WBS Forecast dates disappears during scheduling after final confirmation

Hi dear Experts.I faced a problem with WBS dates.
The system overwrites forecast and basic dates on WBS after final confirmation of attached activities. And start to schedule wbs dates from dates of activities with no confirmation. Is there any way to solve this prolem?
In other words i need my WBS to take into scheduling ALL the operations forecast date. Moreover how the system can overwrite the forecast dates wich were entered manually by user?
Green - actual dates
Yellow (orange) - forecast dates
Bue - Basic dates
Please help.

Hi Kirill,
Please check the control parameters for WBS Scheduling. Check if the scheduling method over here is WBS Determines Dates. If this is the case, irrespective of the scheduling that was carried out at the activity level, the system overwrites the basic and forecast dates present at the WBS level. May be in your case the scheduling method that had been used was "Network determines dates".
. Please change this and let me know if this helps.

    As per my observation, their is not any change in the status of the order REL with confirmation CNF, instead of this, it has change from CRTD & then to TECO.
       Sequence of the status of the order as below
    1) CRTD MANC NMAT SETC
    2) REL  NMAT SETC - Changes from CRTD to REL after releasing of the order
    3) REL  CNF  PRC  CSER ERTR OPGN SETC -  After confirmation, it updated after the order REL status.

  • Preventing additional component consumption after final confirm in PM Order

    Hi,
    I am trying to block the consumption of additional components after the final confirmation in a PM order, this is causing erroneous component consp. especially in orders with multiple operations.
    The user may choose a confirmed operation while recording a component, system gives an error but it does not prevent the recording of that component, I want the users to get an error and stop there in such a case.

    OK once more I thought I should add screens to better tell what I was trying to ask, I could not do that with the old forum layout. Anyways, could I get that result (in the screens) thru customization. There have been other comments relying on Orders' user statuses but with multiple operations they are not usable, every operation is confirmed individually and order status does either let or deny material movements thru the whole order (all operations)

  • How to retrieve iPhoto 6/OS 10.4 thumbnails that all disappeared during or after thumbnail rebuild requested by the software?

    While working in iPhoto, I received a request to rebuild thumbnails and clicked "yes."
    At some point (I was coming and going from the project and may have closed down and thenr re-opened iPhoto, but I don't recall), the thumbnails disappeared. In the meantime, I had emptied the IPhoto trash.
    All the photos still seem to be there. I closed and opened iPhoto a couple of times and then also restarted the machine. I can scroll through the photos but cannot figure out how to call up the thumbnails, and I gather from other discussions that perhaps I should try to rebuilid library.
    Is that the only option?
    If I try to rebuild the library, how do I back it up?

    If you find you can't rebuild the library with iPhoto you may have to rebuild it with  iPhoto Library Manager  as follows:
    Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
    Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
    Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
    In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
    Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • CAT2 Final Confirmation - Impact on other modules?

    HI Experts,
    We are using CAT2 for time entry in multiple parts of the business.
    We want to enable the 'final confirmation' in CAT2 for maintenance orders so that they can be set to confirmed in PM.
    If we configure the indicator to display, what impact might this have on users from other modules entering time in CAT2 (e.g. finance, projects et).  Will they see the indicater as well or will it be hidden?

    If you are using on data entry profile then the final confirmation will be visable for all employee's entering timesheets.
    What I would do is have at least 2 profiles one for PM users with the final confirmation flag available and one for other users with the final confirmation flag hidden.
    This would make sure that this flag is not set for instance against a WBS etc.

  • Scheduling with Forecast Dates

    Dear Experts,
    I want to know whether following is possible.
    When creating a project initial schedule dates based on Activity Duration and Activity Relationships should reflect as Basic Dates. After project creation, when ever the Project Manager reschedule the project, those reschedule dates should be reflect as Forecasted dates.
    By doing this the Project Manager will be able to identify Initial Plan as Basic Dates, Reschedule Plan as Forecasted Dates and Actual as Actual Dates.

    I did reschedule Forecasting Dates using CN24 (Overall Network Scheduling) transaction. But after doing this, overall Project and WBS Elements dates does not changes based on the reschedule Network Time lines.
    Further I have define "Network determines dates" as the Scheduling method in WBS Schedule Profile.

  • Process chain is running even after the 'No Schedule After' date

    Hi Experts,
              On 19th sep, we scheduled a process chain where the scheduled start date is 20th sep, 07:30:00 and no start after date is 22 sep, 00:00:01. The periodic value is 'Daily' and there is no restrictions for this load.
             But yesterday the process chain ran at 7. We checked tbe jobs that triggered and found that the start date and no start after date is changed to 21 and 23 respectively.
            But the last changed date for the process chain is 19th sep only.
            Anyhow, we removed the process chain from schedule. But, I want to know the reason for this load that loaded even after the 'No start after' date.
           Please help me to know why this issue happened...

    I also have been caught by this option once : the "do not start after" is here to avoid problems of scheduling : let imagine your system can be stopped, for any reason, so the scheduling will be postponed. In this case, it avoid, for instance, to load data during the day. It's not for running a PC for only a certain period of time.

  • Scheduling after entering Actual dates

    Dear Members,
    I have a scenario where I want to reschedule the project after entering actual dates for the activity.
    Lets say,
    An activity was planned for Duration : 8 Days and work : 64 Hrs  (Capacity is 8 hrs/day)
    20.05.2009 to 28.05.2009
    Now I am confirming the activity for the first time after say 4 days work :
    20.05.2009 to 24.05.2009
    but the work done is only 16 hrs.
    Now the remaining work is 48 hrs in only 4 days.
    Requirement is that... scheduling should shift the dates of the activity according to capacity and remaining work.
    48 hrs can be completed in 6 days... so the finish date of activity should be increased by 2 days... from 28.05.2009 to 30.05.2009.
    I hope I have put my requirement in a meaningful way... please help me on this...
    (I know that instead of increasing the dates and delaying the project, it is recommended to overload the capacity and finish the activity withing the planned duration.. but I cant increase the capacity...)

    I have come across the same business requirement in one of the project implementation.
    So I had given a logic to my ABAPer to calculate the forecast duration and automatically bring the value in the internal activity screen.
    The user exit used was CONFPS04, there is an include available where you can out the code for this enhancement.
    Hence, whenever you will do the confirmation, as per the calculation you have given in your example, system will calculate & update the forecast duration field. Now, everytime you will do the scheduling, on the basis of the value in the forecast duration, system will schedule the project.

    What calendar were you syning to? Outlook? Google? Something else? The directions on how to resync vary a bit.

    The Apple techs are looking. But they can't find it. Nor can they find a back up on my laptop, Evidently when I backed up my Iphone to computer the calendar wasn't syncing. Since I only use the calander on my phone - I never noticed.
    The Apple store rep that sold me the I-Phone 5 on Monday, was transferring my contacts and calendar thru I-Cloud (I never used I-Cloud before that moment - and always had it turned off). He successfully transferred the contacts - which are still on my phone), but the Calendar weirdly split into 6 calendars (2 of which were linked to my G-Mail which only had a few entries) (4 were linked to my MSN / Hotmail email and contained all the major events/data). I never created calendars that were separate or liked them to 2 different emails. I just typed entries into the I-Phone calendar. However, the calendar did exist on the new I-Phone for 24 hours. Something happened during transfer. When the Apple Genius Bar tech was attempting to back up my Calendar & merge the 6 calendars, everything disappeared in his hand while he was looking at it.
    I am hoping that some really good data recovery expert exists that can restore the calendar that was in both I-Phones yesterday. It is completely devastating if I can't recover it.

    B'cos of this i can't see the Bill order, billing doc rate type data is not diplayed.

    first of all, the system might be correct ...
    Okok, here is what to do: check with ES32 at first the meter reading unit of your installation. After that use the meter reading unit and use transaction E40A to display the schedule records and check the date. If this is NOT correct, use E40B to change the dates to correct dates. If this is not possible due to existing meter reading orders/readings/billing orders use EL31 to display all for the MRU and if possible reverse those (via EL37). If there is no issue with the MRU, perform the check with E40A also for the portion. If this all does not help - I am afraid you will just have to open an OSS message.

    Basic and Forecast Dates
    Basic dates are the dates that have a binding character for time scheduling and for other related areas such as capacity planning.
    Forecast dates are dates that you expect based on more detailed planning or on changes during the course of the project. Forecast dates have no influence on reservations, purchase requisitions, or current capacity requirements.
    You can enter basic and forecast dates for WBS elements and activities. In networks, you can also forecast values for the work as well as for the dates.
    You are free to decide which type of date you use for planning and scheduling. You can schedule a network using the forecast dates, for example, or you can copy the forecast dates into the basic dates in the WBS or activity and then use them as the basis for further planning.
    Actual dates:
    Actual dates provide you with information on the state of the project. You enter them manually in the WBS elements or the system calculates them using confirmation data.
    Scheduled Dates
    Scheduled dates are the start and finish dates of activities calculated by the system in scheduling. For WBS elements the scheduled dates are determined from the scheduled dates of the activities that are assigned to the WBS element.
    Earliest and Latest Dates
    Earliest and latest dates are calculated in network scheduling and tell you the earliest or latest data that an activity must start or finish on.
    To compare the dates:
    In Project planning board, click on "Set of Dates/View" button which can be found besides Options button.
    Then Check the required dates.
    Dates will be shown in different colours, you can compare them visually and get the amount delay.
    If you are not sure about the colours, just click on Legend button to see which colour represents what.

    An error saying 'Error during scheduling' is logged while running Run order sequencing in Production Planning Run and the job is failed.
    Checked the capacity of the resource but seems ok.
    The below long text is displayed next to the error message.
    Error during scheduling
    Message no. /SAPAPO/OM043
    Diagnosis
    The system could not schedule an order, operation or activity.
    This could have the following causes:
    The resource does not have any free working time or capacity.
    If you have set planning direction backwards in the strategy profile:
    There is not enough working time or capacity available for scheduling between now and the scheduling date.
    If you have set planning direction forwards in the strategy profile:
    There is not enough working time or capacity available for scheduling between the scheduling date and the end of the planning area.
    If you plan characteristics-dependently:
    You have assigned characteristics to operations of the order that do not agree with characteristics of the resources on which the operations are to be processed.
    The system cannot find any suitable characteristics on the resources and so it cannot schedule.
    Procedure
    Depending on which of the above reasons is the cause, change the following settings:
    Change the working times and capacities of the resources.
    Set the planning mode "infinite planning" in the strategy profile.
    Activate the planning direction forwards or backwards and reverse in the strategy profile.
    Change the characteristics that you have assigned to the resource.
    Can anyone let me know what else need to check to avoid the error.

    Dear Maddy,
    The function "Reschedule" follows an all-or-nothing logic, which means that either all selected activities on a resource can be re-scheduled or the function (better the liveCache) cancels and no activities will be re-scheduled.
    One reason might be that you have a pegging relation to a fixed activity (this might be a sales order, forecast, an activity outside the propagation range...) which cannot be considered during the
    scheduling. The liveCache cannot break the pegging, therefore it cancels the scheduling.
    Please have a look at the note 510669 which offers a heuristic on the basis of the algorithm /SAPAPO/HEUR_PLAN_SEQ_PACKAGES. This heuristic should solve your problem. It will re-schedule as many activities as possible and will not cancel if one fails.
    Depending on your current release there could be also some correction notes like

    During the quick create contact person creation (via accounts), based on client requirements the screen setting has been changed. (UI Configuration).

    So we have data displayed from 2 context nodes.

    We have done the enhancement for this view so get the bespoke field called Dept.No, and to provide dropdown.
    Now when we enter the data for the first time, and press enter, all the data entered in BUILCNTSTDADDRESS disappears.
    However after first time, the data stays back on the screen (works normally).
    But, if we dont press enter, and simply press the back button, the data gets properly saved.
    Do anyone have any idea what is causing this to fail for the first time.
    I bebugged for few hours to find that super class CL_BP_CONT_CONTACTQUICKCR_IMPL got a method called CHECK_DATA_WAS_CHANGED. This gets triggered which calls the onsumbitonenter twice.
    I also tried bypassing the enhancement via user parameter and this works fine.
    Any idea what is causing this?
