Way to combine sub-projects into master?

I had developed a master project and several sub-projects in
RH HTML for Webhelp. I may have a need to combine them all into one
project (rather than having the sub-projects). I know that you used
to be able to do this with RH for Word by importing the different
projects, but I do not see a way to do it with HTML. I tried to do
it but could only saw a way to create a new project by importing
one other project. Is it possible to import several
projects?

Hi paulajmarchese
You would do it by creating folders to organize things, then
right clicking the folders and choosing Import and pointing at the
files. Note that you probably won't be able to import a whole slew
at a time because of pathing limitations.

  • What is the best way to combine multiple projects into one?

My guess would be to turn them into compound clips and then make the transfer that way, but is that the only way?

You can merge Events from the file menu.
Select the Events,  File > Merge Events
You could also convert project timlines into CC timlines which would be saved in an Event.
Open project timeline, select all, copy and then paste into a CC timeline.

  • HT1451 I ripped a 2-cd album to iTunes on my PC.  It downloaded as 5 separate albums.  Is there a way to combine those back into one album?

I ripped a 2-CD album to iTunes on my PC.  It downloaded as 5 separate albums.  Is there a way to combine those back into the original one album?

Yes there is tho it may get pretty redundant if you have many 2-CD albums as i had once. Using the "control" key select all five albums. Right click the selected albums and select "Get Info". If this is your first time it may ask you if you are sure you want to edit multiple albums. Click "Yes". Fill in / affirm the correctness of the grid in fron of you. Check all of the boxes BUT THE TRACK #  BOXES AND ARTWORK . This will tell iTunes that all of the albums are one and the same. click "ok". One album with the correct title should appear. Select all the tracks that were on the second disk and again right click and select get info. enter into the disk # space "2" of "2". If your version of iTunes is up-to-date this will make it a 2 disk album. If you would like you get select "Get Info" again just to make sure all is good.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to add a project into master project by Powershell

How to add a master project and sub-projects powershell
I use project server 2013, I want inserting multiple sub-project plans into a project master

    Hello,
You can't do this directly in PowerShell using the PSI etc. as the PSI can't create master projects / insert subprojects. You could however do this in VBA if required or automate Project using PowerShell COM object.

  • Combining multiple projects into one larger project?

If I have multiple separate projects and now want to combine them, edits, titles and all into a larger project, is it possible? I expected that it might be possible to drag one project into another and place it intact onto the timeline for the new project. Since every combination of dragging a project around has evidently failed to accomplish what I'm expecting... is there a way to do this?

welcome phiphika to the  board…
in terms of convenience, I would indeed export/share all 6 movies.
    to tape, or as Quicktime/FullQuality…
both methods create a lossless copy of your final movie(s).
in step II, import all 6 project into a new iM project, as said above, you don't loose ay quality with that back'n forth copying... only some time ;-)… you can set then chapter markers etc....
besides, your workflow is as mine on larger projects: not 678 clips into one monstrous project of some dozends Gigabytes, just segments…

  • Is there a way to combine two projects?

I've videoed several sets of footage from related events that may be combined into a single DVD at some point, but which were long enough to stand on their own. However, they are currently being used in two separate projects. Is there any way to transfer edited clips from one project to another and still retain the editing that was done? One of these projects was done with 2 continuous cameras and the other with 3, so the amount of editing that would have to be done twice could be substantial. I'm currently using PE3.02 in Vista. Thanks!

With the timeline selected, go to File/Export/Movie and export each as a DV-AVI video.
You can then combine those AVIs into a new project with virtually no loss of quality.

  • A way to combine adjacent clips into one, as in Pro Tools - "Consolidate?"

Is there any way, in a multitrack project, to combine adjacent clips, incorporating crossfades, etc.? For instance, in cutting ambience onto the beginning of a clip of dialogue, to be able to consolidate the clips so as to do a "fade-in across the cross-fade" (without having to rubber-band the envelope).

I didn't look at STP when I replied. Don't see a glue tool, anywhere. Anyone else?

  • Combining multiple projects into one?

from a recent vacation i have imovie projects for each city, 6 in all, each being between 2:45 and 5 minutes long. i did each in its own project to keep clips organized better, but when the final project plays, i want the cities to run one after the other, without kicking out to the menu everytime. basically what im asking is is there a way to merge these seperate projects into one, or do i have to compress each and then make a totally new imovie from that?

  • How do I combine multiple projects into one project

I have about 35 movie projects made in iMovie 11 that I want to combine into about 8 movie projects.  What's the best way to do this?

If you want those Media Browser versions they are 'squirreled away' or 'hidden' should I say in the the .rcproject file I think. That project file is in the following location:
Mac HD > Users > (your home folder) > Movies > iMovie Projects > <CTRL> + click on the project name then choose Show Package Contents. This will reveal the folders in thercproject container. The movies will be in the movies folder.

  • Combining iMovie projects into a longer iMovie project

I have built a bunch of iMovie '08 projects and would like to combine some of them into a larger new iMovie project. I know how to drag movie events and photos to the new project, but do not see how to drag projects to the new project.
I already tried building the new project in iDVD without good results so it was suggested that I build it in iMovie. Can anyone help me out?
    Thanks

There does not appear to be a way of merging projects together without a lot of manual work involved.
I have tried all the options that I would have expected to work (as I suspect you have), but as you say you only appear to be able to move the video from one project to another in one copy/paste. Then you need to do the other items separately (audio etc).
Perhaps a suggestion here for the next release:

  • Combining iDVD projects into one.

I have a few videos I burned from iMovieHD to iDVD 5 and now I want to combine them in pairs on one DVD, using a master menu that lets you select which video you want to watch. How can I do this? I dont have the iMovie files anymore and I didn't burn a disc image of iDVD to the hard drive. I mean, it should be able to do it, right? iDVD created the videos, it should be able to read them again to create new ones. Why would it create files that it cant read later? Any help on combinning multiple iDVD videos to one would be great! Thanks!
    jt burke

You need the original movies to make a new DVD. iDVD references your movies wherever you have them stored; delete those movies and you now have broken links.
A disk image references an iDVD project. The content of that original project. It is only used to burn new copies of that project; you can't modify a disk image.
iDVD didn't "create" the movies; iMovie did. iDVD just references those movies.
Your only hope here would be to rip your movies from the disc, using something like Streamclip or DVxDVD or by a pass thru solution ... doing that, though, you would likely take a quality hit.
Once you ripped the movies to iMovie you could create a new iDVD project

  • Anyone have experience with combining several projects into one?

I have four separate projects (they're actually four sections of one movie) I want to combine into one so I can burn them all together onto one DVD.
The separate discs run approximately 29:00, 29:00, 24:00 and 13:00, for a combined total time of about 1 hour and 35 minutes.
Now, on the blank DVDs I'm using, it says you can put up to 2 hours of video on them. But I've had people tell me that it's really not a good idea to put more than an hour of video on one disc. (The total size would be 12.4 GB (4GB/3GB/5 GB/0.4 GB), and the disc says that it holds 4.7 GB. But I was told by someone that the size doesn't matter, it's the amount of time that does.)
I'm a bit nervous about combining everything, because when I was first working on this movie, I had it all together in one project, and right before I was finished with it, the Circling Pinwheel of Doom arose and never went away. I never figured out what happened, but I have a feeling it was because the project was so big. Nothing the people at the Apple Store did made it work, and they deduced the file was corrupted or something, and I had to start all over again.
(That's why I separated it into four sections this time.)
So I'm just wondering if anyone else out there has been down this road, and can give me some good words about what or what not to do. Thanks.

I spoke with AppleCare and they gave me good advice on how to do this.

  • Is there a new easier way to combine all calendars into one?

    This is a two-part question...
I was wondering if anyone had found an easier way to do this instead of exporting a calendar and importing into a main calendar, and repeating untill all calendars were in one. I have 8 calendars on my computer, but then another 11 on iCloud. These were done over years and had I known how confusing it would get I would never had created more than one or two. I would assume the iCloud calendars with the same names as my computer calendars would be sync'd and have same info?
But also, in many of these calendars I have multiple entries. "Doctor appointment at 3:00"... Maybe 8 times on one particular day. Those multiples are scattered about through all calendars. It's a mess! lol! Is there a way to globally delete duplicate entries on the same day and time? Or must that be a manual task?
Any help someone could give me would be greatly appreciated, and Thank You in advance!!
    Earth Guest

Okay, I realized it wouldn't take much time to export and import all those calendars into a new all-inclusive calendar, so I've done that. One at a time I exported each calendar to a folder on my desktop. Then I made the new calendar and imported from that "exported" folder, each cal that I exported. I wonder how confident I can be that everything came into the new calendar? I mean, it went back to 2006 or so.
I want to delete all the old calendars. If I do that, will iCloud delete those calendars as well, or do I have to manually delete them from iCloud or it will sync and add back to my computer what I had just deleted? I guess iCloud will update and sync to the new single calendar?
I know I'm asking a lot of questions. I'm just scared of losing years of records of dates I may need to remember. I'm not a very technical person (as you may have guessed :-)!

  • Using LR 5 on Mac w/ OS 10.9 have several catalogs on several externals with some duplicates and file name changes due to using NIK, elements, LR, etc.  would like to combine or merge into "master" catalogue

II'm new to forums so be kind and I'm also 70 years old so explain simply.

Hi rushbo. I am of the opinion that it is much better to save as much information with the files. Use Lightroom to organize and process the images, but keep the data with the images when possible. (There are tradeoffs to this approach, mostly speed and complexity, but it means that there is one place to look for information about a file, even if you have multiple catalogs).
If you agree with this, first read What Is Not Included In Lightroom XMP Files | Lightroom Fanatic to see what data is not saved.
Then I would go from the oldest to the newest catalog, and for each turn on "Catalog settings:automatically write changes into xmp" and then save the metadata for all the files in the catalog (Select All; Save Metadata).  You might also want to choose "Delete Rejected Files" to get rid of them permanently.
Do this for each catalog, and at the end every image will have the settings from the latest catalog (earlier values will be overwritten).
Then create a new catalog and import the files. This will bring in every image in your directory tree (wherever you store images on your disk). It might even discover some images that aren't in your catalogs. And each image will have the latest data. Finally archive your old catalogs "just in case".
This process can be slow, so put on a movie...
