WBS Element based Output Issue

Hi All,
I m having two inputs. Project ID and WBSElt Assume that inside one WBS there are four other WBS Elements. I can give any one among four WBS elts as input with Project ID. How can i filter the data based on the selected WBS elt? Plz help me out.

I will give you the example for the selection
example:
Project 1
Level 1 WBS
Level 2 WBS element
Level 3 WBS element 1
Level 3 WBS element 2
Now if you want select WBS element 1 and 2 with the project 1
enter
Project ID: Project 1
WBS Elements: Level 3 WBS element 1 to Level 3 WBS element 2
so the system will diaplay the relevant data's.

Hi,
If its a one time requirement using CN43N might help in meeting the requirement. However, first it has to be executed for a certain range of projects and then the layout will have to be changed accordingly. Instead of doing this if a custom report is developed with the input parameter as "Project Type" it would make it much more easier. You can even have the F4 search option for the input parameter. Doing this will help if the report is going to be used frequently in the future.

BAPI for finding child WBS elements under a Parent WBS element

Hi friends,
I am working on the transaction ZIOS02 transaction. On releasing the Parent or Main WBS element in ZIOS02 transaction I need to copy some data from ZIOS to PRPS based on WBS element.
I have a Bapi for retrieving all the WBS elements based on Project Definition (BAPI_PROJECT_GETINFO) but i want to know whether is there any BAPI for finding the child WBS elements when we give a Parent WBS elemnts as Input to BAPI.
Could any one please help me in the query ASAP.

I have got the answer for finding the child WBS elements.
In Function module BAPI_Project_get_info.
Use parameter subtree = 'X' and give the WBS element name in tables section under I_wbs_element. You will get all the child WBS elements which are under Main WBS element.

WBS element and Cost Center

Hi Gurus,
As far as I know, when the a/c assignment category is P in a PO, the costs are assessed on the cost object WBS element and when the a/c assignment category is K in a PO, the costs are assessed on the cost object cost center. But, as I drill down a WBS element, I find Requesting and responsible cost center.
So, can I say that a WBS element is actually a child of the responsible cost center ?
And all the costs assessed on a WBS element are eventually assessed on the responsible cost center?
Please help in clearing my concepts.

hi,
You assign the account assignment to WBS element based on the OPERATIVE INDICATOR...
By this you specify the attributes of a WBS element and determine which tasks the WBS element can carry out in the project...

Asset master to be distributed to WBS element

Dear all,
I have created a Asset and run the depreciation for the month. (Dep. key maintained for book accounts and cost accounts) it wll get posted to FI as well as Cost center. now i am using KSV1 actual distribution to distributed the cost center to WBS element based on percentage.
after create and saving it the distribution have not been carried out. help is need

when i checked t.code KSB1 for that cost center and cost element before distribution that was there in the report, after when i created KSV1 for distribution with this same cost center to WBS element the when i checked it in the same report after the distribution have been done the cost center and the cost element is not there. then when i checked CJI3 against the WBS element there also the cost center and cost element is not displaying.
it simply says No objects were selected using the criteria entered
cost element category - 22 external settlement is it ???

COST Element Based Planning

Hello All,
We are trying to plan cost of WBS Element based on cost elements.
what we are trying to do -
> CJ40, we want to plan on cost element level so on clicking the button "primary costs" (or via the menu: "Extras -> detailed planning -> Primary costs") we end up in an error message saying -
Group INT-2 does not contain any entries
Message no. K8004
Diagnosis
Group INT-2 does not contain any single values. You cannot use it in planning.
System Response
The SAP System rejects the planning layout and your entry.
Procedure
Use either a different group or enter values for group INT-2.
CONFIGURATION for Planning Profile (T Code - OPSB) for the planning profile used in WBS Element Primary cost element group assigned is INT-2.
Question2
- Does cost element planning influenced by the cost element group assigned in the planning profile.
- How to solve this error.

this is because in planning profile (Txn OPSB) you have INT-2 as cost element group and there are no cost elements assigned as pointed out by Venkat
use transaction CJR2 instead of CJ40 and then plan for any cost element group or cost element that you already have

Sales Order creation with WBS Element

Hi Friends,
I tried to create a sales order with each line item being associated with a WBS Element based on the material. But when i try to save the document its throwing an error saying that 'WBS element <elt_name> is not a billing element'. What does this mean?

Hi Tamilarasan,
You must select the checkbox of "Billing element" in the frame "Operative indicators". If you don't see this check box, you must display it from SPRO PS customizing => Define field selection for WBS structures.

Restriction to only cost element based planning against WBS

HI Expert,
here we need a scenario, like...user can only do cost element based planning against WBS.
He should not be allowed to enter any manula cost directly against WBS.
How to address this issue.

Hi,
Go to CJR2 t-code select the layout 1-702 and enter the wbs, cost element, periods, year and version and execute the transaction. Then enter the values and save.
Remove the autorization for CJ40.

Multiple milestone creation issue for WBS element 'BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN'?

Hi all,
I am using 'BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN' to create Project definition,WBS element & milestone for WBS at once.
The program is working fine if one wbs element have one milestone.
But If any of the WBS elements have more than one milestone, the milestones are not creating properly.
The bottom level WBS milestones are creating for some higher level WBS. some milestones are not at all
creating. I am not getting any error message.
Code for mile stone section is :
**fill milsestone data for WBS in BAPI structures
        lv_mlstno = lv_mlstno + 1.
        it_wbsmilestone-milestone_number = lv_mlstno.

Thanks for your continuous reply.
The problem is solved.
I have passed the, reference number of WBS element creation to milestone creation in the 'Method' table.
Thatswhy it is picking wrongly.
I have corrected this by passing different reference numbers to WBS and milestone creations
based on their tables.

Unable to close the WBS element because of inventory issue

Hello
We are facing one issue where we are trying to close one WBS element but getting error that stock still exsists.
When i checked in table MSPR i found that for one of the material in the WBS element the physical inventory process is still not complete
Physical Inventory Blocking Indicator ,Indicator that specifies that the stock is blocked for a physical inventory has value A(Physical inventory not yet completed for amterial) in that table for one of the materials.
KIndly advice how to complete the proces and close the WBS.

Issue in BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT in mass creation of WBS Elements

I am facing a issue with BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT.
we have the following WBS Hierarchy:
S - Proj, (level1)
S-XXX WBS Element (level2)
S-XXX-001 WBS Element (level3)
I have created a program for mass creation of WBS elements creation
which uses the following BAPI's
BAPI_PS_INITIALIZATION
BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI
BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT
BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT
The proj: 'S' and the level2 WBS element: 'S-XXX' already exist in the system.
When I run the program for delta load, so as to create the following level3 WBS elements:
S-XXX-001
S-XXX-002
S-XXX-003
The system is throwing the following errors at the BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT:
1. Final Check of the project definition and WBS elements: Error
2. Validation unsuccessful

Check the WBS elements doesn't exist already in your system.
Here is what I coded some days back for deletion of Network Activities, most of the things are same.
You are doing for WBS element.

Issue on distribution of quantity to WBS elements in invoice

Hi SAP Gurus,
I have an issue with the distribution of quantity to WBS elemements in SAP.
There is a purchase order with 6 line items. For the first line item a quantity of 3 is ordered and the same quantity of 3 is assigned to 7 WBS elements in the account assignment tab. There were 3 invoices created for this line item. For a particular WBS element a quantity of 1.050 was assigned and when we drilled down through the 3 invoices we found only a quantity of 1.028 is assigned to this Particular WBS element. Can someone please tell me as to why this mismatch has happened.

I am sorry but this is not the case . There are 7 WBS elements used for this PO. The quantity is distributed to 7 wbs elements as follows.

1st WBS element-                 8.7                             0.261
2nd WBS element                 17.4                            0.522
3rd WBS element                  18.2                            0.546
4th WBS element                  8.8                             0.264
5th WBS element                   6.4                             0.192
6th WBS element                   5.5                             0.165
7th WBS element                   35                              1.050
This is the assigned structure in the PO for all the 7 WBS elements. But when you look into the 3 invoices a quantity of 1.028 has been distributed to 7th WBS element and a quantity of 0.214 has been assigned to 5th WBS element which is causing the mismatch
Also in the 2nd and 3rd invoices only 6 wbs elements are used. Can you please tell me as to why there is a WBS element missing in the 2nd and 3rd invoices if the splitting is happening automatically.

Hi,
I came across a similar situation once. I dont remember exactly.
We have two different DataSources on wbs hierarchy. The hiearchy was loaded using the two datasources.
By mistake we were trying to use the hierarchy created by Datasource2, instead of hier created by datasource1.
Can you check that.

WBS element output not coming properly .

I have a customized report with , project(proj-pspid) ,wbs element( prps-posid) as selection parameters . The output is coming preperly when project is given as output but is not coming properly when wbs element is given as input. I am using PSJ logical database . Not sure why in debugging while giving only wbs element it is going to 'Conversion_exit_abpsn_input' instead of teh conversion exit 'Conversion_exit_abpsp_input' . Any idea on how it can be resolved?

Please refer the WBS element to PSPNR (PRPS-PSPNR) instead of prps-posid ,
prps-posid refers to exit 'Conversion_exit_abpsn_input' and not 'Conversion_exit_abpsp_input'.
