PrtScn high contrast mode for white text on a black background. I only notice when I click a link that opens a new tab or open a tab via the mouse wheel that becomes the main tab. I can't switch tabs fast enough if I click a link that doesn't open as the main tab to tell if the problem persists. The duration of the non-high contrast background is only as long as the page takes to load. There does not seem to be much lag, but the lack of high contrast is painful enough that I have to close my eyes, so I'm not sure. On a related note, the new status information does not high contrast either, making it impossible for me to read.

Does the font interface in Photoshop show big enough in Windows 7?
I purchasde a new Pc with Windows 8, and the Photoshop and Bridge Interface is not readable, it is miniscule, Adobe, Microsoft and DEll cannot fix problem. So I am returning my PC, and need to purchase a new one, can anyone tell me if the font is big enough, say size 12 or 14 (normal size) on window 7?

Is 128GB big enough for me?

I’m currently studying engineering, I am planning to buy a macbook for studying. But there is a lots of software I need to install into the laptop, such as, Labview, Matlab, mplab, etc. The size of each software is around 5GB. Also, I need to install Windows in to the laptop as some of the software does not get a mac version. It means around 30GB to 50GB for the software, I am not sure how big are the mac os and windows, assume they are 50GB total. Therefore, I only get 28GB or less for other documents? Does the size of software of mac version will be same with windows? And is 128GB big enough for all my software or better get a 256GB version, as I is not upgradable after purchase? 200pounds (178pounds after student discount) can easy to get a 1TB harddrive for saving the documents, but i want to make sure around how many space left if I install all my softwares and oc. Thanks for reply that quick. I think 8GB RAM is enough as the software I used not spending too much RAM. But not sure how many RAM I need if I am using windows with virtual software (such as virtualbox) not bootcamp.
By the way, I think 256GB SSD is faster than 128GB, isn't it?

Is iTunes U big enough?

I understand iTunes you gives you 500GB of space. My question is if that will be big enough. I see universities like Standford putting out video that is close to 2 hours long at 300mg and looks good. I understand some is camera, camera workers, and teachers all working together, but i was wondering if anyone had some suggestions as to compression standards for putting up high quality video for classes, and stuff like that. if at all possible small size but still respectably good quality to where if need be they can read off a white board.

Between hosting on your own servers with RSS or using H.264, you should be fine.
Another option is using Apple's Podcast Producer when recording to convert the video to an enhanced podcast. By using a large image size (compared to what you would get with video) and only audio, you will achieve a much smaller file size than video and better legibility.

WebLogic Server clusters not high available!!

          I'm working with WebLogic Server 6.0.
          I try to connect to cluster using explicit IP addresses.
          For this case,first ,I cluster server A,B and C ,then client try to look up home
          interface at server A.
          After server A return home reference ,client creates EJB object and calls method
          using that reference .
          If server A fail, it still working with others server ,B and C.
          But if new client try to find home reference at server A ,he can't.
          This situation means that WebLogic Server cluster is not high availability or
          I did something wrong with configuration?
          And if I missed something ,how can I fix it?

Hi King,
          If you look up at a non-existent IP/port, then it will not respond. That is
          expected behavior.
          You should not be using an explicit IP like that. At least use DNS round
          robin.

Scroll bar does not scroll far enough to view last page in thumbnail images

When using Adobe Acrobat, and have the thumbnails/pages panel open on the left side, the scroll bar will not scroll far enough down to show the last row of thumbnails. For example, have a 40-page document open with the Pages Panel open showing page thumbnails in rows of 3. When the scroll bar reaches the bottom, the last row shows pages 37, 38, and 39. Where is page 40? If you look closely, you can see a sliver of the top of the thumbnail below page 37. There is no way to view the thumbnail because it is at the bottom of the list, and your scroll bar has reached its end.
Is it confirmed that this is a bug in Adobe? If yes, is there any hotfix available for it?

8cm * (1 in/2.54cm) * 300 dpi = 944 pixels (should be 1280 if this is the back camera)
6cm * (1in/2.54cm) * 300 dpi = 708 pixels (should be 720 if this is the back camera)
The back camera on iPad 2 is 1280x720 = 0.92Mp. No way to increase that.

Work area is not too long enough

i am trying to insert data into a custom table and i use the statement
insert ztable from workarea.
and i get the syntax error "work area is not too long enough".
i have a mandt field as the first field in my custom table. workarea is defined to hold the rest of the vaules.

Is there any way to change the feed in itunes? The only feed I have now is http://feeds.feedburner.com/CasaEgyptStation
I tried to restore the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast but feedburner refused.
I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.

I've already tried everything listed in these links.
I've also resync'd email accounts via iTunes between my Air and iPad3.
Messaging works OK on all my other devices using the same account settings.
Problem started around May25th.
(and yes, I already posted back then under a different ID with no resolution).
There has to be a simple solution.
I'm presuming some sort of conflict with iCloud, but not sure.
Any other ideas?
