  • Is there a way to convert REASON's .sxt files to LOGIC's .exs format???

Is there a way to convert REASON's .sxt files to LOGIC's .exs format???
From the NNXT sampler file format to the EXS24 format???

I have done it manually, and it takes a long time just for 1 patch.
Just the sample editing and naming takes hours!
    Autosampler automates this process.
You can define how many velocity levels you need.
If a midi CC changes the sound in an interesting way, you can have Autosampler send the controller in increments and sample that.
At the end of it, you end up with a finished EXS instrument.

  • Corrupt backup file (.bbb) - missing manifest

    Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a corrupt backup file.  I did a full backup, followed by a factory reset on my Blackberry.  After the reset, I wanted to restore some of the data from the backup (contacts, ring profiles, messages, etc).  When I try to restore, it says the backup file may be corrupt and won't even let me choose individual databases to try to restore.
I discovered that you can open the .bbb file with programs like WinRAR or 7zip and see the contents.  My backup contains a "pkginfo" file and folder full of the databases / .dat files.  I ran another backup after the factory reset and compared it to my original backup.  The Desktop software would allow me to restore that backup, but it doesn't have any of my data so it's no good to me.  I opened that one with WinRAR also and discovered it has a "manifest.xml" file that my first backup doesn't have.  The manifest file looks to be an index of what each of the .dat files is associated with.  I tried copying that manifest file into my original backup file, but it still didn't work to restore.  The number of .dat files are different between the backups and I don't think the index numbers match for even individual files such as my contacts.
Is there any way to recreate the "manifest.xml" that should have been in my first backup?  Maybe a program that can read all the .dat files and decipher what they are so the index numbers can be matched up to the correct databases?
    Thanks,
    Andy

  • PB backup file (bbb) not listed when trying to 'Select a backup file to restore'

I am running Desktop Manager 7.1.0.32.
I backed up my PB and an upgrade to 2.0.1.358 wiped out all the data and apps on my PB.
When I try to restore, the backup file is not listed for me to select to restore. Backup path is correct.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you in advance!

Not necessarily. In v7x they changed the BlackBerry backups to bbb but the Playbook was always bbb. it used to be that bbb files from the Playbook were merely .zip files and it was possible to change the extension and then unzip the files and see what was in it. I think that has changed but the bbb extension didn't change.

  • Is there a way to view contacts in backup files? Switched carries and stuck without old contacts.

I just switched carriers from AT&T to Verizon. I had the iPhone4 on AT&T but couldnt get service where we just relocated to. So, we made the switch today. I backed up my old phone one last time early last week, put it on eBay and sent it out the door last thursday. So to my surprise, i am just finding out that the verizon phone is not able to restore my old data from the backup i made (i should have looked into this a little more obviously...). I didn't write down any of my contacts from the old phone thinking they would all be backed up once i got the new one. Now I'm stuck without years of contacts! So, is there a way to view the contacts somehow in the backup files that iTunes created the last time i backed up my AT&T phone so I can at least manually enter them?? I sure hope there is something I can do. I'd hate to lose that many years of valuable business connections.
Thanks for any info in advance. It is much appreciated.

If you  followed the instructions in the manual you would have configured Contacts to sync to an app on your computer such as Outlook or Address Book. Then all you would have to do is set the new phone to sync with the same app on the computer. If you didn't do this you are probably out of luck, although there are some 3rd party apps that can extract data from the backup if it is not encrypted.

  • Is there an easy way to convert and import MTS files from a external hardrive so that I can edit them in FCP?

I am trying to convert game footage that is in MTS format to something that I can edit into a quick highlights video. I have final cut express and the standard IMovie '09. looking for easiest solution, everything seems to involve using one application to convert to Quicktime and then dropping file into Iphoto etc. is there an easy way?

I'm not completely sure that MPEG Streamclip can convert AVCHD footage (.mts files).  If MPEG Streamclip doesn't do the job, then get a copy of Clipwrap, which was designed for transcoding .mts files to QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec (that's the format/codec you need to convert the .mts files to for use in FCE).

  • What is the safest way to convert a CS5.5 file to CS6?

At the agency I work at, we've recently had issues with information loss in documents when opening a CS5.5 file in CS6 and vice versa. So, is there a better way to convert besides saving a CS5.5 .INDD file as a .IDML to open in CS6? And if not, is there a way to compare either the .INDD/.IDML files or the exported .PDFs without having to go line-by-line on every page?

I've found Acrobat Pro's document compare feature very useful for some jobs, and irritating for others.  One of its modes amounts to light-tabling the two documents, but I usually want a text compare, most recently of a 450-pp. book, where the 250-pp. max. meant I had to do it in two chunks.  Acrobat 9 seems happier with more RAM: I learned not to approach the 250-pp. max on my Vista64 machine with 8 GB, but the package seems more reliable on my Win7 machine with 16 GB.  It often generates quite a few false positives, which take getting used to.  Versions 7 and 8, if I recall correctly, would place the pages side-by-side, which I prefer; version 9 can still be made to do this, I'm note sure about X.

  • Looking for BlackBerry IPD backup file Category Descriptions

    Hi everyone,
For the life of me; I can't seem to find a listing of the category descriptions listed within an *.IPD backup file.
What I'm essentially trying to do, is isolate the sound (alert) schemes and *NOT* have the backup file wipe out the original default schemes that are loaded with a clean install of the BlackBerry Device Software.  Also, having the description list would come in VERY handy for future restores!
Thanks in advance to anyone who can point me in the right direction.
    Thank you!
    Bobby Kidd

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Hmmm...Category Descriptions...I'm not quite positive what that is...perhaps it's the databases? If so, here's a KB that lists those:
KB03974List of all databases on the BlackBerry smartphone
I'm guessing your attempting a selective restore of certain databases rather than a complete restore. What happens, though, is indeed complete database replacement...whatever the database is that is on the device is replaced by what is in the IPD file. For some databases, there are tricks to merging data that can be undertaken -- mostly for messages, calendar, contacts, and tasks...the standard "organizer" databases, but I know of no method to merge any of the configuration databases (as the alert profiles are).
    Good luck!

  • PLEASE HELP - Unable to restore all messages from my backup file (.bbb) - 21800 messages and I need them all

    Hi.
This is not the first time I encountered this issue. The backup file itself is 18.5MB in size. The critical stuff is my 21800 messages (emails for 7 different email accounts). Whenever I do a restore, the DM only reads 13859 messages and unfortunately not in reverse order. So I end up with no emails for the last 7 months! BIG PROBLEM for me! I have done a selective restore. I have done a complete wipe and then a full restore (no success), then deleted all data and tried a selective restore and only selected the messages (still only around 13,500 messages).
There appears to be a limitation around the 13500 mark for messages.
    PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help.

It's been a while since I used Apple's Backup, but you should be able to select "Restore" from within the app to find an iCal backup file. When you find your most recent backup file restore it to your main computer. An iCal backup should look like this: "iCal - 10/31/06.icbu". Once you have the file you can just double click on it and iCal will open and give a warning about overwriting your current database file. You can just select "Revert" to overwrite the current file since you have nothing in it now. Everything should then go back to the state it was in since your last backup. You might lose some of your most recent entries if they were not in the backup, but you should get back most of what you lost. Good Luck!!

  • Any .trm file players for mac -- or a way to convert them to wma files

I have some .trm files that I need to play, but right now they are only working in my windows partition. I'd like to know if there are any .trm file players for OS X or any software that can convert these trm files to an mp3 or wma file that will play on the mac partiton. I use a free program called express scribe to listen to recordings on my mac, but it won't play .trm files, and I'd like to continue to ues the mac partition instead of having to use Windows, which I hate with a passion.  Can anyone help me?
I'm using Snow Leopard as well.

Okay, there are a few ways to do this using older versions of ForTheRecord's player software.  Probably the most direct is (if you the ability to run Windows or to access a machine running Windows), download and install the older version 5.4.2 (the file is named Player542setup.exe) at http://community.fortherecord.com/index.php?/files/file/725-therecord-player-542 -old-version-player542setupexe
Once you install this player, you should be able to play your trm file.  When you click on the "Save a Copy to" button (just to the left of the rewind button on the player, it will bring up a small window with options that include "Save format" and you can select "Windows Media" which will save the file to .wma format.  This might be enough for you.  I however, prefer working with mp3 files and then take the wma file and convet it using All2MP3.
I wish you luck.  This company is not only Mac hostile, but they appear to be desperately clinging to an older business model that rewards tricks and gimmicks and fake excuses to keep their "propriatry" and inferrior software limitations - so that they can hold clients hostage.  Anyway....
I too have not come across this in some time.  I run a small business administering law firms and a staff of paralegals and we all generally use Macs and have virtually no problem with any service these days.   Whether it is our large prominent client or our small sole practitioner - Macs have been our choice - and this headache with trm files is a rareity.  Thankfull, the software the Court's normally use allows a straight to mp3 conversion, unlike this second intermediate step we have to take with your files.
    Good luck.

  • Anyone got a quick way to convert 1,158 AppleWorks files to MSWord?

    Welcome. Lion.
    I think.
Before that happens I have 1,158 old AppleWorks files I need to be  able to consult, after Lion.
So I need to convert them all to something that's going to be readabile in Lion.
Some are Word Processing files, some are databases, some are drawing files, and some are spreadsheets.
Does anyone have a quick fix for this?
    TIA

as babowa says, iWorks will open Word Processing and Spreadsheets in Pages and Numbers respectively.
Databases are a different kettle of fish. There currently isn't a database application in iWork, and Numbers won't open them (just tried a few to be certain).
There is a database app called Bento from Filemaker which apparently can open Appleworks database files, but it appears you have to change the file extensions first. I can't make any recommendation as I've never tried it.
Drawing files will also likely need a third-party solution. I don't have any, so haven't looked around on that front, but I think I remember someone mentioning a couple in another thread some time ago. Hopefully they'll spot this one and wade in to help.
As for batch conversions - might be possible with AppleScript or Automator, but I'll leave that to others.

  • Is there a way to convert 24 bit tTIFF files to 8 bit JPEGS

Many months ago I scanned several hundred slides into TIFF format. When I look at the details of the file, they have a bit depth of 24. Is there any way to use Elements 6 to save these files to JPEG format with only an 8 bit colour depth?

24 bit is 8 bit. When a file says it is 24 bit they mean 8 bit x three color channels=24 bit. Most scanners say it that way. Adobe is more honest and just calls it 8 bit.

  • Any way to convert my MS Word files so I can view them in Lion?

Upgraded to Lion, then found that I couldn't open any Word files.
My Word app is a PowerPC app, which I migrated from my old Power Book G4.
I'd just like to be able to view them in Rich Text Format.

OS 10.9 Mavericks will let you download OpenOffice, but the OS won't let you run it. You get a message that says it won't open because it's not from a trusted source. It's not in the App Store.
I found I could open old PPC MS Word '98 files on my 2006 Core Duo MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8. That OS has Rosetta which will run PPC apps, and even when running an Intel version of MS Word on that machine, the files would open. So you don't actually need to run the PPC app.

  • Is there a way to convert negatives into digital files

I am trying to scan in some old negatives. Can I use photoshop elements to convert them?

    This Apple doc may help:
iWeb: Tips for making text appear consistent in all browsers
Alternatively, you could take a _screen shot_ of your text and use the resulting graphic in your iWeb page. Note: If you hold down the Command and Shift keys and press 4, Mac OS X turns the cursor into crosshairs you can use to select whatever portion of your display you’d like to capture in a screen shot.

  • Can I use OWB to convert a fix-delimitted file to a csv file?

Hi! anyone tried this before? source file is in fixed-length file and target should be a csv file.
    thanks in advance,
    carlo
    OWB 10r2

    It's quite simple.
1.Generate 2 file objects in the OWB design that represent the 2 files. One configured as fixed-length, the other as csv.
    2. Design an external table based on your input file object
    3. Design a mapping that maps from the external table into the 2nd (csv) file object
    4. Configure file names as desired
    5. Deploy external table, connector(s) and mapping to DB
    6. Execute the mapping
    There you go...
