Hello,
Your going to want to use Oracle interMedia http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/intermedia/index.html there was a session at OW that dealt specifically with using interMedia and APEX together but I'm not sure the sample application or powerpoint is out there maybe someone else knows.

picture size...in putting together a book I can move photos onto a page and enlarge the picture but is there a way to reduce the picture size? some cases I want a smaller picture and if I change the size of the picture box I only get a portion of the image. I want to reduce the image to fit the size of the box.

    If you right click on the image on the page in the context menu select photo box alignment and then select one of scale to fit {centered, Left-aligned, Right-aligned}
That should do what you are loking for.

  • Do we have some way to reduce Dimension table size using NLS?

      Initially we thought the Cube
archive in NLS would be like:
Replicate Cube in NLS with DAP.  DAP creation will create a new structure same like "Star Schema".
While we load data to NLS it deletes from DB.
And hence it reduced size of the DB.
Associated Dimensions will also be replicated in the NLS.
After actually implementation we found :
Fact table size is reducing and DB size with associated E/F fact table is reducing
Dimension tables are still there in DB, and still saving space in DB.
Do we have some other way to reduce Dimension table size using NLS?
As when we are analyzing top 100 tables in SAP BW, we are seeing multiple dimensions are part
    of this list.
    Thanks,

    Hi IndianLamp,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
Based on your issue, you mean that you want t reduce the installation size of the version of VS Preview, am I right?
If yes, I know that when we download the version of the VS Preview from the Microsoft Official, it is default that the install package size. However, you can try to unselect some components during the installation, it will reduce the installation size of

  • Image size changes when moving an image between Lightroom and CC.

Image size changes when moving an image between Lightroom and CC.
I opened a .dng image in LR and then opened it in the Develop module.  I clicked on Crop Overlay and then on the ‘As Shot’ drop down menu (the lock is closed) and cropped to 11 x 17 and clicked ‘Done’-.
I click Cntl-E and the image opens in CC.  There I click on Image > Image Size and the Image Size  is 13.288 inches by 20.533 inches.
Why does the image size change?
I believe there is a menu to control the size of the image and I've looked everywhere I can think of in LR and CC, I googled various descriptions and I checked two of Scott Kelby's books, but I just can't figure out how to keep the image a consistent size when moving between LR and CC.
    Help!...Please?

The penny will drop soon or maybe the cloud will lift.
In Lightroom all editing is undoable/nondestructive.
Hence a crop of 3x2 is not inches, centimetres, pixels or anything else. It is jst a ratio. When a file is exported, either to PS or disk, then the crop ratio has size determined in respect of pixels and inches or cms.
So my 6000x5000 pixel image I will crop to 3x2 that leaves (before exporting) a 6000x4000 file.
Now when exported it can be set to export at
100pixels per inch and will end up at 60x40" when printed.
200pixels per inch will end up at 30x20"
    300ppi will end at 20x13.3"
You will notice in the Crop Tool there are no size denominations such as inches or centimetres as an image file only has pixels and the determination of size is done through exporting or printing.
    Hope that helps somewhat..

  • A simple and free way of reducing PDF file size using Preview

Note: this is a copy and update of a 5 year old discussion in the Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard discussions which you can find here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/6109398#6109398
This is a simple and free solution I found to reduce the file size of PDFs in OS X, without the high cost and awful UI of Acrobat Pro, and with acceptable quality. I still use it every day, although I have Acrobat Pro as part of Adove Creative Cloud subscription.
Since quite a few people have found it useful and keep asking questions about the download location and destination of the filters, which have changed since 2007, I decided to write this update, and put it in this more current forum.
Here is how to install it:
Download the filters here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/41548940/PDF%20compression%20filters%20%28Un zip%20and%20put%20in%20your%20Library%20folder%29.zip
Unzip the downloaded file and copy the filters in the appropriate location (see below).
Here is the appropriate location for the filters:
This assumes that your startup disk's name is "Macintosh HD". If it is different, just replace "Macintosh HD" with the name of your startup disk.
If you are running Lion or Mountain Lion (OS X 10.7.x or 10.8.x) then you should put the downloaded filters in "Macintosh HD/Library/PDF Services". This folder should already exist and contain files. Once you put the downloaded filters there, you should have for example one file with the following path:
    "Macintosh HD/Library/PDF Services/Reduce to 150 dpi average quality - STANDARD COMPRESSION.qfilter"
If you are running an earlier vesion of OS X (10.6.x or earlier), then you should put the downloaded filters in "Macintosh HD/Library/Filters" and you should have for example one file with the following path:
"Macintosh HD/Library/Filters/Reduce to 150 dpi average quality - STANDARD COMPRESSION.qfilter"
Here is how to use it:
Open a PDF file using Apple's Preview app,
Choose Export (or Save As if you have on older version of Mac OS X) in the File menu,
    Choose PDF as a format
In the "Quartz Filter" drop-down menu, choose a filter "Reduce to xxx dpi yyy quality"; "Reduce to 150 dpi average quality - STANDARD COMPRESSION" is a good trade-off between quality and file size
    Here is how it works:
These are Quartz filters made with Apple Colorsinc Utility.
    They do two things:
downsample images contained in a PDF to a target density such as 150 dpi,
enable JPEG compression for those images with a low or medium setting.
Which files does it work with?
It works with most PDF files. However:
It will generally work very well on unoptimized files such as scans made with the OS X scanning utility or PDFs produced via OS X printing dialog.
It will not further compress well-optimized (comrpessed) files and might create bigger files than the originals,
For some files it will create larger files than the originals. This can happen in particular when a PDF file contains other optomizations than image compression. There also seems to be a bug (reported to Apple) where in certain circumstances images in the target PDF are not JPEG compressed.
What to do if it does not work for a file (target PDF is too big or even larger than the original PDF)?
First,a good news: since you used a Save As or Export command, the original PDF is untouched.
You can try another filter for a smaller size at the expense of quality.
The year being 2013, it is now quite easy to send large files through the internet using Dropbox, yousendit.com, wetransfer.com etc. and you can use these services to send your original PDF file.
There are other ways of reducing the size of a PDF file, such as apps in the Mac App store, or online services such as the free and simple http://smallpdf.com
    What else?
Feel free to use/distribute/package in any way you like.

    Thanks ioscar.
The original link should be back online soon.
I believe this is a Dropbox error about the traffic generated by my Dropbox shared links.
I use Dropbox mainly for my business and I am pretty upset by this situation.
Since the filters themsemves are about 5KB, I doubt they are the cause for this Dropbox misbehavior!
Anyway, I submitted a support ticket to Dropbox, and hope everything will be back to normal very soon.
In the meantime, if you get the same error as ioscar when trying to download them, you can use the link in the blog posting he mentions.
This is out of topic, but for those interested, here is my understanding of what happened with Dropbox.
I did a few tests yesterday with large (up to 4GB) files and Dropbox shared links, trying to find the best way to send a 3 hour recording from French TV - French version of The Voice- to a friend's 5 year old son currently on vacation in Florida, and without access to French live or catch up TV services. One nice thing I found is that you can directly send the Dropbox download URL (the one from the Download button on the shared link page) to an AppleTV using AirFlick and it works well even for files with a large bitrate (except of course for the Dropbox maximum bandwidth per day limit!). Sadly, my Dropbox shared links were disabled before I could send anything to my friend.
I may have used  a significant amount of bandwidth but nowhere near the 200GB/day limit of my Dropbox Pro account.
I see 2 possible reasons to Dropbox freaking out:
    - My Dropbox Pro account is wronngly identified as a free account by Dropbox. Free Dropbox accounts have a 20GB/day limit, and it is possible that I reached this limit with my testing, I have a fast 200Mb/s internet access.
    - Or Dropbox miscalculates used bandwidth, counting the total size of the file for every download begun, and I started a lot of downloads, and skipped to the end of the video a lot of times on my Apple TV.

  • Change Image Size in existing Video Project?

First post, Premiere NOOB.  I have a Premiere Pro CS6 developed video that I had done for me for which I also got as part of the receivables all the component Premiere files so that, 1) I could make minor changes myself (I have CS6), and 2) if the developer was unavailable in the future (which is the case), I had everything needed to continue the project.
The video includes a Star Wars style screen crawl.  It was originally developed to fit inside an existing PowerPoint presentation in the traditional, not widescreen, format.  Now I want to post this on YouTube.  I have made text changes to the crawl and such and it works fine, except the background image is still narrow and thus there is black space on either side of the video when rendered, which also then shows in YouTube.  The original background image in the file is plenty large enough to cover a full HD width.  Is there a way to just expand the background image to cover the entire widescreen without changing anything else?
    TIA,
    Doug

  • Exporting a book to pdf - any way to reduce the file size?

    Hi,
So I have made a book using iPhoto and would like to send a pdf copy of it to another person who will fill in the texts. I am able to save the book as pdf via the print menu but the resulting file is over 300 mb in size (the book has only 20 pages)! On the one hand i like the fact that iPhoto is not downsampling my photos but it's a bit difficult trying to send a 300+ mb file over email Is there any way to create a pdf with the images compressed so i could send it as an attachment?

  • Is there a way to reduce the pixel size of multiple photos in a slideshow?

I have a Windows 7 computer and use Photoshop Elements 9 and Premiere Elements 9.  I recently completed a slideshow that contains about 360 photos, many or all of which exceed the maximum size of 1000 x 750 pixels.  Is there any way that I can easily reduce the pixel size of each of the photos?  If upgrading to the most recent versions of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements would help me accomplish this I would be willing to do this.  Thanks very much in advance for any advice or suggestions.

You can batch process your images to re-size them in the editor using the menu:
    File >> Process Multiple Files
Place your chosen photos in a separate folder and then choose a separate destination folder; so as not to overwrite the originals.

some index representation.Check out GameCanvas, TiledLayer and Sprite, there may be somthing there you can use.
Note -- I haven't used these myself, but I'm aware that they can show different frames from one png.
Also, there are at least 2 .png formats -- I am aware of PNG-8 and PNG-24. PNG-8 is considerably smaller.

  • Error message: incompatible image size when using IMAQ in image processing

I want to do low pass filter and convolution on an acquired image. When I connect the image to the VI, the message: incompatible image size appears. I have tried to set the border to 3 in IMAQ create, but it does not help. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

A couple things might be causing this problem-
    1) The convolution matrix is bigger than 7x7, or
    2) You have created an image, but there is not yet anything in the buffer
You can check number 2 by doing a winDraw window just before you do the convolution.

  • Unwanted image size change when moving a image it's Tab to another Tab in CC 2014

Hi, I opened a photo with a physical size 16"w 36"h. Since role paper comes in 24" width, I proceeded with expanding the canvas size to 24"w, height is unchanged at 36". Then I opened two photos in separate tabs in Photoshop, changed the image sizes to 8"w x 12"h. One Photo is from a 36megapixel camera and the other from a 16megapixel camera. Created two layers in the 24x36 image tab. Then I proceeded to copy each photo and paste in each of those layers (one image per layer in case you’re wondering). The problem is as follows, the copied images are larger when pasted into those layers, 10” wide and not 8”, 14”high and not 12”. Thinking maybe the canvas size had something to do with this, so I made that change. The result was the same, larger when pasted into those layers, 10” wide and not 8”, 14”high and not 12”. Could someone please advise what I’ve done wrong? Note, the ruler bars are visible. Thanks

When you bring one image into another, it is the pixel size that counts.  The physical size of the source image becomes irrelevant.

  • How to reduce the database size based on MS SQL/Oracle?

    Hi,
I had deleted severy clients via SCC5, but the database size is more and more bigger. Do you know how to reduce the database size.
my platform is: NT, MS SQL 2005
                           NT, Oracle 10.2
    Best Regards,
    Simon Shen

    Hi Simon,
In the case of SQL you need to check how many space free you have in your datafiles and the based on that you need to Shrink them using DBCC SHRINKFILE command.
Find a couple of reference docs here,
    http://www.intermedia.net/support/kb/default.asp?id=996
    http://doc.ddart.net/mssql/sql70/dbcc_21.htm
Also i'm pretty sure that if your check the properties of the datafiles in MSSQL Enterprise Manager you get a "Shrink" option.

  • A great tip for reducing PDF file sizes (e.g. from scanned images)

I just found, and used this tip and was so impressed I had to share it!

By the way, you can also easily combine pdfs using preview. Open the 'main' one that will be your final file. Go to View -> Sidebar. Drag the other pdfs that you want to join right into the side bar. It will just stack them on. Then save.

Since a while DIAdem optimizes the size of exported PDF-files in a related way as it is suggested here. In principle the PDF-file is exported in a very high resolution, so you can display it in a reader with a very high zoom value (e. g. 6000 %) to look into details of your data. If you have a huge dataset, this could lead in fact to a bigger file size, if data points could be displayed because the high PDF-resolution. But in general, DIAdem only saves information in a PDF-file which is really necessary - but with a high resolution.
