Ways to decrease charge time?
Hello,
I am in need of decreasing the amount of time to charge my iPhone 5. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to charge the iPhone 5 faster? I was researching forums regarding the amount of Voltage and Watts the iPhone 5 can handle. If i had a 10 watt charger instead of a 5 Watt charge, would that expedite the process at all? Could I do this for the iPhone 4S, 5S, and/or the 5C? Please let me know.
You can use any Apple power adapter, but the iPhone will draw only as much power as it requires, and it will not require more than 5W.

How slow is your Internet connection? There's no way it should take that long if you have a reasonable connection.

I am running the regular 6 cell, and also a 3 cell ultrabay.
I have discrete GPU.
Will the charging times decrease if I use a 135 watt charger, and ifso, under which (or 2/3) of the following scenarios)?
1) Drained batteries and using the computer at full performance
2) Drained batteries, computer is off.
3) Drained batteries, 4338-10u mini dock plus, 2 monitors external monitors, computer at full performance
Thanks!I don't think so.
The reason being is that the battery can only charge at a certain rate- or else it will overheat and explode (probably a bad thing).
What's the time it takes for your batteries (the 6-cell and the 3-cell) to fully charge when the computer is at idle? (Or off?)
We can assume that you're not using more than 49 watts at any time (the CPU's rated for 35W maximum power and the GPU eats 14W) at full performance (such as running an application such as Folding@Home or a standard stresstest)
So depending on how fast the battery charges when you're not using any power (or little enough to have no effect on charge rates) we can figure out if it will charge faster with a 90 W or 135 W adapter since we can see if the battery, at fastest charging rate, will overstep the power output. -
Hello
In my application I have 4 Model project and one ViewController project.
In the log file , the compilation takes 3 minutes! With the startup of the server I'm starting the application for about 5-6 minutes each time.
Is there some way to decrease this time?
here is the snipped from the log that takes 3 minutes (It's too long I know but maybe it would be helpful):

[5:02:01 PM] Appc compilation endHi all,
I have this problem too, and I know the problem isn't my hardware, because I'm running JDeveloper on a PC with these specs: Win 7 64bit, cpu: intel Core i7-3930K, 16G RAM, SSD Hard.
Also all JDK that I'm using are 64bit, But when my project got bigger, I have these problem too. I can't count on my project RUN TIME, because of hanging JAVAW.exe !
Sometime it passes quickly as a flash, but sometime it takes more than an hour (maybe more!) with same project!
As "a.gruev" mentioned, it's NOT for Compiling Time, and NOT for Weblogic Start Time, it's just JAVAW that takes a long time!
I couldn't find any solution on the net, but I've checked the JAVAW.EXE and I've realized after more than 5 min it doesn't do anything special(!) and just waits, waits, and waits!!
So, I've found a solution incidentally, but I don't know if it's a good solution or not, but it works for me. Every time JDeveloper takes more than 5 min by JAVAW, I'll open "Resource Monitor" in Win 7, and will find javaw.exe in cpu list.
After that, I'll choose "Analyze Wait Chain" via Context Menu on Javaw.exe, and it'll popup a panel that shows two chained thread of javaw.exe. Finally, I'll select Sub-Thread and will order to end process of Sub-Thread, and at last waiting problem will be solved! And JDeveloper will do next step (Weblogic starting commands).
It's working for me, and I hope helps other person who have my problem too. -
Is there a way to view how much charging time is left when charging iPod?
Is there a way to view how much charging time is left when charging our iPods (without having to disconnect and play a song to see the little battery icon)? The iBooks tell us the percentage and approximate time left to full charge. This would be a great feature for iPods as well, right? How can we suggest such a feature to the Mac techs for the next update?
5th Generation iPod, iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.3.9)determining an ipods estimated remaining battery life is difficult because it doesnt know how long the backlight will stay on, how many times you change a songs, etc.
those are all variables that change the amount of battery -
2.1 Decreased Battery Life and Increased Charging Time
Ever since I upgraded to 2.1, my battery life has been decreased significantly. My usage has actually went down since them, but the battery isn't lasting nearly as long. I have to charge it at least once or twice a day, sometimes more during heavy use. On top of that, charging it is taking much longer than it used to. I'm plugging it into my computer and it says it's charging but I've had it in for hours and the battery charge meter has barely moved.
I've experienced the exact opposite. I can fully charge in about an hour and by the end of a work day under normal usage, I still have more than 50% battery. Normal usage to me is reading about 15 emails, reading news for about 20 mins on the web, a few phone calls, searching for new software in the App store, reading reviews of said software, a quick game or two of Enigmo or Cro-mag Rally and listening to tunes in Ipod mode.
Sounds like you have a defective charging cable. As for your battery draining, check to see if WiFi is on, if so, turn it off when you don't need it. Also turn off Blue tooth if you don't need it. I've also read that if you have the Equalizer enabled in Ipod mode that this will add to the drain. Check your brighness settings also, I find that if the brightness slider is set to about 1/3 and autobrightness set, this works well for most situtations. I may need to increase brightness in bright sun light, but thats about it. Do you have the AC adapter for charging? If so, see if this increases your charging times. Computer charging does take longer than the AC adapter but not as long as you described.
Good luck -
HT5423 How many hours is the charging time of the iPad 4th gen?
I am charging my ipad, & noticed that its been 9 hours & still its 90 percent. I just wanna know, how many hours is the charging time of an iPad before it gets 100% full? & is it normal that the charger become hot? Hope someone can answer this question. Thank u.
Chargers, and the unit being charged where the battery is located, will get warm during charging...charging does work on the battery. If it is hot or too hot to handle then you need to decide if it is too uncomfortable and needs to be checked at the Apple store genius bar.
Nine hours is a long time to charge, but if you discharged all the way it can take 4-8 hours to fully charge.
If the charger is getting very hot and taking a long time to charge you may want to take it to the genius bar and have it checked by the techs. -
Whilst plugged in to my USB, the passport has been charging all day and only achieved 75% charge. I have been using it syncing data etc during this time but even without use, it was showing 2 hours left of charging time. I've taken it out of the USB as it almost felt it was never going to get there and am now using a wall plug charge and its showing 45mins to complete the final 15%. Any views on this?
Solved!
Go to Solution. Some PCs when using a USB CHARGE ONLY cable can charge it faster if your PC BIOS supports it.
Most dont bother with it as you will mix up the cables with others and not be able to use a CHARGE ONLY cable for sync/backups
I have used a PlayBook USB charger rated at 1800 ma to change all my previous BlackBerry devices in past 3.5 years with no ill effect.
Lithium technology has come a long way

Z1 has decreased screen time now
Hello all,
I usually benchmark my Z1's battery life by looking at the screen time from 100% to 90%. Before, it takes 30 - 35 minutes of screen time before my battery reaches 90% from 100%.
For the past week, I have noticed that it only takes 15 - 20 mins of screen time before it reaches 90% of battery life. This bothers me somehow.
I am currently out of the country and use my phone for Viber the whole day. A few music streaming amd web browsing here and there. I usually go out fully charged at 8am and then come back home with around 15% to 30% of battery life by 8pm. Is that still decent? 3G is on with stamina mode.
Back at home, I do not use 3g that much because I am a prepaid user. My screen time used to be longer when I was in my home country.
My Z1 is only 6 months old running 4.3. I have not installed any unusual apps before this decreased screen time happened. Could the 3G be draining the battery faster or has my battery started to deteriorate? Meh, it has only been 6 months: (Is your screen on auto brightness? If your current country has more sun than home it may be asking for a brighter screen and so use more battery. 3g will use more power but with stamina mode or pretty much shuts this down when the screen is off. As you didn't mention it I will assume viber is not preventing stamina mode as this would cause a notification. Also autosync may have been switched on inadvertently so check that. Is Wifi switched off? If not it uses more power searching for a known network and will do so all the while the screen is on. I personally think your battery use is high.

Why is the charging time on the new iPad so long? It is 3 times as long as iPad 2.
Why is the charging time on the new iPad so long? It is 3 times as long as iPad 2.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery, so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night.
Cheers, Tom -
hii, what is the average charging time taken by an ipad 2 to fully charge.Mine is taking 2:45 to 3 hrs is it normal.some one plz help me.
That's normal.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. Yoga 8 and 10 Tablets - KitKat 4.4.2 - Charging Time
After upgrading to KitKat 4.4.2, some customers report their Yoga 8 or 10 tablets (B6000-F/H or B8000-F/H) may take longer to charge while OFF, than it does while ON. Some users report double the time to charge when device is on.
10/15 EDIT: Adding in the LED light not turning off when tablet is fully charged as it may be related. Also adding in hot battery physically warm to touch.
These reports originated from this thread: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Android-based-Tablets/KitKat-roll-out-for-Yoga-Tablets-starting-Jun...
I was personally unable to reproduce these reports so I am looking for some information. Could I get some feedback from 3+ people? I am looking for the following:
Yoga 8 or 10 tablet
30 minutes on charged X%
30 minutes off charged Y%

I administer exams that require running two consecutive presentations and interact with the person being tested. With each candidate we use two different presentations, so I can't just make only one presentation. Is there a way to have a timer display on the presentation screen through both presentations? Each person only has thirty minutes to get thru both presentations. If one only takes ten minutes, then they have twenty for the final one. I'd like to get away from using egg timers.
take a look at this thread, you can find some useful info about running old and some new games on Booklet there.

Could u plz help me to find simple example for how to save data file in a spread sheet or any other way in the real time controller for Sbrio 9642 using memory or usb flash memory
Here are a few Links to a helpful Knowledge Base article and a White Paper that should help you out: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/BBCAD1AB08F1B6BB8625741F0082C2AF and http://www.ni.com/white-paper/10435/en/ .
