Ways to "Batch  delete"

Doing an Xmas clear out of old unwanted images (zero or 1 star in this case) so after using a smart set to identify them, I thin marked them as "rejected"
Trouble is they span many directories. Is there any way to "batch delete" them without having to go to each directory in turn to delete them?
(does anyone know WHY we cannot make changed like this from within smart sets? I can't understand the limitation)
Thanks in advance
edward

To delete from within a Collection/Smart Collection use the Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Option/Alt+Delete key combination

  • Batch delete the JPEG's from all my RAW/JPEG pairs?

What's the best way to batch delete the JPEG's from all my  RAW+JPEG pairs?
I have a 88k image library many of which are RAW+JPEG pairs.  I've got about 50GB's left on my 2TB internal hard drive and need to free up space.  I'm combing through the years worth of data attempting to clean it all up but I thought dumping the JPEG's would be a quick and easy gain.  Can anyone thing of a safe way to do this?  Creating an album of all my pairs is easy enough but I can't find a "delete JPEG" option.
    Thanks!

Again, another untested idea for you. You should try it with one image first and Please! make sure your library is backed up first.
Select the Photos group from the Library pane to show all photos in the browser.
Set your view to Browser only.
Clear any filters in the top right if they are set.
Click the Filter icon at the top right.
If it's not already there, add the rule for "File Type" using the popup menu.
Set the filter to show Filetype Is RAW+JPEG.
You are now looking at all of your RAW+JPEG pairs in your entire library.
Make sure all the images are set to RAW as Master.
Select all the photos (test just one first!) and File->Relocate Masters. Choose an external disk with enough room.
Once all the masters are moved out of the library to a new location (this could take awhile if you have many photos), Navigate to the new location of the masters and remove the JPEGs. Sort by filetype in the Finder to make it easier.
Back in Aperture, Select all the RAW+JPEG pairs in the filtered browser and choose File->Consolidate Masters. (Now that the JPEGs are gone, I don't know if Aperture will complain. That's why you should test this first on 1 image)
If this worked, you should now have only RAW masters in your library.
I repeat myself: I didn't test this. Please test on a fully backed up library on only 1 image first. Good luck.

  • Batch Delete Notes

By mistake, a Notes file from act was imported twice into Siebel, creating duplicate entries of every note in the file. Is there a way to batch delete notes from Siebel?
Edited by: Dani Duran on Apr 20, 2009 8:04 AM

Hi, This is my understanding. Batch delete seems to be available along with the list feature. As such there are no ways to prepare list out of notes, So there seems to be no option to me to delete it by batch delete. The other option could be to write a WS code. hope this helps

  • Batch Delete/Removal of CustomObject(x) Records

There is no batch delete function on CustomObjects. Does anyone know of any clever way to identify, tag, and delete records in these tables? If not, I'm just going to blank out all the fields with an import.
    Thanks,

Mike, the only way to batch delete records in a custom object object is to use web services.

  • Batch delete older podcasts

I listen to lots of podcasts (current I have @ 270 that I pick from) but over time I need to do a "cull" of all the older podcast episodes to free up hard disk space and avoid them clogging up my 32Gb MP3 player too!
Is there a way to batch delete all but the latest version of all podcast feeds, so I am left with only the very latest one of each show, and all older legacy episodes are permanently deleted.
Thanks in advance for your help.

P.S.  I tried what's been suggested: that you automatically synch checked podcasts and then uncheck everything.  It didn't work.  Those old podcasts are still there.

  • Batch delete in Messages

Is there a way to batch delete multiple text messages in the Messages app on Mac?

What i did is go to the server and delete all of my messages from all my accounts. Comcast saves messages for 30 days [the least option available]. It needed to be done anyway.
I then deleted each of the 25 emails on the iPhone, quit Safari, and then restarted it. There were no 1100 emails waiting to be downloaded anymore. Hopefully, I'll remember to delete emails more often. Yeah, right, and they still have that bridge for sale in New York...

  • Is there a way to perform a batch delete Azure Table rows given a PartitionKey in a Single Call

Is there any Efficient way to Perform deletion on Multiple Azure Table rows in a Single Call if I know the PartitionKey ( and RowKeys) - other than designing for "deleting the whole table" ?
There were many older threads which infers that there is no way other then issuing in a Batch of 100. I want to know the latest POR - Are there any plans to support this scenario in near future ?

    Hi Sir,
    >>Is there any Efficient way to Perform deletion on Multiple Azure Table rows in a Single Call if I know the PartitionKey ( and RowKeys) - other than designing for "deleting the whole table" ?
Generally, the batch operation is the good choice for deleting the multiple entities . See this similar threads(http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/azure/en-US/c5cf03b0-2001-4b11-91ce-7888bfc2605e/efficient-delete-multiple-rows-by-partitionkey

Currently, the max number of Batch is 100 in one single request. I suggest you could submit a feature request via this page:

  • IOS 8.1 How to batch delete unfavorable photos?

since iOS 8, we lost the iPhoto app and the ability to batch manage photos. As sad as that is, now I'm ready to move on.
With the new photo app, i see that we can mark a photo as favorite but I cannot see which photo is favorite on the grid view so I cannot select multiple non-favorites to delete them. To organize my photos, I have to open each and every photo (one by one) to see if any photo needs deletion. Imagine doing one by one deletion for 5000 shots.
Can anyone tell me if there is a better way to manage the photos in the photo app?
P.s. Ideally the app should have a sorting function that group all the non-favorites then allow deletion.

Right now, there is no way to batch identify the non-favourites, afaik.  Please send feedback to Apple about a usability issue and a feature request. Either use this link:  Apple - iPhoto - Feedback
    or http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
Right now, I try to avoid having non-favourites on my iDevices, by deleting immediately. I try to get rid of them, as soon as I have taken a photo and delete mediocre photos before I even close the Camera.app. When I browse the photos to mark favourites, I delete immediately any photo that is not worth a favorite mark.
You might try to delete non-favorites on the https://www.icloud.com/#photos  page in iCloud.  If you (temporarily) enable iCloud Photo Library Beta on your iPad, all photos will upload to iCloud and you can manage the photos on your iPad  from the Photos Beta app in the web interface. It is a bit easier to weed out non-favorites, because the overview page and the slideshow will show the "Favourites" heart as a batch overlay, so you know, which photos you need to delete. Any photo you delete on the iCloud page will be removed from your iPad as well as long as you keep iCloud Photo Library Beta enabled. This will disable however the "My Photo Stream" from a Mac and iTunes Photo Sync, so to upload photos use Mail, shared Photo Streams,  or the upload button at  https://beta.icloud.com  .
For example: the "Moments" on the iCloud page are showing like this, with the "favourites" heart in the upper left corner. Clicking a photo will enlarge them, so you can step them and the favourites heart will show in the title.

  • Face Metadata accessible and/or can it be batch deleted?

Is there there a way access and/or batch delete "Face" data? Many of my old (pre-digital) photos are scanned from the originals in photo albums. I also have taken a digital photograph of each album page to keep in Aperture for reference. I don't want face detected on those photos (of album pages). It seems the faces (named or un-named) on these photos can only be deleted one at a time. I would like to be able to select all these photos (of album pages) and simply delete all faces. Is this possible?
On a related note, is it possible to display the named faces in a meta-data field (it appears not). Aperture seems to treat "face" meta-data as a special type of meta-data that isn't accessible. Please tell me that I am wrong!
    Thanks,
    Dave

I think my best option is to export the photos that I don't want to have Face data into a separate library, then delete them from my main library. At least they won't show up when I search Faces in my main library.
That looks like a good idea.
After you export the library with the unwanted "Faces", make a backup of the library. Then try to delete the Faces database inside. quit aperture, if it is running.
Crtl-click (or right click) the library with the Faces.
    Select show Package contents.
in the window that opens, delete the folder  Database/Faces/ und the file Database/apdb.Faces.db
Close the window. Launch aperture again on the modified library. all Faces should be gone.
Now delete the project with the unwnted faces from your main library and import the  library without faces.
    The Faces folder
    The faces.db

  • How Do I Batch Delete Instances (Non-Tomcat User)

I ran into that issue with the DST screwing up our scheduled reports and didn't notice until today. I started reading all over and found the notes in the SAP KB. I did find the tool that would help me batch delete the failed instances however it looks like it's using Tomcat. Is there another KB article that has the code for IIS users?

As far as I know the tool will help you to reschedule the instances in a neutral way but it has to be used before the problem  occurs.
In your case you have generic 2 options:
    1) Use the Instance manager in the CMC to erase the failed instances.
    2) Set a limit for the number of instances either at the top level of the public and the personal folders or directly on the folder they failed reports reside. This will trigger the automatic deletion of instances in your system. Depending on the locaiton where you set this you have to be carefull since succesfull instances may also be imnpacted.
    Hope this helps.

  • Batch Select or Batch Delete?

When there'a a lot of mail in my iPad Inbox (POP account), there's no way to "select all" for batch deletion.
    Am I missing something?

If you have gmail you can batch delete using Safari. Log into gmail using Safari. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the link labeled DESKTOP. The page will reopen up with more options. Click on the box above the first email and select ALL and then hit delete. This will delete emails that are selected off of the sever.
You might be able to use Safari with other mail providers to batch delete emails.

I just got new ipad mini....I want to delete all of the music that was synced from my itunes account.  I have went through and deleted some songs one by one but some have a cloud icon with a red arrow on them.....is there a simple way just to delete them?

Yes there is. Those songs are not actually on your iPad. They are in iCloud ready for download if you choose to do so. If you want to remove them go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Show All>Music>Off. You can also do this in Settings>Music>Show All Music>Off.

  • Is there a way to add/delete words from the predictive text ?

Is there a way to add/delete words from the predictive text options that my iPhone is giving me? I'm using an iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.
There are specific words that are popping up in the area right above the keyboard where it displays 3 word suggestions to choose from. This area seems to suggest words that I have typed before, I'd like to remove these words. Default seems to select the word in the center and when I'm typing fast on occasion it will recommend and select words that I don't need to use.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Thank youI would suggest upgrading to a supported version of the database. 9i has been unsupported for many many years now.
And to answer your question... to the best of my knowledge, there is no workaround. It works as it works.

  • Is there a way to view/delete apps that won't fit on the 11 screens?

I have more apps than fit on the 11 available screens - is there a way to view/delete apps that aren't on the 11 screens? I know I can launch them from the search facility, but that doesn't give me a comprehensive list or the ability to remove?

You can only remove them in iTunes on the computer.
