Way to "anchor" item in a Region Footer so it doesn't move relative ...

Now: Is there a way to "anchor" and item in a Region Footer so it doesn't move relative to the footer when the IE window is resized?
Was: Stop Region Footer Items from moving to Header when IE window is resized?
Using APEX 4.0.x under Oracle 11.2.y on Unix displaying to Windows 7.
I use #TIMING# in a Region Footer of a chart where it displays in the lower left-hand corner. The chart slightly more than fills the window so I want to shrink it. But when I change the "zoom level" of the IE window (under IE 8.0.7601.17514) to say, 96%, the timing value (e.g., 0.02) displayed moves from below the chart at the left to above the chart on the right-hand side. ???
Is there java / html that can be put in the Region Footer field with #TIMING# to prevent this?

It sounds like you are not running the latest software. Connect to itunes. Go to the summary screen for your ipod and check what version of the software it says you are running. If it does not say 1.1, then you need to update.
If it says 1.1, then I would suggest restoring.
If you are running the 1.1 version of the software, if you hold the larger "Sleep/Wake" button down for a few seconds, it should shut down the nano.

Items align in region

Hi all,
I have 2 regions in my application one is html form region and another is tabular form .
I created 6 items in html region and created DA for the items to hide according to the value of items and then created tabular form

once i select the first item(declaration letter) it will show the second item (applicacable) perfectly,but when i select applicable as yes and discrepancy then all the items become misplaced,

Sorting items in a region with more than one column

I have an item region that is set up to have 2 columns. When I sort by title, the items are re-sorted in alphabetical order from left to right and then down. This is not very intuitive. Is there a way to have it sort from top to bottom and then left to right so that they will be in order as you read down a single column? Right now my work around is to create two regions without banners side by side and then manually put the items in order. Thanks.

unfortunately you cannot change the sort order in a way that the items are first sorted down on the first column and then continued in second column.

Anchored items size with javascript

Hi all,
I try to get the size of an item in my InDesign page, with the function geometricBounds.
It causes a problem when my item is anchored to another one : I only get the bounds of the main item and not the anchored one (see the red arrow in the sreenshot).
I can't detect the second item with script, because it isn't a real item, just an anchored item to the other one. I can't make a group with these two items neither.
If I export an image file for this item, I get the main item and the anchored one.
Is there a solution to get the size of the whole object ?

Can you select the second item in InDesign?
Can you see an anchor point for this object anywhere in fextFrame?
Anchored items are as much real as standalone ones. There is only a different way to refer to them.
Determine if this arrow is an anchored object in fact.
Starting from attached doc view (textFrame selected) your arrow geoBounds supposed to be:
app.selection[0].splineItems[0].geometricBounds;
...if arrow is anchored there indeed.

Hi Colin,
there is no need to create additional items to increase spaces.
Beter way to do this ( increase space between two items ) is:
1. In form - go to Edit Page Item of the second item which folows the first one and put in the HTML Table Cell Attributes something like that: style="width:150";
That increase label colon of the second item. You must be attentive that the value must be greater than the text in label of second item is.
2. In report - go to Page Definition -> Report Attributes -> Column Attributes ( of your column ) and than put in the CSS Sytle of Column formating section something like this: width:150px. In this way you would increase you field and in the same way increas space between the columns in report.

Yes, that would be an excellent enhancement!
I was just struggling with getting a "Display as" item (showing the total of the report) under a report. There was no way, it always displayed above the report, even with "Horizontal / Vertical Alignment: right bottom".
This post made me try to move the region from "Display Point: Page Template Body (3)" to "Display Point: Page Template Body (2)". Now it works fine...

Yes, I had brought this up more than a year ago. This would allow us to use a WYSIWYG HTML editor to design a region template with #ITEM_NAME# substitutions in it and items with those names would be plopped into those positions.

I'm having trouble finding a solution which I hope turns out to be fairly simple. Here's my problem:
I often make drum beats from audio files that looks something like this:
What I'd like to know is if there is a way to highlight say all of the snare audio regions and snap or quantize the "audio region start" to the nearest beat or division. I've been looking everywhere and I just can't seem to find a way to do it to multiple regions at once. It seems like somehting that should maybe be fairly simple. Turning "Flex" on doesn't work as that quantizes the transients as opposed to just the start of each audio region.
The reason I ask is that sometimes when zooming in fully, it turns out some of the regions are not exactly on the grid line.
I hope I made sense there and I'd appreciate any help. Many thanks in advance.

You may face challenges doing this task in Acrobat .
If you have created the PDF from word ,I would recommend doing the page numbering in Word, not Acrobat, since you have more flexibility with that program.

Unable to create item under a region

I wanted to create a item under one region in a seeded page. When I went to Personalize page, next to the region where I need to create the item, I don't see the "Create Item" button. But for the other regions I see that button. Any ideas what could be done to enable this?

It could be a dynamic region itself or a region extended.
If its a dynamic region, you will have to do Controller extension to extend it.

ii) Now what I need to do that item - Check Box need to be created on a region of page based on Col2.
In this case, Check Boxes should be created as below when Col1 is "1":

Computation in between items in a region

As soon as i enter 10 in item1 and 20 in item2 then item3 needs to be pupulated with the total of it.
Could any one guide me the processs of doing this.

Adjusting width anchored item

Hi,
I need to adjust the width of anchored items in Indesign CS3 (MAC).
When importing a lot of mathtype eps in an Indesign layout, we find that the box containing the mathtpye formula is a bit wide. We can't figure out if or how to correct this in mathtype. So, is this possible in Indesign?
Is it possible to make a script that searches the document for an anchored item, and cuts of a certain amount of the box, i.e. make it a bit smaller. Or, even better, can you cut of a certain amount of both sides of the box? We can not scale the box, that would scale the contents to.
Can anyone help me? The document contains several thousands of eps's, the thought of adjusting them manually.....

It's a basis so you may need to improve it regarding to your needs.
But it seems to be efficient if you have non grouped text frames (the script will run anyway, but will ignore groups).
If you have groups, you can add a loop for condireing them but it's up to you.
I don't know if it will be strong enough for thousand pages but have a try and let me know.
