Wavey lines in quicktime bounce

good day,
we are using final cut pro 6.0.3 on 10.5.2
When we bounce with quicktime conversion, the result is the video comes out with waves and ripples on it. We do NOT have any filters on it, and it does not look like what it does in final cut.
does anyone know what is causing this?

Your QuickTime conversion is using whatever settings it was left at last and is recompressing the video in any case. Even if your conversion settings match the timeline settings.
Use "Export to Quicktime" and "Current Settings".
QuickTime Conversion is typically used to make a video file using settings other than those in your timeline.
Why are you "bouncing" anyway? I Haven't used that since I stopped editing on 1" C.

I turned on my mac this morning after using Qt all day yesterday with no problems
    I get this message
The document “BOULET PEANUT - OFF LINE 3-QuickTime H.264.mov” could not be opened. An unknown error occurred (-101)
Also QT will not play the audio of the files
    I'm on a mac pro, 10.7.4
    Everything updated
Any know whats up and can help solve this, it seems to be a software related problem to QT 7 or X

Exactly the same by my iMac.
"The document ... could not be opened. An error occurred (-101)"
I can play the same video with VLC player but not with QuickTime.
QuickTime and iTune can not play anything at all.
VLC Player however can play all medias without any problem.
    All my apps are uptodate.
    What could be the problem?

  • Green wavey lines on screen

My iMac 1.9 Ghz PowerPC isight has suddenly started displaying wavey green lines (horizontally across the screen) these come and go and change if you move an active window about the screen. Sometimes the whole screen takes on a pale green tinge, and sometimes the entire screen 'goes' I lose all content of screen and get white-out with some pale colours.
I have zapped pram and nvram. I have tried the re-set pmu technique. My serial number starts with W854 XXXXXX
Is anyone else having these problems? and can anyone offer any suggestions. I would really like to keep this PPC mac going as I have lots of software which won't run on intel macs.
    Thank you

I, too, am experiencing green lines with my iSight camera (standalone) when I use iChat or PhotoBooth. I first noticed this happening on my PPC G4.
But now I have a new Intel Mac Pro (Dual 3.0ghz Quad / 8-core) and the iSight still displays the green lines (looks like the Matrix) on the left half of the screen only...the right side is fine. I would upload a screen shot, but don't think I can on here.
So being that it's doing this on both computers, I assume my iSight is not working properly or is broken? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Motion Lines on Quicktime Export

When exporting my sequence to a quicktime file, I get horizontal digital lines on motion within the footage. When viewing it from Final cut it looks fine (both on computer and on the external monitor) but when I create a Quicktime File (both using the Export to Quicktime and Export using Quicktime Conversion option) this happens.
On a page wipe, for example, I see the image moving frame by frame in Final Cut, but if I look at it frame by frame on the quicktime file, I see the lines scrubbing across.
I tried exporting using all kinds of different settings.
Does anyone know what causes this and what I can do to fix it???

Use google and explore for several hours the topic of interlaced video. It's a truly complex issue and neither of you have provided enough information for us to do much more than ask you to learn more about video basics so you can post a question we can answer directly.
Know ahead of time that acquisition formats can be interlaced or progressive. Your editing format can be either. Your release format can be either. And the display or video monitor upon which you are viewing any of the above can be either interlaced or progressive. And sometimes it doesn't matter one way or the other because interlacing is actually a good thing, most of the time, because it smooths out horizontal movement relative to temporal motion.

I had done nothing to provoke it to make it like this, it was fine one moent them all of the .MOV's on my computer became like this all the way through. What can I do to change it back to normal??

  • Striated black lines in Quicktime

Quicktime recently started displaying all my videos with striated vertical black lines. It occurs in all Quicktime videos. (online, in iTunes, saved to my hard drive, in iMovie)
I was running Quicktime 7.6 but down graded to 7.5 using Pacifist. This seemed to solve the problem, but a few days later it came back.

    Crop marks.
Did you apply the crop marks effect?

  • Can't get rid of horizontal lines bordering quicktime

I am putting a movie slideshow over a white background and the las clip is white to give it a "dissappearing" affect. However there are horizontal black lines bordering the player. How do I get rid of? -paul

No, I'm just plugging a HDMI cable into my macbook to see how it looks on a tv screen. I want to put it on youtube and show it at some places later on, if the lines dissappear.
Here are 2 screenshots, where the first one is without 'show both fields' and the second one with 'show both fields'.
You see the blurriness especially on the persons on the right.

  • New programmer - Wavey line

New to Java at University and we are currently modelling flags to learn graphics.
One of the flags has a wavy line/band across the middle. I know that the wavelength is 120 the amplitude is 6 and it is 48 wide. Just not sure what command to use and how to structure it. I had assumed it would be a variation on drawLine or drawString but can't seem to find an answer in documentation. I'm sure it should be quite basic as we are only 5 weeks in. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

You can use drawPolyline() (by computing many points in the wavy line) or drawArc() (by computing half waves and connecting the arcs).

  • Problem Lines on Quicktime Export File

    Hi,
I'm trying to output a file from Final Cut Pro to Quicktime and I have gotten some strange results.
    http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/attachment.php?attachmentid=2096&d=1170989259
    FILE>EXPORT>QUICKTIME CONVERSION>VIDEO SETTINGS
    Compression Type: Motion JPEG B
    Quality: Best
SOUND SETTING (I left as default)
The attached clip is done with Compression Type H.264 and Quality Low so that I could get the file size small enough to post it here. The strange results that I get with the H.264 file are the same as Motion JPEG B. Changing the quality setting results in the same problems. I also tried Sorenson Video and MPEG-4 Video - which gave the same result as the others. I did try the DV/DVCPRO - NTSC compression which gave me a file without problems. I would however prefer that it be a Motion JPEG B type of file. The short example clip is part of a longer scene of about 1 minute that has been sped up 1600%.
    I am using:
    QuickTime™ Version 7.1.3,
    Final Cut Pro 5.0.4
    Mac OS X 10.4.8
    1.67 Ghz PowerPC G4
    1GB DDR SDRAM
250 GB Lacie external drive (20GB free)
    Thanks for any advice!
    Tim

  • Comb like lines on Quicktime movies

    Hi
I wonder if anyone can shed some light on a phenomenon that has plagued me for the past couple of years with FCP 4.5.
When I monitor (preview) in FCP there is little comblike lines usually from anything white regardless of exposure. Also when a film is rendered using any compression setting the same thing occurs- comblike lines.
I get these results with Panther and every OS up to 10.4.8.
I am using single processor G5 with a variety of cameras.
    Any thoughts?
    G5 single processor   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

You've used Final Cut Pro for two years and you never read up on interlacing?
Unless I'm misunderstanding you, that's what it is: interlacing. There's a lot more to it, but if you don't care and just want to get rid of the interlacing, add the deinterlacing filter (in FCP) to any of your clips.
If you're authoring something for television you should leave the interlacing intact.
That's the shortest answer I can give.

  • PNG pictures not showing up in IE7 after Quicktime Install

I am having a problem on my Vista box. PNG images are not showing in IE - not on any website since installing Quicktime.
It seems this has something to do with Apple's Quicktime. I have gone to MIME and File Assoc. settings in Quicktime and set the images to open on the machine with Photoshop - this works fine. But when I try to view a PNG on the web I get the "red X" image not found.
I have tried this registry fix: http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/202/1/, But it does not work and gives an error.
Also, when I try to open an PNG in IE locally on my machine it's using Quicktime to try and open the file. Example: When calling this image on my machine via IE, Quicktime is opening this png file instead of simply showing the file in the browser.
    C:\Users\neal\Web Sites\images\cancel_f2.png
I am also including links to screen shots from a program called MIME View which obviously shows how Quicktime seems to have 'hijacked' PNG images??? I am also including a screen shot of the settings for a jpg, which I assume should be about the same for a PNG.
    PNG: http://www.nealwhitley.com/png-properties.jpg

Any thoughts? Is this a registry problem? Any fixes? Is this a Vista issue?
    Thanks,
    Neal

I just sent this on to Apple QuickTime for Windows support feedback. I lost 'png' in Windows Vista Home Premium IE7 Browser unless I 'right click' IE7 Icon and 'run as administrator' after installing QuickTime Pro with iTunes on a new Dell desktop. From what I find in on-line forums QuickTime for Windows has been doing this in Internet Explorer for quite some time, I tried the same .zip file you tried with no completion in 'merge'... It appears to be a 'bug' from Apple, let''s hope they can offer a 'fix'...
03/10/07 new in the box Dell Dimension E521 desktop Windows Vista Home Premium OS installed. After I downloaded iTunes with QuickTime I noticed Internet Explorer 7 could not display 'png' images. I have QuickTime 7.2 with iTunes installed and stay current on Apple for Windows updates. After many hours of research on-line Windows support forums I discovered something in 'MIME' QuickTime application associates 'png' to QuickTime only and I get the annoying 'red x' appearing at any and all[right click properties] 'png' images. I contacted Dell warranty support about this matter without a 'fix' other than assuring me it was associated with a glitch in 'QuickTime for Windows'. In my Control Panel at QuickTime Icon there is no access to correct or alter this MIME 'png' association in Vista. I found if I 'right click' IE7 Icon and 'run as administrator' The browser opens very slow, but now 'png' images appear. They also do clearly appear in Mozilla Firefox alternative Browser on this PC. I'm quite certain Apple knows about this matter and has been receiving support questions concerning restoration of IE7 'png' images which seem to occur when QuickTime is installed. Since this is a QuickTime for Windows issue, can there be an adjustment in future QuickTime updates to address this sad state of affairs? I have tried Internet Options 'reset IE7' I even tried a 'system restore' on this brand new PC, experiencing this 'bug' issue related to QuickTime MIME 'png' images should best be addressed by Apple since Microsoft seems to offer no working solution short of re-installing the Vista OS, but installation of QuickTime for Windows would only cause it to happen again... Can you refer this matter to QuickTime for Windows Department for advice, maybe corrective measures in future updates?
Your assistance is greatly appreciated, I wouldn't be on-line without iTunes and QuickTime, let's see if we can get the 'red-x' out. Thank you!

  • Mail.app 3.6 - change bounce text

Is there any way to change text that Mail 3.6 sends when bouncing an email?
I'd like to change 'From: postoffice' to 'From: Mail Delivery System'
I'd also like to hide my IP address and 'Resent-From' line that reveals 'bounce' is actually being 'resent' from my email address and not from my mail server.
If bounce is going to help discourage spam by appearing as if email account does not exist, then it's essential to change these settings.

Hi Darrell, true, Bounce only notifies them they've reached a valid eMail addy.
Is there some way to setup a Bounce reply using WebMail on the server end? Or is this mail server on your Mac?
Not sure how they spoof the IP, but maybe using AppleScript to compose a Bounce Reply?
Been unsuccessful finding where the bounce header is stored.

  • Interest on Cheque Bouncing in AR Modude

    Hi Experts,
I have typical scenario regarding Cheque bouncing.
    Issue:
Interest on cheque bouncing: whenever the cheque bounce will happen at the time of realization, my client  will levy the interest on cheque bouncing  and charges  which should automatically post into system.
And client want to monitor the Cheque Deposit transaction on daily Basis.
The above both scenarios need to be captue in the system.
    Thanks&Regards,
    Dude

    Hi,
The problem in bounced check interest calculation is that system has to identify separatelt the line item of bounced check, which in normal entries seems very difficult. This is because we reverse the payment line item in customer , hence customer account does not contain any open entry for check. You can adopt one wokaround, but check the feasibilty of it in reporting tems.
When a check bounces you can use special gl account to reverse the entry. Thus instead of reversing  it to normal customer account line item you will take it to special gl account. Effectively your customer balance will tally when you look at it including special gl. Also you can define interest terms for this special gl line item in configuration.
This workaround requires constant monitoring of the balances in special gl and its corresponding entries in main gl. To make it easy you can use assignment field to record customer code and check number.
Check deposit can be monitored on daily basis by checking the bank incoming account and check bounced report can be taken from the above customer special gl account.
    Regards
    Milind.

  • Quicktime will only play my video once

When I download a video sent to me via my FTP server, quicktime will only play it once. If I try again it will post a message saying something along the lines of "Quicktime is unable to open this file" because it's not a format it recognized. The files were made on a Mac and were exported with quicktime pro as a "export for web" changing the file extension from .m4v to .mov. Also when I upload it to youtube, the audio does not get uploaded. Could it be that changing the file extension is creating all these problems? If so, how can I get around it? What setting could I use to export a small version of the quicktime as an .mov comparable to the web export?

Unfortunately this will not help you much, but I discovered this problem on my XP Media Center box AND my Vista laptop. It happened around the same time. All of a sudden, QT movies would only play once. I'd close the browser and it would work again, just once. I use Safari and Firefox as well...guess what, they both work fine. So there is a work around...don't use IE. I do get a QT plugin error though, it says the plugin did not initialize. Seeings that it used to work fine and stopped on both machines at the same time, I'm assuming it was some update, but using Safari or Firefox is quicker and easier than troubleshooting IE...
