Way to change all page links to 'fit page' view?

Hi, I'm working on a PDF document which has about 130 pages. The person who initially created all the index page links via a clickable menu item set the page view to a custom one which means the pages show at varying sizes when clicked and the page displayed. I want them all to be 'fit page' but as far as I know to do that I'm going to have to edit each link via properties and change it manually.

No, there is no simple way to change all pages at once. I use exactly the same method as you are doing now. Having proper user definable templates is on my wish list for future releases of iWeb.

Replacing nav bar--is there a way to change all pages at once?

I widened my site off of an iweb template and now the nav bar looks bad since it's too narrow and there is text that appears outside of the nav bar background. Since I can't change the color or looks of the nav bar, I've decided to put my own on top of it. This means if I have any changes down the line, I have to change the nav bar on every page. I have a page that nothing is linked to where I save graphic elements, so I can copy it, and paste on each page--a hassle when you have 50+ pages, and no idea how many pages I'll have in the end. IT was nice to have the automatic nav bar and header/footer, but boy how stupid to not be able to edit them unless you're a tech geek and understand all the coding!!

What is the proper way to change a url link?

I need to tell DW to change all url links (on all pages) going to an old url to a new url. What is the proper way to do this? thanks.

Did you even read my reply properly?
'Defining a site' in DW has everything to do leveraging most functionality with FUNDAMENTALS of DW usage.
'Change links sitewide' is an option within DW that will change links across sites by replacing an old link with a new - for DW to do this for more than just ONE FILE in your site, DW has to know what other files make up your site. This is why 'Defining a site' is critical.
If you do feel otherwise, please go ahead and wait for somebody else (an expert) to post his views on this. Let's see what they have to say.
Either which way, I really think you should change your attitude while posting on this forum. That will not only help you, but all of us here.

If you have Pages '08, then you also have Numbers '08, which supports the LOWER() function.
Copy/paste your text into column B of a Numbers table, starting at B2
In cell C2, enter the formula =LOWER(B2).
Fill down to the last row containing text in column B.
Select the cells of converted text in column C. Copy
Go back to your Pages document and go Edit > Paste Values.
Unlike the Pages menu item (in the Format menu), which formats the text to display as lower case, the LOWER() Function does an actual conversion. The function works only in a table. It is probably supported in Pages tables as well as in tables in Numbers, but I haven't checked that.

All of a sudden all the links in my page enlarge 100% and turn white when clicked

Hi - This is my first website and I have learned so much, but now I have a very irritating problem that I'm sure can be fixed by deleting a few lines of code, but I have no idea what to look for. All of a sudden all the links on one page of my site started turning white and enlarging almost 100% when you click on them. We page is at www.goEarthWorX.com/products. It happens to all the links on my page, and now there are weird white lines around one of the top products' names as well. Any help in what is going on would be very appreciated, as the site is almost complete and now I have this problem I just can't figure out on my own. Thank you so much!

Changing all CSV link labels

Hi there
In my Apex3 application I have a number of reports that can be exported to CSV format. Unfortunately, some link labels read Spread Sheet and some read Spreadsheet.
The user wants consistency, so I want to change all links to Spreadsheet (which is the correct spelling I think). Is it possible to do so without having to manually modify each report? Like an update on the underlying tables:
update report_definition set link_label = 'Spreadsheet' where link_label = 'Spread Sheet'
where application_id = 123
Is it safe to do this? Is there any other method do to such bulk update?

Maybe some one else can pipe up with a solution, but this would literally take 2 seconds to do for a new project. And you can create a "template project" that includes this "text" clip. Save this project and then to a get info and check "stationary pad." When you double click on this file, fcp will open with a copy of this project and you just need to do a save as.
I've been working with computer editing systems for longer than i can remember and at a certain point you just have to adapt your workflow to the limitations of the software.

Yes.
Click on the footnotes in Pages ’09 or v5.2.2.
In Pages ’09, in the Document Inspector, there is a section called Footnotes & Endnotes.
In Pages v5.2.2, a new Footnotes tab will appear.

How to hide standard page links on oaf page

hello buddies,
on the oaf page header section we have links like: "Navigator" , "Favorites" , "Home" , "Logout" , "Preferences" ..etc
also, we have some links on the footer section like : "Privacy Statement" , "Home" , "Logout" , "Preferences" and copy right.
I want to remove all these links on my custom page except for "Home" and "Logout" is this possible?

May be you need to remove the the links from the global Menu, ICX_STANDARD_GLOBAL_MENU or the related global menu in that page.

Page breaks and 'Fit Page in Window' option

This may seem a stupid question but indulge me: when I add a page break InDesign is only showing me the very top of the text frame on the page the cursor has moved to. How do I get InDesign to honour the 'Fit Page to Window' option when I add page breaks? Do I really have to keep hitting command-0?

It does like to go exactly to the first line of the next page. It's not very intuitive.
However, you can hold down Alt and scroll the page up.
Or while holding alt - click and hold anywhere on the page. It will zoom out. Move the red box where you want to Zoom to, then release the mouse.
Or you could press Return a few times then delete the returns.

Crazy idea here. I have a Flash CS3/AS2 project that when burned on DVD (as Data) exposes many files and folders to users that I would prefer they didn't have access to. All the user needs to see is "START.EXE" and "START.app".
I know I probably should have built the project like that from the beginning but that is a long gone opportunity and now I'm looking for options.
If I try to make the files/folders "hidden" (Toast 9 lets me do that) then Windows doesn't see them to launch the project... it only sees START.EXE.
If I put all the files inside another folder (_FILES) and then make a shortcut to the EXE for WinXP, and an alias to the APP for Mac outside that folder... it only works on the Mac. WinXP launches only START.EXE... and is unable to see/find any of the rest of the files that make the project.
I want to show the user only the START files - nothing else. All the other files should be concealed in some way or put in another directory.
There are a few ways to work this on the Mac side but not the WinXP (and probably other WIndows OSs)
Is there an AS2 way to accomplish this ??

Check if the text captions all use the same object style (perhaps Default Caption Style)? If yes, change one of the Text Captions and choose then Apply this to all objects with ... (icon in the center, curved arrow). If you want to add more captions with the same style, be sure to save also this as the Default style (second icon, the diskette).

All the links on every page have been replaced by double underlined links that don't go where the links were supposed to go, how do i fix this?

I'm trying to navigate through a site which has links embedded on the page. These links are doubly underlined and do not go where the original link should go. They contain advertisements. I have uninstalled firefox and reinstalled and the problem persists. This renders every page with embedded links useless. What do I have to do to prevent these embedded links from being hijacked by this crap?

Is there a way to copy all missing links

Hi,
I have a document a client delivered with 128 missing links. Is there a way to copy the file names/paths to the clipboard all at one time, or do I have to do each one separately?

you can:
in the link panel options, check the "path" check box in the show column - column.
then go back, select all the missing links in the link panel, click the panel fly out menu, copy info>copy info for selected links.

Is there a way to convert bookmarks from opening as Fit Width size to Fit Page without doing each one individually?

I have a document that has a number of bookmarks already in it. I cannot figure out how to change their behavior when clicking on them unless I change each one one at a time. There are 822 pages and at least that many bookmarks. Any way to tell Acrobat to make them all open in a fit page view instead of the Fit Width they are in now? Save me a ton of time. Thanks for any help. Using Acrobat Pro XI on a Mac...standalone application...not in the cloud.

You can go to View> Zoom> Fit Width and the setting will be applied to the complete pdf.
